Network/signal antenna coax cable needed - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I broke my network/signal antenna coax cable while doing screen replacement.I was able to get some signal after grounding and soldering a small wire, but apparently the network(data connection too) is not as good as when it was with the coax cable(of course).
I tried searching the accessories forums and all relevant threads, but couldn't found any link that isn't dead.
After googling,I could find some sellers on eBay.com and banggood.com,but sadly they don't ship to my place(that's rude of 'em).
Now,I really am in need of that coax cable to really use my OPO as daily driver, while travelling or using data connection(switches every time to 2G)..it doesn't really come handy anymore. It is not anything firmware related, that's I'm sure of,because before that coax cable incident, everything was working fine.
That's my sad story.. :crying:
If anyone know of any site or seller that sells that coax cable(except banggood and eBay.com, you know the reason),please do let me know so that I can use my OPO as daily driver again, otherwise I'll have to buy another device(which I really don't want).

how about aliexpress

Hello..
Thanks for the recommendation, but do you think it will be possible to get just one piece? I really don't need another antenna, just a single piece would do.
P.s: Just did a quick search in aliexpress and found that the link you shared is the only product available,so I'm just gonna order that,as it is much cheaper than the ones available on eBay.com and eBay.in(would've been quite feasible, but prices are just too high).
Actually it is first time I'm ordering from Aliexpress, and it is good to see that there are some buyer protections, but the max time of arrival is estimated as 60 days..they'll initiate refund if product is not delivered in 60 days.I don't think it would take that much for the product to arrive from China to North India. The max I can think of is 3 weeks.Have you ordered any item from aliexpress? If yes,can you tell me how much time it took for your product to arrive?
Thank you,again.
Ps2: I don't know why it is mentioned as WiFi antenna even though WiFi has nothin' to do with that antenna. That antenna is related to network only.
Ps3:Bought it at about 270INR.
Ps4: Sh*t happened! There is another product in 0.89USD!! Should've bought that!!
Is it somehow possible to revert my payment and cancel the order??! Please reply Asap..!
Ps5: I was able to cancel the order, the status now says 'order cancelled, refund processing'.
Do you know how much time it could take for a refund?
Also, @evronetwork ,you use aliexpress a lot..maybe you can help me with this?

You can't really predict the arrival time of the order. Its very variable and depends on the shipping method. I have ordered a lot from aliexpress and some orders arrived within 25 days while some other took 45+ days and there were 2 which never arrived. But there's nothing to worry because if you don't receive the order you will get an assured refund.
Your refund should get processed within 10 days. You can trust aliexpress though, they are professional enough.

Stopped recently using aliexpress and warning others to do so. I've used aliexpress for years well... if a seller is bad(cross roads with about 4 of them - really really bad not just negative) ...you can lose money, aliexpress protects sellers rather than buyers
So unless you don't mind losing some money avoid them

But what about refund tho? Refund of cancelled order? It's still processing even though I cancelled the order just after payment.
Btw,another order which I did, shipped today.I used Aliexpress 'cause the prices were cheap, otherwise I always use eBay.
I won't do any other order on Aliexpress, but I can't really take the risk to cancel the shipped order. :/

well if you have TOO many evidence ...you'll get your money, you might lose 20-30 days but you'll get it
Now if you want to cancel or send the item back for some reason ..and the seller is bad? you'll lose your money
You see you can open a dispute to cancel or send the item back BUT if the seller doesn't accept this, aliexpress doesn't do anything ...they say talk to the seller and when the time is out and the dispute has to close? it ends with sellers win - So he gets the money, amazing? ...sure it is
Cancelling an order and getting the money back it's up to sellers choice, if he's good it's ok ..if he's not well expect to be @!#@!#%

Okay,so I got the pm from seller. She says 'Since you cancelled the order just after placing it,we never got the money.Your money is safe with Aliexpress. They'll refund the money to you after processing it i.e., within 10 days.If you don't recieve your money even after 10 days, kindly contact Aliexpress customer service.'
Does this actually mean I'll get my refund? Tbh,I don't know what's making the refund late..I mean I cancelled the order just after placing it,so the refund shouldn't take that long, right?
I seriously should've used eBay and paid a few more bucks.Their service is much better imho.

