hah, was just about to post the KDZ for 10q, but since you posted this earlier I'll let you do it...
as for ABR, dial the following on the keypad *#546368#*918#
@runningnak3d is it possible 10q would remove ARB such that going from 10k to 10q would keep ARB at 0 or does 10q have to be at least ARB1 since 10p was ARB1?

10Q is ABR 01. Just checked. It's a September security update.
Sent from my LG V20 using XDA Labs
@runningnak3d abr version is still @ 1 on 10q
@dimm0k ARB is set on boot by the boot loader. There is a bank of qfuses in QFPROM that get blown -- it is a bitmask. So no, even though 10q is still ARB 1, that just means that the boot loader isn't set to blow any additional bits in the ARB qfuse bitmask. However, if you were on 10j or 10k and flashed 10q, it would blow the ARB qfuse the same as 10p did, and you would be stuck on ARB 1. On the flip side, if you are already on 10p, there is no reason to not go to 10q. If some security hole is found in 10p, you would be able to flash back to it.

I'm currently running FRD-L09C432B101 with a systemless root and systemless xposed, will these still work if I update to FRD-L09C432B120 ??
Still don't fully understand the systemless process since it seems you don't have to have an as specific root for each phone version as you do with a regular root, but that could also be me just not getting how it works when I rooted my phone the last time.
Thnx
//Jim
Normally, you can't update by OTA if you have root, and if you want to install a firmware the root will go
I have the same question as OP. I know root usually disappears when updating OTA but not sure how it works with this systemless technique.

Sure but I thought that the point with systemless root is that you are supposed to download and install OTA updates? And updates usually doesn't erase anything in my experience.

If you flash a fw the root will go, but for an OTA the phone will re-root itself because of the systemless root

As most of us have not been able to partake in the Oreo Beta program it would be nice if we could get some feedback from those lucky users that were able to get into the beta program.
Have you been able to unlock and root the Beta firmware?
What problems have you had?
Which new features do you like?

Unlock yes, root no.
Going system root might work. Systemless will be tricky as the boot partition is split into a ramdisk partition and a kernel partition. And some files that used to be in ramdisk could be in /system now, I haven't investigated much (this is the case with OPO3 Oreo).
But I like Oreo so I hope Magisk will work with it in the future.

Well I only need root to get rid of garbage app Huawei and other vendors install. In any case I can't imagine that SuperSu and Magisk won't figure it out.

I downloaded the Huawei Beta App here:
http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/fut/
Have applied, according to the app I am 4/500. The App looks very professional and well-designed. Looking forward to trying out Orea early, bravo Huawei. I'm not a rooter etc, will be using as a regular heavy user.
I rebranded to L29C636 from L09C34 a few weeks ago and just applied for the Australian Mate 9 Oreo update. Was 5/500, get in quick people
I am on Oreo since a week approx. and I am experiencing a limited responsiveness of the touch screen, especially on the bottom part esp. when navigation bar is hidden....anybody else making this experience?
Currently downloading B321a for C432. Going to check if I can get magisk working and if it's like OPO3 Oreo where stuff was moved from ramdisk to /vendor...

Yes I can unlock the phone with the Beta android O. I flash the twrp from:

Then I flash the supersu from :

I now have root on my android o. It is emui 8 not emui 6.
Make sure you flash twrp correctly by check out this page : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/development/preliminary-twrp-3-1-1-0-mate-9-emui-8-t3687622

I have no problem with android o so far. However I have not used all features available with android o. I do not really care for the new features of android o or emui 8 (picture in picture, hide navigation bar, floating dock,...). In fact I like the settings of the emui 5 better.

Yes, for whatever reason there is no 'a' mentioned under build number. The a is in the internal Huawei build number so FunkyHuawei shows it like that.
Under further review, the phones do report the 321a to FunkyHuawei's server as the installed version regardless, so if you finished the install it is 321a. Nothing to worry about.

Android O for C636 exists, but it's an older version from September, branded as EMUI 6, before they decided to make it EMUI 8. Probably newer beta one coming soon. There are new ones for C900 (hw/normal) branding, Latin America branding, Russia branding... I just haven't released them.

I didn't install it yet, just downloaded update.zip and those. Mainly to check vendor image without installing it...
Edit: oh, duraaraa already answered
I got all the three Oreo files too via the HiSiute method, since even with a correct DNS setting, wherever I could stick it I got "Package information download failed". Installed via the HWOTA successfully though. The Oreo test build is quite buggy when it comes to Wireless tethering and LTE speeds. Feels much slower then my N European 194 build so far. Shows "Phone Overheating" a lot too, something I never saw on my N build either. Have yet to see how long the battery will last. See few differences in the camera, maybe added zoom in raw mode. Still no Monochrome Raw, or 1080p Timelapses.
Changelog:
*Optimises VoLTE feature for a better calling experience.
* Optimises the display of some UI elements.
* Integrates Google security patches for improved system security.

This update greatly improved my battery life. I arrive at the end of the day with 40% to 50% (before I was arriving with 20%).
I was hoping that I could install Magisk and TWRP. I don't really care about custom ROMs, is it possible or am I out of luck? Some info about my device:
Build number is BKL-L04 8.1.0.105(C567)
EMUI is 8.0.0
Security patch is March 1, 2018
If it is possible, are there any guides?
Which 3rd party unlocking service should I go through? And before I proceed, should I update to the latest software version?
Thanks.

Nowadays Honor don't provide unlock codes, so you can't unlock bootloader to flash any TWRP or get root with Magisk.
There isn't 3rd party services to get the code
