i tried installing a theme pack from substatum . it got stuck in boot animation (not a boot loop). how to resolve the issue.
thank you
Flash the stock image with MiFlash. You can choose to keep user data. Instructions here:
http://en.miui.com/thread-807252-1-1.html
Note: I only got flashing to work by putting the extracted ROM folder on drive C.

Can someone explain what exactly im doing wrong. So i keep getting suck at the LG logo after installing bliss pop (no gapps) heres my steps.
1. Power completely off.
2. Hold up and plug in phone to computer.
3. Restore phone back to 20o
4. Power up and root
5. Move all files to phone
6. Extract IMG from zip and Flashify recovery from here: http://blastagator.ddns.net/twrp.html
7. Reboot into recovery. Flash actual zip from above link (not sure if that actually matter)
8. back to main menu and reboot recovery
9. Wipe everything but internal
10. flash bootloader for 5.1.1 (D80030F(Bump LP)*) here: http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php
11. Flash Bliss Pop.
12. Wipe Cache/Dalvik
13. Reboot
And then repeats the cycle
Is there something im missing or doing wrong here?
EDIT: Got it working. Basically all the way up to step 9 what I did there was wipe again then installed the Stock LP ROM from blastagator and booted into it. I then went back into recovery wiped everything again flashed the D80030F bootlader the bliss and gapps. Working like a charm now. Whatever was in the stock lp ROM is what helped lay the grounds for bliss to work.
i have same issue. i can't boot into rom after flashing any rom using twrp. it just gets stuck on LG logo.
which stock did you flash ? the stripped lp rom from blastagator ? I still couldn't boot into OS.
btw i used ioroot if that matters. should i use some other rooting tool ?
Please Help- device stuck in bnoot
Current status:
Stuck in bootloop
Fastboot loads ok, can supposedly flash recovery_ramdisk & system
TWRP doesn't load after flashing recovery (or recovery_ramdisk with EMUI version) - I get "load failed" error screen
EMUI8 was probably not completely installed
Initial condition
Honor 6X w/ stock EMUI 5.1 (Nougat)
Traceback
Goal was to install LineageOS 15.01.
This is what I tried:
Unlocked bootloader (&wiped device)
EMUI8 was a pre-requisite, so followed this guide to upgrade
Ran script in guide, which loaded twrp followed by EMUI update screen (as expected)
EMUI update ran for a while, restarted (I think) at least once, but then showed failure screen
Tried rebooting- no system, stock recovery. (fastboot still loaded fine)
Couldn't install TWRP or use script anymore - after some research looked like this was because boot directories changed in Android 8 (recovery -> recovery_ramdisk)
Was able to install EMUI8 version of TWRP, but unable to flash rom or rerun update script (it used recovery2 partition, apparently changed to erecovery_ramdisk, which I couldn't flash to)
loading TWRP was unreliable, worked sometimes and didn't other times
Somewhere around here it seems like I deleted stock recovery (erecovery) while trying various workarounds
Tried installing ElementalOS
The included TWRP loaded, ROM Installation seemed to work but got error in the end (don't remember details)
rebooted device - can no longer boot to recovery ( Error screen: "Func no: 11 (recovery image) Error no: 2 (load failed!))
device stuck in bootloop and Flashing recovery_ramdisk/recovery has no effect!
can still enter fastboot without any problems
I'm hoping there's some way to recover to fix the recovery/system partitions so I can upgrade or at least revert to stock ROM!
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Well when bricked the first thing you should try to do is flash TWRP. Which isn't working now? Can you somehow re flash and boot into TWRP? What TWRP are you using. Please try this one and let me know if it boots.

Another thing you could try is Dload method. It requires an SD Card. Extract the Update.zip you downloaded on your PC and now create a Folder called Dload in your SD Card and copy the contents of the extracted zip into the folder. Put SD Card in phone and Hold all three buttons i.e. Power and Volume Up & Down at the same time. Firmware should start flashing. Once it finishes, while device is booting, press and Hold Power and Volume Up to boot into eRecovery and Perform a Wipe Data/Factory Reset. The Wipe Cache and reboot. If this works, then lemme know and then I'll help you flash a Custom ROM.

