/vendor and /prodcut partitions both 0MB as seen from TWRP - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hi,
A few weeks ago I tried to flash one of the ROMs and ended up, somehow, without being able to boot, without OS and with /vendor and /product partitions being both 0MB and impossible to mount them.
I was following some instructions to unbrick the phone as explained in this thread by Secure.eyes.
I can flash RR ROM and adb is working without problems for me, but missing /vendor and /product partitions. It always fail when trying to mount them saying something like:
Failed to mount '/vendor' (Invalid argument)

, when I check both appear as 0MB from TWRP.
Anyone faced a similar problem and knows how to tackle this?

Try this rom.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3621374
It is TWRP backup so might work for you.
And always make twrp backup, it's useful in these kind of situations.

Will give it a go, let's see if it works. I made a backup of my phone before flashing a new ROM but no luck restoring it... :/

try downloading the firmware in erecovery.
it may fail while flash.
firmware is downloaded so recovery wil pretty much change now.
boot to recovery (stock)
and then do factory reset. It should work (I was in same situation before I tried debranding)

still failed

That's one of the first things I actually tried to restore the partitions but without any luck. In my case, since they died, they never came to life again. I remember flashing using `adb` and `dd` and /vendor sort of came to life until the next reboot. That's the furthest I could get.
At this point, I completely assumed I reached a point of no return with this phone.

So lost.. need help

So I (foolishly) tried to root and flash the Android Revolution ROM onto my phone but as I should have expected, I failed.I have a plethora of problems, and I am not sure what my best course of action is:
so
1) I factory reset, so I have no recovery or ROM on my phone currently
2)My phone is in a bootloop (loads the HTC screen with a disclaimer saying "this build is for development... yadda yadda yadda" and then reboots
3)My phone will NOT powerdown, I have tried to power down my phone through bootloader, and it re"boots" and returns to bootloader once again.
4)I cannot flash any files from my PC to my phone, for example: When I try to flash boot_signed.img from the Rogers Evita Stock ROM, using
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img, I get an error message saying "FAILED <remote: signature verify fail>" and this occurs for all files I have tried to flash
5)I have tried using ARUWizard to try and get the stock ROM onto my phone with no avail. From reading the forums I believe it is because my phone is using version 1.94.631.3 but the ARUWizard can only update to previous versions which is not allowed? (I am still very confused about this) one alternative I found on the forums was to create something called a goldcard but that required a microSD card which my phone does not have capabilities for.
So this is my dilemma, I think I am thoroughly screwed... any help or advice would be appreciated
You should still have twrp recovery even if you factory reset. Reboot into twrp, mount sd, transfer over a Rom that will work, wipe all and flash

I go to recovery, and it just goes immediately back to bootloader :s
I suggest starting with this thread and see what results you get.
You flashed a ROM for a different device that has a different partition layout, and that ROM installer may have possibly wiped out your partitions and left the device unrecoverable except through a JTAG brick repair
Have you tried flashing twrp again?

If you're getting to the splash screen, you're not bricked. Don't start the unbricking stuff yet.
You need to get to bootloader and push a new recovery image. You probably screwed up your recovery partition when you flashed that Tegra 3 rom.
Once you've got recovery back, you just need to flash a correct rom.
If that doesn't work, try running a ruu from bootloader.

Okay, Ive got recovery back, but I need help either flashing the rom or running a ruu from bootloader. I am unsure of how to do either.
I tried flashing my ROM using:

Just go into your custom recovery, mount sdcard, move the rom over, and flash in recovery.

Alright, well i tried installing the ZIP I had, and it said it failed...
Maybe I should try a different zip? could someone suggest a good ROM for me that is compatible with my phone? (dont want to make the same mistake again)
I just want a ROM that has Sense, and is running at least ICS. Stability and speed are my main concerns, thanks!

Before you do anything else, you should probably double check what phone you have.
Android Revolution HD (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562603) is NOT for the AT&T/Rogers One X or the Telstra One XL.
If you have an international One X, then you're in the wrong place. If you do have one of the phones listed above, then you need to go here and download one of those roms. Then flash using what The_Zodiac suggested.

