Im waiting for the PdAir leather flip case to come up, but meanwhile I spotted this for £20. Works for both Desire and N1. What you guys think?

That looks a good price £20+vat = £23.50
Proporta are charging £30!

Yes. Not bad at all... not sure if the PdAir one is better... below a sample of one on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PDair-Genuine..._PDAsAccessories_PDACases?hash=item335c381f19
I had PDair before - and I do like their quality. The Alu leather one seems to keep the whole screen free from obstruction, which I like...
The problem with the PDair, like the one for the HD2, is that the leather along the sides of the screen actually make it more difficult to use the touch screen at the edge of the screen. I prefer the Clove case mentioned above and a similar design from Noreve.

I agree with that. I had a PDAir case on a previous phone and found it did restrict access to the edge of the screen and also to the buttons at the bottom.
On the other hand, I am worried that the Desire Alu Leather flip case does not protect the edges of the phone from other things in the pocket and, even, whether small coins can slip under the cover onto the screen.
I may have to stick with a simple pouch. (But I also like the look of PDAir's Luxury Silicone Case like they make for the Nexus One.)
Good point.. the sides are open, but I think it should cover if it falls on the floor etc. I think I will go for the Prpoporta alu case, but get a screenprotector film as well.
Just orderered the Alu-Leather case from Clove. Will let you know when get it and how it feels.
Got the Alu Leather flip case today. Looks great!!! Finally I dont have to worry too much about scratching or damaging the phone. It looks stylish with black and inside white leather. It gives access to the headphone jacks and is easy to open quickly to answer calls etc.
Seems keeping the phone sturdy in place and nothing blocking the screen (unlike PdAir).
Will let you know how it feels after couple more days use!!
But looks really stylish!
Is the stud used to close the cover stands over the screen? I like flip cases, but on most of them the studs is just over the screen, and I'm worried about been able to broke it.

The stud.. or magnetic button... stands almost exactly over the optical trackball. But I wouldnt worry at all as the cover is lined with aluminium sheet. Means its well protected from impacts to the front and back of the phone.
How much depth would you say it adds to the phone?
Are you able to upload any pics? Would be awesome if you could, particularly one with the stud closed
Here are few pics... please dont pay attention to all the dust that the flash picked!
It does add little depth to the phone - as does PdAir etc. At least it has a aluminum layer strengthening it, but with the leather its smooth. I got this phone on a 24mth
contract so I want to protect my baby well at least for the first year or so...
Jannen, what is it like taking portrait photos now with the flap at the top? Does it get in the way at all?
Just took some pics... just hold the flip with your left hand. To me, no big deal really... and as it was sunny the flip actually blocked the sun reflecting from the screen. But honestly, I think that is personal taste. I prefer flip cases to others as they give some protection if you drop the phone while using it. Slip in ones dont protect if you drop it while using it.
Okay guys I'll start this off by saying that I am not impressed with the current case selection for this phone. Now, let's begin with the review.
1.The first case I'll start with will be my Rearth Ringke Fusion hybrid case. I loved this case to death when I first received it on the same day I got my phone, and it has been my favorite case since I got my new one (more on that in a minute ). It feels great in the hand, as it's completely ergonomically similar to the phone itself, and the button feedback is a dream. The clear plastic back has much to be desired, however. The plastic smudges, smears and attracts fingerprints like no other. It also is slippery. VERY slippery. Keep in mind that I have hands that are almost always moist in some form or fashion, so the back plastic of this thing felt like butter. All in all, a very good case and I highly recommend it, except for those with moist hands!
2. Next is my replica Google official bumper. (Replica is perfectly identical to the actual one.) I bought this bumper in conjunction with a carbon fiber dbrand skin, (I still have that on, props to dbrand for making the best skin in the world!) and I was honestly a little disappointed. The stippled texture that bands the sides and sandwiches the fake aluminum plastic piece together feels amazing in the hand. My moist sweaty hands had no problems gripping this bumper, except for the fake aluminum plastic piece that I just mentioned. It's not totally matte, but it's not totally glossy either, it's an odd mixture that feels great to touch, but for me it was a tad slick. It wasn't nearly as bad as the Ringke Fusion case but it was enough for me to take it off sometimes. The buttons clicked with pride and although it did add quite a bit of width to the phone, it had an awesome fitment, no flex or peeling of materials found on this bumper! I would still definitely recommend this case despite the negatives.
3. The other day, (Friday), I received my Mercury TPU case (black), and boy let me tell you something. My hands promptly said NOPE right when I got it on the phone. For some reason I must've been on some crazy drug and bought the thing thinking that it would be some grippy, sticky rubber case. WRONG. All I'm going to say on this one is, misaligned speaker and microphone cutouts, super slippery and the finish on the face of the skin where you see it almost all the time has an orange peel look to it, almost like a ZAGG screen protector. However, the sparkles on the back really made me want to play some funky music!
4. Today, (about 15 minutes before I wrote this), I got my Ringke Slim case in the mail. One complaint: I got an older version, the one with the loose volume slot, but it's not a big deal as I can't really hear any creaking. Other than that minor mishap, for the fifteen minutes I've been using this thin case, and it is EXTREMELY thin, I'm proud to say that this is my favorite case thus far. The matte finish has a soft-touch coating on it that feels like heaven, the button cutouts and speaker, mic cutouts are spot on and without flaws. Most people don't notice it, but this case actually has four little feet on the screen side on the case that allows you to set the phone on it's face and not get the screen scratched. Nice!
The complete lack of top coverage is nice FOR ME because I can finally put my ATH-M50's in my phone without having to remove the case! :good:
Keep in mind that the Slim is a totally different case than the other three, most similar to the bumper however.
Here are links to each of the cases on their respective websites, (if such site exists).

