S5670 won't start after unrooting - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

I tried to unroot my phone but it made my play store crash consistently so i tried and tried to wipe my device and tried to install a stock rom (i was completely new to android so i chose the wrong one i think) and it now doesn't start it just gets stuck on the boot screen that says galaxy fit. now i have a usb cable and i plugged it in and installed odin as per the guide for newbies (found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1606380) but my phone isn't showing up. I have installed the appropriate drivers as far as i'm aware and googling doesn't offer any results that are useful to me. My phone's stock rom is S5670VAUQ2 which i managed to find on an alternative to sammobile (i don't really want to pay for one download, and they don't give me the option to do a slow download which i thought they used to) all help is much appreciated and hopefully there are still people who have this phone thanks

[HELP] Looking for Stock Rom for Alcatel OT-983

Hello, and hope this is the right place to post this.
So, without any knowledge about all this smatphone/android stuff, I finally got one by a really good price. An ot-983.
Some friends conviced me to root it. I found a way to do it and noticing all the bloatware from it's original carrier (this phone was carrier unlocked when bought) I decided to clean up a bit.
I ended up cleaning a lot of stuff that I simply didn't use from a \custapp\ folder in there.
Thing is, a day latter I got a notification of a firmware update and I just said yes.
The said update failed, complaining it seems about the lack of some of the deleted bloatware.
Now, here's when the lack of thinking shows.
Wondering about it, I decided to look around options and found the factory reset.
Being a new and mostly empty phone, I did it (wiped clean the sd too),
And there, it went all into hell!
After reboot, it can't get my wireless anymore (have to use a static ip workaround for it...)
Root Checker says it's not properly rooted (using the same rooting technique as the first time doesn't fix it)
superuser still seems to be working, altho it crashes now and then with some errors about permissions.
also, can't get BusyBox working because it says there's no su binary and I can't download an update for it.
In short, I guess I need to get this phone to it's basics, if possible unbranded.
I don't really know what I need for that, but here I am, reaching at you that might help
I guess I need a stock rom and a way to flash it.
I'd appreciate a lot any help on getting whatever it is needed.
*cheers

I simply downloaded the drivers from alcatel website
and then used the root package from here: <can't post outside links. it's a thread on error-soft dot net
Followed the instructions on the .txt included and it worked.
After that I think I had to install Superuser app (from live store)
be careful. My problems came from deleting some stock apps included and then doing a firmware update.
so, don't delete stuff around if you're thinking in doing the upgrade.

Where did you get the upgrade from ?
My story is like this: rooted, uninstalled some bloat from system and after a factory reset I'm stuck in the initial setup wizard (after completing almost all stages from setup it crashes at the end, after connecting at the google account - tryed to ignore that step but either way it crashes). Fastboot works but adb don't.
I do have another identical phone Alcatel One Touch OT-983 but with no root, with no modifications. Is there a way to backup the original/stock image and flash it over the malfunctioning one and restore it??
I tried with the proprietary upgrade tool from Alcatel but no succes as it close saying I don't need an upgrade because it's the last version of software installed in my phone. I thought even to broke intentionally the rom but I'm afraid that the upgrade utility from Alcatel will let me down, as I read that another users didn't managed to complete successfully the upgrading process. Is there a way to trick the system that has a previous version of Android?
Thank you for taking your time to read this and hope someone has an idea to solve our problem.
Have a nice day guys, you can contact me at puiocku at gmail dot com.
Have someone this stock rom (for Alcatel One Touch 983 (Valencia)) ???

I recently "semi bricked", if my Alcatel OT983, if that's possible. It would not boot fully and got stuck on the "jrdsetupwizard has stopped" screen.
Here's what I did. The issue with getting the Alcatel One Touch Upgrade software to work appears to be getting the correct USB Driver installed. There are a number of potential USB drivers. This phone needs the driver in the Alcatel One Touch Upgrade. The stock Windows one or the one used for rooting the phone using instructions from the errorsoft website from the oneofgod will not work with this upgrade procedure.
1. Download the Alcatel One Touch Upgrade software and install on your machine. Open up the folder where the software is installed.
Look inside the folder that is called USB Driver and look inside the appropriate folder for your type of Windows machine 64bit or 32bit (x86) and install that driver for USB - that is the correct one for the upgrade
2. Run the upgrade software whilst connected to the internet. Connect your phone when it is off. You should just get the Android icon i.e. not charging or anything else. The icon should just stay there all the time the process takes place.
3. The upgrade will download. It's when the process gets to about 70% that the phone the starts upgrading. It will take a few moments but when it starts progressing into the late 70s and 80s you should be well on the way. At least that's how it went for me and I got my phone back!
Hope this helps.

