I was wondering if someone might be able to help me please, I'm trying to install Malaysk V5 ROM and currently I've installed the image:
"PX5 6.0 UPDATE HA (20170818)https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/wmsqx8"
and now when I go into update the image from system update I immediately get "Unfortunately, system update has stopped" I've tried various things to try and fix that but nothing has worked. I've tried to install from recovery but am getting:
E:Invalid image
Can not find firmware image or invalid image
Update rkimage complete.
Installation rkimage aborted.
It is labelled update.img and is in the root of the SD card in the GPS slot as it should be..
Please help!
Try from USB. Mine never worked from SD card.

Yes, tried that already, same effect.
Ok, got it working now! I had to use USB and had to be booted up (wouldn't work with recovery, or 'system update').
edit UPDATE: actually no it got as far as erasing then it reboots and can't find the image again so still not working! This is so frustrating..
Good to hear. Enjoy.
Ok, managed to get it working, Malaysk V5 just wouldn't install, even tried downloading it from 2 different locations. Tried different ROMs, tried different SDcards, different slots, USB - nothing. Tried V4 and it works!

Hello.
Sorry I'm new to modifying my Android phone but a friend of mine who has flashed his phone wasn't able to help so I hope you can give me some advices.
First of all, I have to mention that i have bought the HTC Desire at ebay, so I don't know what the former owner has done with the phone.
At the start i made a factory reset.
Then I rooted the phone with unrevoked.
After that I have copied the RCMixS_v1.8_A2SD+_BravoHboot ROM on my sdcard.
When I know start into Recovery Mode I first wipe data and cache partition.
There he tells that he completed the tasks but Can't mount CACHE:recovery/log and Can't find MISC: (I don't know if this is a real error or not)
Next I install the zip from sdcard. Everything seems fine but at the end following messages appear:
Running A2SD+ Setup
Running ROM configuration scripts ...
Preparing ROM sdcard directory ...
Writing boot.img ...
assert failed: write_raw_image/"/tmp/boot.img","boot")
E:Error in /sdcard/RCMixS_v1.8_A2SD+_BravoHboot.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
First I thought that I've bricked the phone but everythink works fine, as if I haven't done anything...
I tried this also with some other ROMs but nothing really worked.
Informations about the system:
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7
HBOOT-0.93.0001
Android 2.2
Build-Number 2.33.163.1 CL277878 release-keys
Software-Number 2.33.163.1
Thanx for your upcoming help.
-Best regards
Have you checked the sdcard? Seems to me from the error message you posted that your phone has problems reading and/or writing to it. Try another "known good" card if possible.
This issue has been common on the Mytouch 4g and G2. I'm pretty sure the Desire HD and Mt4G have very similar hardware so it wouldn't surprise me if it has similar issues. try using the ****IMG.zip file related to your device. I dont know what the DHD is, like the MT4g it's PD15IMG.zip that reverts all to stock through Hboot. if you get Fail-PU errors in hboot you might be screwed.
I will try that out. I hope that will work.
Hello, it's me again.
I tried it out with another SD card with the same effect -> error while boot.img
Now i tried it with a goldcard and tried it out with PB99IMG.zip
nearly everything worked fine, dispite of radio_V2 -> Fail-PU
everything els was ok.
at the end there stood
partition update fail!
update fail
now when i start my phone, after the htc logo i can only see a black screen with a phone and a red exclamation mark.
I see the same, if i try to boot into the recovery.
I still can boot into hboot and fastboot
so now i went into fastboot and startet RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe on my PC.
seems that it worked. now i can flash a new ROM. Thanks for your help.
Sorry it's me again....
I just dont wanna work... Now I have another Android version on my phone but still the same error.
Also when I try to backup
There's the error:
Backing up boot...
Error while dumping boot image!
It really seems that I just can't write boot images on the sd card. I've tried it out with another one. Maybe next week I can test it on a SD card of a friend of mine, who already flashed his phone with his card.
Current Versions:
ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7 (same as before)
Software Number: 2.29.405.5 (downgrade worked)
it's me once more
i didn't had much time latly but i tried it out once again with another sd card. A friend of mine flashed his phone with it, but in my case, it didnt work.
Its again the error, when the system tries to write the boot.img on the sd card.
Any other ideas?
-with best regards
Yes. Flash AmonRA 2.0.0 or 2.0.1 recovery and try flashing rom again.
Hello all,
My little brother has bought this phone a few months ago and he is having the error above. I am able to see the sd card via recovery but once the os has loaded the sd card cannot be mounted. I've tried with three different SD cards already, same issue. I've even tried to format it on the phone to no prevail. I was going to try another rom to see if that fixes the problem but since the os cannot mount the sd card I cannot put the files on the phone. When I try to mount via PC it doesn't recognize it at all. PLEASE HELP!