4. http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-ringke-slim-case
I've been in search of a case i'll actually like. Been thinking about getting the ringke slim but i'm just afraid of the lack of protection. I've never dropped my n4 but for that one time that i do, it'll be great to have the protection.
I also have the ringke fusion, it's a nice case but the back gets dirty and gross pretty easy. The official bumper just feels bulky and my headphones don't fit.
got my Ringke Slim 4 days after i got my n4, had the official bumper ordered with the phone but it just made it too bulky for my taste.
Had my ringke the rest of the time and never looked back. it IS the best case i've ever used on a phone. this comiing from a person who doesnt like to put cases on phone but with this phone just wanted that extra protection. its very slim and doesnt add any bulk what so ever. going on 6 months with the slim and still rocking it.
I own three of the four cases that op reviewed. Exactly my same thoughts for the most part. Pretty well done review. Kudos. Although I would be semi cautious about the official bumper as its known to cracking on the bottom of the usb port. The slim is a really nice case but if covering the back isn't your thing then it isn't the case for you.

I would be tempted to request another one, mine is an absolute perfect fit with all the cut outs being in the correct places. Regarding its slippyness after a couple of days use it starts to get more grippy.
Out of the 4 cases i have bought for the Nexus 4 this is the only one i have kept lol
The Rinke Slim i had was the worst of the lot, made my phone really slippy and offered zero protection.
Honestly I'm surprised there aren't more people using/reviewing the Acase Superleggera pro. I've tried a hatful of cases and by far the Acase is perfect for me. The only complaint that people have for it is that it's bulky, but for me that's a pro. I want my pocket to feel slightly heavy (like 40 grams more than the phone?) to know that my phone is still there, and then I can avoid those mini heart attacks that you get when you think you've lost your phone.
The protection is the best out there,it looks great, isn't slippery at all, feels premium in your hand, button feedback is excellent, not too much of a fingerprint magnet and doesn't interfere with my screen protector.
The only downside is that the back isn't transparent but you get over that initial fascination of showing off the back soon anyway.
I like the Acase pretty well. The amount of lint that it picks up bothers me more than anything. I think it would be nice if the inner case was a light - medium grey, so the lint is less apparent. I have the Mercury, Superleggera, Ringke Slim, and Poetic bumper. I change them out all of the time because I'm not completely satisfied with any of them.
Sent from my Nexus 4
since you have protection on the back and you are using the Rinke slim which is made to fit precisely, do you feel like it is adding too much pressure to the phone? I have a feeling that may have happened to mine and when i squeeze the top part of my phone it creaks. I'm not sure if this was the cause, but if yours has zero creaks then I will assume it is safe to have the skin on the back along with the case.

I ordered one of these yesterday after reading many reviews. Looks like the best bang for the buck and some decent drop protection, which many of the other cases don't have. I also like the fact that the measurements have it only slightly more bulky than the Diztronics case I have, so it will fit in my leather holster perfectly.

