As you can see these are my numbers start "Y". There is no German Number but when I search "Y" I saw German numbers.
I really don't understand what these numbers. How can I fix this please help me.

Is your contacts list linked with your Google contacts?
Sent from my HTC 2PZC100 using Tapatalk

All my contacts in my Google acc. but I checked my Google acc. there is no one like that.
And these numbers only visible while my internet connection open and I have this problem only stock app.

Try going to the settings of the contact app and selecting 'Telephone contacts' as the only contacts visible (at the option choose contact appearance)

I will use another app but I just wonder what are these

I've been having the same behavior on my phone but I've not been able to find anything about how or why this is happening. I'm running Lineage OS 14, latest nightly, on a Motorola X Pure.
I noticed it months ago. Any time I search my contacts (American here with no international contacts or any sort of friends or acquaintances anywhere but the US), I get results from what appears to be German White Pages under the results from my phone.
Anyway, if I find out why this happens, I'll post back here. You are not alone!

The phone numbers I'm seeing while searching my contacts are mostly from Austria, although I have no contacts there. Apparently LineageOS performs lookups via some web service which prefers to search numbers from Austria.

My vpn firewall reported that my android dialer wanted to access the following two domains
lamp01.compass.apa.net
lamp02.compass.apa.net
ips are 91.195.199.126 and 91.195.199.127.
These IPs are also used by auskunft.at.
I guess you see phone numbers from the phone number lookup service, which is enabled by default.
Disable the lookup service in dialer settings and I believe the unknown contacts will disappear.
I only found one semi related bug report:
BUGBASH-612
( I'm not allowed to post the URL)

Also in my case (Lineage OS 14.1) the phone number lookup was enabled by default. It can be switched off by opening the phone app → Settings (click on the three vertical dots to the right of the search bar) → Phone number lookup
See attached screenshot

just noticed this with my OnePlus 3T running TugaPower 19 Android 8.1.0 LineageOS 15.1
google reports that auskunft{dot}at "this site may be hacked"
what a region specific POS to include with all builds of Lineage!

From the programmer
Windows Mobile 6.1
"I wanted to share a program I've been working on - it's basically an enhanced Caller ID. On incoming SMS or phone calls a window pops up that
displays,
- The full name of caller
- Address of caller with a map link
- The number of FTC and caller complaints (to tell if it’s a spam call)
- Telco name and location (can tell what carrier the call is from)
- Relatives of caller (with age!)
- Criminal History
I've also added the ability to add the caller to the contacts book, return the call, and look at past calls.
I've only tested and ran this on my HTC Touch Pro and it works well, even for unknown cellular calls. It's kind of crazy the information you can get.
Looking for suggestions, changes, additions - definitely let me know and I will happily (and quickly) add them. You can reach me at [email protected]
Release Notes --
- NetCallerID waits until the call is answered or finished before doing the network calls. For the most part, the network connection is
unavailable until the phone call is ended.
- If roaming is enabled NetCallerID waits until your out of roaming.
- All history of calls are in the program files\netcallerid\calllogs directory in html format. You can view these with Opera or Pocket IE.
- The setup automatically starts the program. I also put it in \Windows\Startup to start when you re-start the phone. "

Very interesting
I saw this app a couple days ago on freewarepocketpc.net.
I'm VERY interested in this, but I'm waiting for some feed back on it before I give it a shot.
But if it does what it claims to do, it's pretty incredible.
works fine for me
this program does what it says and seems to be pretty accurate most of the time..
hi..wil this work for india??
There's a thread in the Raphael software section .

[APPS] PowerTutor - Contacts and Messaging Destroying Battery?

I've been using a power usage app designed for the N1 called "PowerTutor" for the past week or so (app link, homepage link).
Ever since I've started using it, I've noticed that two apps are constantly using tons and tons of battery, despite me never using them: Contacts and Messaging. Notice in the screenshots below they have been running 100% of the time since my last reboot and using the most battery, more than any of the apps that I actually use:
Left: Current Power Usage (As of this second).
Right: Total Power Usage (Since reboot).

These apps never go away. Now, I understand how Android task management works, so the fact that they are running isn't the problem; but the fact that they are using battery constantly seems to be a huge issue, since A) I never use them and yet B) together they have by far the highest power consumption apps on my phone. What the heck??
What is going on here? Does anyone else use PowerTutor?
Interesting find...
Seems like no one dares to comment on this...now I´m curious.
The app must be messaging your contacts in the background...
Or maybe this app drafts a message to one of your contact, then discards it and then drafts the same message to another contact and again discards it and so on....
The tutor in the name suggests that it wants to teach you a lesson... Don't install random apps on your phone and them give it permission to use whatever resources that it wants...
If you using CM ROM so maybe you lock messaging in the memory (CM setting > performance )
I messaged the developer and he responded with this:
It may be related to a bug (it's more of a limitation of the Android API) in PowerTutor. In reality Android gives no way to know what application is currently in the foreground so we have to estimate it using some information they do give us on the priority of each application. Unfortunately the phones I have work with don't have this problem so it's difficult for me to debug. The problem is related to the Messaging and Contacts applications having foreground priority despite not actually being in the foreground.
Try simply filtering out OLED (click on the OLED panel in the application view) to get more meaningful numbers for now.