If you can see the SD card mounted in recovery then you should be able to flash the ROM. Can you not see your files in recovery? Is the phone rooted?
The phone is rooted but I cannot get to cwm. I always get to stock recovery "Android system recovery <3e>" and when I try to flash it gives me the signature verification error.

First sounds like you do not have cwm. See my links in my signature for the iset page, there are odin and one click methods listed and while your add it just to help you better understand read my other link, i understand your doing this for your brother...
I've installed a Gingerbread rom from Jscott30 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613523 that came with CWM and I installed a CWM alone via Odin. The rom said it came with everything I needed but I can't boot into the CWM.
I actually had the same problem with the SD card.I was also using the same Gingerbread Rom .I tried installing CWM separately still i was getting the signature verification error. So i went ahead and installed the rooted stock version which was available from the below thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1092021
Now i am using the REMICS rom and the SD card problem has been fixed.
Hello,
I am trying to install custom rom and I cannot get anything to flash. I have had the phone rooted and romed before was trying to change roms so i wipped everything and cleared all caches and tried to flash and it came across an error. Tried to fix errors and ended up soft bricking it, fixed the soft brick but now I am back to step 1.
The error i am getting is:
Opening .zip file
Cannot open .zip
aborting
I was using CWM, thought that was the problem so I switched to twmp and still get the same thing. It will not install any zips. I have downloaded tons of different roms and none of them work, also i cannot install the bootloader unlocker or su now because it will not open the zip. I have tried it on external sd card and internal neither work. Any help appreciated.
I figured it out. My external sd card was somehow causing the problem. I removed all important files and formatted it from twrp and restarted and was able to flash again. Dunno how that caused the problem but that was my fix to this solution for anyone else that comes across this problem in the future. Really was a frustrating two days.

So I wanted to root my FRD-L09, but had a problem with flashing twrp. after a long time working on this issue I managed to get the recovery. happy that it worked, I installed another rom. Afterwards I tried it, but there were a lot of chinese apps installed and I were unable to install gapps, also the fingerprint sensor didn't work so I decided to go back to stock rom.
But I can't install it, I don't know how. I tried like every method, but I think the main problem is that everytime I try to wipe in twrp it says unable to mount data. So I tried changing system file which didn't change any of my problems. Trying to install the extracted update.app via fastboot also doesnt work, errors are with "cust": "FAILED (remote: partition error)" and with system: FAILED (remote: sparse flash write failure)
Also to mention is when I try to wipe dalvik/cache/system in twrp and then reboot, it says "no os installed", and I am only able to boot into fastboot or recovery, which is okay but I can only install the custom rom I installed in the first place, then can restart the phone and nothing changed at all like not even the app caches.
And also, whenever I try to uninstall apps the phone just restarts.
Another thing I tried is to install supersu again but doesnt work in the app, and in twrp it just reboots the phone like always.
I would be sooo happy if someone could help me, I don't know what to try next.
Have you tried to install the specific dload file for your region using the 3buttons combination?

wow I already tried something similar but this just worked, I am so glad! Thanks a lot!!
A while ago I had a ROM running but switched back to OOS due to battery drain. Time passed and I wanted to give it another go and tried installing another ROM, after getting the recommended variant of TWRP running I tried doing the usual, wiping then installing, but as soon as I tried flashing the ROM it kept giving me this log:
Code:
Flashing A/B zip to inactive slot: A
Step 1/2
Error applying update: 26 (ErrorCode :: kDownloadMetadataSignatureMismatch)
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
To flash additional zips, please reboot recovery to switch to the updated slot.
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/<insert filename>.zip'
etc
I thought maybe it was because the ROM had failed to download properly, so I tried a different ROM and downloaded the other one again, but it still gave me the same error. I tried several things like formatting the storage because I saw a youtube video doing that, but although my phone boots normally if I try to download anything it fails. Not sure why this is happening. I still can't flash any ROM.
If partitions have been corrupt
I think you have hetter to flash latest "oos fastboot"
then restart from a "kind new" phone
anyway,
tipically with .zip file, also a .md5 or .md5sum file Is published
if you start checking It, you will not run in this kind of problems