I bought a Minisuit (transparent) for protection when going camping, beach, or a very wet day. And I also bought the Poetic bumper. The minisuit is great, the only problem is that the power button sometimes is hard to press. With the Poetic I had problems with the first unit they send me, it broke in a week. I called poetic and they replaced the bumper with (2) new ones, they told me that they had problems with the first batch they ordered, but they assured me that the new one was perfect, today it's been 4 months since I'm using the Poetic and I can say is been great, no pealing, no plastic coming off, and I still have a replacement new one just in case.
I got a white color of ringke slim case. the material is too slippery. never like it. plus the corners feel really sharp by touching it it may scratch my N4.
I ordered Incipio feather case. It may not be slim as ringke but it feels really good.
I really like how the premium materials on the s6 feel but it's likeholding a piece of ice dipped in lube.. crazy slippery. this also makes for very awkward hand positioning if you dare use one hand (which i attempt to do).. this phone is already kinda too-big for me ... also, it's incredibly insecure inside a pocket. if you lie down, it will fall out. if you're wearing something loose like sweat pants and sit down, it will fall out..
i'm looking for a solution to improve grip but i HATE cases .. especially on a phone this big. something like a skin/wrap seemsperfect but I'd like to know how much grip these add. Ideally, I feel like 2 thin strips of a grippy vinyl along the edges would be enough but more realistically, a full back wrap would likely be the way to go.
dbrand and slickwraps seem to be the most popular ones. i like the look of the leather wraps but it seems like they feel more like paper in person (based on youtube reviews). I wish someone made a clear full-back cover made out of a gripper plastic (like old school palm pilot screen protectors).. that would likely work.
anyone have experience/recommendations?
The InvisibleShield HDX by Zagg works really nicely for the S6.
I've got to say, though. Nothing could be more slippery than the HTC One M8. Awesome phone, but very slick.
The official Samsung shell case adds some grip while still retaining the look of the phone. It's lightly textured hard plastic.
I remember seeing a post a long time ago where someone sprayed Plasti-dip on the back of their phone. I'm sure that would definitely add grip, and it is reversible. Not sure it's something I'd want to do, but it is an option.
Just did a quick search :
http://lifehacker.com/5716776/diy-rubberized-phone-backing
P.s.- you can get Plasti-dip in multiple colors, including clear.
I am really loving The neo hybrid by spigen.
Probably a bit thicker than a skin, but still minimalist, try the Spigen thin fit BLACK color. The other colors (maybe there aren't other colors for the S6?) are slippery. The black one has a very nice grip, but still easy to take out of pockets. Also, it protects the camera lens .
I have the Samsung shell case, seriously its like having no case on the phone but does add grip

Comes in other colours.
a suggestion
You might want to look at the Tech21 Evo Check at Best Buy. It adds very little bulk to the phone, but a whole lot of grip. I'm waiting for an Urban Armor Gear Outland to be delivered , and although the Tech21 case is not cheap, it gives me peace of mind until the UAG arrives.
I got a spigen clear flexible skin on ebay for around 12 dollars. Very nice slim and adds a lot of grip and still lets the phone shine thru
I got dbrand leather carbon finer skin for the back. It's less slippery to hold and no bulk added.
there is really not a solution for you.
Just get a SUPER thin case
I always found adding a cheap clear skin protector on the back add just the amount of grip you need. Worked for the Sony Z3 as well as htc one M7/M8 from my personal experience.
You could wrap your phone once around with Saran Wrap. Might look a little funky, but it will give you some more grip.
if you don't want a case but want grip and never drop your phone then checkout the flygrip it uses double sided adhesive to attach to your phone and also works as a kickstand in potrait and landscape mode , been using it for years on all my devices , but if you wireless charge then it will get in the way and wont work
I bought a pure gear case. Very slim with rubber siding and clear!! I've used them on several phones. Great feel and low bulk. I also added a screen protector

I know these are expensive but they seem to be a great quality and are truly the thinnest case I have ever seen. You should be able to try them out at your local Best Buy to see if you like it.

hello dont agree, i think its a very well made case, if the case drop, it will hurt one of the corner and will preserve the metal part, try to put the phone on a table in all position you want, the lens and metal part will never in contact with anything (sorry for my english
So I just received the Poetic Affinity clear case and I'm liking it!
album of pictures: http://imgur.com/a/E0vrg
It's clear, with a black bumper around it so that it sits on this small bumper rather than the clear portion. It's a very nice, tight fitting case. Phone feels nice and snug inside, which is a complaint I had about the Diztronic TPU in that the sides were loose and would bulge out, which was quite annoying.
this case fits nice and tight, and has a good grip. The sides have these bumps which are the same hard plastic that the case is made of, but they provide some great grip. def don't see myself dropping this from holding it on the sides, which I like.
the case itself seems to be of sturdy construction. it's a harder type fully clear mold, with a softer TPU type little exo skeleton type bumper that makes putting it down on a surface nice and soft. the lining around the screen is black and also a soft tpu like material, so if you put your phone face down on the table, again, it'll go down softly rather than hard like a fully hard case.
has all the standard ports, and they are all precisely cut: headphone jack, charge port, and the oval shape around the camera and motorola dimple are perfectly cut and look nice and even.
best thing is the case is super clear, so if you've got a nice leather or wood back, it'll shine right through. my moto x was the standard black back, but it still looks cool through this case.
overall, totally worth the money for a case that offers some decent protection, looks and feels good, and overall seems like it'll last with the phone!
link to the amazon site for it: http://www.amazon.com/Affinity-Prot...900484&sr=8-2&keywords=poetic+affinity+moto+x
The very same case but with clear bumpers if you want an overall clear look:
Looks great - thanks for the pictures! At $15 it certainly seems like a great deal! My Cruzerlite case seems shabby in front of it. I think I am going to have to ask someone to get it for me from the States.
What's the lip like? Sufficient in case of a face down drop? Is the corner protection better than the average case, like it seems in the pictures? Also, do you think that the clear part would get scuffed/ scratched over time and not look so great?
the lip isn't huge, but it's big enough to keep the protruding speakers off the surface it seems. corner protection looks good, and there's cushioning on the inside on the corners as well. the clear surface looks good, and isn't holding fingerprints too bad right now, maybe because it's brand new idk, but it may get scuffed up over time. I did notice a small scratch on mine.

