Hello Guys,,I accidentally Flashed G930T Firmware On My G930F Phone - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Yesterday I Bought G930F Device Working Great And Officially G930F Then I Flashed G930T Firmware by accident
And G930T bootloader is locked i can't flash G930F firmware
What Should I do???I tried to intitialize Device With Smart Switch But It says device not supported
I have Rooted G930T 7.0 Noughat and i would like to go back to my G930F 7.0
Any Idea?

So you didn't hard brick your device? I thought the G930F was Exynos and any US firmware would kill it. I'm not too sure if this will work but have you tried using Flashfire to go back to the G930F firmware?

No I didn't hard brick my phone but the bootloader changed completely to US and I Can't Do Anything to go back with odin
and with flashfire i can't flash bootloader it says partition protected
i tried to flash G930F System With flashfire but ended up with no samsung logo
i tried smart switch to intialize device with my model name and serial number that written on back of my device but it says
(The Model Information That You Have Entered Cannot Be Verified; The Device Initialization Cannnot Procced Please Contact The Service Center)
So Smart Switch Didn't Work,,FlashFire Didn't Work,,,Odin Not,,,I Guess I Should Contact The Service Center
And I'm In Kurdistan,Iraq So No Service Center In My Country
Any Way To Flash A G930F Bootloader without Any Problem??Because My Device Is Exynos And It Should Be A Reason For Success
This Is Insane Right?

Have you tried the prince comsy version of Odin?

Okay so are you 100% positive your device is G930F and not U? Because I don't think your phone should even be booting if you flashed a Snapdragon firmware on an Exynos phone.

Yes Because Before I Flashed G930T Firmware I Tested Geekbench And It Was Exynos 8890 Octa
And Other Applications That I have Tested It Was Exynos 8890 Octa
And On My Back Of My Device Serial Number And Model Name Is Good
I'm %100 Positive That My Device Is G930F Because Before I Flash G930T Firmware The Bootloader Was G930F
And Beside All Of That On The New G930T Firmware I Feel That My Device A Little Laggy And Not Running The System Perfectly

Maybe you could find the latest F update.zip and flash it through recovery?

Worth a shot? I mean it might brick your phone but if you really need F it might be your only option at this point.

Hey All,
Just bought a second hand s6 g920 and the back of the phone says g920F but the software on it says G920p. How can this even happen and how can i fix it?
i'd rather have g920F firmware as that is the international one and has more xda community support.
thanks in advance
Same problem... can anyone help?

DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE OF SM-G920F from sammobile.com and flash it thorugh odian. it is quite easy.
most likely the previous owner has damaged the phone and back glass was replaced.
Put phone in download mode anf check the model number (it cannot be changed ).. Its easy .. Just use a little your brain...

I know you can't wait to try marshmallow on the i variant. The marshmallow bootloader and modem are meant for F variant. Best wait for unifed S6 rom or official I variant marshmallow.

are you on 920F VOD? or locked to any carrier?
if not locked, you can flash the unlocked versions of MM 920F, as I dont think you need pit files as some guys have flashed 920F MM over 920F 5.1.1 without pit.
Tried several times with ODIN. Fails everytime. Lost my phone data as well while trying when I formatted everything without a backup. I am a Certified retard!
Ok so myself and also some other people on the Australia post have tried to flash the G920F MM firmware (VOD or XEF) on a G920i and it has never worked - coming from a Custom 5.1.1 Rom or an official 5.1.1.
Odin simply refused to flash the firmware so you actually don't lose any data and don't damage your phone.