Yeah if you cancelled before they press send you are safe - They usually press "send" even if they send it a few days later, sometimes 10+ business days later - You're in luck
Ebay is safe but usually more expensive and this paypal convertion is "stealing" for sure but better safe than sorry I guess - Usually ebay sellers don't ask for any proof if things go south, in aliexpress? expect both seller and aliexpress to ask for as much proof as you can get and you might be lucky
Just wish ebay had the variety that aliexpress has, aliexpress has much more products and little parts than ebay like 10 times more
When repairing, tablet, phones, photocopiers, laptop, printers etc ...you need little parts most of the time and having hard time to find one single place like aliexpress did - but enough is enough, can't waste money or time to prove I'm not an elephant.

Hello again. It's been 8 days and I still haven't got my refund. The seller said that I'll get refund in max 5 days. How can I contact Aliexpress about this issue?
Now,seriously, such waiting time for getting a refund for order which I cancelled as soon as I placed?! Disgusting!
Ps: Apparently, they were having national holidays in china from Oct1-Oct8.Just great!
Could this be a reason for late refund processing?

Don't worry banks do take a bit, for 45 days since the first purchase you are secured(more or less) - also in aliexpress they do check the messages between the buyer and the seller - so don't worry too much

[Q] No Nexus S for me

[Mods - i hope this is the right forum to post this..sorry if it isn't]
That's it folks ... I guess there is no gingerbread+nexus S love coming my way :'(
I've been dying to get this phone since the day it released... ESPECIALLY because it's such great value for money ..
BUT - I'm in Dubai ...and it wud cost me a total of about $700+ to get this mean boy shipped safely to me
[$530+$5 case + $45 sales tax + ~$120 shipping]
Does ANYBODY know a better way to get it here?
I don't want to buy it off ebay or somewhere else, because I want someone i trust to 'test' the device for problems (and exchange it if needed) before shipping it here...
Help anyone?
[and please don't beat me up for asking!]
They are cheaper here in canada
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
They'll be in Italy soon, closer than America, plus the Italian version will have 720p and a Super LCD.
Interesting ....
I have an iPhone 3g now ..and it's nearly dead [literally]
i see it choke every few minutes ... so I'm slowly preparing to put it back in its original packaging and bury it somewhere..
I can keep waiting till a European one comes about .. but from the articles I've read, i think the reduced shipping cost wud be offset by a higher up-front (529 Euros) price
Till then i'll keep praying my iPhone survives...
@the_ahmadzais: I was under the impression that it hasn't been released anywhere BUT US and UK till now? I couldn't find any google hits that talked of a Canada release, but i probably am wrong..
still ..is there a subtantial diff in prices?
it's mainly the shipping cost that is killing me ... 120$ !! [that + taxes count for 25% of the total bill to get it here!
*ouch* ]
It's been my observation that it's common practice for sellers to overcharge for shipping. Basic one-week shipping to Dubai from the United States via USPS is about half that. Of course, if you want to use a specific carrier (UPS, FedEx, et cetera) or add extra services, it costs more. But honestly, most of that stuff is just a way for the parcel service to squeeze more money out of you. I've been selling and buying online for years, and I've yet to have a package lost or grossly mishandled. If anything's been broken in transit, it was because the seller did a crappy job packaging it. Also, state sales taxes vary. Here in Oregon, there is no sales tax. So the break even point for buying and shipping a Nexus S for me would be roughly $590. Even in states with the highest sales taxes, that only goes up by about $50. So if you're buying from the U.S.- unless you're insisting either on super express shipping (less than a week) or some form of package insurance which would add to the cost- I would consider anything above $650 at most to be pure seller profit.
This non-availability is an android bug imho

This wouldn't be no problem if the gingerbread reference phone was available as developer phone. Obviously google refuses to notice that there are android developers outside the USA.
This issue already has been reported as a bug. Star it. ;-)
Ya basically the ups shipping is expensive and the phone is 500 at some local stores Asian dealers. Its coming to all Canadian providers on March.