Thanks for the reply
Unfortunately TWRP doesnt boot (tried flashing the image you posted, same error screen- image below)
Dload method- I can't boot into erecovery atm- not sure if it's wiped or just can't be reached.
Also- the EMUI8 update I downloaded contained 3 zips- update.zip, update_all_hw.zip, and update_data_public.zip. do I only need the update.zip? (I can't boot into erecovery anyway, so it's a moot point until I do)

Ok the SW you downloaded is NOT a Dload rom, plus you do not enter eRecovery to flash it. Use the "force" method by pressing and holding all three buttons on power up.
Download a rom from here :-
https://androidhost.ru/
Also instructions are in the zip.

Tried downloading a rom from androidhost.ru- it had the update folder structure described,
and I put the unzipped dload folder into microSD root like the instructions said.
But pressing vol up+down+power doesn't load any update screen for me.
It just goes to bootloop again.
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks
I had pixel experience rom installed and tried to flash the new update when it showed error 7. Anyways, trying to fix it, i decided to wipe and install fresh rom. But when i try to boot to recovery now, the twrp opening screen comes up and instead of going into recovery menu, goes into boot loop. Tried flashing dummy img and flashing new twrp img too but same result. Tried booting to recovery using fastboot boot twrp.img too still same result.
btw device is redmi note 5 pro

Try reinstalling the stock ROM, it'll delete any modification brought to the device...
i was on 12.2.5.0 rooted with magisk (by patching boot image pulled from zip firmware).
Phone will no longer boot (stuck at MIUI logo) after i upgraded to 12.2.6.0 with magisk patched 12.2.6.0 boot image. I don't understand why. My steps for updating as follow:
1) flash stock 12.2.5.0 boot image to phone via fastboot before upgrade
2) downloaded 12.2.6.0 full receovery zip file, extracted the boot image and patched it via magisk; copied the patched file to PC
3) copied 12.2.6.0 rom to downloaded_rom folder in phone, upgraded phone with it via Settings
4) phone rebooted to 12.2.6.0 normally after upgrade
5) rebooted to fastboot and flashed 12.2.6.0 magisk patched boot image
6) phone will not boot (stuck at MIUI logo)
7) phone again boots normally if I flashed back stock 12.2.6.0 boot image to it
Any enlightenment to what i did wrong and how to rectify deeply appreciated. Thank you.
(I have used the above method to upgrade rooted LG phones previously and it always went uneventfully; unsure what other steps are need for Xiaomi.)

steps are good what u tried, at least i root mine every time with patched boot.img same like u. But im on Indonesian rom. didn't try 12.2.6.0 global or eu. But for sure steps u using is good. U can try older magisk manager app (maybe problem is new magisk)

After troubleshooting, I realized issue lies with Magisk modules. I neither deactivate nor remove the modules before updating the rom. It didn't occur to me this is necessary in the first place as previous experiences (on LG phones) did not call for it. After removing them, I am able to root the update via the patched boot image method.
For those facing the same problem, you can remove Magisk modules the following way (downgrading to the previous rom will not work as data partition will be corrupted):
1) grab a copy of the latest TWRP from MB
MBROMS - Browse /TWRPLMI at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
2) fastboot boot the twrp img file
3) decrypt your data partition using your phone's lockscreen PIN
4) download Magisk uninstaller from Github and install it
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v21.4/Magisk-uninstaller-20210117.zip
5) go to File Manager /data/adb/ folder and check whether there are any leftover traces of Magisk, manually delete any magisk, modules folder or files if they exist
6) reboot the phone into system and root it using the latest Magisk app (for patching of the previously extracted boot image)
I changed the Splash Screen via twrp wrongly, and the smartphone restarted in download mode with this message "Invalid boot image header can't get fdt download mode!!
I tried to solve the problem by reinstalling the original boot image. I installed the file (boot image) from an unofficial website, and the smartphone had other problems. (See attachments 1, 2, 3). So I downloaded the original rom from the sammobile site, extracted the boot image (attachment 4) and installed it via twrp. (see attachments 5, 6, 7, 8) Then the smartphone went into bootloop.
How to solve?
Sorry for translation errors, English is not my native language.
Re-flash STOCK ROM to get rid off of all mods you applied so far.
