Info about Huawei P10 Lite 64 Gb WAS-TL10 and Gapps - General Questions and Answers

Hello there, I'm gonna buy a new mobile phone, the new dual sim Huawei P10 Lite with 64 Gb of storage and 4 GB of RAM; I've chosen this one instead of the 32 Gb storage of theP10 Lite European version.
My doubt is that is a Chinese version, that can be locked for downloading any of the most common Google Apps (U tube, Play store etc.)
I'll buy it from an European importer, does everyone know if WAS-TL10 can install Gapps without rooting the phone?
Thanks a lot, greetings from Italy!
Jessy

Up, please help me
Thanks

Hi,
We have a Huawei Nova Youth (model number WAS-TL10) bought in China, and Play Store refuses to install. Haven't tried youtube. Most apps on the Play Store will work fine if you download the apk and install that way but it's not very convenient. We're going to try rooting the device, if we have any success I'll try to remember to let you know.

Rooting Lenovo S860

Lenovo S 860 is the latest offering from Lenovo and released recently in India. It has a massive battery of 4000 mah and is the best phone for people who want something which has a lot of stamina and this phone certainly lives up to the expectations.
SInce I was unable to find a specific forum for this phone I am posting it in the general section.
This is specifically for people who want more out of their Android phones.
So here you go, to root this phone, it is very simple, use VROOT. It is a one click process and works perfectly, but the super user installed will be in Chinese.
http://www.mgyun.com/en/GetVRoot
Thanks for posting/confirming that Vroot works for the S860 (and for starting this thread)- I'm about to purchase this phone later today. Is there any way to replace the Chinese superuser with an English one?
Edit: Just found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965781
Has anyone bought and is using this phone? Haven't seen much activity online so far even though it's a fairly decent offering. Perhaps if the Mods could move this thread to Android General it might be more helpful?
On a side note, if anyone is using the phone have you received 4.4 update yet?

Yeah...have been using the phone for the last 3 weeks. Performance is very good for day to day taks - calls/browsing/streaming etc . The best part I like about this phone is the mammoth battery and Lenovo still managed this in a rather slim body. It is also lighter than note 2.
Recieved kitkat update yesterday. A few changes to the UI - now it is lag free.
Kitkat update link
Can anybody post the link or how to upgrade Lenovo S860 to Kitkat. Lenovo released the update but since it around 1 GB unable to do so through phone. It gets interrupted due to unstable net connection and sloe speed. Is there anyway I can do this through PC.
VRoot did not work for me after upgrading phone to 4.4.2. It rebooted the phone constantly, asked for permission to restore data from PC to phone, but the root process kept failing. Anyone else face the same issue?
I have used S860 for a month now. Android 4.2.2 works good except for some lag. I would like to upgrade to 4.4 but don't want to loose google play. Any suggestions? Can I install the Lenovo update of 4.4 and then reinstall google play?

This will only work for the Chinese 1 GB model of Lenovo S860 - not the 2 GB ROW (Rest of the World) Model.
From whatever little is available online for this phone I'm guessing it's hard to root if the phone's running kitkat - and it doesn't look like any developer will come up with Root for it. It's just too bad, I miss using AdAway the most!

Flash S860
I have an S860 (1GB) bought from China obviously and when I received it it had no gapps and no caller id in Europe which was annoying.
What I did:
1. Installed 4.2.2 ROW Version (also when I flashed it I put a custom recovery image TWRP 2.7)
2. After I flashed it I installed root and modem for 3G calls from custom recovery.
That's it, feel free to ask me any question!

I bought my S860 on eBay (Honk Kong), it has KitKat 4.4.2 already installed and all Google services on and working. Language only english and chinese. Also it haso no caller id in Europe (little annoying) so set OFF.
Point 2. will be interesting for me, how to root the phone (with build ver. VIBEUI_V1.5_1423_7_ST_S860 and baseband version S860.V102, 2014/04/15) and set caller ID to Europe?
Thanks.

I have this Chinese version too, I got it few weeks ago.
When I got it, it had Android 4.2.* and everything was OK.
Then I got the notification that there is a system update (over 700MB), and I updated it.
After the update I have KitKat 4.4.2, Baseband S860.V102, Build VIBEUI_V1.5_1423_7_ST_S860., there was no Google Play store and stuff, so I had to loose time to make Google services to work.
Now it works, but I have some problems with notifications from the apps. Sometimes I get notifications from Facebook messenger and other apps, but most times I don't get any notifications, except from the mail.
It is really annoying, and I can't find any solution.
I'm no expert for rooting and stuff, I previously used Nexus 4 with stock system, and I bought this phone because of 2 SIM slots and good battery life.
Do you have any suggestions for my problem?
Do you know if it is possible to, maybe, install Cyanogenmod on it, and would that solve the problems?
2gb ram, 16gb rom, 5.3"ips,
I'm seriously considering this phone, the P780 has more development, but is lacking the extra features this model provides.
I'm in Canada and would need the development to reflect ROW needs.
BUT,,,
No development so far
So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and here's to (Prost!) to further development............

