Hey I was wondering if anyone can link me to a super simple guide on how to root my Samsung Galaxy S6, I don't care if I trip Knox or not, I just don't want to lose all my files, thanks .
I'm on 5.1.1
My Carrier is AT&T
My Version is G920A
My Kernel is from 9/19/15
I'm looking for the same thing... or any solution to help using Titanium Backup or something similar.
I've just bought a s6 (coming from a Note 2) and all my apps are saved with Titanium backup
From my experience, DON'T root your 5.1.1. If it was 5.0.2, you could do it easily with CF-autoroot. There are some unofficial root method and a root called "pingpong" root. Try search for that. I rooted my 5.1.1 and it have been bricked for almost a week now. It can't be fixed.
does it prevent me from rooting or does it do something worse? i have no idea. im a complete noob and i want to be able to unroot later

Hi and welcome to XDA!
No. If you trip knox while rooting your phone then samsung pay is gone forever. There is no way to reverse this.
That's all it does.
Hi,
Sorry if this has been said in a thread, i have read a few but i am so confused.
So far with my device i've only flashed XSA.
I'm wondering if it's possible to root this model S8+ without losing Samsung pay & KNOX?
Thank you
No.
Hi, couldn't post on any other article related to this because I am new to XDA. Sorry about that.
Is it really possible that i can use knox on s7 edge after I have rooted it?
I had rooted my phone and now I am back to official rom and recovery but knox and private folder apps of Samsung are not working and I really want to use phone with full functionality..
Thanks!
So i have a verizon s6 running 7.0
baseband g920vvrs4dqk1
build # nrd90m.g920vvrs4dqk1
security patch nov.1 2017
I also have an at&t s6 edge running 7.0
baseband g925aucs7erc1
build # nrd90m.g925aucs7erc1
security patch march 1 2018
So I've been searching for months looking for info on xda and the web to get root for them but from everything I've found says it's not possible without tripping knox.. but everything seems to either brick, boot-loop or is not legit.
What I want to know is:
Can I get root for either one of them?
I'm not worried about the warranty since they are already expired or Knox since if I can get root I'd like to get rid of it all together and I really want them rooted so I can get a debloat Rom for them and play around with them..
So can someone please help me and give me some good news for Christmas... thanks for any time, help and/or advise it's greatly appreciated and respected
You can't root any AT&T and Verizon variant of S6 series (S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus) no matter what.

Because the locked bootloader? That sucks.. was hoping it was just because of the warranty and no one wanting to avoid it...

Yeah, the root tool is free. But not others. Just have a try.
Ok I'll give it a shot...