Abilash, I understand the feeling ... frustration. I was in the same boat as you ... think you even commented about it.
I got a friend to buy it (am in Kuwait). Initially I thought I'd make the payment through paypal and get it shipped to him. On trying to complete the process, paypal through up a message saying that my paypal location does not allow shipping to the desired location (US - CA) and therefore payment cannot be completed :-s whatever that meant.
Anyway, my friend ran a quick check ... nothing detailed (checked for bad screen issues, loose volume controls and back button problem), but it back in the box and shipped it to an Aramex mailbox address in New York. Cost him $16.90 including insurance.
The item has yet to reach the address, but one its there, I understand Aramex will automatically ship it to the Kuwait address of the holder of that box. Again, I understand that the shipment cost to Kuwait should be about KD.5 or 6 (about $18/-) plus a possible customs tax of KD.3 or 4 (about $13/-).
You could either find some friend that has this box already or may prefer to apply for a box if you intend to do a lot of purchase from the US.

Super Clear LCD has been confirmed, but 720p was just a mistake: some idiot thought that 720x480 is 720p, and if only one person says it, it goes around the internet in no time.
There is a possibility that 720p video recording will come to the Nexus S in the future. Some say it can be done with an update...
Finally getting somewhere with the shipping issue
Really nice to see people offering their two cents..
thank you!
@zorak - the massive addition causing the price to jump beyond the $650 mark is only the shipping cost @120 ... I am using fedex's/ups' online estimate tools to approximate shipping cost... I understand that the estimates wud be off by a bit vs. the actual cost... but I doubt it would be a a $50 drop ...probably a $10 drop ..
i will ask my friend to check if they have other/slower delivery options costing lesser though (the online estimate only shows 'speedy' trnfrs...
@Paparasee: opening that aramex box idea was something i DID NOT know of!
even after adding the initial setup fee of $35 to the $16.90 (shipping to new york) and $31 (shipping to Kuwait) ..the total cost STILL works out to be cheaper than the 120 that fedex and UPS are asking for
how has your experience been so far with the Aramex box? i.e. my packages/the phone wouldn't be lost in transit yea?
on another note-- my brother and I have been putting off amazon purchases SOLELY because of shipping costs .. I didn't know such a thing existed !

i'll not choose a SLCD it's not comparable to SAMOLED
i've played with the SLCD from the next HTC phones, and they are not lively, it lacks the vivid display of the SAMOLED
so if the buyer wants a SAMOLED display, it'll need to purchase the America version, UK version is also SAMOLED
if they don't mind the low quality of the SLCD then they can buy the Euro version with SLCD

The only reason to use UPS or FedEx is if the postal service in either the sending or receiving country is corrupt or dysfunctional. Shipping via the postal service will get your package to its destination in only a few more days and for literally half or less the cost. UPS and FedEx are ripoffs.

Experience ... well, can't tell you yet cause the package will probably reach my friends box today or tomorrow (saved $35 since my friend has one already ). But, my friend has been using his box for ages ... no problems, no lost stuff. As soon as the "stuff" hits your box, you'll get an email notifying you of movement in your box. Forgot to add ... it was distortedloop that advised me to "buy the extra insurance coverage" when opting to use the US postal service for shipping to NY. ... thanks again distortedloop

I thought the Nexus S hardware had a bottleneck in the memory bus that prevented full frame rate 720p recording; at least that was the chatter last month around here.

@Paparasee -- any info on your fone yet?
@abhilashraj ... YEAH!!! I finally got it. My friend dozed of and forgot about the package. He finally brought it to me by about 8.30 or 9pm.
About your queries ...
a) Aramex did not add a separate box nor add anything to the box packed by friend. They just sealed it with their tape.
b) The phone was in its box and that was put into a little bigger box by the Best Buy guys when they shipped it ... I presume that all that ordered it online got it that way cause I saw a video of an unboxing of the NS and that had a similar external box.
c) Not sure about the others, but my friend said that he did put a couple of bubble packs into the box so that there would be no play area for the NS box. This did not add any weight.
d) My friend paid USD.16.90 to ship it from CA to NY (where all Aramex boxes are.
e) Aramex picks up and ships to the final destination only twice a week and hence the delay to get here.
f) Not sure who decided on the weight (whether it was re-weighed or not), but BestBuy had indicated a weight of 1.2lbs when they shipped it to my friend. He probably used the same figure when he shipped it to NY.
g) Aramex used the same figure when they shipped it to Kuwait.
h) Per the Aramex calculator, I was to be charged KD.5.80 for the 1.2Lbs. They charged me 6.800. According to the guy that delivered, if the weight was 1.1Lbs, the charge would only have been KD.4.25/-. That again is their calculator rate plus 1/-.
Yes, its a big relief to have it delivered at that rate ... pretty cheap I would say. The biggest relief though is that I got it
Now for figuring out what is what on my 1st android. Will get used to it and play around in the market with free stuff before I start rooting and the like.
In the meantime, I would require a good office editor and will open a separate thread requesting user opinions!
Cheers & Good luck with your phone.

