Hi, Thank you for your restlesa work.
So when you said to replace files from stock rom to port rom, what exactly to you mean? Do you mean our Mtk 6592 kit kat stock rom to port rom or you mean we must find another Mtk 6592 nougat that matches our phone specs? Please do clarify.
And How exactly are going to get to patch those files since our stock rom both files are .img e.g system.img, boot.img and so on. Please forgive my ignorance.

Glad you liked the ROM. The volume is same as the Stock ROM but the quality is much better.
Will this work on Micromax A90 too? Is it safe to try it on the A90?

hi,
More custom Roms are available in Russian forum.. for Star N8000, Haipai i9220, dapeng A9230+.
These devices specifications match with Karbonn A18 specifications. I am sure that, you will not get device brick, If you flash these.
But do it on your own safety. I have tested above 10 firmwares from russian forum, here - http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewforum.php?f=46
in my NXG Phablet (Dapeng A9230+). There is no device brick for me (Gods grace) , while flashing through Clockworkmod recovery.
But (you know that), you have to keep your device's boot kernel for test those Roms.. Use your device boot image for use with following ICS 4.0.6 custom Rom
http://rusfolder.com/32791255
replace your Karbonn a18 ics boot image with the downloaded file. (Unzip and replace boot image and Rezip for flashing through Clockworkmod recovery)
for detail go here - russian foum for Star N8000 (use google translate) - http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?p=659135#p659135
If you have MIUI and Lewa Boot kernels, (modified for your device), you can test MIUI and Lewa ROms in my following thread through CWM recovery.

Anyway you can get more MTk6575 ROms here from Russian forum - http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewforum.php?f=46

Try the custom ics roms from my signature link.
(My xfab thread). Replace your current or stock boot.img in the downloaded ics roms and flash through clockwork mod recovery.
While flashing through clockwork mod recovery, it will not brick your device. Always have a current rom backup.
Flashing other mobile roms through smartphone flashtool is a risky way. Don't try. But, flashing through Clockwork mod is not a risky way and it won't brick your device.
So, if you want, try from my xfab thread.

Just wondering... There's no kernel included so what W8 versions do you suppose this ROM will work on?
I flashed it on my W8 8GB running Eastcom W1 kernel (instead of official THL)
Suprisingly, it booted but I am not able to get past the lockscren with SIM inserted - I am asked to enter PUK code (which I don't know) instead of PIN code...

I didn't include the kernel because it breaks XDA GPL Policy
If I am not wrong if we are including a kernel in the rom .zip package we have to provide the links for Kernel Source which unfortunately MTK Device Makers don't provide
@mark manning: Can I include a kernel in my rom without the kernel sources
EDIT: Here is the boot.img/kernel for the rom

@nolinuxnoparty
which languages does your ROM include ?
@C3C076
could it be a good base for ThL W8 8GB you're working on ? I'd really like to test MIUI v5... but was unabled to test it in French on my ThL W8 8GB... also do I with Lewa UI.
A base? For what? I'm not sure if I understand.
If you mean languages. These have to be ported into this ROM. As far as I know there are language files for rom available directly on official miui sites.
Try here http://miui-france.org/

I tell you in an other manner :
I know you've already worked on MIUI ROM for other phones, are you interested in working on MIUI ROM for ThL W8 ?
Well, as I've already said in gm2 thread. I'm not a fan of miui. I prefer vanilla Android. I'd rather dedicate my free time to further development of GravityBox instead which I find far more interesting than porting ROMs. Miui for Zte skate was just a play for couple of days and basically it was the very old one running gingerbread. Since ICS, I've been mainly building ROMs from source (ics paranoidandroid, aospa, rootbox, slimbean which I managed to get working on armv6 CPU). Since building from source is currently not possible on mtk6589, I'll at least continue bringing in new features via xposed framework. Targeting more mtk6589 devices, not just w8, makes more sense to me.
I understand.
and once more : thank you for all your work

Hey. I guess you can unpack "rom.zip" and replace with new boot.img. Rebuild the zip with winrar, for example, and reflash flash it.
It's just a trick, didn't test because I'm away from home.

In facts there is no boot.img inside the zip file... that's why I'm wondering if I should flash it through SP Flash Tools.

Hi all! And now... my program on XDA
This program is designed for porting MTK ROMs, for other MTK devices...
It contain several of example projects, that you can use, to make your project for your device... examle projects is designed only for single platform porting (MT6575 to MT6575, MT6577 to MT6577, e.t.c.), but you can create project to port ROM from MT6589 to MT6577 If you can find out what files are needed for this... it depends only on you...
System requirements:
OS: Windows Vista - Windows 7
Additional
PC: .NET framework 4.0 and above, JDK
Phone: root access, adb root
Short instruction to use:
1. Run program
2. Change lang, if you need
3. Choose project and edit it for your device
4. Get your files from zip ROM, ft ROM, folders or phone
5. Get files from ROM to port
6. Edit updater-script, build.prop, repack boot.img if you need
7. Build ROM and flash it
8. If don't work - goto step 2, or replace some files manualy

P.S. Why it open source for now?:
1. Now i don't have any MTK device and waiting for release MT6595...
2. I want to add making flashtool images without device, but i don't know how to do it... (looks like with linux you can create ext4 image... image size pick up from scatter, perms from updater-scripd, or just RW-R--R--)

Maybe it was because you used the old version... many of bugs was fixed in latest version, while i tried to make guide... Or you needed in some others files to run ported ROM...
The easiest way to check why you take this errors is try to make ported ROM manualy, by using any instruction and files from some project...
This program usefull only if you knows, that needed for you device to run ported ROM and completely useless if no...