Tanks for share the ROM.. I need it to recover my friends phone..
I just got this phone, not looking to root it yet as theres no option for a custom rom yet.
didnt want to start a new thread as theres not really any section for this phone yet.
Everything was fine until i installed the firmware update. Now applications cannot access the mic. Some complain about it being in use by another app. others like video editor or sound recorder will record, but the video recorder there is no file, and sound recorder crashes when you hit stop.
Alcatels website is useless, wasnt working yesterday, today it is but cant find any contact details incase its a bug in there firmware. Everything works fine except for that. Which is annoying because i use RTA software and now it doesnt as it cant access the mic.
any ideas?
Hi guys,
I've rooted my phone with abd and udpate.zip a long time ago, and it was fine till some days ago it stopped from receiving calls and the home button does nothing when pressed, although in recovey mode it works.
I've done a hard reset, reflashed the recovery.img, system.img and boot.img I've found in this post with fasboot, but did not solve the problem.
I've tried a firmware update with Alcatel's own software but it just keeps saying my firmware is updated already. I've also tried to edit the proinfo file, but I don't know what to change in the file. You can see more about that method here: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/9772370-post8.html
My guess is that the files that are corrupted and preventing me from receiving calls are somewhere else than those img's I've flashed. Has anybody got a FULL backup of his rom (e.g. Rom Manager) so I can recover the phone completely?
Thanks!

boring rom installation problem question. help much appreciated

hi, first time poster here.
i have searched exhaustively on this site and google for hours but, couldn't find an answer to my question. desperately in need of some help please
i recently purchased a Jiayu G3 and installed JellyBean. turns out Wi-fi and bluetooth now don't work due to incompatibility of my older version phone model. i found an alternative rom to install on the forum here with instructions but, i am having a problem...
apparently i need to install mobileuncle MKT tools so i can do recovery update and use clockwork mod (CWM) to install the new rom.
problem is i can't download mobileuncle tools. my wi-fi isn't working and i cant download it via my mobile network. i get error 927 when i try to download it via the play store. this could be due to a really poor connection speed, for some reason. after 10 minutes of trying to download the 1.02mb file it eventually fails.
would it be possible to download the mobileuncle tools via my laptop and then put it on my phone on my SD card? i havent been able to find anywhere to download it online and then i am not sure where or which folder i would put it in. if this works, does anyone know please?
or perhaps there is another way i can install a rom? to be honest i would be quite happy to just restore the stock ICS. i just want to start using my new phone...
thanks in advance :good:
hi, just to provide an update, i have managed to install mobileuncle tools but the flash recovery does not work
i have been following the instructions from here
watch?v=yuXdOjXQwGo[/url] (i can't post links yet according to forum rules but that is a youtube link)
instead when i reboot in recovery mode i just get the picture of the little android guy on his back with his front open and an exclamation mark displayed.
i know this is tedious, but please, any help would be great. i'm stuck
i tried following the instructions on this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163707
i managed to do it all or so i thought. after unzipping the rom i restarted the phone but it gets stuck on a CyanogenMod logo. after half an hour of the loading ring going round i don't get any where. i have tried doing it in safe mode but same problem
please someone, help
taking to myself here
well I have managed to get past the screen. however, the rom i used does not work still does not allow the wifi and bluetooth to work.
does anyone know where i can download the original ICS stock rom for the Jiayu G3?

Restore Samsung Captivate Glide Bootloader (SGH-i927)