Yessir, that'll work. (I've heard good things about that ROM, though I haven't tried it myself).
Just FYI, the One X on AT&T and Rogers is known internationally as the One XL, and as far as codenames go, is known as the Evita, as you pointed out. The international One X is the Endeavor, and ROMs are not cross-compatible. If you stay in the "AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL" sub-forums here, you should be alright.
What version of twrp are you using? Try rolling back to a 2.3.x version. 2.4.x seems to have some issues.

Okay, I think I am going to go to bed, and try to approach this problem tomorrow.
I am running TWRP 2.4.x so I may try and downgrade that tomorrow. I used adb to push the ROM to my phone and it is on my sdcard
However, when I try to install the ROM, it tells me that it failed... I tried clearing all caches etc but i keep getting the same errors. The weirdest part is that when I reboot my phone, the ROM disappears...
The error that I am getting is:
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E:Unable to recreate android secure folder.
E:Unable to mount '/sdcard'
E:unable to mount '/sdcard'

E:Unable to mount storage.

Obviously something to do with my sdcard is wrong, preventing connection between the sdcard and something else, but maybe you guys could dig deeper, past the elementary
Thank you guys for the help you've given me so far, the outlook for my phone is much brighter now, I will check back tomorrow and continue to try and fix my phone!
Your sdcard is indeed corrupted.
http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/sh...ountable-internal-storage-on-the-HTC-One-X-XL
Walk through that guide using the files for the Evita on that page, it should fix your sdcard. After that you can go ahead and push the rom to the sdcard again and then reflash and see if that does the trick!

I wiped the rom, in the site I downloaded the TWRP the instructions were to install the rom after cleaning cache, next I wiped the rom I searched for another recovery and I read this version is dangerous becouse it dont have any security advisements in the old posts, and if I wipe with that recovery y couldnt repair it becuse it dont have ADB or other methods for flashing another recvery.

So does the TWRP still work? You can put a ROM on the SDcard and flash it from there.
I think I'm in a similar boat with the OP. I'm getting rid of this intensely disappointing tablet in the next day or two. I booted into TWRP and selected the "Wipe Data" option, figuring that it'd be a good move to hand it over to new owner without any traces of my personal data on it. Well, since formatting it, I can't get Android to fully boot up. I installed PACman and Gapps from a microSD card, but it never gets past the splash screen where it says "LOADING". I really need to get this POS up and running ASAP, preferably with the least possible amount of downloading involved. My connection just got throttled down, so I'm hoping I don't have to download any huge programs. Any ideas?
But...
But the recovery can't mount /data folder and I can't install anything.

Hi
This may be a long shot but I encountered a similar problem and resolved it by flashing the recovery and kernel from here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625580. See the second post.
In my case I flashed the recovery from the above post, formatted data to f2fs from recovery, then installed the crombi-kk rom with the ”Don't install a kernel” option, then flashed the kernel from the above post.
Like I said, long shot, and this assumes you can run the format data option in twrp, but may be worth a crack...
Good luck.

Photon Failed to hab check for recovery: 0x56

So, I got my Photon Q today and I've already unlocked it and I was trying to install TWRP but I messed up somehow.. It still boots into the stock Android ROM and works fine but whenever I try to go into the recovery/Fastboot (Whatever it's called) I get this screen with some info text. At the bottom it says this:
Failed to hab check for recovery: 0x56
Fastboot Reason: Boot Failure
Whenever I try to flash a recovery with an app it always succeeds but I still get this screen when I try to go into the recovery. Help me.
Have you tried doing 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' instead of using 'apps' to flash recovery?

I've heard of other people complaining about this on TWRP.
You should either a) use OpenRecovery or another recovery... or b) use an older version of TWRP. I'm on 2.6.3.1 and it works _flawlessly_.
I haven't had time to update to the latest versions of TWRP to investigate this issue.
As for your CM issue, make sure you wipe (using a recovery that works haha) and also make sure you give it plenty of time to do the first boot - there is sometimes a fsck process which runs at boot and takes a lot longer than usual for the device to actually boot up.
Please help me. I can't find any solution and I can't boot into CMod.

