Hi,
I have a problem - every time I open the sim drawer and put it back in (with the sd aswell) some pictures get their timestamp changed. that makes the whole gallery a mess and there's no longer chronological order. the files names stays the same (with the right date and time).
it means that the problem is with the sd card or the phone? how can I solve that?
Thank you.
Stop taking the SDCard out?
Why would you need to remove the SIM / SDCard all the time? The phone has USB, use that to copy stuff over

I have a Droid and I want to use my Sd card in my camera then put it in to my phone to send the pictures. When I put the sd card into my phone after taking pictures it always says i need to reformat because the sd card is damaged. Is there anyway i can use it in both my both and my camera.
Hi,
Following are the solutions:
- First eject the card and reinsert it properly. Then switch off the phone and then turn it on again. I’m sure the problem will be solved.
- If the problem is still there, then check the card on the Camera again and take some new pictures. Some camera pictures didn’t show in phone, due to the resolution. Camera resolution is different than the phone resolution.
The card works fine it just makes me erase everything when i put in back in from the camera
No one can help me with this problem
i had a very similar issue... i turned on my phone one day, and it had at LEAST 1000 photos missing! i got some Photo Recovery Software to address the issue, only to find out that they somehow were corrupted from the phone start?? Either way, there is no known way to deal with this issue, other than formatting the SD card, and partitioning it; and even THEN you still have that stupid issue being a possibility! -__-
what kind of partition would you need to make
Tonight my 32 gb lexar micro sd card which also happens to be the gold card I rooted my phone with became nonresponsive. The phone tells me there is no card there, I put the card in my card reader on my computer, I can see the files but I can't retrieve the data from it. If worst case scenario happens and I have to try to reformat the card and consequently loose all of the photos, memories etc on the card, what happens to the gold card when reformatted. Will i beable to unroot the phone if I need to take it in. Does anybody have any ideas because I can find nothing and am just a little panicky.
Thanks!
Edit: Okay, I panicked, sorry. I see that I should have taken this to Q&A, and I have since found a thread that said that the gold card is not needed to reverse the root. That said, does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to save the card and the info on it? Has anyone had this issue with the SD Card suddenly being not recognized?
Actually, yes, I think there have been some users that have gotten that issue. Do a search for it in the general section and you should find the appropriate thread. The last time I saw one of those threads was a couple months ago.

I format my gold card once in a while it does not delete the gold card status but does delete everything on it. What I do is I create a folder on my laptop and copy evertyhing on it to folder then I format it. Place it back in phone and let it create the folders it creates then I just copy the pics and music back on to it. As far as the apps are concerned I have to redownload them all which I keep a list of on notepad in my computer. But I also like to reflash the ROM as well to start all fresh with the phone before I download the apps. But this is what I do there might be an easier way out there just search if you dont like my method. Good Luck

Are you trying to copy files from card while in the phone or out of the phone. Sorry the best I can come up with is the way I do it above. There is a program out there called h2testw_1.4 that I use to tell me if my SD card is a fake or damaged cause I use ebay often. It writes to the card then reads it back and tells you if written files were corrupted then tells you if card is damaged or fake. The only issue it takes a really long time to run the process, I ran it on my 16gb and it took about 4 hours before I got my results back but was well worth it. It also advices for best results card has to be empty. So maybe it may be worth he wait to copy files to computer unless files are there already and you can just reupload them after format and test. But again on a 32gb may be an all day process.

I took the card out of the phone and used two different card readers. When I left the card in the phone, the card was not seen by my computer.
Okay, I can't save the card, but I can slowly save some individual files if I let them copy overnight. What are some must-save files that I should try to salvage if I can?

I usually save only my camera pics and ringtones. When you format card and place back in phone it will create the needed folders so I dont worry about that part. Also like I said I always do a full wipe, reflash rom and start all fresh with redowloading apps. Any purchased apps you can get from market and redownload free since already purchased. I know its a pain but patience is a virtue.
When you format card run the h2test on it hate to see you throw away a card that might be good and its an app or file on it issue thats giving you the grief.
Question: Are you mounting and unmounting card to phone thru Settings>Storage?
Also are you placing sim card cover back on before seeing if phone is reading SD card?

yes, cover is back on and i do the mount/unmount. i had just completed a nandroid backup, it rebooted, and the sd card was no longer there, nor fully available on my computer thru a card reader. where do i get the h2test program? the only upside, is it was a new lexar card with a 10 yr warrany, but it will take up to 21 days to replace. but you are right, patience is a virtue.
thanks for the reply
Just Google h2testw_1.4
If you cant find it let me know I'll Megaupload mine for you.
Good Luck
Thanks for your help, but nothing could get into that card. I'm sending it back. Frustrating. At least I saved the pics

Hi all.
Since a couple of days I've noticed that the Sony Camera APP is not allowing me to save the pictures on the external SD Card.
Everytime I take a Picture, I get a small thumbnail with a orange circle around and if I tap on it, the image just dissapear.
This is pretty annoying as the same app asked me if I wanted to save the pictures to the SD card.
Any ideas?
I'm on latest available Custom Australian Rom rooted and with SD Write access enabled.
Thanks to all.
Did you manage to solve this? I'm experiencing a similar issue... Every time I configure the camera to use the external sd as its storage, after taking a picture, where its thumbnail should be shown, I only see a "waiting" signal and it never actually saves nothing...

did you try moving your dcim folder to SD card it has all you're pictures so be carefull. I did that six months ago and have wiped data literally 100 times since then
And it always asks me after a reset when I enter album if I want to change to SD i click yes and there has been no problems. This also is a good idea if you soft brick your phone alot like me as you won't lose your pics when doing a factory reset or flashtool.

It seem it was a problem with the SD... I replaced the SD and now works perfectly, though the previous SD is still working with other devices.
So I've noticed that my phone cant write on my sd card since file managers can't transfer files to the sd card, download managers also can't write on sd card saying that it's not writable and lastly, the camera can't access the sd card, saving the images and videos to the internal instead.
Anyway to troubleshoot this? Any help is appreciated ?
Try going into the apps menu, the menu button in the top right, and then reset app preferences. I had a similar thing where no apps could use GPS even with GPS permissions, after an app pref reset it all worked again.
I'm afraid there is a chance that your sdcard is done - happened to me as well, all i could do is backup it (since it was readable) and get a new sdcard.
Try with another sdcard, if it is writable, then old one is toasted.
I've read somewhere that it is the safety mechanism - if sdcard starts to fail it locks itself to prevent data loss.

It's toasted. Good thing it was a SanDisk ultra that goes readonly once its max cycle is reached. I did my research and came to a conclusion that my sdcard was done for, but not the files inside it so I'm pretty fine with it since I used it for years and my s7 is the 2nd phone I put it into. Might as well just buy another sandisk sd card. Thanks for the heads up
Hi, I have bought a new, larger SD card for my S7. The old SD contains only files, anyway in Samsung Gallery I have saved as "favourites" many photos that are saved on the SD card and I don't want to lose those preferences by unmounting the SD card before transferring all the data to the new one.
To avoid the problem I am thinking about switching off the phone, then removing the old SD card and cloning it to the new one, inserting the new one and switching back on the phone. This way the phone shouldn't (?) see any change. I had this done with a secondary drive on my PC and it didn't see anything happen besides the drive's model and capacity. Could this work on Android too?
I am thinking about cloning instead of just copying the files to be sure that all the "created on dd/mm/yy" etc data will stay the same.
I haven't found much on the web. Thanks in advance to anyone that will help
