cant login to root with magisk - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

hello , I was able to obtain root on my BLN-L24. thats awesome i have 7.0 and emui 5.0 but i cant login to root with my terminal it keeps closing my terminal app every time i try. is there any way to replace magisk with another superuser? if so how?
Thanks so much for your help and your time

Hi, yes you can. Go here https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/development/twrp-t3583413 and in OP you'll find in Rooting Methods other 2 packages; SuperSU and Custom SuperSU. Personally i didn't tried them, but they works. Oh, instructions for flashing are there too. Before doing everything, flash the Magisk Uninstaller that you can find in developer's thread in OP attachments, here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445

[Q] Help. not sure what I am doing wrong.

So I have the wife's new d850, which we will be suing over straight talk.
- not able to get the OTA updates
- at KK and she wants to be on LP
So far, I've done:
- rooted with towelroot
- loaded TWRP from the playstore
- loaded Superuser from the playstore
- loaded Busybox from the playstore
- loaded Flashify from the playstore
I have tried to flash these 2 roms will no luck.
[ROM][Stock][Rooted] D850 20f Stock ROM Debloated

http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/development/rom-lg-d850-20f-lollipop-5-0-1-extras-t3052041
So using Flashify or TWRP I have been unable to see the ROMs to flash and I have been getting the unable to mount external sd card.
I've gone through the forum several times trying to figure out what I am doing incorrectly and I haven't been able to figure it out.
All I wanted to do was debloat the phone and get it on LP.
thanks for any assistance.
Are you on 10d? Are you sure that root was successful? Does SU install properly? If so then are you able to grant Flashify SU permission? If so then you want TWRP from this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-3-0-t2981108, by 777Jon. Follow his instructions for flashing TWRP through Flashify.
If root was not successful try Stumproot also here on XDA.
Are you on 10d? Yes
Are you sure that root was successful? It says I am rooted, so I assume yes.
Does SU install properly? Yes

That TWRP did it. The flash worked and its on LP. The only thing is that the debloat didn't seem to work and I still have the carrier apps, which is easy to correct.
Thanks for the help. It's much appreciated.
Glad to help. Titanium backup will get rid of most of those carrier apps. Some you can simply freeze... Good luck.

Help with blu dash x plus xp d950u

I can't find any topics at all about this phone, either because it's new or that no one uses it. Any way, I rooted it with KingRoot, that works fine. I have SuperUser as the root allow / deny program. Now the next step I would like to do is flash TWRP and then Xposed. I would also like to use SuperSu, but without a custom recovery, I am unable to update the binaries. I was told I could use FlashFire to install TWRP and Xposed, but the issue there is that it only uses SuperSu. and without a custom recovery, again I am unable to use SuperSU. Any suggestions or help or work arounds would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I guess the bottom line of what I'd like to do it to be able to install SuperSu and update the binaries so I can use FlashFire.

Transition from SuperSU to Magisk

So I'm currently using Honor 8 FRD-L09432 on B394 build. I have unlocked bootloader and am rooted with SuperSU. I wish to remove SuperSU root and switch to Magisk. From Magisk thread instructions I'm supposed have unrooted device and intact boot image.
When I try to unroot with SuperSU I'm greeted with "Uninstallation failed!" window. As an alternative to unroot I decided to just use Huawei Firmware Finder and download latest(B394) update.zip and extract stock boot.img from that. After successfully managing the extraction I tried to flash the newly extracted boot.img via TWRP. My device fails to boot with said boot.img so I had to restore the back up.
So my question is what am I missing here? Or is there some other alternate way to switch to Magisk without rollbacking to stock packages and having all my data wiped. Thanks for your assistance.
Osmosis' unsupersu script should work to remove it, then reboot, then flash magisk.
Hi,
I have the FRD-L04 with the B389 update. I am currently root with SuperSU, and I would like to change to Magisk. I have been reading some guides and posts but I want to be sure before proceeding. I found this guide for the Pixel and I would like to know the opinion from the experts if this would work for my honor 8. Thanks!

You will need stock boot image, that's pretty much all. So you can try to restore the stock boot image via unroot from SuperSU which is a bad idea and I would highly discourage it. So you either extract the stock boot image for B389 from UPDATE.zip or you restore stock boot image from your own backup if you have it.
After obtaining and flashing stock boot image, flash the Magisk zip from main Magisk thread. I can not verify that latest version works (16.0), I havent tried it. I'm personally on 15.3 and if you really want it I can test 16.0 for you.
After flashing Magisk install Magisk manager which you can obtain again from main Magisk thread. Ofc unistall SuperSU app as well.
You can't brick your device in any way as long as you make a full TWRP backup before attempting any of the above. If you run into any of the errors just restore it and ask for further instructions.
Thanks for the set of instructions, I did as instructed and it worked as a charm! Thanks for everything. I'm in B389 with Magisk now!

New working root for x650- x651

You must place the file in the phone root and click in update.zip with the file explorer and update.

Have you tried it?.
Didn't work.
what does it mean new root? Is it some kind of new kernel?
it's kingroot and purify, isnt full root, but you can freeze the chinese apps, don't modify any system or boot files, the problem that it's in chinese, if you don't need it, don't install it.
Can I actually use this to hide other apps from root? For example, Magisk or Xposed Mod.
you have magisk intalled?
Magisk have magiskhide to hide the app from root, use magisk manager

There aren't any working twrp for this model yet, don't install it!!!
The others threads are olds and no working root in any image or rom any admin should delete these threads to avoid confusions.

Hi
Try to lock bootloaders to get back IMEI. You ca also write fastboot command "fastboot reboot" and it will relock bootloaders. Dial *#06# and there you are.

Yes, but it is not permanent....
Just install magisk app and parch the original boot..then from fastboot mode boot with the patched boot img!
Good morning, in the 4pda Russian forum a user has supposedly managed to rotate our phone, says it is permanent.
I am not registered and I cannot get the files, if someone is registered they can download and post them in the forum to be able to test.
I leave the link message 4338

Oxygen Updater, and Root Packages

Hello! I've been searching around the internet for a little bit of information, but couldn't find anything that really explains my question.
I am using Oxygen Updater for the OnePlus 6. When there is a new update, it says that I can install it, and keep root, by using a "root package".
Are they just asking for something like the TWRP.img/.zip, or something for Magisk? How would I create or obtain a root package?
I have the same question in my mind
I'm very interested to have oem root package as well.
Google and Oneplus should include root rights as an option and do to force people to use third party software.
Root package means magisk.zip I think
If u have an unlock bootloader, u will only get full zips, at which point its easier to flash OS through twrp, flash twrp installer, reboot to twrp and flash magisk, so much easier and u keep twrp and root
Do not wipe anything, some do caches, I didn't