WTF! This is definitely a SCAM!
Sorry you got taken.
I have always found Amazon to be extremely helpful. Anytime I call them to complain/return something, they tell me to keep it and then refund my money anyway. I have gotten a lot of free stuff over the years.
It may take you some hunting to find the phone number for Amazon customer service, but it could be well worth it. I would give it to you but I have it at work and have only called them from there.
However, the fact that the marketplace covers independent sellers means you are taking your chances in a lot of cases. I only buy from people who are enough of a partner that Amazon does the free shipping and I have never been disappointed.
Good luck!
Ouch! That sucks. I'd recommend contacting Amazon's fraud department and their customer service department and seeing about what recourse is available to you. If they're unhelpful (though I doubt they will be as I find their customer service to generally be pretty good), there's always that friendly little thing called a chargeback which tends to inspire greatness from companies to help you.
It could just be an honest mistake. If you assume that Amazon ships 100,000 items each day, and that they have an efficiency rate of 99.999 % of items correctly delivered, then at least one person is sure to receive a wrong item in the mail.
The more items you ship, the more someone is bound to get something they didn't order even with phenomenally accurate item tracking. Amazon is generally very nice about this sort of thing. If they determine that it is their mistake, and if you live outside the US, and the return cost is excessive, they generally tell you to keep the mis-shipped item and then send the correct one along free of charge in a few weeks.
That item looks like the ZT-180 I bought off Amazon some time back. And yeah it sux huevos alright.
Was there an order slip inside the box from the seller? If so & it says Viewsonic G-Tablet then I highly doubt it was a mistake.
The main problem is that it wasn't directly from amazon, it was from a third party merchant on their site. So it makes things just a little bit more complicated and time consuming. I doubt it was a honest mistake, after checking the sellers profile I saw he had like 90% negative feedback.
After calling Amazon(good idea BTW I was starting to get scared), they assured me that if the seller didn't help me out, that I would get a full refund. So I guess that's good news. I just hate to go through the hassle, and wait even longer for my tablet, I just wanna play with it already.
I hope woot! has another deal soon...

I can't believe it, so i just received my gTablet from Amazon, and this is what I received. What a SOB, I wonder how many people fall for this and don't realize that its a fake.
Any advice on how to get my money back without any hassles, because the guy is probably long gone by now.

It looks like the little Army guy had too much to drink there
Was it from bestwholesalegem? I ordered one too. Im sure it will not be an actual g tablet tho.
However i did read this today
"If the buyer has received an item that is materially different and have not received a response from you with return instructions, he or she may file a Guarantee claim for the purchase. Once a customer is reimbursed for an order via the A-to-z Guarantee, Amazon.com does not obligate that customer to return the item they received. However, you are welcome to contact your customer directly to arrange for a return of the item."
Quoted from the amazon sellers claim faq
If you can get around the whole moral issue i guess you might end up with a free chinese knock off tablet to make up for your lost time.
Or the seller will ask you to ship it back. In that case its up to you either just ignore him and keep it (which you legally can), or ask him to pay for return shipping (you can include price of gas/"handling") and ship it back. He probably wont be willing to pay the 30-40$ for shipping anyway.
Yea the seller was bestwholesalegem I see some of you were also tempted by the low price. I wonder how much much money he maid off with ...
Well I'm gonna file a claim now, and see if I get a response from the seller. I was so relived when I saw that the purchase was backed by the Amazon A-Z Guarantee.
Time to look for a new one I guess.