Hi all this great community, I have a serious problem with my phone Samsung Captivate Glide, and to install an application and hence fails to restart the logo of "samsung" and there can be hours, and try what they recommend in I have seen posts around here, removing the battery and waiting, by the way if I get both download mode and the recovery mode, and from there try to Re-Flasharlo the Official Stock ROM using Odin if I recognized and well if you did it correctly, but when I reboot again returns the logo of "samsung" and hence fails.
I also searched about it on google and other forums and especially the well known XDA say it is problem with the bootloader, now the question and doubt is like to recover or repair the damn bootloader, I searched on where to find some bootloader for my model, I have since seen some videos of other models of samsung as S and skyrocket with the same problem, there are the flash with odin also give the files of both the Bootloader, PDA, CSC, Phone callers flashing tools but I have found for my model.
I have also done the wipe's appropriate and even factory reset in the recovery mode and still nothing happen the logo.
By the way I had my phone updated to ICS 4.0.4 before I pass this problem because it came with Gingerbread 2.3, plus what I had rooteado with a program called "Kingo Android Root" which by the way is very effective and made me in less than 5 minutes without problem, I say all this for more information on this issue, if not affection to be something super-user.
I have also researched that used to do this with a "Riff Box Jtag" said the problem is not because I have no knowledge about it other than it requires special equipment
There will be some form of damage or repair this and my phone is garbage
I hope you can help me or guide me to do, I thank you in advance for your input and assistance.
Thank you ..
PD: sorry if my English do not understand because I do not know well

[Q] Messed up rooting hoping to find a fix

I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S6 and decided to root and install TWRP for a custom rom. I was able to root the phone and then installed their android app. TWRP Manager (ROOT).
After that I went to the app and one of the sidebars labeled install TRWP on the app then to the codename zeroflte for the Samsung Galaxy S6. It told me to restart my phone and I did but after that I was not able to use my phone again. Whenever I would turn on my phone it would show the normal Samsung s6 screen with a unlock picture and the words custom underneath. After that it would display a turquoise color screen with a words
Start Up Failed. Your device didn’t start up successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device.
I tried to google and see if anyone had a similar problem but nothing popped up. I don’t know where to find a copy for the Verizon Software Repair Assistant for the Galaxy S6.
I also tried and factory reset the phone or anything but the only combinations of buttons that would work on my phone were the down volume + power button. It gave me a list of options including factory reset but every option that I chose would lead me back to the same screen. The turquoise screen saying Start Up Failed.
Any help would be great. I don’t know what to do now. Tomorrow I am going to down to a local repair store and see what they can do. But if you know of anything that would be great. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Have you tried to Odin back to stock?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/development/5-15-stock-odin-tar-t3109676
Ya, you'll need to odin back to stock like he said. And TWRP isn't available for our phone since we don't have an unlocked bootloader. Do not try and install TWRP again. You'll want to use Flashfire if you need to flash anything.

Keep in mind XDA is a community for developers by developers. People are also willing to help, but you got to put forth your own effort. You will get ignored if you think people on this site are going to act as free tech support. Your question is posted just a few posts down from a link to the process on using odin to return to stock. You need to just follow those instructions. If you don't understand a step then Google it. I'm saying this because I noticed you joined XDA to ask this question. Or at least it's your first post. You will make a lot of enemies here if you don't take the time to read and research things before posting.

If you have an edge you should use their forum. It's different than the GS6.
Just had to Odin my Verizon S6 (sm-g920v) to get it back to factory defaults.
I've been rooted for months with no issues and have known my bootloader was locked with no nice way around it but then i read some stupid guides saying to go get twrp manager to load custom roms on the Galaxy s6 phones and they even included the sm-g920v model number. I went to the app store, downloaded twrp manager, followed the first few steps, rebooted and that was that. Could not boot up anymore without Start Up Failed. A few checks and warning would have been greatly appreciated from the app developers but oh well.
Well that was fun. Now to redo everything on my phone.

Same exact crap just happened to me. I was running CleanRom Lite....thought I could use TWRP...some times I do stupid things...should have just stuck with FlashFire.
I've tried odin back to stock, it keeps failing. it says nand write fail and it stops. I've tried many different times. I've run Odin 3.10.6 and 3.10.7 I have the latest drivers, it recognizes the device but it will not load anything via odin. I've tried on two different computers as well.

I have a Galaxy s6 edge btw. Not much info on the edge, in desperation, I'm combing thru galaxy s6 forums seeking answers. I have been rooted for awhile. I wanted to turn off the nagging volume warning so I downloaded a zip file to flash but only to find that my twrp recovery was no longer there. So I try to download twrp and flash. Now I'm in a boot loop with the turquoise screen telling me to use a verzion tool to reset the device. Klies says my phone isn't compatible as well as smart switch. Odin fails every time after NAND WRITE. I'm about to microwave this crap and get new phone.

