I've tried everything except rooting my Droid Charge to get it to accept the latest system update yet it will not get past a quarter of the way without stopping and displaying that triangle and exclamation point! Is there any way without rooting it that this problem can be corrected?! Maybe if i throw it against a wall...., please im at my wits end with it. Can someone help me?

Well don't root it because it'll never update then. Have you wiped data? If that won't work go to How to fix your phone get the download package for EP4 and follow the instructions exactly. Then take the 2 updates.

Hi guys,
Just like other people I have also rooted my Note 3 and flagged/tripped the KNOX counter...
The issue first appeared when I was trying to upgrade from Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) to v4.4.2 (KitKat). The update notification popped, it took roughly 40 minutes to download the firmware and I was then prompted to install. The device then restarted automatically as usual and I received the "Failure to update" window. I have tried couple of times more in case something went wrong with the download but it didn't help. So I had to install the update manually from SamMobile, using Odin and wiping my phone data. Everything went well and I am now enjoying the KitKat version.
Today it seems a new update appeared around 26 MB and I am facing the same issue. After I download the update and hit install, the device will restart and then show the "Failure to update" window.
Is there any way to fix this? Does it mean I can never install the updates automatically?
Please advise and thanks in advance.

I asked because some users tried to downgrade to 4.3 and now some can`t upgrade at all anymore except manualy You are not rooted atm right? How is your system status?

Oke, well you can`t install official updates when you are rooted (modified the system)! I suggest you download Mobile Odin Pro from Play and flash the whole new rom from www.sammobile.com and keep root.

Right, so I can just receive the updates but not install them! that's convenient
Do I have to wipe everything again or just install the latest update? Because if I have to wipe everything each time there's an update, I may just cancel the whole update thing until there's something like a major update

You don`t have to wipe as the updates atm are mostly bugfixes. Only wipe cache and dalvik cache after the flash.

Awesome then! From the description of Mobile ODIN Pro though it says "throw those firmware files on your SD...", where can I get those minor updates in order to download them?

Download the whole rom from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ and follow the instructions of mobile odin. You can`t install OTA`s.

Okay I think I got it, so each time there's an update I must download the whole ROM and flash it on top of the current? Since it's the same, it only updates the files that are needed while keeping the rest of the system intact.

Great info , thanks for letting us know.
Do you know why the BL was causing the problem?
Hi!
My problem is that I can't download the latest firmware like the FRD-L09C432B394. The latest for my phone is the FRD-L09C432B389.
I tried rollback the phone to Android 6.0 / EMUI 4.1, installing C432B131 official firmware
The phone takes me to update to Android 7.0, and then to FRD-L09C432B389. After that, no other updates.
I wiped all the things I could before doing that, and uninstalled roots. I don't know what the problem might be.
Hope you guys could help me, maybe there's an obvious spot that I'm missing.
UPDATE: After 9 days I still didn't get the update. I'm sure now there's a problem, and I can't find it.
UPDATED 2: I GOT IT! I finally got the update after 15 days. I had to go manually in the update tab to receive it. Thank you guys for keeping me patient and helping me!

Have you tried firmware finder?
Updates roll out in batches, so wait and you'll get it
It happened to me also, Indian Variant, but after few days, I received via phone updater. Tried to push via firmware finder but couldn't install.
just wait for the updates, and reset once and try.

Not for me unluckly. I manage to download the update through the official update option, but when it reaches 100% it says something like the update isn't compatible, and deletes it.

We have B340 rolling out for Honor 6X and few got it in early August and few getting it now and others are still waiting but they are getting slowly. Its like they are slowly sending to users but eventually send to all.

You can use LMSA rescue option, it will flash the newest firmware available for your device.
The rescue option will wipe data.
It may offer to update, without data wipe, but I don't think that feature is working now.

Oh, in that case, reboot the phone and see if the update goes through, if it doesn't you can follow the steps that sd_shadow mentioned earlier.

It took me overnight (could have been more than 5 hours) to successfully update to this firmware. You are downloading through China server which is really really slow. Have patience. Download while you're sleeping.