I also have 2gb ram 16gb S860 rom. I was looking for a related article about root, but no one ever discusses it. if there was even discussed in the jelly bean root instead kitkat.
My experience using framaroot and vroot not succeed in kitkat (2gb ram 16 rom).
I am also waiting for this type of developer for lenovo, considering this phone is a new entry in Indonesia. I come from Indonesia.

So the Lenovo site lists this phone "Ports - Micro SD up to 32GB", does your phone have a Micro SD Memory slot?
http://shopap.lenovo.com/hk/en/smartphones/s-series/s860/#tab-tech_specs
If not, is there ROW version of this model?
Mine is 2gb ram and 16 gb rom. I have rooted it with vroot. Then instaled twrm using mtk mobileoncle plus supersu. You can download correct version from lenovo.forum.ru

I think one of the specifications listed there, whether or not there is behind casing. because mine is not available microSD slot. there are only a miniUSB slot and audio jack 3.5, as well as slots for dual SIM
to my knowledge, ROW version is 2gb and 1gb CN. please correct if I'm wrong.

Did you root it while you were on jellybean or kitkat? After upgrading to kitkat neither vroot, nor framaroot are working. I tried with three different windows laptops.
Lenovo S860 2GB RAM = ROW
Lenovo S860 1GB RAM = CN/vibeui
I root it on kitkat with no problems using vroot.

Hi
this forum is dedicated to mediapad X2 (GEM-70xL).
you should try to find help with people on this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/help-iam-want-root-huawei-mediapad-t2-7-t3467251
Anyway, for you precise issue, the more simple is to install google apps and services that way on your current rom:
use Huawei store (Hiapp) that is already installed on your device:
for gapps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI2RYZiTl38
for sync services:

Simply download gmail app if it is not pre installed, then login with your credentials. Open play games app which would be pre installed or you can download it via play store and login with the same credentials.
Open any game and it is connected to the play games.
Hi people,
I bought a Chinese version of Huawei Honor 20i. I didn't find the Google Play Store in my smartphone and would like to install the Play Store, but I didn't find a tutorial or guide. Does anyone know a procedure for installing the Play Store? If someone also knows how to literally change the rom, I'm willing to change it.
Thank you in advance

I had the same issue and I got it fixed by having the chinese honor 20i converted to Honor 10i global version by https://ministryofsolutions.com/ After that, Play Store comes pre-installed and other Google apps work. To convert the phone you must downgrade EMUI 10 to EMUI 9.1 using a computer with HiSuite.
To fix the Google Play Store not working problem and all bloatware chinese apps removal from Huawei Honor 20i, you must have the phone converted to Honor 10i global version. Note: Honor 20i and Honor 10i are the same phone. To have the phone converted you must first downgrade EMUI 10 to EMUI 9.1 using HiSuite installed on a computer. Then https://ministryofsolutions.com/ can convert the chinese Honor 20i to Honor 10i global version that has Google Play Store pre-installed and no chinese bloatware apps.

Mate 30 pro

how to install Huawei mate 30 pro Google play store for 10.1 emui
Sell it, buy international one = easiest way.
Software method: unlock bootloader and convert it but seem you can not do it now
Anyway I love to use Chinese version more than international one: intergrated high quality call recorder and get updates earliest

I don't know why you want to change the Chinese version to an International one: The Chinese one has call recorder, video recording at 7680 fps and receives the software updates very fast and before than the International one.

Can I flash the International firmware to a P40 Pro bought in China

I got a brand new P40 Pro from a retailer in China, but it comes with something that I don't like, e.g., the real-name-registeration and a lot of useless apps.
I haven't used Android for years but back to my time(~2010), people can download various kinds of ROM and flash to their phone. I wonder if it's still possible today. If so, can I download the international ROM for my P40 Pro and flash it?
Much obliged
No chance as you cannot get the bootloader unlocked to install twrp or root these phones. You can use adb to remove some apps but be careful. I use a Chinese version fine in the UK. It does have some oditees but most can be overcome by reading other Chinese ROM owners methods in this and other Huawei threads.
Hi, i want to ask if your phoyhas app gallery and petal search. The reason i am asking is because i am about to buy this phone from China. I am currently at china, so i am not if Chinese app store has similar app gallery or petal search as international version

If you can change the OEMinfo partition to that of Europe or any other region you prefer, then you change the rom