Interesting...
My question then is, if we were to filter out OLED, wouldn't that mean we'd be missing out on some data (data that is actually valid)?
Though I'm not sure I understand what it means to have an app listed in multiple categories? And what that will do when one category is filtered out.

Hah, thanks for the bump. I am subscribed to this thread but actually uninstalled PowerTutor long ago. It seemed too inaccurate.

[Q] Can't edit calendar entries from exchange server

Sorry for the several pictures attached, but they will help illustrate the problem.
This is the software version I am using on the phone. I am rooted but otherwise stock.

and
This is the version of Google Calendar I am using
I have 2 exchange accounts on my Android device. Each syncs calendar entries properly. This pic is of one of the accounts.
However, depending on the manner in which the calendar entry was entered, whether on the phone or using outlook, the notifications differs.
This entry was added using the phone. Notice the "pen" icon in the top right, which allows for editing the entry as well as the general layout of the notification.
Now notice the notification when the entry was made with outlook. It is very different, and does not have the pen icon to edit the entry.
I found the following post (https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=13779) which seems to indicate that it is a problem with the primary SMTP address, but I removed, and then re-added the account using the exact address, and the problem persists.
I am at a loss. Anyone have any ideas. I contact my hosted exchange service, and they asked if I had updated my android software to the latest, and then said that, since they have not had many, if any, complaints about it, there was nothing they could do. Now, I am willing to live with it if need be, but I would love to correct this issue.
Update
So, I added the exchange calendar to a different android phone (TBolt) and the entries are now editable.
I then uninstalled, and reinstalled, the calendar app on the problem phone (A Rezound) and the problem is still present.
I also notice that I had two calendar applications. Notice the icons at the bottom of the picture
Perhaps there is some sort of interaction causing the problem. Anyone have any suggestions. Would love to uninstall the older calendar app, but don't see that option anywhere.
I am trying to avoid a factory wipe, and am also wondering if the latest Rezound SW update will cure the problem.
Any ideas?

Question Samsung contacts: insert address

When inserting address in GOOGLE contacts app, you just type in a single line (part of) the address and the apps queries Google Maps to let you choose the address. Any way to enable something similar for SAMSUNG contacts app?
Any idea here, pls?
Samsung contact app is not that sofesticated. but if you add a post code or any part of the address manually then a map button allows you to use activate the default map app.
Maybe use Google contact to fill contact address and then swap to Samsung as default
Or just use Google Contacts which is the better app. I tried using all Samsung apps and found it to be too much of a compromise.
I use Samsung Notes and My Files, the rest are google apps. It sucks but it's the price you pay for owning a Samsung device.

Unfortunately using Google Phone or Contacts on Samsung is annoying if you have dual sim: Samsung allows three choices-
- sim 1
- sim 2
- always ask
I chose always ask because I need control yet when calling a contact for the first time, you are asked which sim to use but there's no way to set a default sim upon this first call: on my former pixel I had an option to check "always use this sim", which is missing on Samsung.
In Samsung contacts there's a handy feature to assign in batch a default sim for chosen numbers, in Google contacts you have to do this contact by contact.
Update: never mind, all of a sudden the option to set default calling sim is now present when I call this contact for the first time...
And also Google Messages behaves strange: when selecting a contact for the first time as destination , I am prompted with two numbers from this contacts, same numbers but one with space and one without

Can't help you with this one. I use Signal exclusively for messaging.

Question Duplicated numbers on car dashboard

When I connect the Pixel 7 PRO via BT with my cars' dashboard, I see for each contact the same mobile number duplicated twice.
When using car's voice command "call XYZ" I am always prompted with a list of two equal numbers and I am asked to select which number to call.
This happens with all my cars (different brands) and only with mobile numbers (if a contact has a mobile and a landline, I see three numbers: twice the mobile and once the landline).
This does not happen with contacts whose phone number is not associated to WhatsApp (yes, I have a couple of contacts that do not have WhatsApp...), so I believe it must have something to do with WhatsApp.
I think there is an option to merge contacts in the contacts app, never used it though.
That's not the problem
I think whatsapp calling is causing this, phone knows what these 2 numbers mean but for car it is 2 different numbers, differect accounts etc. For my case Audi mmi shows 2 numbers for each contact but Android Auto shows one for normal cell calling number and one for whatsapp calling number.
Fun fact; when you select whatsapp number in Android auto it really does calling from whatsapp, using no cell, well cell data ofc.

Exactly same situation and yes as I wrote it must be WhatsApp...
Was hoping for a solution ...
Well, i do recommend against deleting those numbers which I tried and failed miserable as Whatsapp quickly re sync those numbers.
Also don't try to delete contact list from car, because it is the car that does not understand which means what.
Imo Google should have a setting to what to send for bt devices. So you can select only Google contacts for car but not other things.
Btw it was worse when "meet", "hangouts" and other apps were installed. There was tones of numbers and it was so annoying.
Well I have WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, and as you can see Android combines the three contacts Inyo one, yet I see only two equal numbers and not three.