Hi
Have your firends and you tried to convert your G920i 5.1.1 to a G920f 5.1.1 first, before trying to update to MM?
I ask because one user up in the thread said that he had successfully flash a Mexico G920f 5.1.1 firmaware to his G920i 5.1.1 phone.... but he did not flash with MM, because he was scared of flashing a pit file...
Thanks!

yes but in odin mode show sph-720t not gt-i9505

ok your firmware is sprint, what Odin showing is the correct one, search for cwm for sph-720t.
DO NOT FLASH ROM VIA ODIN, flash new cwm or twrp recovery, then flash new rom through recovery. your firmware is most likely sph-720t which is sprint

Model Problem

Hi!
Sorry guys. I have a Galaxy S7 device (it's processor is Snapdragon 820) with build number: G930FXXU1APGJ (witch should be Global Version) and different Baseband Version: G930VVRU2APG5 (witch is for US Verizon Devices)!
In Device Setting it shows Model number: SM-G930F and when I go to Downloading mode (Volume down + Home key + Power button) it shows that my device name is G930V !!! and i can't update my device with Odin.
my Question is: Does my device get android updates?
and why my device is different???
sorry for bad english.
please help me. tanks!
Sounds like the model number has been faked in Settings, always trust download mode, you phone is G930V if that is what it says in download mode

but i don't use Verizon SIM. it sound like my phone is factory unlocked or something like that.
i try to update my device to android 7 beta G930FXXU1ZPK4 with Odin. but all time it shows this error: "Repartition Operation Failed"
so can you say does my device get OTA android updates or not?(it seems that my hardware is G930V and software is G930F)

Of course it failed, your phone is not a G930F, it is a G930V, you have to flash G930V firmware to it, or risk a brick
Same thing used to be done with Galaxy S5, people would fake F model to sell better

Simply put. There is no bloat. You'll get all the features samsung intended on their phones. You won't get features from carrier phones.
but in G955U1 the bootloader is locked

I have been asking a lot about this myself. i am on tmobile. not sure if i want to make the leap to unlocked. want to keep visual voicemail, wifi calling, rcs support and what not. but i want to get in on the beta for pie. running drl7 now but the video bug with netflix and what not is annoying.
The u1 is bootloader locked. The u firmware is bootloader locked
If you own a u device and it is not sim unlocked the only advantage u1 firmware give is carrier bloat.
The u1 firmware can be flashed on a u device. But other than listed above no other perks come from this.

I can semi-confirm this. From the recovery menu I can select bootloader and it boots to SOMETHING.....but it looks like it's booting to their downloader version and not what people would traditionally see from a normal bootloader screen. I do know this screen does NOT work for having the phone detected by Platform Tools so no way to use that at all as far as I can see. UGH. I swear I should have just bought a Pixel 2 when I had the chance. GODS Samsung is annoying. :crying:

When you click reboot to bootloader it takes you to what as known as download mode which is how we flash stock firmware. And maybe a couple other things but yea mainly for stock firms. Its used by a program called odin and the latest is 3.13 i believe.

Yea hopefully someone will respond to my main question in the noobie thread. Or maybe you would know. So I know Odin is the program Samsung uses to load new ROM on a phone. And I thought I read somewhere that there was a modified version of Odin that someone made that could install new/different ROM's. But I also saw in another message that either the current version of Odin, or the current version of the modified Odin could still load other ROM's and that someone had tested this. So that was my original primary question.
Is there a way I can use one or the other to load a Stock Android Pie ROM like what might come with a Pixel so I can avoid all the garbageware from Samsung? Or is there a chance doing that, that I would have some of my hardware features disabled since that seems to be an issue loading a ROM from another phone? And if so. Has anyone made a ROM for Samsung phones with all the garbage programs removed? Or is it still too early in the release of Pie for Samsung for that to be a reality right now?
Thank You for the info.

There is a pie beta I don't know if it is official yet. If you flash the unlocked firmware I've read you lose features like WiFi calling and volte. But I have not tried pie or unlocked firm ware on mine. There is a thread on installing safestrap then doing a rooted system images then from there depending on the flashed image if you do debloat. Again I haven't tried the new root method. I'm still on a really old revision from end of 2017

Ok thanks for the info. So apparently right now it's just a bit too early to be trying to find a Pie ROM that would work with my phone and not loose some hardware features. Which I guess makes sense since Samsung is only just now releasing it for S9's I believe in european countries I guess primarily to make sure how they borked it with their own software and tweaking didn't totally screw up their phones. Heh.
Oddly enough I got all excited when I saw it said there was an update today, but all it was for was a security update to bring it up to "Feb 1st, 2019" Android security level.
Thanks for the info about things. :good:
