Always listening google assistant - Android General

Can anyone point me towards a mod or hack that will allow google assistant to listen for "Ok, google" even when the screen is off? With the stock version, you CAN unlock your phone with trusted voice, but you must first hit a button a light up the screen. Samsung's S Voice is able to pick up voice with the screen off, and Google Assistant works similarly on the Pixel/Nexus series, I don't see why the google assistant can't be modded for the same function on other phones.
I'm looking for something for the Galaxy S7 hereqlteue specifically.

Google Assistant not working

Hello forum.
After hearing that with Xposed I was able to get Google assistant I was ecstatic. I was going to mainly use it in my vehicle for voice commands without being tied to the Google app. However, when downloading the modded Xposed module of Android N-Ify and the Google Beta app It sort of worked. When double tapping the home button I was greeted with Google search, when I said "Ok Google" android assistant prompts me to train my voice. After training my voice it goes to home screen and nothing else happens. When I go back and say "Ok Google" in the google app it prompts me to retrain my voice again. Confused, I went into the Google settings and under voice -> "Ok Google" detection it is switched off. When uninstalling the Xposed module I am able to use "Ok Google" from only the Google app itself and the Ok Google is ticked and says only from the Google app. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or my ROM is not allowing me to use it.
Relevant information:
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 4
Provider: T-Mobile
ROM: AICP for the Galaxy Note 4, T-Mobile variant.
Thanks!

Google Assistant question

I think I know the answer to this anyway, but throwing it out there in case:
Is there a way on the S8+ to have Google Assistant always listening for the OK Google command at ALL times? Like with Hey Siri.
It works if charging or if the screen is on, but if sitting next to my bed with just AOD on, it doesn't fire up, even though I have all of the options set to always listen. Am I being dumb?
Also, while I'm at it - there isn't a way to change the default voice to text on the Samsung keyboard from Bixby back to Google is there? I like the Samsung keyboard but Bixby doesn't understand a damn word I say!
I keep AOD on and Bixby button mapped to voice action. It's quicker to press the button anyway. I had the Pixel before. Even the always on Ok Google doesn't work half of the time on Google own phone.

Edge Sense & Google Assistant - Security bug? [False alarm]

Edit: False alarm. It is trusted voice at play here. Time to disable that.
I discovered a security bug via Edge Sense today and I hope someone can re-confirm it.
Gesture set to "Launch default voice assistant". Google Assistant for me.
Use Google Assistant to open an app (example "Open Chrome").
Google Assistant will allow you to launch Chrome (or any other app you choose), and your device becomes unlocked automatically.
Is it the same as everyone?
For now, I have stopped using Edge Sense to launch Google Assistant. But what is interesting is, using Edge Sense to launch Camera, does not introduce this behaviour (i.e. device remains locked).
So I wonder is Edge Sense or Google Assistant at fault here?
I just tested this and it takes me to lock screen when trying to start GA via edge sense..

Not happening on my device. Tried both basic and advanced Edge Sense mode, when launching Google Assistant with squeeze, it required me to input my passcode

Do you have trusted voice setup? That would unlock phone if it recognized your voice. At least I think that is how it works.
Oh ya, make sure that you don't have smart unlock on as well

Sorry false alarm.

Google Assistant--User/setting errors?

Edit: So on my drive this morning after the 2nd command through Assistant things worked as they do through Google Now (speaking options, playing music). Took a week, which is quite odd (and not sure if it will continue working later). Might be a bluetooth issue which I am aware that there are many right now.
Started using my Pixel 2 last week and have noticed some 'issues' with Assistant commands over Google Now commands and am not sure if these are settings/user related as I would expect Assistant to be the same if not more feature packed than Google Now.
All the things I am listing work without issue through Google Now and on both my Pixel 2 and my previous Moto Z Play.
1. No voice prompt 'beep' when Assistant is activated. Google Now has a tone to let you know when it starts and stops 'listening.'
2. No talking back (responses) when sending SMS, setting reminders, setting calendar events, asking where the nearest 7/11 is, etc., when connected to vehicle system (2015 Grand Cherokee UConnect)
3. No starting music back up once the above #2 is complete. Have to hit the 'play' button after each command.
The one issue I have solved is that if you are experiencing a blank screen when using Google Assistant (not Google Now) to send/set things, turn back on animation scaling to anything other than 'off' and it should properly display the text.
So Google Now works much better for my uses. Unfortunately, the phone is built with Google Assistant so I have not found a way to default Google Now over Assistant with at least the 'ok Google' hotword (doesn't seem there is any control over Active Edge). Moto Z let you create your own voice activation phrase for Google Now--I really miss that.
But because Google Now works without issue I do not know If I am just missing some settings or more control options for Google Assistant. Any recommendations?

Google voice search keeps activating on watch

This has just started a couple of days ago. I'll be using my phone and spot that the location icon at the top of the screen has come on, then when I look at my watch the Google assistant is open asking what I want. I have OK Google switched off so how can this be?
Me too. I have a Michael Kors Grayson.
I switched voice commands off in the Google app on my phone. The Google assistant still works on my watch. Whatever caused this bug came in the latest version of the Google app on my phone.
Any chance you are accidentally pushing the power/menu button on the watch? On mine a long press of that button brings up the assistant (even if the OK Google voice activation is off)