He was a new seller and had no feedback when he started selling. I'm a seller on Amazon as well and we all start with nothing. The price wasn't drastically better than everything else ($269.99 + shipping), and you're not taking a monetary risk buying through Amazon, only a risk of inconvenience.
i am interested to know how you claim goes
and how long it takes for it to resolve
I'm interested also as I was one of the ones that received one of those tablets. Since before I ordered from him I ask what the return policy was. He assured me I had 30 days to return the item if I was not happy with it. It came in, I opened it and immediately fired a email off to him advising him I was returning it as it was not what I ordered. He wanted to give me a credit, but I held out for the money refund. I have all the emails to back up what the conversations between us was for Amazon if I have to file a claim with them.
Good luck and hope you get your money back.
I have sold a few items on Amazon and I know thet they keep the money for a while, they don't transfer it automatically to the seller account - especially if you are new to them.
So Amazon doesn't loose nothing, you get to keep the knock-off. Just act right away, don't wait 2 weeks...

This is a good policy to go by, because these items are shipped by Amazon's warehouse team and all returns go straight to Amazon. There is no need to deal with the merchant. HOWEVER as an Amazon Merchant let me warn you that there is no special approval needed to sell like this. The program is called Fulfillment by Amazon, and any brand new merchant can sign up. Also Amazon doesn't verify that the units shipped through this program are genuine.
Just thought you should know.

This should tell you your report was nothing surprising to him.
I wouldn't bother with trying to resolve this with him, go straight to amazon and remember to leave him the appropriate feedback.

The perils of eBay..

Well I figure my first post should be a big moan on the subject of eBay.
I'm currently -£750 waiting on refunds for 2 Galaxy s4 phones that I tried to buy on eBay... the first auction had a slightly dodgy feel but I figured it was worth the risk for the potential of a good deal, turns out I should have trusted my initial gut instinct, about 10 minutes after I paid for it I got a message from eBay saying the listing had been removed as the seller was a compromised account, and that I no longer have to pay for the item. Annoyingly I still have to wait till next week before I can escalate it and get my refund.
Second one seemed a legit deal, seemed like an unwanted upgrade ( I know there is a degree of risk there too but, my last phone was one and I've had no issues), legit photos... item arrived on Monday all seemed in working order, spent all day Tuesday researching which mod to go with, re-learning the whole rooting/firmware/recovery upgrade processes, loading my apps, configuring them all etc , Micro-sim arrived Wednesday, but for whatever reason wouldn't register on the mobile network so I went to the carrier's shop.... I'm sure you all know where this is going, the phone's IMEI is on the blacklist, so I've had to spend the last few hours convincing the seller to refund me, of course I now have to send it back at my own expense and it probably won't arrive till Monday at which point I have to trust he'll refund me in a timely fashion, or I'll have to escalate again..... argh, what a head ache!
I must confess before all this I didn't know about all these possible pitfalls, I wish eBay had some more upfront guidance on risks of the phones being sold being blacklisted, I didn't even know such a list existed, ah well live and learn I guess.
For the limited time I had the phone I was loving it for it's none call related features, I'll just have to buy my next one from a legit source and hope for 3rd time lucky!
Anyhow, hi, hopefully my future posts will be more positive.
Feel sorry for you there buddy... I got mine too from a reseller, but we met upfront. Its been 10 weeks now and my s4 is still kicking. Its really a lot better if you're getting an expensive piece of hardware from a legit source...

The first one was £370, and was apparently a 32gb model, that should have been my first warning signal as I've since learned the 32gb model isn't for sale in the UK yet.
The second went for £380 and included a 32gb memory card, so I felt like I was getting a 70-80ish quid saving?
I feel for you! Ebay can be a great bargain grabbing experience but there are some sharks lurking about. Hope you get both your refunds and put it down to experience..... I love technology but wouldn't risk not having a backed warranty on an item as expensive as an S4.

Yea I've found a seller who is selling for £410 and providing a valid receipt, I think that's a safe price point to purchase at.
I bought my S4 on ebay last week for £400 incl and it was supposed to be in a sealed box, fully unlocked and an unwanted upgrade.
It was still sealed, but was locked to O2 and the seller insisted that O2 had promised him it would unlock in 3-5 days.
I said I couldn't wait, unlocked it myself & asked for a £25 refund as this was what a shop would charge to unlock it for me!! He gave it to me. :victory:

Nice one.
I got my S4 from eBay too. For £370.it was on o2 as well. Got an unlock code from a website for £15 that's permanently unlocked it.
I've been very happy. And lucky in my eBay experiences.

