KGL SDCards not mounted anymore... - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

Hi,
i have an Erisins KGL device and a very strange Problem...
I had to downgrade the Coreboard from PX5 2GB Android 6 to PX3 1GB Android5 beacuse my soundchip was broken.
Everything works fine but the front sd-card-slots.
When i put in a sd-card the card is tried to be mounted or instantly dismounted again. the card itself is detected by the system and if i chose format it it works. but ist is never mounted. if i force to mount the same happens. if i put the same sdcard into an usb sdcard reader the card is mounted instantly. and i can use it like always. i can live with that as a workaround but it would be a shame if i could not use the front sdcard
it seems to be mcu related because in recovery cards are also not recognized. when i put in my old px5 board the same happens now..
Tried actual malaysk and im now on Hal9k Mod(which is by the way pretty awesome.)
I Installed the HA MCU Firmware 2.61 on the device accidentally because Recovery took the file automatically in PX3 recovery. but then moved back to KGL2.47 and also tested KGL 2.56.
Problem persits.
before the installation of the wrong MCU file it worked. now it seems that i cannot fully recover the old MCU.
is there a way to hard reset the mcu?
is there anybody who had/has an equal issue? is there anybody who can help?
thanks in advance

[Q] Internal SD-card (USB-Storage) won't mount when Android boots, only ext-sd

Hello,
Internal SD-card (USB-Storage) won't automatically mount itself when Android starts. It only mounts my external SD-Card. In CWM i can access everything (internal sd, external sd, system etc.) i can format them also. when i connect my phone to the pc i can read and write to both SD-Cards. Everything seems fine, but when android boots (with my ext sd inserted), i enter my pin, and my homescreen appears. Everything is ok but only my external sd is mounted, not my internal (USB-Storage). But when i boot without the external-sd inserted it mounts my internal-sd without problems. Weird. When i insert my ext-sd (phone is running) after my int-sd got mounted, it also mounts my ext-sd. What´s the reason for this behavior? Does anybody know how to fix it? can´t be a format (rfs/ext4 or FAT like) problem i think, but maybe i am wrong.
My Phone is:
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 running
CyanogenMod 10.1 / cm-10.1-20130111-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd.zip (Stock CM-Kernel, also used semaphore jb 1.9.3)
Maybe someone has an idea how to fix this problem. I´d really appreciate any help.
Greetings,
Strainhunter
fixes, i think^^
I think i fixed the problem.
I copied all the files on my external sd (yes, the problem with the internal sd (usb-storage not mounting was the external sd )
then i formated emmc in CWM--rebooted--> and the copied the files back to the ext-sd. Till now i rebooted the device multiple times and both sd´s are mounting fine^^
Thanks to me^^

Update: Problem came back -> got fixed
Hello Again,
After recently the problem came back, i experimented a little and found out that the problem did go away when i made my nandroid backups in tar format, but came back when i made them i dup format. I think it was the big "blobs"-folder on my ext-sd that caused it.
Just wanted to update this thread, because if someone encountered this problem too, he maybe want to have a look at his Nandoid-backup-format.

