I have a Samsung T399 (T-Mobile version). For a while, I've used an android 4.4.2 rom (stock Metro-PCS, but I kept the T-Mobile modem). It had a very nice alarm widget built in which was 4x1 sections on the home screen, had a toggle button for the alarm on it, and could be set to show *any* alarm, not just the next one. My setup was to have several of these widgets, showing the alarms I use for various things, on a secondary home screen page.
Now, I've flashed a CM12 (android 5.0.2) rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-light/development/rom-cm12-light-beta-t3154688 which works *very* well; I have none of the problems described in the thread. However, the one thing I still miss from the Metro-PCS rom is the alarm widget. I can't find any that will show anything except the next upcoming alarm.
- What app can I use to fill my need?
- Alternately, can I get the app from the other rom? (I pulled the .apk and .odex from /system/app in a TWRP backup, but it won't install on the current rom and if I manually put it in /system/app/AlarmWidget (I notice all others have their own directory on this rom), I'm told "Unfortunately, Alarm has stopped." when I try to add it to the home screen.

Anyone else having problems with this? My problem is this: flashed Liberty 1.5 on my X, installed the Blur Alarm Clock from Liberty Tools. It appears to work fine, except that the alarms I set won't go off. It'll wake the phone up from sleep, but before the alarm starts sounding, it'll (at least appear to) FC.
I'd post this in the relevant dev thread, but as a new user, I can't.
Thanks
I, personally, loved the MIUI & CyanogenMod but they, in my opinion, have their downfalls.
MIUI: No app drawer, I like having just 1 page on the homescreen & all the excess apps/games in the drawer, but its layout (customization options (lockscreen/homescreen wallpaper, themed messaging app), bootlogo, etc.) is great but, the worst part was the simple fact that it would be fine over night, then the next day it started booting out the wifi, phone or even put my phone into airplane mode which I could not get out of no matter how many reboots or battery pulls I did.
CyanogenMod: No texting or phone calls at all, it has been awhile since I used it but it either could send & not receive texts/calls or vice-versa, either way just like w/ MIUI, its awesome in every other aspect.
I was just wondering if there are any other custom ROMs for the Samsung Mesmerize SCH-i500, in particular, that are similar to those two, themed and/or fully customizable options, I can't think of the words I'm looking for, I guess a standalone custom ROM that is FULLY STABLE (calls, texts, wifi, bluetooth, no AUTOMATIC airplane mode, etc. I mean EVERYTHING FULLY WORKING) for my, above mentioned, phone, does not have to be debloated/dexed/deodexed, either way.
i am running miui 1.12.9 with glitch kernel v13.1 EH09 radio
for what i use it all works. sms, bt, mms (wifi off), phone, alarm clock, etc..
miui control panel for the app drawer feature. maybe if you had an older version you might want to check out this newer one.
but as for other roms i have not tried any, if i get bored i might try something else but not until i read up on it so i know what im getting into.

I was using MIUI.us_mesmerizemtd_1.12.9_Eng_Deo_ZipA_Signed_dfgas-911fix and it was about 2:30 in the morning when I finally fully restored to stock rooted 2.3.4 Gingerbread, wiped data, cache partition dalvik cache and finally rebooted after installing MIUI, I finally went to sleep at 5 in the morning after setting it all up.
I awoke at about noon & it was still running fine but I ran busybox installer so I could update the su binary & had to reboot, this was roughly between 3 - 3:30 in the afternoon &, after reboot, it just started f***ing up.
Absolutely no phone signal at all, I tried the phone activation code but it was never activated, wifi, even right next to the router, was not detected, tried a few reboots but nothing, it kept saying it was in airplane mode, when I opened the notification bar, deactivated airplane mode, it never turned back on again but only in the notification bar, in the settings menu, after turning it off & exiting the menu or going to another menu, regardless if it was from within the settings menu or not it automatically switched back on when I returned back to it, I don't know, if I can get it to work, I can live without the app drawer, its just that good to me.
I even tried the MIUI360P_ENHv3.1_universal_s enhancer thing but that just mad it so that, I forgot exactly what it was called, something about com.android.phone. (something) process kept having to be force closed but every time I pressed force close within 2 or 3 seconds it did it again & it kept repeating this over & over again, I had to pull the battery just to get out of it, but by what I saw in the forums after I tried it, its actually meant for Samsung Galaxy S II I9000, whereas I have the Samsung Galaxy S I i500, I kind of rushed into it in the hopes that it would fix the issues.
I cannot get Alarm Clock Plus (no ads) to set up properly. Every time I try to set the alarm tone I want (no matter the source) it locks up. Either it hangs and drops back to the home screen or I have to reboot my phone.
I have tried emailing the maker of the app and have not received a reply.
I spent too much time trying to get it to work and missed the 15 minute return window. So right now it is worthless to me- and definitely a waste of money.
I haven't found a solution to this problem with Alarm Clock Plus (no ads) and alarm lockups. Has anyone else ran into this problem? If so, how did you fix it?
I am running [ROM][2.3.6]SGH-I997 UCLB3[Rooted, Deodexed, Busybox, Zipaligned.. on a Samsung Infuse.
Did the free version work properly for you?
Have you tried a diffferent ROM? It is possible since this is an aftermarket app designed for a stock ROM, that something within the ROM itself is causing it to crash.
Unfortunately, I didn't try the free because it was so highly rated. I will definitely check the apps out more thoroughly.