Did you ever get your phone up and running? I ran into similar issue with odin. After looking around on web I found a forum that mentioned using an older version of odin.

booting problem (probably softbrick) with the SM-G532F (Samsung J2 Prime (not the Samsung galaxy grand prime which came up when i searched SM-G532F))

hi everyone, this is how it happened. i tried to root my phone using king root in the phone but i couldnt find app on play store so i tried downloading it from chrome, i found the site and tried to download the APK but it didnt work ( i tried to do that on few other sites on few other apps), so i thought "ill just search it on google or youtube". on youtube everyone said that i needed Kingroot or something like which required me to download stuff from chrome (which i couldnt do) so i decided to root my phone using my pc, so i found this Vid
heres the problem though, i think my usb drivers suck (maybe cuz' im still using Win 7, which is also not genuine?) so ignoring that fact, i tried to install file corresponding to SM-G532F model with odin. i somehow managed to fail over and over, until i eventually tried look up the USB drivers sooo i found this https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html and installed it, after i did that something changed instead of instantly failing to stuff Odin actually started to do something and then stop (there was a certain log that made it stuck) then i tried to restart the phone but not in the normal way. i removed its battery and put it back, Odin got stuck exactly like before, that kinda scared me, not gonna lie, so i tried to turn the phone back on, but i couldnt (i cant recall exactly how it didnt start but yeah overall... it didnt), that made me search stuff in google yet again i found this
and i forgot to check Softbrick fixer 1:43, it didn't do thing there was just an error then i tried to get the batteries out and in again i also tried installing this too https://softfamous.com/postdownload-file/media-transfer-protocol-porting-kit/24862/10050/ when i finally did that, hijacking actually worked... or it said that it did, when i tried to start my phone with volume up+lock screen+home button it seemed like it started but it just didnt stop and even after 15-20 mins of loading it didnt finish doing it.i tried turning it on several times every attempt ended with failure. after that i tried once again to find answers on youtube so i found this guy
he said that file which i need to install can be found here but i cant find it here when i searched SM-G532F stock rom odin xda i found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/installing-stock-rom-on-sm-g532f.3672884/#post-75474147 thread which was about Samsung galaxy grand prime (that model somehow shares the name with my model?!), as the video first way is the easiest and it has the odd to be the most successful of all, soo i came up with this website and thought to myself am i doing everything right? should i keep doing what im doing, what if im messing my phone even more than it is right now, and i wrote this just to make sure what to do. thanks in advance!
Re-flash phone's Stock ROM.
BTW:
On Windows PC you have to install "Android USB Driver" provided by Samsung, if not done yet, too:
Samsung Android USB Drivers for Windows (Latest: v1.7.59)
Download latest Samsung Android USB Drivers for Galaxy mobile phones/tablets to transfer files and flash firmware using Odin. Compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and XP computers.

heres the problem though, i think my usb drivers suck (maybe cuz' im still using Win 7, which is also not genuine?) so ignoring that fact, i tried to install file corresponding to SM-G532F model with odin. i somehow managed to fail over and over, until i eventually tried look up the USB drivers sooo i found this https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html and installed it, after i did that something changed instead of instantly failing to stuff Odin actually started to do something and then stop (there was a certain log that made it stuck) then i tried to restart the phone but not in the normal way. i removed its battery and put it back, Odin got stuck exactly like before, that kinda scared me, not gonna lie, so i tried to turn the phone back on, but i couldnt (i cant recall exactly how it didnt start but yeah overall... it didnt), that made me search stuff in google yet again i found this
and i forgot to check Softbrick fixer 1:43, it didn't do thing there was just an error then i tried to get the batteries out and in again i also tried installing this too https://softfamous.com/postdownload-file/media-transfer-protocol-porting-kit/24862/10050/ when i finally did that, hijacking actually worked... or it said that it did, when i tried to start my phone with volume up+lock screen+home button it seemed like it started but it just didnt stop and even after 15-20 mins of loading it didnt finish doing it.i tried turning it on several times every attempt ended with failure. after that i tried once again to find answers on youtube so i found this guy
he said that file which i need to install can be found here but i cant find it here when i searched SM-G532F stock rom odin xda i found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/installing-stock-rom-on-sm-g532f.3672884/#post-75474147 thread which was about Samsung galaxy grand prime (that model somehow shares the name with my model?!), as the video first way is the easiest and it has the odd to be the most successful of all, soo i came up with this website and thought to myself am i doing everything right? should i keep doing what im doing, what if im messing my phone even more than it is right now, and i wrote this just to make sure what to do. thanks in advance!
