hi im new to this and just found this app and im wondering for updates should i do the updates 1 at a time or should i just do the latest one. im also wondering what if means when i use the check firmware access thing and it says that firmware is not approved for installation does this mean that i shouldn't do the specific update that i selected? i have mate 9 pro lon-L29c636b156 also is there any guide i can look at regarding updating.
and i also have some issue with group texts for some reason when i receive texts from a group text the texts doesn't create a group text conversation but instead the texts come in as individual conversations. so if im in a group with 5 people other people and everyone sent 1 text i would get 5 different conversations instead of it all being in 1 conversation. im currently using the default messaging app. im in the us and has att for carrier
I would suggest you perform a factory reset and if necessary install your device ROM again.
Afterward, check if this issues still persist.

I have recently got the X10i after yrs of a N95 ( sorry ), am doing my best to like the phone and am giving it every chance. I have lurked on this site and last week I rooted the phone and made it more personnal for me, thanks to the developers and those who provide the info for rooting.
I quickly removed the moxier stuff and also the messaging app but I am having issues with handcent sms, I wanted it for group/bulk texting tbh but it seems I have to restart the phone to get it to send a text to a group which has got 18 recipients.
Once the phone has started up I can send a group text no probs but the second group text will send to 1 or 2 of my contacts but the rest then fail, so I then restart the phone and resend the text and they get delivered, I have tried chompsms, grouptext and groupui, but each one gives me the same problem.
Has anybody got any ideas or another app I could try to resolve this issue ?
maybe it could be that the sms apps you use need (or work thanks) the main messaging app which were installed on the phone, the one you uninstalled.

I dont think it is that to be honest, I think it is more to do with the amount of contacts in the list, so I am hopeful that somebody confirms this and also gives me a better option.

Actually this could be true, as you should not remove core system applications, such as messaging.
so, you can try resetting your phone using Update Service software on your pc. I tried searching for an SMS app in my mobile folder to share with you, but there are several files that may be connected togheter, about messaging, and I am not able to choose the right one (or ones) to share.
In WP7.5 Mango... Does anyone know the maximum number of contacts that one can put in a group? I can't find this information anywhere.

This isn't defined, you can have a number of contacts to size mass storage.
Hmm. The reason I ask is because I made a group of 20 contacts and when I went to send a text, I received a message saying it was sending 19 of 20. I reduced the group to 19 and it gave me the message saying it was sending 18 of 19. So, I just wonder what that's all about? I have a Samsung Focus Ver. 1.3 with all the latest updates. I'm on AT&T's network

One of your contact has no phone number (or e-mail address). That is why you cannot send SMS or email to that one just everyone else.
Cina.
I was making a group and when I went to add the 21st person a message popped up and said the limit was 20 contacts per group. I then abandoned using the groups and havent tried anything since. I will most likley try again but in the meantime, maybe someone else has a more difinitve answer to this question.
Not sure if it matters but I am using an LG Quantum with ATT.
Question solved
Cina. Thank you. That is exactly what my problem was. I should have checked that but it just didn't enter my mind.
Abe F. I haven't tried more than 20 contacts in a group yet. However this is better that the 10 maximum limit in group type apps. using the previous version.
Thanks to all.
Yup... I just tried putting more than 20 contacts in a group... Not happening.
You also have to manually scroll to each contact when adding them... One by one by one... each time starting with the a's. It is very poorly done in Mango.
I have found out that AT&T limits the number of group contacts to 10 no matter how many the Group will actually hold. It will only send 10 txts.. Period..
in my opinion it doesnt make sense to have only 20 ppl in one group...
does someone know a workaround? maybe some kind of registryhack?
no news on this?, it's annoying to have only 20 contacts on a group...
I tried searching for this but it's so specific and I'm quite possibly using the wrong terms.
Let both of my LG G3 update to Android 6.0 (D85030p) and the default SMS messenger has stopped working with my text banking and retirement balance texts.
They will send and receive texts from other people but not these 6 digit numbers. No response from either one even trying to re-register the phone with each institution.
Google Messenger works just fine but lacks the only feature I like about the default G3 SMS, the ability to lock/keep a reply from being deleted. Even when deleting an entire conversation, the locked replies within are saved. That is the only feature I am missing.
Can anyone recommend another SMS app that has this feature or maybe there is a setting somewhere with the default SMS that I'm just not seeing ?
There are a million SMS apps in the play store and trying to read each one for details gets old after about 20 minutes. Hopefully there is a fix or another app that has this feature that someone here knows about.
Thank you.
Guess I'll answer my own question.
The Verizon messaging app has the features I'm looking for.
Hello all,
I'm having this really weird issue where after I recently wiped and freshly updated my Galaxy S7 Edge to Nougat, I started using Samsung's default messages app to see if I'd like it. Well long story short I decided to switch back to Google Messenger like I always do on every device I've owned, but when I install the app, and set it up. NONE of my SENT messages are imported to the app. Only the RECEIVED messages from my contacts. Every message I've sent to any and all of my contacts AND *some* messages received are just completely missing. I have no way of exporting the messages via the Samsung app to then import into google messenger, and I've tried using third-party apps and Samsung smart switch to backup the messages and then restore them, but they all only see and backup the received messages, and not the ones I sent.
This problem is only for the messages I've sent and received since the day I updated my phone and started using Samsung messages. Any conversations older than that, transfer successfully to google messenger.
I don't think Nougat or the update is the issue, but rather with something in samsung messages. I could really use some help! Thanks!

This is the stock "Messages" app version 1.121.492-rcs-Rel in the Moto G stylus 5g XT2131-1. This app is super glitchy and annoying the &@$# outta me.
First off, my contacts transferred correctly including message history but some were missing names.
2. Everytime I manually save a new contact I'm told "Contact not saved." However it is saved!
3. The messages app will prompt me to save a Group text with a title every time I respond to the already established thread. I have to enter a title and save before my response is sent. Now I have 12 group threads for the same damn convo.
4. Even though all settings are correct, I'm receiving read receipts checkmarks and see when people are typing and they see mine.
I'm running Android 11 build RRES31.Q3-60-47-2-2-2 on stupid T-Mobile.
Anyone else?
My only suggestion is to ditch the stock app and use Textra
