CF Auto Root (September Update) with SuperSu - Xiaomi Mi A1 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey there ,
Now you all be would familiar with Cf auto root for August build which was founded by kratus90.
So here i managed to patch stock boot.img(September) which was provided by m.atif and all i did is replaced with August patched boot.img in Cf auto root folder and voila it worked.
NOTE: Magisk gave bootloop.
Supersu is working fine
Requirements
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. This Cf auto root September boot.img Rar File
3. Flashfire app
4. Latest supersu zip( download from down given in steps)
NOTE: Adb debugging should be enabled.
METHOD 1:
1. Download the CF auto root Rar file and extract it on your desktop
2. Open the the extracted file and navigate to image folder and copy the boot.img to ADB folder.
3.Now turn your device in fastboot mode and flash by using this code
Code:
fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
fastboot reboot
Or if above code doesn't work try this code
Code:
fastboot flash boot_a boot.img
fastboot reboot
After that open playstore and install SuperSu app.
Now reboot your device twice or thrice to check if root is still present.
For Those METHOD 1 Didn't worked try Method 2
METHOD 2:
1. Put your phone in fastboot mode by volume down + power key.
2. Connect to pc, ( make sure adb debugging is enabled)
3. Extract above zip anywhere in your desktop and run root.bat file.
4. Press any key and wait then press again any key and at last it will say on the screen to press any key again and then opened window will close on it's own
5. Den wait for few second until and unless your device boot's on your own.
6. Now don't reboot ur device and download Flashfire app from Playstore
7. Download latest supersu Zip Here
8. Open flashfire app and navigate to (+) sign
And select 'Flash Zip or Ota'
9. Navigate and select downloaded Supersu zip and don't select any options just click on tick button in right hand top corner
10. Then scroll down and click on EverRoot option and Select Inject supersu and click on tick option in right hand top corner .
11. Lastly click on FLASH Button
And wait for the process to complete and your device may reboot twice.
Test by any root checker app and enjoy.
And reboot ur device as many times you want root will never leave you
Hit Thanks if it worked for you.
Supersu app would be now present there in App drawer.

ROOT MiA1 without TWRP

Hi guys, i was looking to make twrp for this device but couldn't do it because lack of knowledge. so i searched and found about CF-Auto-Root.
fortunately i was able to generate one for mia1. now we can root this device without any recovery.
Requirements -
1. unlocked boot loader. :cyclops:
2. this Zip
3.adb debugging should be enabled
How to -
1. put your phone in fastboot mode by volume down + power key.
2. connect to pc, ( make sure adb debugging is enabled)
2. extract above zip anywhere in your desktop and run root.bat file.
wait for some time, when it boots up you should have root access . although you won't see any su app. tried with solid explorer and was able to edit build.prop. without any issues. enjoy
so with this we get root access, a question about unlocked bootloader, does A1 already unlocked bootloader since begining or we have to request it from Xiaomi or Google to get that?
hope with this we can use substratum on stock Android

No, it doesn't come unlocked, but you can unlock by either ---
1. requesting xiaomi for unlock code.
or
2. By using command " fastboot oem unlock" in fastboot mode.
i used 2nd method to unlock, it's just like unlocking a nexus phone.
Screenshot proof please Kratus
Can u upload or attach few screenshots of the root access working... Root checker or anything
Screenshots?
Well done!
Were you able to install any root apps SuperSU or Magisk? Post some screen shots if you can

Just extract the zip... Get the boot.img and flash it using fastboot...

Magisk Root without TWRP for OnePlus 6 Oxygen OS Android 10 Open Beta 5 | OOS 10.3.1

Latest TWRP doesn't support Android Pie 9.0 for OnePlus 6, or at least for me it didn't.
So, I've made a Magisk patched boot image for Android P that we can flash it in fastboot bootloader.
Note: This is not Oxygen OS ROM, this is just a patched boot img for Oxygen OS to make root work. You need to unlock the bootloader before proceeding with anything.
Note 2: Please disable Magisk modules in the Magisk Manager before flashing the patched boot, because some modules might not support the latest OOS and your device will bootloop. If the modules has been updated by the devs to support the latest OOS you can install the modules after that.
Note 3: Sorry guys, I haven't tested the Android Q Developer Previews. Even though Magisk is supported on Q, please flash it at your own risk.
For older versions download from here: Google Drive
Folder updated with Stock boot images as well.
OOS 10 Open Beta 5 Patched Boot
OOS 10 Open Beta 5 Stock Boot
OOS 10.3.1 Patched Boot
OOS 10.3.1 Stock Boot
Flashing instructions:
Code:
fastboot boot (patched_boot_filename_here).img
or
fastboot flash boot (patched_boot_filename_here).img
Thanks @vlaf
reboot to system (if you make another reboot the root won't stick, so continue with the following steps)
Open Magisk (in settings select beta channel) and click install and install Magisk again with Direct Install (recommended)
reboot again and the root will stick even after the reboot.
The thread I followed for the instructions is here. Thanks for @b1czu