Up until this happened I'd had 200+ transactions without 1 issue, then 2 back to back....
My S1 was off eBay, was a bargain and has never caused me one issue.
I am however a bit wary of unwanted upgrades after learning they could be blacklisted if they end their contract prematurely, if that happens a year later I doubt there's anything you could do about it.
I was actually worried about buying a FAKE S4, i.e. something else masquerading as an S4.
Do these exist, or is it just me being paranoid?

Generally Amazon is more trustworthy than eBay, especially if it says 'fulfilled by amazon' or it's sold by official stores (AnkerOfficial and stuff like that) - you can tell if they have a very high rating and their descriptions are written fluently (you should be able to tell between the chinese/whatever sellers and official stores).
BUT, there are many fakes on Amazon too.
Feel sorry for you buddy. I got mine from a website called Kogan. It costed me 689 AU dollars including shipping fee. It is quite cheap and it arrived a week after i paid. More importantly, it is not second handed or reselling product.
i too purchased an s3 that was an unwanted phone, i had a gut feeling it was dodgy but thought ebay would protect me if it was dodgy
how wrong was i
phone never sent, money gone
all ebay could do was email them as i payed by bank deposit. even police online fraud cant force them to pay back the money and a bank tranfser reversal doesnt work if they deny it
2 months on still trying for refund while there still buying stuff
ended up buying an S4 I9505 off kogan for $620 inc 32gm micro sd and freight couldnt justify paying $460 for an S3 when the S4 was going for that price

Yea, PayPal payment protection is a must on eBay, I'd never trust a transaction without it really.
As it is I gave eBay another go as I spotted a deal that looked legit and unlikely to be a bad phone, got myself a new i19505, sealed box and with a receipt, £360. Pretty happy with that! Also got my money back from the 2 other bad deals, yay.

Reliable websites to buy Xiaomi mi4c

I created this thread because for some reason I can't post in the thread about xiaomi buyers, I can't even comment and I don't know why.
Anyways, I wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with giztop.com and if so, a few questions.
1) did you have to pay customs?
2)was the phone in perfect conditions?
3)how long did the shipping take and how long did it take to get a tracking number?
Everyone is invited to post their experiences with different websites buying the xiaomi mi4c and also by answering those 3 questions if you can.
I ordered a Mi4C from geekbuying.com. It's a "big" and reliable website/store with many customers. Also their customer service support is fast and helpful, for example they included a gift in my order. I still haven't received my item because I chose the "slow" flat-rate shipping which can take ~15 days, but I'm not in a hurry.
I received a correct tracking number almost immediately after I placed my order. I'll report back with more answers to your questions

It cost me USD 277.35. And I just noticed that it arrived in my country at 31 October, so it only took like 2 days to get here. Now the slow swedish post just have to hurry up!
I used Geekbuying too, to ship to the UK, shipping was free even though it was apparently 'expedited'. TNT was on the list as a 0 cost option and a 3-5 day shipping time. Mine was ordered on the 24th, shipped on the 26th, and in my hand on the 29th. Really hassle free. Phone was in perfect condition, and bloat seemed minimal if anything at all. Bloat is a bit of a moot point though as sMIUI went onto it straight away.
Do you guys think it'd be just as smooth to the U.S? Did you guys use EU warehouse? @Flaxe @Salieri_UK

I have no idea how it will be to the US, but I guess it will go pretty smooth. Mine was shipped from Singapore, they didn't have it in a EU warehouse when I ordered.
There is a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-4c/general/to-buy-outside-china-t3208959
I bought from ibuygou and asked them to check if there were any faults with the device, they said they will check. I got the device and it came with EU rom so no bloatware and they gave 2 free screen protectors. Got dhl tracking same day. They offer duty insurance, so if you get charged, they will refund you. Also very repsponsive with emails. I'd use them again

I haven't heard anything about it yet. Though, when reading at the swedish import "laws", there's 0% duty for importing phones, but we still have to pay 25% tax.
When I track the item on the swedish post website, it now says the item is being sorted at the terminal and I should have it delivered to me tomorrow. So then I will know for sure if I have to pay anything extra.

