I recently switched from an HTC M8 to a OnePlus 5 running 7.1.1. I really miss the functionality of the HTC Mail app, and have been unable to find one that has all of the features I need. I have installed the Nougat version of HTC Mail, and it works for IMAP accounts, but it crashes when I try to add an exchange account.
I am hoping someone could help me out and provide a link to, or at least a list of, the other necessary apks to get exchange working in HTC Mail. On my Marshmallow powered HTC, there was an app called Exchange ActiveSync, which I imagine has something to do with it, but I don't know what all would be required.

Yes, I like HTC Mail as well. This may work for you...
Downloaded HTC Mail apk version 10.xxx from here for my PixelXL, and it runs perfectly. Needs no other dependent apps.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-c...e/htc-mail-10-00-814476-android-apk-download/
I just tried that one. It does work for my IMAP accounts, but will not let me add an Exchange account. Do you have an Exchange account working?
Way happens if you add an exchange account in phone settings/accounts and sync/?

In accounts you have to pick an app first. When I pick HTC Mail, it only offers POP, APOP, and IMAP under Manual Setup.

a few of my thoughts & questions about android/htc magic
i dont really know how much you can mess around with the code, but what i think would be really great is gmail with exchange support. well, all my exchange mails would land in the gmail client but with the exchange label, and the same for contacts and calendar. does anyone know if this is possible? or is google planning some native exchange support for 2.0 maybe?
and i wonder have anyone been able to 'extract' the htc activesync function from the htc builds and used it for the ion or vanilla builds?
right now im running the stock htc build on a nordic version of the htc magic, whats the real difference between the htc/ion/vanilla build of android?
not sure why you need Exchange Support when you have Google Services running with Mails, Contacts & Calendars sync up in Android. for me can forget about the support and enjoy the Natively Run Google services.
I too really want a working exchange solution, Nitrodesk works but is more server intensive than the iphone say.
I keep my fingers crossed something happens soon

And it doesnt support user names with a space in them, massive oversight really.
My work email comes into my phone through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Most of it works fine - my calendar and contacts are synched, and I get my mail fine. But, I cannot send, forward, or reply to any of my work emails. My coworkers are starting to think I don't like them
From reading other forums, this has been a continuing problem with MT4G. I really don't want to have to buy touchdown just so I can do my job. What I really want is for my phone to work the way it should. The most recent post I've seen online is a quote from HTC stating that "their Android devices do not support Exchange 2010". Is this true?
I found a posting on TMobile that gives instructions for adding an Exchange e-mail account using manual setup. Will this solve the problem?
I'd rather not delete this email account and then re-install it manually if it isn't going to help the problem. Help?
hello,
Is there a solution for my exchange mail not syncing properly? The problem is that new email syncs fine, but when I change a mail in Outlook on the laptop, the change in most cases does not sync to the phone.
Some info:
Android version :2.3.5
Kernel version : 2.10.161.3
Can anyone help me? What do I need to do? Flash a custom ROM?

Are you using Exchange mail? Outlook is delaying changes, I've noticed it too. Eventually they go through, on the next change. I'm blaming Outlook, because sometimes forced update still doesn't bring the changes, but if you do something else in Outlook and/or force-update it - it propagates to the phone.
Hi Jack,
Sorry, but I believe it is.something else.... When I use another client on my Desire (like thunderbird) the changes sync properly. However I would like to keep the stock email app. Problem seems primarily in the inbox. When I move a mail from inbox to another folder, it is present in both inbox and the other folder on my Desire S.

Don't have any issue here with default mail app. Did you guys set it up as Exchange mail or something else. I'm using Hotmail exchange server setting.

I don't know what that is. That's probably your problem. When I was using Samsung Galaxy S1/S2 phones, the default Hotmail setting always uses POP mail settings.
So, I always manualy setup my Hotmail using Exchange server settings:
UserName: your hotmail email address
Password: your account password
Server: m.hotmail.com
The default hotmail setup in accounts is newer, uses the correct exchange account settings. The problem is the sync itself, not sure where the problem lies, bit its annoying. You can manually create the exchange account and its still messed up.

I'm using the stock ics mail app and it works way better my Hotmail and Gmail accounts. Sync is almost immediate.
same problem here,
any solutions yet?
Hotmail Sync
I am having the same issues. It seems to be the stock HTC email app. I have no problems with Enhanced Email or the stock Android email app. I wish there was a fix for this as I like to use the Productivity lockscreen which only works with stock HTC email client.
It (HTC Stock email) works fine for my other exchange accounts and has no problem with push.

I've got the same problem, too since i've done a hard-reset of my device.
The integrated Facebookclient got the same problem like the hotmailaccount. Syncing failed!!!
Is there any solution for the problem? I also rooted my device now and installed a custom rom but the problem is still there and very annoying beause there are no more contacts on my device.
i get the same thing if i use the hotmail setup under accounts. i just used the generic email setup instead and it works fine for email. i don't think you get the calender sink that way but i don't use hotmail for my calender.
i have 2 hotmail accounts one from 00' and pne from 11' the second the newer working perfect the old one radomly working but never can send email from it
Mine is not just limited to hotmail...sync is experiencing problems...with facebook, skype n yeah obviously hotmail...anyone knows a workaround for this?

So I download the hotmail app for now
Same issue here. Running Clean Rom 4.1 SE.
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly."
That is all she wrote.
Seems to be fixed on the newer 2.33 Asian region leak from today. Hotmail is working again for me.

Ive been having issues for a very long time with Gmail and unfortunately any new update does not fix this. I use Gmail for multiple accounts and when i delete or try to move things into folders they keep appearing and i have to do it several times or log into a computer to get it to work.
I've tried several email apps, I need an app that will sync my outlook calendar to google calendar app and will work with exchange and other email platforms. I used to use aquamail, but it was bought by a cheetah mobile type of company. I hate Gmail, but it is the only app I have found that can do what I described above, have everything streamlined. Just the deleting and moving of emails is not reliable.
Any suggestions ?
Try Nine Mail
Second that for Nine Mail... I used it for my outlook client until my company started using VMware Boxer. Miss Nine mail a lot.

I use Newton (Old name Cloud Magic) its pretty pricy but i love how it is compatible with literally all OS's, Android, iOS, Windows 10 and OSX.
I have used "TypeApp" for years....love it. Would use default gmail if...but i hate white theme. Gotta use app that has dark theme.
Tried nine, works good for microsoft, but does not run other email clients.
Will try others....ugh......stuck with Gmail. I don't know of an easy to get ahold of google to submit feedback for them to fix.
I've tried a few others which everything works well, but does not sync my microsoft outlook calendar to google calendar. I need the calendar though.
Why is Aquamail a problem for you?

Aquamail does not work for my exchange anymore. They changed something since I last used it, I'm not sure how they verify microsoft outlook, but i cannot register my outlook emails anymore. It used to work perfectly in Dec 2016 with my calendar but not anymore.
Just reluctantly using gmail right now.

My company email is based on gmail (business gmail) It works great with Nine. Nine cannot sync with general email because Google made some policy change back in 2013.

Doesn't Exchange support require a Pro key?

Specifically, they removed ActiveSync support from general accounts. It's still available for G Suite accounts though.

Not sure but I have the pro key. Maybe this weekend I'll try it one more time. Everything works except outlook. It has a lot of features as well.
It got bought by mobisystems awhile back. Make me wonder what changes they made. Are they shady like Cheetah mobile?
Try k9 mail. Open source and free.