If your zip/image is correct, after getting files, they must be placed on: %ProgramDir%/WorkDIR/%CurrentlyChoosedProject%/YourFiles
And programm checking exist of folder system inside this dir...
P.S. If you use system.img from MTK droid root&tools, then it must havw name system.img, not system.ext4.img(rename it)...

You have two ways:
1. You can replace kernel by your in ported boot
2. You can replace bootclasspath in your ramdisk (rmdisk/init.rc)
Also you can try to modify scripts to working with WinXP or working with any Win ver. (write detection of windows version and some string for some versions... or replace some strings by working on any windows version)... if you make it for any version, just give me a link and i will add edited scripts in next version (of cource if others functions works on WinXP)... needed to edit imgpack.cmd and imgunpack.cmd (%ProgramDir%/Bin)...

Yes, it can mix any ROM, but to do it, needed some configures... for example, to take only baseband needed to do something like this:
1. Clear project and add only system/etc/firmware
2. YourROM - choose ROM that contained needed for you baseband
3. ROMtoPORT - check META-INF, choose yourROM
4. uncheck auto boot.img repack, build ROM
this is only exemplary steps, because this program not intended for this functions...
Thanks!
Thanks bro... I've used this tool for a long time, it's so good.

Hi all! And now... my program on XDA
Additional
PC: .NET framework 2.0 and above, JDK
Phone: root access, adb root
Short instruction to use:
1. Run program
2. Change lang, if you need
3. Choose project and edit it for your device
4. Get your files from zip ROM, ft ROM, folders or phone
5. Get files from ROM to port
6. Edit updater-script, build.prop, repack boot.img if you need
7. Build ROM and flash it
8. If don't work - goto step 2, or replace some files manualy

To get a quick answer to your question - send them via email...

This is not an "official" release, it's a leak. LlabTooFer said it was a pre-release build in his other thread.

Is a system dump not a rom it doesn't have the meta inf folder so it won't be installed just by flashing , and yes it's stock.

It's not meant to be flashed, read the first post, it's for developers and advanced users (allows them to make their own ROM's, mods etc).

Thank you for this suggestion but looking at root of rar file it does not look like twrp backup. So I will say NO. It is not flashable or twrp restoreable.
Q: Is it Flashable?/Why can't I Flash this?/ ETC
A: This is a System Dump and not at all meant to be flashed in anyway. Dev's will be using this System Dump to PORT their ROM to this version. Read the First Post. This is for DEVS ONLY for this reason.
IMO, this thread should be closed as newb's are getting confused. It would have been awesome for some dev chats in this thread but unfortunately people aren't understanding the concept of a dump.
DONT FLASH THIS...

ROM: AOSP 5.0.2 for MT6582
Based on: MTK AOSP build by Blu
Kernel version: 3.10.54+
Codename: aurora
SDK version: 21 ( Not a themed KK rom )
About the firmware:
Android 5.0.2 for aurora is being released by me with certain modification and tweaks added to BLU's D651 LTE device. So, I patched the ROM to make it stable on our device.
Removed some apps, added PureAOSP modifications and new Lollipop bootanimation.
With pretty awesome "Google powered by Android" boot logo.
Pretty awesome screenshots:
Pre-requisite:
Knowledge of using SP Tool
Xolo Q2500 or Blu D650a working or soft bricked
Common sense
Offcourse the Firmware Package
MTK VCOM Drivers installed
Download:
Aurora Lollipop Firmware
SP_Tool_v5.1428.00 to flash
Installation:
Download and Extract 2 Packages(aurora_***_unofficial.rar and LP_Files) and SP Tool
In aurora firmware, extract files of LP_Files which got MT_**_Scatter.txt, Cache and Preloader_**.bin
Now get into SP Tool and choose scatter MT6582_Android_scatter.txt
After choosing it, tick all the checkbox and choose Firmware Upgrade from "Download Only" dropdown
Power off device, and start Download in SP Tool
After starting Download connect device and then the progress will start with RED then Read back and then format later it will flash.
Wait till flash is complete and Green tick come.
Power on the device and Enjoy Lollipop

Its based on new kernel 3.10.54 so you need a upstream kernel to port it.

A Question about Multi User...
Hey there! Just a quick question Rohan. Does your port support the Multi User feature? And also, thank you so much for porting this rom unto our D650a Studio 6.0 HD!

*Rohan. You need to make adb insecure using Chainfire's app.
For bluetooth I ain't sure as I personally doesn't use Bluetooth to share stuff. Wifi-Direct is better option for the same.

what about the audio? Pls help me to fix
I ran into an error ( pmt_info ). I noticed that except for pre loader and cache, none of the files get location address in sptools when I select the scatter file from lp files. tried downloading fresh copy n unzipping couple of times but the issue persists. Any leads ????

Buddy, I suggest you to use latest SP Tool version and also check Firmware Upgrade option is selected in drop down (it will check all the files).
Hey there!
Absolutely amazing job on this! Revived my old g3 gsmart saga (clone of the BLU). The rom works flawlessly.
One thing I can't get my head around is the root... tried everything - is it even possible with this ROM?
