Hello,
I am trying to root my G2 phone and am trying to setup the ADB part of it.
I am trying to setup ADB using this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865685
INSTALLING ADB ON WINDOWS - METHOD B, THE "QUICK" WAY, NO SDK
However, the link for the file appears to be gone for step two. Curious as to where I could find it.

The links worked for me. I don't know why they don't for you.
Did you try this link below...
Step 2
Download this zip archive and unzip it somewhere memorable on your PC (e.g. into a folder on your desktop) - http://dl.google.com/android/reposit...01-windows.zip
It gives a 404 error. Where else can I find that download file?

Try to open it with WInRar or IsoBuster if it doesn't help, Try demon tools
I found a program, Irfanview that can open very much files and also img.
But are there programs that can open img image?
I think the only way is to open by Wave_Remaker (Bada firmwares)

Use WinRAR (Easy) or Alcohol 120% (Preferred) Alcohol will mount the ISO as virtual disk so it won't say that ISO is corrupted
open .img

WE need more information. Where does it fail? Error message? Does your tab show up in device manager?
sorry mate i didnt know what would be helpful and what wouldnt, but it shows up in my device manager but i dont think ive set up adb and fastboot up properly, when i type C:\Users\Rob>fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot in the cmd window it says fast boot is not recognized as an internal or external command,
what files do i need need to have and where should they go,
ive got a folder called adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20130219 with the sdk stuff in it but im not sure what to do with it lol
Quick, easy way is to use the cd command to move to the directory where fast boot is saved. Then use the command you tried first.
ahh yeah i think i remember doing that before what folder am i looking for?
edit: i got it going now i found the folder i need so im all good now thanks guys
You'll need to look through the sdk files until you find the fastboot file. That's the folder you need. I don't have my laptop with me so I can't give you the specific folder name.
it was called platform tools i just found it and i moved it to the root of c drive and renamed it android and all is great now

So, who else is having this problem? Loads of weird files are being generated in the Download folder.
Even after I delete them they reappear. Somebody knows why this is happening and how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Make sure your browser has storage permission allowed as that is needed to write the download to storage or you will get a failed download.
Very late reply but go to chrome>settings>downloads>
Uncheckd/ untick "download articles over WiFi"
Off course after doing this articles on chrome will not be available offline
I am having this problem as well. Its only happening when i updated to android 10. And i have reset phone and not given chrome storage permission and still it is able to create those files in my storage?. Anyone know what's happening?

Create new folder, place and extract the downloaded files in the same folder then open the extracted msm tool. Make sure you installed all drivers needed.

Don't know what MSM tool you need there are several here. Just download again the tool you need then put the file in a folder and extract the file in the same folder. You should be able to open it.
My msm tool won't open. No matter how may times I click to open it just won't open. If I click a lot it says running even though its not open. Anyone know what I can do to get this running?

Also had this problem, had to restart the pc every time.
Also having the same problem. Installed and updated all drivers. Still will not even open, just throws the packed image not exist error and closes. Running as administrator, extracted and copied files to desktop, everything done as instructed.

That's because you are transferring downloaded zip via flash drive to another computer: it will never work. The file must be downloaded and unzipped on the same PC it was downloaded.
