Hello guys Im really sorry for bothering you but I have a Problem . I copied that
Pool Live Pro 8 Ball 9 Ball_v2.6.5_apkpure.com.apk apk from a trusted website for apks- Apkpure to the internal storage of my nougat 7.1.1 Sony Xpreria XZ Premium. It shows as normal apk file when my phone is connected to the pc and i can delete the apk file with no problems from my computer but when i restart my phone and that apk file is still there. I cant replace it with file with the same name - it shows the device is not connected , but i can copy any other files than that apk. The apk shows 47 mb when connected to pc, but when i see it in ES Explorer, SD Maid or the built in file explorer it shows 0b size. I can delete it with SD MAID and ES Explorer and some third party apps but it reappears with the next restart or even not a restart - only when clearing the data of sd maid and enter sd maid again for example and its still there . with the built in xperia file explorer i dont even have the option to delete it -only to share and thats only for that file. I copied the apk from the pc to another place of the internal storage [second copy] but in a folder and when i try to delete that folder the system recreates that folder with some random number in the original name of the folder, when i try to delete it again it creates even more numbers in the name. The apk can be seen in certain file explorers - it cant be seen in File Commander which i use most often
Im Not rooted and i tried to -
1 move it in a folder and then delete the folder[unsuccesfull - does not allows me to move] or replace, rename it with other file with the same name[unsuccesfull], delete it even with third party file cleaners and with some it shows deleted succesfully and next time i enter its still there [system recreates it]
2 tried Applcation checker apps but they show data only for installed apps
3 cleaned system cache partition, scaned with avg in safe mode [no problems found]
4 deleting it with ADB rm command --[ it shows me theres no such directory] - the full path of the ghost apk is /storage/emulated/0/Pool Live Pro 8 Ball 9 Ball_v2.6.5_apkpure.com.apk
Thats the adress of the apk - just type in google Pool Live Pro 8 Apkpure and its the first result
PLEASE guys help me Im confused a lot how can i delete that apk and is it a virus or something - I dont want to factory reset because i have too much data .

The captioned folder is repeatedly being loaded onto my android tablet, even after being deleted. What is the source and how can I block it or delete it permanently.
i have the same folder on my phone.
Safe to delete.
The files in this folder are pictures and appears to be some sort of leftover cache for an app UI. The folder and its contents can be safely deleted. If you want to be sure you can move or copy this folder to a windows PC and open the files in a photo viewer.
In my case they came from an app I tried a while back ago and then uninstalled called " Cleanmaster"
ATTENTION! Back up your original apk file BEFORE the mod as you WILL need it AFTER the mod is done..
Ok guys, so i decided to play NFS Most Wanted on my new device (LG L Fino) so i installed from market and started the app.. Ok BUT as many of you i was facing the "Not enough memory on device, clear up some memory to proceed" message. So i got angry and decided to see if there is a workaround of the problem. Well generally the problem itself is that my device (like many others) uses ONE memory chip which is split into TWO 2GB parts, the first is system only, and the second is user- accessible, BUT 1,2GB of that "user space" is flooded by system junk and bloatware etc etc.. So all you have left in the so-called Emulated SD is actually some 0.8 gigabyte which is not sufficient in any way, when you want to install NFS Nost Wanted, because when you start the app first time it asks you to download some 2055mb's game data and says you have 0mb free on device, when the actuall gamedata size is only 670mb.. So i found this workaround and i decided to share right away.. Enough talking - lets get to business:
Prerequisites:
ROOT IS A MUST HAVE FOR THIS JOB
Install RAR app from rarlabs (search on google play)
Install ES File Explorer
Install NFS Most Wanted from google play
Make sure of having at least 700mb free on internal mem.
Lets start.
First open ES File explorer and turn Root Explorer "on"
Then navigate to root/data/app and find a file named " com.ea.games.nfs13_na-1.apk "
Now COPY that file to the root of your ext SD (for the sakes of easy navigation)
Next click and hold on the file till you have it marked then from the popup menu (right lower corner) choose "Open as" (not extract) then choose "ES Archive manager" and once inside, navigate to /assets/downloadcontent .
There you will find a file named: "config.properties"
Copy that to the root of you ext SD and open it with text editor.
what you need is to find the two lines that read
TOTAL_SPACE_MB=2055
# TOTAL_SPACE_MB_MIN=440
and edit them to look like this:
TOTAL_SPACE_MB=0205
# TOTAL_SPACE_MB_MIN=044
Now close the file and save the changes.
Next open the RAR app and navigate to the root of your ext SD then click and hold the edited text file till a menu pops up, select "Copy to buffer"
Then click and hold at the apk file, select "Open as archive" (NOT EXTRACT!) and again navigate through assets/downloadcontent, then click and hold on a random file and from the popup menu select Paste, it should ask you if you want to overwrite, choose YES and close RAR.
Final step is to open ES File Explorer again, navigate to root of ext SD, COPY the now edited APK then navigate to root and /data/app and PASTE. Select YES to overwrite file.
Now click and hold the apk one last time, and from the popup menu (lower right corner) choose "Properties"
Right next to "Permissions" there should be a button named "Change" go ahead and push the button. Now you have to fix those permissions, you should see 9 checkboxes. CHECK the three ones that are underneath "Read" and check ONLY the topmost thats underneath "Write". ALL OTHER HAVE TO BE UNCHECKED!
it should now look like this:
.......................Read.........Write.........Execute
Owner:........(*)...............(*)...................( )
.
Group:.........(*)................( )...................( )
.
Others:........(*)................( )...................( )
Click Ok, close ES File explorer, run game, download 650mb gamedata and have fun (optional is when you download gamedata to use app like GL to SD)
if you mess up the process, start over-rinse-repeat
I hope i helped someone and if yes please feel free to hit thanks button ( no it doesn't bite)
Greetings from Bulgaria
Edit: I found out a bug and i don't know if it's only with my copy of the game after modding or if everyone of you who tried this has it. So...
THE BUG is that after i modified the already installed apk in order to download data, i happened to restart my device and when it booted it seemed like my copy of the game somehow "partially uninstalled" itself.. After a little digging i found out that it actually did uninstall itself, BUT only the apk - that meaning the data and savegame ARE still there..
THE SOLUTION is before doing the above mentioned walktrought you have to backup you Original apk first (using the backup app tool of ES File Explorer) and after that you have to reboot your device, install the original apk (it will tell you that this update has nothing new in it, thus not requiring any new permissions - install anyway) and you're good to go with a stable installed game..
BUG 2: after all done right, it happens that my copy of GL to SD app is not showing the most wanted in "linked apps" section and neither it is showing it in the "Move data" list.. Don't you worry, the game is still "in there" even when it does not show up on the lists, click the "mount" button and play as normal - it is working..
If there is some trouble i will be glad to help, just write a reply here and i will check my thread regularly.
Have a nice time guys... (Aaandd girls)
xD thanks a ton man, this helped me
Hi guys! I have an Xperia Z3 D6633 running on official Android version 6.0.1 with build number 23.5.a.1.291 rooted. My problem is that almost 5.0 GB of my internal storage is consumed by ".thumbnails" folder which I want to delete. I have searched some solutions and found out that normally people get some free space till these files reappear and in the mean time they can make this space useful but the case is different here. I have tried to delete this folder and all the containing files but even though the folder disappears for some time, I still don't get any free space even for a short time and the files start to reappear after some time. I don't have any Gallery other than the Album app and as it cannot be deleted, I have tried disabling but the problem still remains. I have also tried creating a new folder with the same name but the system would rename it to ".thumbnails 1" and another folder with the name ".thumbnails" would reappear . I had the same problem also with Lollipop on this device. I use FILE KOMMANDER, it is the system app.
Any help is highly appreciated.
Try MiXplorer from XDA (file commander isnt so good) then delete the .thumbs folder
Try Ccleaner from play store
Try SD Maid from play store
Try clearing data from Settings - apps - Media Storage (all your media will appear to be gone. It is still there but the phone wont see it until you reboot / download and run Media.re.scan from play store)
I wouldn't really know what else to suggest other than a clean install of your ROM even if it is stock as this seems like a bug