Even easier way to root without TWRP:
1. Install OTA update (Don't reboot).
2. Open Magisk Manager, install Magisk and choose "Install to Inactive Slot (After OTA)" (Now reboot).
3. Now you are rooted without TWRP and without any boot img hassles as well.
wow dude that's useful. I don't need TWRP that bad but I need root to use Titanium backups.
Thanks man!

Easy way to install twrp is to fastboot boot twrp. From there, you must turn on adb sideload and push twrp to phone because it will not decrypt storage. After install, reboot to recover and it will ask for password to decrypt. Then just flash magisk to have root with working twrp. Also, you have to use twrp 3.2.2 or it will crash.

The first one, ctsProfile, fails. But the second one basicintegrity passes. I believe the only app I use that checks safetynet is PokemonGo and that works for me.

[OOS 5.1.11] Pre-Rooted Bootimage

Hi there,
OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS 5.1.11 update! According to this thread, I made a pre-rooted bootimage for you to flash
I used the guide on the mentioned thread and used Magisk Manager 5.8.3 (129) with Magisk 16.7
For those who'd rather like to do it on their own, I'll also attach the original bootimage of OOS 5.1.11.
Downloads:
- patched bootimage [MD5: 5EC7C328AEE0D38B43A2727BCD767378]
- original bootimage (5.1.11) [MD5: B6790A9D38F41E0EBC6830D1076FAFF0]
Video instructions:
The awesome @GizmoFreak made a nice step-by-step video for you! :good:
Special thanks for his guide at @b1czu, [MENTION=4470081 ]TopJohnWu[/MENTION] and @GizmoFreak! Please also give him a "thanks" :good:
UPDATE: Magisk 17.1 was released by @topjohnwu ! Many fixes and most important: "Install to inactive Slot (After OTA)" is back! Upgrading our ROM should now be much easier again since already rooted users don't need to use the whole fastboot thing again. However, for new 'unrooted' users, I'll still provide here the always latest patched bootimages.
Cheers,
T.Bear

Yes, if you whish to keep root. Otherwise your device would take the stock bootimage for the next boot again. This patched one is only for booting with 'temp' root privileges so that you can use magisk Manager to direct install the root stuff to the original bootimage.
does this pass the safety checks?
It's the same procedure as in the thread I mentioned! This is not a standalone 'project', just the missing bootimage for the latest OxygenOS update.
But to answer your question, yes if you follow the instructions on the mentioned thread it passes all checks.
Only if you install things like Xposed framework it won't pass.

I followed these steps -
1. Downloaded and installed 5.1.11
2. Downloaded patched 5.1.11 boot image
3. Rebooted phone to fastboot mode
4. Installed the patched boot image using this command -
Code:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot boot boot.img
5. Phone booted.
6. Opened Magisk Manager>Install>Direct Install (recommended)
7. Rebooted phone
8. Opened Magisk again, checked safety net, failed.
Then I used root checker, even that showed Safety net fail.
But I was able to Play Pokemon Go which relies on safety net
EDIT 1: Added 3rd command which I used but forgot to mention it here ?. Thanks GizmoFreak !

SafetyNet will show the response is invalid because Google recently updated the SafetyNet API. Now developers need to use an API key to access SafetyNet. We need to wait for Magisk to be updated.

SOLVED: Flashed Magisk zip from TWRP but no root

Sorry, its been quite a while since ive rooted and im new to Magisk. Im currently on November .a1 update. I followed the below tutorial
If starting fresh from November (.A1.) Update
Install November update
Download latest Magisk Beta (17.3) and move it to the internal storage of the device
Reboot to bootloader
Download the .img version of TWRP for "crosshatch"
In the location of downloaded TWRP .img, open cmd and enter
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-crosshatch.img
Allow twrp to boot (this will take a minute or two)
Then go to install and install the Magisk zip
Reboot and find magisk manager and make sure it says you're rooted
Until there is an update to the patched_boot.imgs, dont follow the how to beyond this point. In fact I am hiding it for the time being.

I usually verify root by downloading root checker app. App says that I'm not rooted.
EDIT: Nevermind, I tried it again and now it says I'm rooted. Thanks!
