Hello guys,
is there a possibility to set up knock on / knock off feature which is compatible with the fingerprint sensor? I tried several apps from the playstore, all had problems with the fingerprint sensor. So ist there another possibility? Thx for your answers.
What do you mean with "knock feature"? Let me understand so that i could help ya if in my possibilities

Did you mean double tap to wake? If so, not supported yet on kirin phones.

That is not supported on any of the Kirin device by default but that may be possible with xposed (may be) not sure as haven't seen or tried this yet

Previously had H7; on H8 neither I can find it. It's not there at all. Don't understand why it's removed/left out.
Want it back, and native. No patch/crack w/root to be needed, as hereto for it wasn't needed as well.
I would like to have also , Double Tap to sleep ..
Pity we cant attribute this function to the fingerprint sensor .
Would like to have a shortcut for this setting , dont want push power button each time.

No, i want it with EMUI
I found ?* alternative solution. I downloaded Screen Off from playstore , and attributed it to long press fingerprint sensor.

If the fingerprint sensor is kept at front, then that can be the reason.
This should not be the reason for the mobile with Back FP sensor and Smart button.
Honor 5X also do have FP sensor. But it has double tap to wake feature.

Simply didn't want to include in honor 8's kernel
This mod doesn't work. What I'd like is ambient display.

Sure.
Then, after you double tap it, you need to unlock by fingerprint... because, as you said, you are forced to keep it up to use FP.
I'm not saying Honor did right choice.
But if you choosed a back FP phone, maybe you did it wrong...

Btw I use double tap only to see the time. and not to unlock it.

When im sleeping, i suppose to have mobile near me rather than a watch or a clock. So that i can see the time while waking up. Especially during holidays without alarm.
Just tried this app and it seems to work with our fingerprint scanner. I set the Tap option to 'go home' and the swipe option to 'expand notifications panel, both of which are working well.
And double tap to sleep is working also.

Hello.I installed aosp rom, and the mobile data, doesn't work.I return to multilanguage miui 8.0.9.0 and i mean:I want when my phone is in my pocket, when i grab it, and touch the fingerprint sensor, to wake up the device and to open the unlock screen, because for me is better this idea, not to push the power buton to wake up the device..I hope that you understand my idea.Thanks

This is the wrong section to post in for a start, but there isnt any Nougat for the Redmi note 4 as of yet (it hasnt been confirmed from Xiaomi whether there actually will be or not), either official or unofficial.

Mate, if you are using Jio I think I might be able to help you on that AOSP rom
First : go to setting and then to SIM cards
Second : Select the SIM slot in which Jio is inserted
Third : Go to access point names and start creating new APN
Fourth : Set the Name and APN as jionet(basically both need to be the same and you can set anything you want)
Fifth : Now without altering anything to scroll down and change APN protocol and only that to IPv4 and save the APN and make it the main one
I think that will solve the custom ROM incompatibility of Jio sim
Guys, could you check if this app does effect the battery life or etc?
Also does it require root?

jus toggle off the apply finger print to - lock screen from screen lock and finger print option in setting
but it wakes even when ur unsaved finger taps
Hey bro. I used this app, I love it but when this app is in action i can't take pictures using fingerprint sensor. When i touch the sensor to take pictures the screen flashes as if a picture is taken but nope. Then I uninstalled this and that worked fine

It's available in play store so it's universal i think. It would work on any phone with a fp sensor i think.
Did you guys knew that our device has double tap to wake by default ? And it works even with the device in horizontal (like on a table).
Any other feature that is discovered by accident? LOL...

You didn't know? Lol. It existed since the M8. It's just that....it's been out for so long, and fingerprints are also a thing, so it is not really mainstream anymore.

Hi there. I´m new to the Mi Mix 3, overall it´s a great phone but I really miss the fingerprint gestures like i had on my Pixel 2 (swipe down to open the notifications). I tried several apps, but non of these semms to be working. I´m on the EU 8.12.27 beta ROM with root. Is there any app that is working with this phone or is there any setting that can solve this problem?

Finger print quickaction is the closest I can get but need to double tap sensor. Swipe or single touch won't work.

I already tried that. But it doesn´t feel very handy to me. When you accidently touch the sensor than the action is executed. And the swipe doesn´t work very well. A bit of hit and miss imo.