[Q] [Help] Sdcard not recognized after formatting

Hello,
I own a mtk phone, a Wiko Rainbow (Wiko -- a french low cost phone brand) and I recently got a quite awfuling problem: the sdcard is no more recognized afetr having been formatted The sdcard of the phone was no more recognized on any PC for some time. So I decided to format it so this issue be fixed. Then I did.
But now, the phone doesn't recognized the sdcard at all. No way to see it in phone browser. the sdacrd doesn't appear in Settings> memory too. I tried many kind of formatting : fast formatting, or not with Windows 8.1, I also delete the FAT 32 partition on sdcard, then recreate it in FAT32... No more success...
So I tried to access trough adb but no success...I get a strange error I've never seen when trying to cd to usual mouting point of sdcard (/mnt/sdcard1/) The error: Transport endpoint is not connected. Any idea so I recover my sdcard please ? that's really boring !
Thanks in advance
The phone has a stock recovery, is running android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is rooted.
[Edit] tested with an other Wiko Rainbow (which had some sdcard problem too) and same issue !! Exactly the same ! sdcard no more recognized with "Transport endpoint is not connected." issue trough adb ! I precise I used an other sdcard, but same brand that the first
So, to resume we have 2 phones Wiko Rainbow, 2 Samsung class 10 SDHC card, and exactly the same issue for the 2 devices ! Problem can't be software, because it's been updated some days ago for the both smartphones, and the problem didn't solve.
So I tend to think the samsung sdcard may be defective, due to too many R/W perhaps ? I have no idea.... Can somenone enlight me ?
Thanks in advance
Up please!
Problem not solved yet ! :crying:
Please help !
try using Mini Partition Tool. Format your sdcard from there.
Yes, it's what I did straight away, but doesn't work.... After formatting, sdcard is also rejected like if I had never formatted it and like if it was damaged....
i think your sdcard is corrupted. You need to buy a new one. (last option in my opinion)
Yes, it's what I envisaged at first. But how is it possible that a second SD card got the same problem?! Maybe it's the phone which corrupted the SD card?

new device detects but can not access SD Card, any idea why?

Hello,
Its a new rooted device with android 5.1 and the SD Card slot looks good and seems intact. It realizes that i have put a SD Card into it. System Message prepare Card pops up, but nothing happens afterwards. Card is not showing up in any file explorer. I have tested the Card with a different device and it works just fine.
My guess, it is some hardware driver or software issue, since it works just fine with different device.
factory reset did not help and i can not flash any rom or firmware!
How do i fix this?
Format in your device

Corrupt Sd Card

I'm having trouble with my sd card becoming corrupted, 2 or 3 times a day , I'm
only using to play music , I've no idea whats causing it (does it only happen to me)
the only way round it afaik , is to unmount sd card everytime I'm shutting down but that seems a bit extreme
Have you tried with another card?

32gb transcend and 16gb sandisk , same thing,
I cant format it in the system either , It says corrupt sd card and asks me to format , so I format it ,choose to use it as portable storage, when it finishes it starts checking for errors and always comes back as corrupt again , I have to format it in laptop and even then sometimes I have to do it 2 or 3 times
before unit recognises it as not being corrupt
Out of curiosity, what unit do you have (manufacturer)
Its a Erisin , model number A-MEDIA AUTO (1024x600 W)
No it is not. Erisin is the seller. Check what is after MTCD in the about screen. Kgl? Ksp? Etc. This is the manufacturer. I bet you it is a KGL
Yes its KGL v2.54_4 , and ES6700F but cant find that anywhere on unit
Kgl units are garbage. I returned mine with similar symptoms it killed an SD-card. Then it refused to recognize any other SD card.
To late for me now, I've put a custom rom on it,
it actually works ok except for the sd card issue , guess I'll just have to get used to
unmounting sd card before switching off

What does installing a custom rom have to do with your warranty.. just return it and ask for your money back
Strange problem, then... I have a KGL PX5 unit too and - so far... - the SD card is working good.
I'm using the 8 Gb card that came with HU (with GPS maps on it), so I suppose it's not even the best quality one... and never formatted it.
I am having the same issue with my Xtrons PA7739BP..It's a MTCD_GS
Already tried 2 different SD cards. And both give me the same result. Need to format, but after that still not able to use it.
First SD is unknown brand, second one 32gb Sandisk

Android's external SD not showing up in Windows

Hello,
I recently came across an issue, I couldn't solve by myself. Maybe someone out here knows a solution.
I have a Samsung S7 (European version, Stock ROM 8.0.0, rooted with TWRP and SU). The phone works fine with its external SD card, that I partionated to two partions (first: fat32/primary, second ext4/primary) for using Apps2SD options to link apps to the second partition.
Now, when I connect my phone to my computer (Windows 7) via USB, the internal storag shows up in Windows, the external SD won't (see pic #1).
If I put this very card into my old S4 (European version, Stock ROM 5.x, rooted), it shows up in Windows just fine (see pic#2).
Does anyone know how to make the S7 to show up the external SD card when connected to Windows?
Cheers,
doclouis

Thanks for your answer. Yet I am wondering, how an adapter should fit into the device's SD slot