none. I have a normal cheapo screen protector. not a huge fan of tempered glass.

Case review
Absolutely without a doubt best low profile case for the moto you will find. I also have the i-Blason Halo Series and in comparison the Poetic smokes it by a long shot. Just wish I could have gotten the black and clear.
Hey folks;
Just got a Spigen Rugged Armor delivered from Amazon (http://a.co/8BgQCag ) for the Mi A2 and I have to say, I really like it. I go through a lot of cases for my phones and it's not often I pop one on and really like it right away (I have this same case for my Pixel 2 XL and I like the version they made for the Mi A2 better).
Paid for this out of my own pocket in case anyone was wondering lol.
What I like:
- feels premium and nice in the hand. Has a nice matte feeling.
- does not make the phone feel thick or heavy.
- a good lip around the front screen. My screen is bare, but should accommodate a glass screen protector IMO. See my picture below for the lip.
- good lip around the camera
- easy to access the fingerprint sensor
- lots of room around the ports
- buttons are very clicky and feel great to use! I hate cases that make the buttons feel mushy or hard to press, and this case has a very satisfying firm feeling when pushing the buttons.
Potential Con:
- not the grippiest case. It is not slippery but the case is smooth all around and some people will want something grippier. I have had cases that I refuse to use because of the lack of grip and I don't have a concern here, but I'm just being picky. Case feels great to me.
- matte-textured cases might not be for everyone, as they can show some scratches and scuffs over time.
See pics below. Light was not great but I tried to use the reflections to highlight parts of the case people will want to see. The Mi A2 won't be my daily driver so I won't be able to speak to the case's ability to stand up to scuffs anytime soon.
I'm thinking about buying it too. Since there's not so much good cases for A2.
How's the case protect the camera? Does the case make the phone not bumpy anymore when you put it down? Thanks!

Lots of protection around the camera. I think one of the pics shows the lip. The lip around the camera does protrude further than the rest of the back of the case if you look at it horizontally, so it still rocks a little when laid down (but not as much as when its naked).
Hope that helps!
Could you suggest a tempered glass screen protector that fits perfectly with this case?

No idea. I don't use one.
Just got 2 cases from Amazon for my A2. I like them, they are both matte type. As mentioned though, they look nice initially, but I'm afraid the scuffs will detract from that in a bit.
And you can't really clean them I don't think. If you rub too hard or long it seems to remove the matte coating and makes it shiny. We'll see how it goes.
These are the 2 at Amazon:

I have bought Spigen Rugged, it does its work and really protective
I have this case as well and it is fantastic. Good build quality and protects the most important parts of the phone. Also the price is spot on, not too expensive consider how good it is.
I have also this case and I think its the best one for this phone (for now)
I have this case too and it's really good.
The only little flaw is its slight curve in the volume keys zone.
I don't know if it's a general "issue" or not.
Nilkin frosted case or this? Also which screen protector would work in combination with Spigen case?

This Spigen Rugged Armor case is actually bad. The case is very slippery and makes you prone to dropping your phone, I would not recommend this case to anyone!
The PZOZ Shockproof case is a far superior option.

Just bought the mentioned case 3 days ago for my Mi A2. My phone now felt grippy to be held by either hand. Yes, the soft touch at the back surface is really prone to scratch. It is not encouraged to put in the pants pocket with keys.

Hey folks;

I have been using this cover for over a month now and I actually like it . Although it makes the phone a little bit bulky but its very protective . It saves the camera bump on the phone and protects the screen too.
