Nope, it's up to the developers to tell us when they finish porting the new os to our device.

First rule of Android development, never ask for ETA

Lol, yes I know not to ask for an ETA. I was just curious if anybody knew roughly when to expect it as it's already available for the S5 and S6.

Can we expect development for J7 2016 SM-J710FN

I don't know if it's too early to ask this but stock marshmallow firmware for SM-J710FN is already there on sammobile. Is this what developers call sourcecodes, required for development purposes(kernels, etc) or do we still need to wait for some other source codes yet to be released by Samsung for SM-J710FN??

We may expect development because Samsung did released the source code. However, I think there aren't much developers who are using this device, as most developers prefers cheaper for better devices than this.
There is not much need as well. Our device is optimized pretty well and has best battery backup which one would need. We may even get the official Android Nougat.

If an exynos developer got it , it may get cm but cm on exynos is always buggy
what is the difference between SM-J710F and SM-J710FN? Are the roms compatible with each other?
I'm sure its a stupid question; I have just registered after lurking for a while.

Pure 6.0.1 Kernel

I saw this on reddit so I wanted it to post it here but motorola just released the 6.0.1 kernel for our phone via github:
https://github.com/MotorolaMobilityLLC/kernel-msm/releases/tag/MMI-MPH24.107-58
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3445644
Try it let us know. But 100% would say its bogus. Why would Motorola release 6.0.1 for clark when 7.0 is around the corner.

It certainly is not bogus that Motorola tagged this 2 days ago or so, whether it's an indication of anything to come, I don't know (doubt it). I assume we're skipping to 7.0 or 7.1, it was just interesting to me when I found it. Not interesting enough to start a thread here on XDA, but enough to drop it in here.

Has anybody tried running it yet? I'd be happy to guinea pig it up, but I use my phone for work now so I can only really mess with tested kernels, milestones, and weeklies.

Somebody needs to compile it first. But I wouldn't be surprised if you have used parts of this kernel in other 6.0.1 ROMs. Looking at the source code, it isn't new, also same build number as the 6.0.1 that some RetEu/RetAsia devices got.

I've been running it for 2 days, can't say I notice any significant difference from 6.0 source. But I don't tweak things much anymore

Official LineageOS support?

Hello all
Apologies if this question seems stupidly obvious but I want to make sure before I commit to this phone... I bought an S7 for T-Mobile and I think it's not supported by LineageOS just yet because it has a locked bootloader
I can see builds are being made for the herolte (S7), but I don't think the T-Mobile model falls into the unified builds as it runs a Snapdragon 820, rather than the Exynos 8890
So currently, the T-Mobile S7 IS NOT supported by LineageOS?
I thought LineageOS was for all devices
I thought it was build to run on any devices.

Well the lineageos website only lists the herolte in certain places but doesn't specify models. Based on info from xda I found out the above, but posts are old. So that's why I'm asking
Unfortunately there's not much for our device t mobile s7 i just got one a few months ago and Yea there isn't one single non tw rom for it.. I'm a little disappointed there isn't more roms for our device..

I live in Germany have a DBT S9+ and I always check this website. This firmware is there since ysterday. Maybe it's Pie because all current Builds have a B in the firmware for example BRJ3 is the current one! And here CRJ9.
This is Android Pie, but i cant download this firmware. I dont know how. What app you use to download from this site?

You can't. All you can do is check the latest firmware version on sammy server. Pie in the sky, literally.
The 'pie' firmwares have been on the list there for quite a long time btw.
There are seven previous test Pie versions in the list.
Could any of the testers enlighten us please ?
I am waiting for this since the SD beta came out. Now lets just hope that we will have something to download and flash soon.
Be patience, few more days for you guys, not so long. and sorry, we cannot provide you guys pie for the exynos variant.

Do you mean a few more days until the beta starts or a few more days until a flashable firmware will be available for Exynos?

No if you love in a European country like Germany, France, the UK and some more there's a really high big and intense chance that you will be able to participate in the official beta program.
A new firmware is under testing. New Pie Build. No number at the end so maybe a final firmware close to the one we will see for the beta program?

Kinda hope so, we Exynos users feel kinda wronged with this. What's the problem with doing Snapdragon and Exynos for beta testing ?
Damn you Samsung! This doesn't look good on you!

This drive me crazy, i'm really exited to try new Samsung Experience, even i know that new ui is a mess.
So guys it's almost November. Last year the 2nd November Samsung announced the Beta Program which was a Thursday. So let's hope that Samsung is announcing the start for the beta program tomorrow on the 1st November.
Fingers crossed!
I don't think it will happen tomorrow. The last two years there were always a few Z-firmwares (beta firmwares) on the server before the beta was announced, but at the moment there is nothing to see for the Exynos variant.
And also the last years, the beta FAQs were released a few days before, which is not the case so far.

I think It's better to wait note 7 pie port rom for s7 and s7 edge.
Very little chance for sammy will release pie update. S7 already received 2 major update.
Deleted.
Fake, bro, S7 won't recive Pie (official)

It is true.. it's wifi certification test on android pie.. it's going to be the first Samsung phone receiving 3 major OS updates
Certificates were revoked. Likely somebody playing a prank or some other screwups. No Pie for S7/S7E- least of all for us in the US (we get screwed either way).
