I can't update my Google Pixel from Android 8.0 to Android 8.1 - Google Pixel Questions & Answers

Hi everybody, i have a doubt
I signed up for the beta tester program for android 8.1 via OTA on my google pixel, but when it finishes loading and reboot to install the version, it tells me that it can not install any solution, since several times I do, but I still can not upgrade to android 8.1, I am currently on android 8
I hope. can you help me thank you

The same happens for me too.. ( and for most people.. )
There is a fix for this.
1. Download the OTA update.
2. Goto settings and do a Factory Reset (YES.. a reset)
3. After device is reset, the downloaded OTA will be installed automatically.

[SOLVED] Cannot download OTA update

I have an OPO with the following firmware:
Cyanogen OS: 11.0-XNPH05Q
Android: 4.4.4
A while ago I upgraded to CM12 and decided I didn't like it, primarily due to the MMS issue. So I restored to 11, until now and want to upgrade. I go to About phone > System updates and get the following:
"An update is available for your system
XNPH05Q Incremental
A Cyanogen OS update, XNPH05Q Incremental, is available for your phone. You will be notified when it is ready for installation.
This will prepare your device for upgrading to Cyanogen OS 12.0.
Update size: 8.7MB"
The problem is, when I press 'Download update', nothing happens. Nothing. Nada.
Some information which may be pertinent:
Constantly connected to Wi-Fi
Device is rooted
I am currently overseas (in another country away from my usual home)
Xposed Framework with Xprivacy installed (I have tried disabling Xposed but upgrade still doesn't work)
TWRP 2.8.5.1
Any suggestions?
SOLVED
The issue was that the System Update process was disabled in ES Task Manager. When I enabled the process, the download proceeded.

Having trouble upgrading your phone?

I almost resorted to unlocking the bootloader of my Huawei Mate 9
So my friend and I swapped phone. I gave him my Huawei P9 and he gave me his Mate 9. The unit's stuck on EMUI 5 / Android 7. I know that later updates have been around for quite some time now. First, I tried searching for updates through the system updater-- didn't work. I flashed firmware through "dload method" which also failed miserably. Then I read that you can "force" an update thru TWRP. As a preparation, I downloaded HiSuite to backup some data on my PC. I sh*t you not, the app immediately detected an update. The app allowed me to update the phone (a series of updates though) to the latest version. So if you're facing the same predicament, try this out.
Download HiSuite for PC, install, connect your Huawei phone, and the application will then guide you on how to set things up. On successful connection, an option (HiSuite on PC) may detect an update for your phone. The app will download the update and install it on your phone. You may choose not to update too.
Tried same. Nadda. Still stuck on Android 7 and Emu 5

Unable to install Android 8.1 or newer Android versions on Pixel (Sailfish)

Hi,
After I manually erased all the partitions on my Pixel (Sailfish) by using fastboot erase < name of the partition) on bootloader screen (please don't ask me why I did that :-| ) , I am not able to install Android 8.1 or any newer Android versios on that. I can install only Andorid 7.11 to 8.0 versions from google factory image site.
if I install 8. 1 or newer version, the device constantly reboots and sometimes stops in stock recovery or on the bootloader screen. I have tried pretty much everything with no sucess. Before erasing partitions, phone was working fine with Android 10 with December 2019 updates.
I will be ok and satisified if I can at least get Android 8.1 with July 2018 updates. Can someone please help me figure out what the heck is wrong with my device. There is no physical, or electrical damage on the device whatsoever.
Thanks.

There is a difference and something strange, that I can't seem to grasp, between any version of Android 8.0 or prior and Android 8.1 or newer. some partition(s), checksum or a flag seems to be off...goddamnit!:crying:

Rollback from 12 Beta to Android 11 and an update that I can't get

Hi everyone.
I just bought a Pixel 4a and I enrolled in Android 12 Beta version updates and I got on Android 12 Beta, but then I decided to get back to Android 11. I did the flashing with the flashing tools website and then when the phone started and I got connected to the internet right at the beginning of the setup it says that I need to update my phone (I downloaded the latest factory image for September and flashed it on my phone) it says "Your phone needs to download an update and restart. Size 1617.2MB" when I click Next it gets to updating screen but it gets stuck there no matter how long I wait. I though maybe it is because I did it through the website so I did it manually using this tutorial but I have the same problem.
When I continue without a connection to the internet I can get passed this process and start the phone but when I check for the updates same thing happens.
Did I just broke my phone and I won't be able to get the OTA updates anymore?
no no no... You only have to unsubscribe from the website "android beta 12". Afterwards it will no longer ask for an update and everything will return to normal
