hello guys am new here i just rooted my phone and i have a custom recovery since then i cant install any updates i have android 4.2.2 i want to install lollipop or marshmallow i got many update files but none of them worked btw i need the middle east version.
you have to go back to stock recovery before any upgrade. where did you get upgrade files. i am looking for marshmallow b067
how to go back to stock recovery, since I have the same issue, may you explain?

Hi,
I decided a while back to give Cyanogen mod a try on my Moto G 4G (XT1039). After finally reverting back to the stock firmware (4.4.4) from a backup I am left with a rooted phone and a custom recovery (TWRP).
Lollipop will be rolling out shortly and I would like to emjoy the update. As I understand I will not be able to update OTA due to TWRP.
What you be the best way to update to the stock Lollipop once it is released?
Is it best to return to the stock recovery? And especially how?
Or would it be best to wait for a flashable stock Lollipop zip to be posted and flah it through TWRP?

I've rooted my XT1039 once and then I moved back to the STOCK and the OTA 4.4.4 for repair 10 class microSD came. I don't have TWRP so that isn't exactly the same situation. I just have unlocked bootloader.
PS: I'm chacking System updates five times every day
When lollipop was released . To get it faster i use Google Service Framework Method . I got the update , but With lots of Bugs . And i do not have any idea how to root or flash the roms . And to clear all bugs i Went to service Before 6 days . and re install 4.4.4 . 6 days Went still i did not get lollipop update . I need 2 Ask will i get the update in few days Or it will get when 5.0.2 will be released .
Updates are incremental. 5.0.2 will only install on 5.0.1.
5.0.1 will only install on 5.0
5.0 will only install on 4.4.4
So no, you can't wait for 5.0.2 to be released. You must update in order
In order to update i should know how to flash or how to root . what should i do .. will get ota .. ?
You will get the ota in time. Or you can read the threads in general.if you want a guide to side load ota or flash stock factory image

If I haven't any custom recovery, do you know could I upgrade by OTA without fear??

rooted device can not be upgraded via OTA... no matter you installed custom recovery or not..
it goes the same for every android devices..

Curious... On the OTA upgrade to D83810d from previous version I was rooted too. And not only OTA went fine but I even didn't lose root. That's why I was wondering...

Hi all
I am from India and my H6+ was purchased thru flipkart. I got an OTA several months ago and I had B111 build.. now when I checked needrom.com there is an official Kitkat 4.4.4 update.
However I rooted phone changed to cwm recovery. Needless to say I downloaded the room and as per instructions I have tried updater app. But it failed.. rightly because my recovery is changed. So I went back to put stock recovery back and to my surprise B111 had no stock recovery available via Multi tool.. all have B125..
Here is what I need suggestions
1. How to get back to stock recovery of B111
2. With EMUI 3.1 around the corner will the update even recognize B111 or there is any minimum requirement?
3. Is there a way to update to EMUI 3.1 or latest official Kitkat Rom which is B250?

So recently, i decided to try and update my rooted custom rom galaxy s5. But i don't want to update to 6.0.1 because rooting won't work for my device model and so i would only like to update to 5.1.1. I cant update it through the phone settings because my firmware/rom was modified. I don't want to flash any stock firmware/rom on my device either because then, i wouldn't be able to update my device through the settings in the future. So what would you guys recommended i do?
Correct me if i am wrong. But if i update my firmware through kies right now, it will use the latest 6.0.1 firmware instead of 5.1.1.