No because I paid for the duty insurance which is 5% of total. They still marked the item $20 but I didn't want to risk it. Yes packaged separately but I'm not sure if they give it to every customer.

PSA: Amazon is refunding Note 7 accessories that are outside the 30 day return window

I just got off a chat with support for amazon requesting a refund on the wireless charger dock and case I bought for my note 7. I bought them back a week before the phone initially launched and they were both well outside the 30 day return window but it seems like they're treating this as a special scenario and sent me return labels for those 2 items. Would have otherwise been about $90 bucks down the drain.

They just let me return my Spigen case that was delivered on Aug. 18th. Guess I'll use that to buy a new case for the replacement phone.
I wonder if Amazon Canada is doing the same.. I just emailed them and hoping for good news. Though Samsung Canada is giving customers their money back for Note 7 specific accessories, I think it would be much easier to go through Amazon instead.
How were you guys able to get a refund? Do I just go to customer service and ask for a refund or is there a "special" way?

Go to your amazon account orders and click return then state the reason like I dont need anymore if its over the time window then click chat and email them that you no longer need because your note 7 has been recalled again, that is what I did

Update: I got two emails. The first one basically was like, 'we don't know what you're talking about and to take a screenshot of this forum to see who started spreading false information, but we'll refund you anyways.' The second email, which was sent shortly, said that they were just updated that they will do Note 7 accessory refunds, and that they were sorry for the first email they sent. They've already refunded me the screen protector I bought since I can't really return it. I'll probably send out the four cases I bought this evening or tomorrow.
The rep I'm currently chatting with is giving me the whole "outside the 30 day period" run-around. Also, they're making me pay to return the items. Any thoughts?
I didn't even think about that, boy that was easy, no fighting or complaining just instant shipping labels for both my items.

I left very unpleasant feedback about the rep I dealt with and I'm trying email again. Clearly she didn't know what was going on. I'll keep pestering and being nasty until someone gives me a satisfactory response. If it was a blanket policy and no one was getting refunded, I wouldn't raise a stink. But I'm in the customer service industry and I'm a firm believer that all customers should be treated consistently. If you help one customer, everyone else deserves the same treatment.

I find it ungodly annoying to get to the chat option. I don't even know how I get there half the time. It doesn't show under the regular orders tab, you have to find another special screen asking how you want to handle an order. I just did it and i don't even think I could walk you through how to get there. If there is an easier way I'd love someone to list it.

I actually started off with the chat and she gave me the generic run-around. She tried to tell me that as a one time exception they could refund the cost of the return shipping after they got the item back. I told them where they could stick that. I'm not paying $6 to ship back a $10 case and potentially be out the $16 if something goes wrong. I know I'm being a pain, but like I said, CS should be consistent regardless of how I contact someone.

What, they want you to put it in an envelope? That's random. What good will it do them? That's my thinking on all this. Asking for the items back is useless because its not like they can re-sell them. I may just throw the lot in the trash if they keep giving me the run-around and find a different retailer for things.
I can confirm that this works. All you have to do is get on a chat with Amazon Support and explain to them that the Note 7 has been recalled and that you are stuck with the items and ask if there is anything that they can do, even though you are outside the 30day return policy. They were super nice and got me a full refund.

Finally got it too. But as noted above they ask me to return a used screen protector. For the ones I threw away, I'll just send back the empty box and go from there!
I can also CONFIRM that is true, just got of the phone talking to a Amazon rep and they allow me to return my Spigen case and a wireless charger despite being over the 30 days period. The only thing they didnt allow me to return was the Skinomi screen protector and the reason was that " it came from an outside vendor and need to contact them directly for a refund. I will contact Skinomi to see what is their position. I will post again as soon as i have an answer from them.
I want to say Thanks to who started this thread, you just save me $35 ???
I just did this.
The longest part was finding the Telephone number to call.
I just explained to them that I had the explding phone and they said they knew about it and how did I want my money returned. They did not want the Spigen case back.
Could not have been easier or quicker.
