Hello everyone,
Since a few days, I am the proud owner of a Galaxy S8+ ( International Version with Exynos Processor ) and the device is great but I am not very satisfied with the batterylife of it.
I get about 3 hours of SOT and I wanted to ask if that's normal? Because I have read in lot's of reviews that the SOT should be about 5 hours.
I have the latest software installed and also made a factory reset after the update.
Greetings
Michael

Something is very wrong
With the + u should get much more even if heavy user...im intermediate user and get between 6-8 SOT easily. I would try a reset then return it if still the same.
Edit: I see u tried a reset... then I recommend returning it for a replacement.
i have the snapdragon version/unlocked/stock, and i get an average 6+ hrs of SoT (8+ when not gaming heavily - i've been playing Titan Quest on this everyday, sometimes for hours), so i would guess an app you installed is misbehaving.
I disable AOD and the problem of low battery life is gone, try that.

I have a new phone 2 weeks old and from day 1 I've had horrible battery even with minimal use. usually I can get through a work day and that's it. I work in construction so I have no wifi. I turn off Wifi,NFC,Data,GPS,Bluetooth, and set screen brightness to lowest setting unless i'm using them. But keep in mind I'm rarely using my phone except for breaks which i put it on the charger. Here are some pictures that may help decipher the problem. At first glance I have a "wake lock". I'm stuck at 384MHz. I've had a wakelock on all my roms for some reason. Sometimes its the media app sometimes its android system...Currently I'm on Barebones CM10 but I've had most of this forums roms\kernels on my phone after a full wipe and even after some odin stock. I'm kinda lost as my sister who got the phone a day after me has great battery life and my friends say they can get up to 2 days if they aren't using it. i don't believe the 2 days comment, but still his battery life isn't as bad. I'm not crazy right? Also, I'm not sure why all the time running aren't the same

Anyone have any tips on what I can disable on a stock non rooted device to get my Android System battery usage down? It's always on top and is usually in excess of 25%. As it stands I can't even get a day out of this thing with only 1.5 hrs of screen on time.
Maybe the battery is bad, phone is only a couple weeks old.
Oh and I should mention that there's no wakelocks or anything strange, it appears it's a legitimate battery drain. My screen brightness is low as well and today I never woke it up outside, just inside abient light. WiFi is off as well.

A thread all by myself, cool.
Today my battery has been unbelievable, only dropped 28% in 12 with plenty of use. I don't know what to think.
Same issue here.
I've had the phone for 5 days now.
First 3 were a blast with over 5 hours SOT.
I am now getting little over 2 hours SOT thanks to Android System.
Lonely threads come with expensive devices. No support, No Roms, No Development.
Anyhow, For your issue, Try minimizing the permissions of builtin apps. Disable autorun, and use greenify.
I finally have had my note 5 for a few days and so far it's really good! There is something that is really bugging me though and that is the standby time of this phone is horrible! And I'm sure it's not hardware related because:

This is definitely not normal, and it has always been like this from day 1. Idk why, but system and cell standby along with android OS are all using more battery than the screen. There is no doubt that the screen should be the greatest power draw by far on this phone, so that means there is something wrong here...draining my battery during sleep!
Anyone have any ideas as to what's happening?

Turn off VOLTE and WiFi calling.
What theme is that?
I tried doing that, and left my phone overnight at 95%. I woke up today and found it drained to 88%, Cell Standby and Android system being the top two equal drainers.

search for the thread about debloating the note 5 using package disabler. totally fixed the battery problem on my note.
This is what package disabler did for me. I'm more than happy, and is not even an aggressive setup. And Is not that I lost key features eother. The app has done wonders with my battery life.
Is it me but the new 30mb update OI5 is giving me better battery life? I updated early yesterday and notice my battery have not drained as fast as it was before the update.
You guys having the same experience?
Yes battery life seemed to improve after update for me as well

Yes! I went from 4.5 hrs of on screen to the same as above 7.5! Can we say SCORE!!!
I did the update (30mb) late last night, so its a bit too early to tell.
But I do hope that you are right.
This is what I go so far after the update.
Can't complain. It was fine before though.
How many apps do you guys have installed and do you use packagedisabler pro or are you rooted
Seems to be improved. Which blows me away for an android device since i was getting nearly 30 hours between charging before.

Anyone still waiting on the update like me?
I'm getting pretty good battery life on my device ???
People,
I have a problem with my A52 because it never gets idle in bedtime.
I've configured a Bixby routine to stop sync and all internet connectivity but the problem continues.
Also installed gsam battery but I have doubt how to locate the service that is causing the behavior.
Could you help me?
How many hours are you getting out of one charge cycle? And how many hours of screen on time are you getting?
We could compare and see if you really have a problem and it might become obvious as to what is causing it too.

Thank you!
I'll get the data from a regular usage day and share here to compare.

24-28 hours is about as much as I get myself, and I see that you've got 1d 3h 46min which is about 27 hours. So I'd say its fine.
