Does such a thing exist? I would like to have wireless headphones and watch shows but normally there is always a lag that bothers me too much to even attempt it. Has bluetooth 5 or even 4.2 fixed this?

Don't use wireless headphones but, boeffla kernel allows direct DAC output, which may allow some improvement.
Else you can pay for MX player pro and adjust audio sync with any downloaded or streamed video mx can link to.
App based streaming, such as ITV player is limited to hardware. Bluetooth will have delay, because audio has to be converted to bluetooth transport with then must be converted back to audio. Plus the transport is slow in comparison to the faster DAC.

I wanted to see what you recommend I can use to Stream Music wirelessly from my Xoom Tablet to my Home Stereo. Looking to use my xoom music player and something that will not degrade sound quality. Bluetooth sounds like the best option i think. Any ideas?

I believe that the standard charging dock has audio out...I haven't hooked it up to external speakers but I believe that StrifeSoldierIIV said he does that and it works well.

I use LG BT headset...I guess that BT speakers would be great.
I have used the standard dock for a wired connection and bluetooth to both a Motorola S9 headset and a Parrot Party BT Speaker. The Xoom has performed pretty good all around. The range of BT I have gotten with my Parrot Party is impressive (30'-40' through multiple floors). I do not have any experience with a stand-alone BT receiver to connect to a home stereo, but a google search came up with several options.
Whatever you get please report back with your experience.

HuckFinn and okantomi. Thank you for your help. What do you think about these two products?
1. Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter for Bluetooth Audio Devices $40. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wire...UTF8&coliid=ILO9AKPF7AF0R&colid=1YCH0XH8HNDCR
2. Belkin F8Z492-P Bluetooth Music Receiver $32 http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8Z492-P-Bluetooth-Music-Receiver/dp/B0047T79VS/ref=pd_cp_e_2
If you have some sort of DLNA player, I would use that. An app like UPnPlay works quite well. I still use my 6 year old Roku soundbridge for its mp3 decoding capabilities, range is then limited by wifi range rather than bluetooth. I can sit on the deck and play my mp3 collection off a nas, through the soundbridge and HT amp and over my outdoor speakers all controlled through the xoom. Or just fire the music off the local device to the soundbridge.

Either one should work but the Logitech looks more suited for a home stereo.

Does anyone know if apt-x audio is part of the Touchwiz rom or built into the phone itself? I'm using the HTC bluetooth dongle in my car for audio streaming and love it, sounds absolutely awesome. But, I do want to flash CM10 or another jellybean rom. Will apt-x audio still work with other roms or is that just an audio codec that Samsung licensed so it will only work with stock Touchwiz?
If working with only Touchwiz is the case, will Jellywiz have apt-x?

Apt-x is a proprietary codec supplied by CSR, incorporated on the CSR BT chipset integrated on the phone. What is unclear is whether the modifications to the ROM and/or radio FW would disable or otherwise disable/impact the application of the codec when streaming music from the phone via BT.
I have repeatedly asked this question and have yet to get an answer. I think this is a somewhat critical issue given the increasing popularity of the Apt-x codec and the use of the handset as a source for streaming musical content.

It would be great to get a definite answer. I wonder if there's a way to tell if it's running (besides comparing audio quality by ear). For example an app that shows the status of apt-x while audio is streaming. I didn't know it was on the bluetooth chip itself. Maybe it's always on? If it's not enabled on other roms it would be nice to find a way to turn it on, like a zip file that can be flashed to enable it. I wish I new something about programming or fiddling with what makes android tick.
And yes I agree phones aren't just for making calls anymore, it's for all forms of high quality entertainment. It makes no sense to stream low quality music when you have a top of the line phone with high quality speakers to match.
Re:Apt-x
One other thing I should note. To realize the improved sound quality, the device you are streaming to, must also utilize the CSR BT chip w/Apt-x support. Otherwise, your device will likely render using AAC or something more mundane.
The HTC Car Stereoclip utilizes apt-x for streaming. I have a semi-permanent hookup in my car. The clip in tucked away behind a compartment in my center console with the AUX cable and power cable hooked up to it at all times. The clip turns on when I start my car and I have an NFC sticker that starts up Car Home, bluetooth and Spotify. Sounds just like it's hooked up to an AUX cable. It's worth investing in if you use a car a lot and want good sounding wireless tunes.
I am using CROMI-X 5.4 on a TF700. It's connected via HDMI to a Denon receiver, and is used to play music, videos, etc.
Whenever I first play videos via MX Player (or music via Shuttle), the receiver says that it's receiving a stereo signal. That's good. The receiver interprets the stereo signal as Dolby PLII and it comes out all 5 speakers and subwoofer.
However, after I play a few videos or songs the receiver suddenly starts receiving a multi-channel audio signal. That's bad. The receiver doesn't mix a multi-channel audio signal, and the source audio is really only two channels, and so only two of my speakers end up being used.
I've confirmed that my media is all two channels, nothing more. Is there any way to force the TF700 to ONLY output stereo audio via HDMI? I've tried editing audio_policy.conf and commenting out the lines regarding the multi-channel capabilities of the device, but it didn't seem to have any impact.
Thanks.
I've confirmed that I get the same behaviour with Google Play Music, My Play Home (a game), and the default Video Player. So it's not an app-related problem.
It *may* be a problem with the receiver, but I believe it worked fine until I installed a more recent version of CROMI. I can only assume it's something to do with the newer CROMI build, or perhaps _that's kernel? In any case, I'd be happy to limit the device to stereo output in ALL cases if at all possible.
Does anyone else experience bluetooth audio lag or delay? When my n5 is paired to my car (2010 Mazda 3), my music doesn't play through my speakers until about 3 seconds later. Audio for movies and videos and games are the same way, so they're out of sync. If I run the Audio Router app (forces audio to be played thru mono "headset mode" [not sure if that's what that's called]) then the lag/delay disappears and everything is fine, except that the audio is now playing at the lower headset bitrate and is mono.
So far, my car is the only thing I have to pair my phone with so I don't know if it's the car or the phone. But, I've only experienced this problem on 4.4 roms. 4.2 was fine, no audio lag at all. Every single 4.4 rom I've used has this problem (cm, aokp, pa, slim, pac, and stock).
The only patch I can think of for movies is to find a player that can allow me to offset the audio (like VLC on Windows does), but I haven't found one that supports that.
Any ideas?

It is an issue with the link to your car. I get the same thing between all my Android devices and one particular Bluetooth device, my context is different using Chromecast to see on TV the picture but hear on bluetooth off my handset the audio, I've tried N4, N7 2012, N7 2013, N10. The only fix in my context is HDMI off the N10 (so in N5 it would be Slimport) and bluetooth off the handset.
For your car, does it have a Tape casette player old tech? They used to have an audio-male to casette adaptors, or an audio socket at all, then just male-male cable to the N5?
I was having problems with terrible audio quality on headphones using the included USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. After reading up I bought a new dongle (Apple) that includes the DAC in the dongle instead of using the analog audio out through the USB port. That did fix my audio quality issue, but introduced a new one. Now there is occasional stuttering/crackling in my music, not major, but usually noticeable at least once or twice in most songs. It happens with the built in music player app, Spotify, and a couple other music players I downloaded to test, and it seems to be more frequent when the screen is off or other apps are running, and switching apps or turning the screen off causes a stutter most of the time.
Has anyone else run into similar issues? I'm thinking this is a problem with the music player not getting priority on the CPU since it seems loosely tied with other app usage, but could this just be a faulty dongle?