Without logs I don't know what the issue would possibly be...
I would suggest trying CM10.2 perhaps? Or pull logs (adb logcat) from the failed boot of CM11. Like I said, that fsck process can take a very long time. I haven't personally experienced it, but I recall hearing reports of it taking upwards of an hour - either way, without logs, we don't really know what is going on.

Not what I was expecting, but this does show an issue with recovery... What is the issue, I am a bit baffled by. I was hoping for a logcat from the CM11 failed boot.
Can you try another recovery? TWRP seems to be failing all over the place for you, even the version that is working fine for me
TWRP is failing to mount a lot of partitions, which is obviously unacceptable. I'm still not sure why the older version wouldn't work for you...

Still not sure what you are trying to do, TWRP format of what? Just wipe system, data, and caches. Unrooting a pre-rooted ROM is just asking for trouble. If you need to go back to stock, flash the images via fastboot. There is no need to "format" anything other than a normal factory reset.

Like format everything delete everything. and I use the other way but it just bugs me 1 thing doesn't work on it. I also tried to do the flashing fastboot it just never works. those codes give me errors and when I restart I'm either at same rom I was before or I am at bootloop. but half the codes seriously don't work on my phone. Yeah I tend to go a little extreme and certain things been acting up so I thought a format would do

TBH, you are treading I dangerous territory... Erasing/formatting everything can be dangerous and potentially leaving you with a bricked device. Maybe if you specifically state what you are doing and is failing we can help because the factory fastboot flash method works.

TBH, you are treading I dangerous territory... Erasing/formatting everything can be dangerous and potentially leaving you with a bricked device. Maybe if you specifically state what you are doing and is failing we can help because the factory fastboot flash method works.

yeah screw what I'm doing I'm straight. I'm just gonna try the fastboot method but I just fear getting the errors cuz the sparechunks dont go thru and a couple ofother codes I cant remember them but everything else goes thru

Just follow the instructions in the thread in the General forum and make sure you flash the correct number of sparse chunks that are in your ROM. Best bet is to flash recovery, start it and do a factory reset, then restart bootloader and flash from beginning to end, if you get an error at any step, repeat it once, then continue... radios are known to fail on occasion the first time. If you are downgrading from what is installed, gpt.bin will likely fail, just try a second time then continue even if there is still an error.

Flashing missing SmartKey feature wihtout factory reset?

Something messed up with my installation so the apps of my "update_full_hw_spcseas.zip" are missing. Seems like there was nothing relevant inside but the SmartKey feature (and maybe the AutoShazam symbol). SmartKey is just missing in the settings.
Is there a way to flash the apk without factory resetting my phone? Found it inside the zip but my naive try to flash it with a TWRP-Template from the internet didn't work (data could not be mounted)...

Had this issue before. Better to start fresh from erecovery. Boot to erecovery, wipe data from there and select the first option to download and reflash the stock firmware.

Tried this erecovery flash several times in the last day but it doesn't seem to work wih my phone. Also don't get the official OTA Updates because my phone is from a different country (used Firmware Finder)...
So is ther another way to flash the firmware again (maybe dload or TWRP)? My "FRD-L09C636B380 FullOTA-MF" Update consists of update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip and update_full_hw_spcseas.zip.

You can try TWRP. dload method won't work while rooted.

Just flash the zips? In which order? And how do I pretend that the /data mount fails (if it does)?

Try the spcseas zip first then reboot. What do you mean pretend that the /data mount fails?

Already tried this yesterday, as well as together with the public one. Phone was bootable in both cases but buggy as ****. TWRP finished flashing them but said something like /data could not be mounted. As far as I know this is because the encryption of /data or something like that.

I see. Try formatting data to remove encryption before flashing.

Flashing the update.zip already fails: check_write_data_to_partition, write data error
Flashing the other zips isn't really successful, as well. Other ideas or should I just rollback by dload and update everything again (4th time for me )? Got a B380 TWRP Backup without root if that helps

From the looks of it, dload is your only choice left.
