Tablet doesn't recognize dock - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a slight problem.... My TF300 had some problems 2-3 years ago. First, it only just recognized the dock after the dock was connected to the charger. Then it stopped recognizing the dock at all. I thought the dock was broken. Now i got another working one and the same problem, the tablet doesn't recognize it.
It doesn't charge the tablet, keyboard and trackpad aren't working either.
The tablet can be charged (directly with the cable) and exchange data with my pc over cable.
Is that a known issue? And what is broken there?
Factory Reset hasn't helped
Greetings

Problem connecting to dock

This just started happening recently: when I place my Nexus One in the car dock, it doesn't recognize that it is in the dock. It still charges, but Car Home doesn't start, nor does it connect to the dock via Bluetooth. I checked the connections on the bottom of the phone and in the dock, and they seem clean, and the phone does not seem loose in the dock. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks.

[Q] USB Charging with Keyboard Dock, USB Adapter

Hey all, was wondering if anyone could answer this who currently owns a Transformer Keyboard Dock.
Since the dock has a battery built into it, can I charge devices via USB without the tablet docked into the keyboard or does the tablet have to be docked in order to use the USB to charge the device?
Also, I have seen pictures of a usb adapter for the transformer but cannot find it anywhere. Anyone aware of it's availability?
Thanks so much for the help!!
I just plugged a mytouch 3g into the usb port of the dock with the tablet disconnected and it did not charge the device. But as soon as I docked the tablet it started charging.
The usb adapter you describe I'm pretty sure hasn't been released yet.
hope that answered your question

yes thank you, just unfortunate as to what the answers are. have been putting off purchasing a tablet but after seeing that $100 coupon off tablets at staples this morning i am very tempted to finally pick up a transformer. Just concerned about keeping my Thunderbolt charged while tethering it to the tablet since I don't really have a strong need for the keyboard dock as of now. hope the usb adapter comes out soon.
what are your honest thoughts on the transformer?
i tried to charge my Blackberry with my keyboard dock and it wouldn't work at all..with or without the tablet docked.
Strange.....

[Q] Keyboard dock not charging and USB port not giving data

Hey all,
My other half and I picked up a TF300 to use as our "away with work" machine. She's had it for the last 4 months, and as we high-5'd at the airport she gave it to me with a couple of snags. I'm away with it now, so would prefer not to RTM it if we can solve this here!
The screen portion is working just fine, the issue is with the keyboard. It won't take a charge at all. Software reports the battery at 0% for the keyboard, plus the flashing orange LED on the power port side. It will allow the screen to charge from the mains while the keyboard is connected, so the issue is probably not the lead/connector/port there. The screen recognises that the keyboard is connected.
Also the usb port on the dock is refusing to recognise HDDs, memory sticks etc. It will give power over USB but seemingly no data.
I've tried a factory reset and have also upgraded to the latest uk firmware, to no avail!
Thoughts?

[Q] dock issues

So I've been searching the forums and can't seem to tell if anyone else is having the same problem as me. Just got a brand new in box tablet and dock from best buy. Every thing was working great until this morning. Went to use the dock and the key board doesn't work nor does the track pad and buttons.. The tablet isn't recognizing it as being connected.
The weird thing is that it seems to be charging when it is connected and plugged in. Also the tablet reads the flash drive I put in the USB port.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me. Thanks in advance.
hi,
is the battery of the dock empty ?
you can also try to put it back to factory default.
gr,
Did you try reboot tablet? Once my tablet didnt recognise dock too and reboot helped.
@up
When battery in dock is empty its using one in tablet. However he can try to charge it. Why not? Maybe there is a problem with his dock when its battery is empty
Sent using tf300t - stock JellyBean (docked/nonrooted)

I have the same issue, so I contacted ASUS support and they told me to request an RMA.

[Q] Help Rooting TF101 First Time

Well...my wife's transformer is incredibly slow and she is giving me permission finally to root it. However I have had difficulty doing so because the charging/interface port on the tablet has issues. A while ago the port stopped charging the tablet. We have multiple chargers for that tablet and nothing will charge it via that port. The only way she can charge it is by plugging it into the keyboard dock and charging the dock. Therefore when I try to plug the tablet into the computer so that I can forego the root process the computer will not recognize it.
So my question is.....can this tablet be rooted by downloading files to it and not need a tablet to PC interface? Or, can the tablet be plugged into the dock and interface with the PC somehow? I looked through all the rooting methods I could find and all of them required a tablet to PC interface.
Unfortunately you need a computer USB connection to root it. There was only 1 firmware (8.6.5.19) that could be rooted without a PC. In order to downgrade, you need a computer as well.
I have been able to root mine using the dock charging port. I just booted to APX mode (VOL UP and POWER).
I wrote a guide on how to root here: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...t/31927-frederuco-s-guide-root-rom-tf101.html
If the dock is charging the tablet surely the issue must be with charger/cable ive had issues with tf101 cable before, mine would slow charge at rate that was bearly noticable, and the tablet didn't show a charging icon, but the cable did allow a data connection still. If infact it is your tf101 thats the issue root will be out of the question but i belive the stock kernel can be overclocked with an overclocking app which might help a bit.

One would think cause that is the most logical explanation. However, I have tried 3 cables (one the original and other 2 brand new ones) and 2 different OEM power supplies and one that I made which has the proper output ratings and none will charge the tablet. However, all of them will charge the dock. The only way to get the tablet to charge is by plugging into the dock. I know it uses the same port and I am clueless as to why one charges and the other doesn't on the same port. All I know is that is what is going on.
The only problem I ever had with flashing while docked was flashing Ubuntu. But I always flash while docked, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I just flashed back to stock, then re-rooted (wanted a TWRP backup of rooted stock) using the OEM cable via the dock charging port.
No issues here.
