Hi, just to ask if it is possible or in the app store if there is a simple counter tracker, by turning the bezel it will add or subtract the number? Was searching for a simple counter tracker app for me tracking numbers of people/things when I count
MH Click counter perhaps ?
Hmm is it an app for gear s3? Couldn't find it
Counter+ is an excellent app for this. It supports bezel addition/subtraction aswell.

Hi,
I have been looking around and still can't find a fitness app that does not require to be syncing with your phone. The only thing it need is a calorie counter and a continuous HR monitor.
Can anyone help me out?
Heart Rate Monitor does what you ask. It can sync with the phone but it works also standalone.
Is it a continuous HR monitor or you have to click every time to let it check? The intention is to use is it indoor and outdoor fitness and sporting activities

It can run with a fixed interval or continuously, you don't have to click to let it check.
Ok, in my country I am not able to find that app. Will be looking further to be able to download it for my gear 2

The new Gear Watch Designer is great but it seems to be lacking one particularly important indicator.
It would be great to have a condition for watchface design that shows the battery charge level of a connected phone, not just the battery level of the watch itself.
Is there any way in which this could be added using the Gear Watch Designer or some other method?
Thanks
I believe it can only be added by a companion android app. Unless the designer devs come up with a way to generate a generic android app for that or Samsung updates their accessory service to let watch faces access that info, it's not going to happen.
If you know how to code an Android app, it is actually very easy to get that information.

Thank you in advance for the info.

All in One! watch face ($1.99 I think) has an option to show phone battery level. You have to have to install a phone app called "Gear Data Provider". It works great with my Galaxy S4.

Hey, thank you for the reply.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find "all in one!" watch face anywhere, also there is no app called " Gear data provider" in the google play store, atleast for my location.
Any advice?

On my Galaxy S4 phone in the USA, I start the Samsung Gear app, then select Samsung Galaxy Apps and Samsung Gear Apps pops up. Then, I touch "Top" which is to the right of Category and Staff Picks. Once there, I touch "Top free" and change it to "Top paid". It's the very first item in the list - All in One! In the "description" area of the watch face details, the dev (Alex Rokhlov) explains how to download Gear Data Provider from Google Play Store. There it's called GDP. Here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=shu.gear.data
Good luck!
I have found a way to get the battery of the connected phone via tasker and the Taskers2 app on the gear s2. Just make a task in tasker that displays the battery level on the notification bar of the phone for three seconds, and then removes it. It will then display your phones battery % on your gear s2. Its not integrated into the watch face, but it works for me.
You will need to have Tasker, Tasks2 on your watch, and the paid companion app TaskS2

Now that WatchMaker is compatible with the Gear, you can use that to show Phone Battery Level as well as Watch Battery Level. However, the Step Counter and Weather Information are both not working properly, unless Im missing something in the settings of the app.
Weather works.
Steps.... not really but sometime.
Import file into Tasker?

cjkbarnett, I would like to import that task into tasker. I tried using the link provided, but Tasker said it needs to me a prj.xml file. When I added the ".prj", the file showed up in the import field in Tasker, but then error code "no #1$s found" Any suggestions?

I've got a Samsung S3 Frontier and want to use it to for hiking. I use All-Trails on my Android phone but they don't don't provide a S3 app. Does anyone know of an app that will let me load a trail, I can use a GPX file to load the trail into a different app on my phone but I don't see an app that also has the S3 support I need.
I'm looking for the ability to at least track distance, waypoint so it can be showin on a map, speed, elevation, elevation gain per hour, etc. The watch has all the sensors I need, I just need an app will work for hikes.
Looked at MapMyHike but it doesn't have a S3 companion app.
Any help would be appreciated,
Cliff
Komoot
Hi,
I like to use komoot.
(can't give you the link, cause i didn't used xda much yet)
I think you got all the features you named. If you want to have an offline map, buy it or try to use some discounts.
You'll be lucky to find any good app on here ? never mind a specific one, roll on an Android wear port

What does that mean "roll on an android wear port"

I just asked something similar and I see you didn't get much help either. Did you use the Samsung Health hiking feature? It worked really good on the way up and didnt measure crap on the way down. I wonder if there is a way to get the hiking feature on its on widget and out of the health widget

You can use Altimeter & Barometer app to control an elevation. The app was tested by mountain climbers with success.
GPX route tracker, you have in on Gear apps

Finally - after 2 years of waiting - there is now a real hiking app available, that has all the features I always wanted: Locus Map Pro/Free Watch.
This works in conjunction with
Locus Map Free/Pro - Hiking GPS navigation and maps phone app (for Android) - which is a feature and map rich app by itself.
The watch app support lots of different maps (not just Google...). It supports track recording, navigation, stats etc.
You can plan a hike on your phone and then follow it on the watch.
I fully recommend it.
I used it now on several hikes and am fully satisfied - finally after trying so many other "hiking" apps.
More info on the locusmap website (sorry linke posting not allowed.

This is unusable solution, because you must have phone with you. It's not standalone application.
Have you tried Gaia GPS? It just might work with your S3. I've recently gone camping at Lower Lake and almost got off route. I would've wandered in circles for a while had it not been for this app. I downloaded the offline map of the area before the hike, and it paid off - I was able to find my way back to the trail. My friend hikes more often than me, and he prefers PeakVisor. He says this app works kind of like augmented reality - you point your camera at the peak, and the app shows you the info on it and the trail to it using your camera and advanced 3D technology.
Hi,
I'm considering buying a gear S3 if there's an app that can do one thing: simple time tracking. Note i don't mean activity tracking as in sports etc, I want to use the bezel to switch between work, play, chores etc. Like TimeFlip but on your wrist.
I can't find anything like this for the S3 by googling though. Does it exist?
Cheers, Tim.
+1, also want this. As a backup solution (since it's only work and reading that I want to track) I'll use Health app and "start workout" for a sport that doesn't track any GPS like yoga. You got the idea