thumbnails folder store preview for all of your photos that you see on your gallery app (taken w camera or from whatsapp), if you want a smaller folder, transfer some pics to your pc or go cloud with google photos

FYI .thumbnails folder will always exist to make android media work properly, easiest method is delete those folder (.thumbnails) then create file named .thumbnails
In my case I'm using es file explorer, best file manager ever for me
You should accept all consequences, app that using photo preview from Android Media will not show or buggy (ie. Instagram, Facebook)

Hello
So far from my tinkering i have came to realize that after an android app gets installed the following directory under the root file system gets changed
/data/app : here the apk is stored
/data/app-lib : here the app's native binaries are extracted
/data/dalvik-cache : here the app's dex binary is extracted
/data/data : here the app's db & other files are created under a folder named by the app's package
i rooted my nexus 5
i then installed a simple app
checked the directories mentioned above and saw new contents
then i copied the particular app's contents from the mentioned directories and kept them in a separate folder inside the sdcard directory
i then uninstalled the app & checked the above directories. The files corresponding to the app were gone as per my guess
Then i have copied back the contents from my sdcard to the above directories to restore the app without a new installation
But Now the Android OS is not showing the APP along with the others , but WHY ? Does the OS creates a tree somewhere in the filesystem during the installation ? or If there is some thing else which i am missing which i can change so that the app reappears automatically without any new installation .
Thanks in advance
i have solved the problem .. after reset the app was automatically got by the OS , because the installd daemon starts with boot
Hey guys, first post in a while.
Recently I got struck with a weird bug: a folder in Android>data>com.appnameetc cannot be opened.
To be precise, the problem is the "cache" folder of the Mangarock Definitive app. Starting this morning the app wasn't working, and while cheching the app's info and folders I discovered that my phone (and my computer too) cannot open the folder and neither calculate it's size.
I tried to delete the folder with es file manager, the stock file manager and with my computer (my computer doesn't even see the folder sadly); I tried to uninstall the app and/or install previous version of the app but nothing: the folder cannot be opened or deleted, it drains some battery (media manager?) and it left me without one of my reading sources.
Is there a way to delete that folder, via phone or computer?
Ps: I know i can just do a factory reset, but it's my last resort because it's a pain for me to root again and setup my honor 8
I'm currently using Honor 8 FRD-L09 b380
Rooted, no magisk, xposed installed
Stock rom, twrp installed
