I'm wondering if anyone has gotten Wi-Fi Calling to work with this phone? I've enabled it without success using a T-Mobile ASUS Router specifically optimized for Wi-Fi-Calling. ASUS Taiwan is telling me they think T-Mobile/MetroPCS has to enable Wi-Fi calling for this particular phone, even though I've used other unlocked phones with this router and Wi-Fi Calling before that didn't come from T-Mobile.

Since WiFi Calling is so flaky on all ICS ROMs I'm wondering if once the One-S comes out if we can take the WiFi calling app from that and use it on our Sensation and have it function 100% since the One-S is shipping with ICS and T-Mo WiFi Calling installed. What do you guys think?
T-Mobile's version of the One s does NOT have WiFi calling support yet, and the app is NOT pre-installed.
Ahh bastards!! Thanks for clarifying this I did not know.
No problem. There may be an update for the one s shortly after launch to add in the current version of WiFi calling support, but nothing is certain. T-Mobile is working hard on gen 2 of their WiFi calling feature (not just for android but across all smart phone platforms), setting up/leasing bandwidth on public WiFi networks to expand (artificially w/ hotspots) their coverage area into areas where their gsm network is lacking, thus also expanding the capabilities of the service itself. They are also working to solve the "hand-off" issue, so that calls started on WiFi won't drop when switching to gsm and vice versa.
I was attempting a file transfer between my NAS and Phone today, but realised that despite the Nexus 5 supposedly supporting 20/40mhz bands on wireless N, I was instead negotiating with my AP at only 72mbps.
I have a Asus RT-N16 router running Tomato USB and my other devices can connect at 300mbps fine, but there is something about my Nexus that won't. Even though I think its suppose too.
Now this is separate to 802.11AC, my router doesn't support this and AFAIK it may work fine compared to 802.11n.
So my question is, has anyone else managed to get 300mbps N link speeds on their device when using a 802.11n network spec @ 40mhz?
Seems for some reason my device is telling the AP that it supports single band 20mhz only and is defaulting to this low connection link.
I have tried different WiFi tweaks, switching too and from mobile data modes after some research on here and none of it helps, still stuck at 72mbps.
Hello,
I would like to have some explanation on how Wi-Fi calling is enabled on the d6603. My mobile operator (Salt Switzerland), has wi-fi calling service enabled, but on my d6603 there's not wi-fi calling option. For what I know, there are some operator, like T-Mobile, that enabled wi-fi calling on the d6603, so the phone is capable of using this feature.
My question is: wi-fi calling is an option of Android that should be enabled by rooting the phone, or is an option int the manufacturer's software?
Thanks
Edika
Today I've got some explanation from my carrier about WiFi calling. They say that they not sell any branded phone and at the moment the phones that support WiFi calling are iPhone 6 and Samsung s5 and S6 that have built in WiFi calling enabled, but they was not able to answer my above question.
So again: if someone can answer my question and explain me better if the WiFi calling is an android feature or is a special feature added by the carrier.
thanks
Edika

WiFi calling must be supported by both the carrier and the device. It is possible to use a phone that isn't supported by the carrier for wifi calling. For example i had a LG g2 at&t model on t-mobile which did not have wifi calling but the hardware supported it. I ported the wifi calling software from the t-mobile variant and it worked perfectly
So If I install the T-Mobile version of the Z3 software I will have wi-fi calling? Did you know where I can find this software?
Thanks
will volte work out the box for TMobile ? They won't activate phones on their network after a while if they don't support VOLTE.... Or any plans to update it in the near future. When will this go on sale in North America?

I am currently on T-mo, it doesn't do VoLTE currently, I know its possible via root and changing parameters. ALSO they just enabled VoLTE for their ROG phone 3 via an update so I will assume they will probably do the same for the ZF7, if not I will have to root it.
I asked an asus rep about sale in NA and they didn't have an answer from marketing team, so I bought mine on eBay
I'm beginning to think they will sell in in america especially if they enable volte for TMobile like they did the rog 3. I'm waiting to see if they enable volte on the 6 and the 7.
And then there's the OnePlus 8T coming in going to weigh my optione

This guy apparently has VoLTE already on his phone, unsure how though.
Will this work on att in the states? Also which model if so?
ATT will ONLY work upto 3g. You will see an H on top the signal bar which indicates a Enhanced 3g speed also know as HSPA speed connection. I have tried 2 new sim cards. I have tried several APN's I have tried all updates and a reset. No 4G and no 5G on ATT. Unless someone can tell me something new, this phone will not FULLY work on ATT. Text works. Calls work. Internet is sort of hit and miss with decent signal but again rather slow.
T Mobile will ONLY work upto 4g. No Volte although it seems to have the capability of Volte it cant not work with Tmobile Volte because it seems the cell bands are not compatible. Text work. Internet works rather fast, Good solid signal however no 5G and no Volte due to incompatible cell bands.
I did research on this subject and found that the ATT cell bands for everything including 5G do seem to be compatible with the 7 pro but again, it does not FULLY work oddly
I also did research on Tmobile cell bands and the bands for 5G are not even close to being compatible. Volte is also non compatible. 4g is compatible and works..
THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE TODAY AS I PURCHASED A SIM FROM EACH PROVIDER ( THIS IS A DUAL SIM PHONE) AND PLACED THEM BOTH IN THE PHONE.. I DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH>>>
IF ANYONE CAN GET THE PHONE TO DO 4G or 5G ID APPRECIATE THAT INFO>>
ASUS NEEDS TO DO AN UPDAT FAST BEFORE PEOPLE START TO RETURN THIS DEVICE. THIS AGE IS ALL ABOUT 5 G.. THIS PHONE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH USA. I DO NOT SEE HOW AN UPDATE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM SINCE THE PHONE IS ONLY PHYSICALLY CABLE OF A SPECIFIC SET OF BANDS WHICH ARE NOT NOT NOT THE SAME AS USA BANDS
Hi,
Is wi-fi calling supported on XQ-AS62, US Variant of this phone ? If so, which networks. I am specifically interested if the feature works on Tmobile or a Tmobile MVNO.
I see contradictory information on the forums and hope someone who owns the phone can give a definitive answer.

As mentioned on other thread:
"Nope, I am using T-Mobile and Wi-Fi calling is not supported(no option in settings), even *#*#4636#*#* menu shows Wifi Calling Provisioned toggle disabled and Off (VoLTE Provisioned is disabled and On)"
I did some research and there is no definitive answer to why Wifi Calling doesn't work with T-Mobile but I suspect it has something to do with Certification from T-Mobile, Sony and T-Mobile should work like they did for VoLTE to enable Wifi Calling. (Not sure if rooting and adding some config will change this but out of Box Wifi Calling is not working with T-Mobile)
Thanks for the information. I assumed the North American variant meant it would support all network features of US carriers.
I see Sony Experia phones in the past that did support wi-fi calling on Tmobile, so its surprising they have dropped the support on their flagship phones.