I have not tried it with a different ROM. I will continue to work on it when I have time.
I reinstalled the ROM, the stock kernel, and the extra power controls and viola! Alarm Clock Plus (no ads) is now working. I will keep my eyes crossed. I will either wake up and go to work or the alarm will fail and I will be late. We'll see....
I am rooted, running stock with ADW launcher pro. The past two days, my widgets have stopped updating their content.
Some widgets, like google music, will still control the app, however, they will not show the correct song.
-my time does not change.
-I have gentle alarm and the widget is totally unresponsive.
-I have a flashlight widgets which will turn on the phone's flash light, but the widget will not update to show that it is on
-I have a wifi tether widget that will switch the hotspot to on, but the widget once again will not change appearance to show that it is activated.
-I have calengoo which will update after a reset but then will not change again (to the best of my knowledge i havent verified this one yet)
If i reset the phone the time will update to the time of the reset, but will not change after that. I have tried battery pulls, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling widgets. I have tried freezing touchwiz in titanium. i am out of ideas.
Any idea what is causing this partial widget impairment?
For anyone that had a simmilar problem, I solved this by manually restarting ADW from within the ADW settings. I hadn't thought to do this since I didn't see how it would be different from resetting my phone, but something must be altered when it is manually restarting, perhaps a cache?
Problem Solved
Hello everyone,
I have my Nexus 5 since january. It`s been a really great experience.
I love to customize my N5. I am always changing icons, wallpapers and lockscreen looks.
For that, I keep looking for new apps in foruns like this, or Mycolorscreen, or Deviantart and etc.
One of this days, I found these lockscreen apps:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lockscreen.galaxy
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lockscreen.optimus
and
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lockscreen.sony
All of them are from the same developer. They are really beautiful, well designed and I was very happy with the look and experience that those apps gave me.
But soon I notice something strange when I first boot my phone in the morning: the N5 kept the home screen lit... It did not matter how many times I pushed the main button, trying to turn the scrren off and get the lockscreen working. I also noticed that the apps that usually open in the first boot were not getting started. Their notifications were not showing up. The screen kept ligthen up in my homescreen...
I was suspecting that these apps that were working properly before the installation of the three lockscreen apps above, were "fighting" with the new apps (the lockscreen apps). As the lcokscreen apps are from the same developer, I figured that they were the problem. So I unsitalled them. The apps that have always been working fine before the lockscreen apps have been installed are:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflow
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.rgruet.android.g3watchdog
and
http://www.amazon.com.br/MacroPinch-Bateria-Pro/dp/B0085YOD1A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1399848399&sr=8-3&keywords=bateria
I have been using the stock lockscreen since then...
Today (May 11th), I found the following lockscreen app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.qiigame.flocker.global
and decided to give it a try. And I loved it. It is a very beautiful lockscreen.
But after trying it for some time, learning how to use it... I reeboted my N5...
Unfortunally, the issue I (tried to) describe above happened again. After reeboting, the screen got lightened all the time. I push the main button and the scrren did not turn off. 3G watchdog, Battery and Lighfolw don`t show the notifications of starting up.
So, I am back in Nexus 5 sotck lockscreen!
I would love to use these lockscreen apps. But I don`t know what is going on. Can someone pelas help me???
I am sorry if this thread is confused. It is not easy to try to explain it in english. lol
I think this is just a case of buggy apps. I read through reviews for these apps from nexus 5 users, others are experiencing the same problems. The author of the last lock screen app you are using said to try going into the apps setting and choose "home button settings" and follow the three steps there, whatever those are, to solve your problem.
