[Q] How to hard reset xoom wifi

I picked up a xoom wifi from costco today and setup it up. But I'm unable to use it since i'm getting continuos FC's on application launcher.
I tried to hard reset but it's not working. Here is what i did.
1. Power button + volume down
2. Select Fastboot
But it is stuck here with "starting fastboot protocol support".
I tried couple of times to start over from beginning, but i keep getting stuck at this screen.
Any help is hard reset will be appreciated.
Soft reset = Up Volume + Power on for 3 seconds
Hard Reset = Factory Reset:
Factory Reset the Xoom
method-1
Reset XOOM Tablet using keys
If Motorola XOOM tablet OS is not working then you can reset your device using hardware keys
• Turn your Motorola XOOM tablet off and then Turn the Tablet on again
• On start-up when you see the Motorola logo, press and hold theVolume Down key
• When you see the Android recovery text, press the Volume Up key to put XOOM tablet in recovery mode
• On the Android recovery screen, press and keep holding the Power button then press and release the Volume Up key
• Using Volume Down key navigate to Wipe data / factory reset option and press Powerbutton to select it
• Select Yes, delete all user data option using Power button
method-2
Reset Motorola XOOM from OS menu
• From XOOM home screen tap Apps > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset
• To perform reset operation, tap and check the Erase USB storage option
• Tap the Reset tablet and then follow the given instructions on the tablet screen.
Should be a sticky.

[Q] 9.18.94.xt926 Stuck in Factor Rest

Hey all,
Earlier today I tried to update from stock 9.18.94.xt926 to KitKat. Unfortunately after the system shutdown and the package tried to install it failed and rebooted to advice me of so. I read online that I should attempt a factory reset before upgrading.
So, I went to settings -> security -> factory reset.
The phone shut off and entered reset mode with the Green Android and a Blue Matrix swirling on its belly.
Since then, the phone has been stuck on this same screen. Additionally, on this page, if I press the volume up/down butts on twice a yellow text appears showing...
'
ge 1/1
Formatting /data...
'
Turning the phone on and off with power + volume down results in the same screen.
The only way I can get the phone to boot is by pressing power + up, then choosing something besides factory reset on the recovery page.
However, when the phone boots its as if it is a brand new device. Additionally, if I am to power down the device, it reboots into the familiar Green Android and Blue matrix page.
Is there any way to fix this issue?
Thanks,
-Tsoju

Power and volume button not working

My nexus 5 after some random reboots on latest cataclysm rom started to have a problem that power and volume button were not working at all. I have done everything and even flashed it all back to stock with no luck. The power and volume buttons work perfectly in bootloader mode but dont work in recovery or in the rom. Please help.
Another problem I just found out is that it's not charging and sometimes does not connect with PC.
I solved the issue by first flashing 4.4.4 factory image. The problem was still there so I entered recovery mode and unlike in lollipop's stock recovery, in kitkat's stock recovery the power and volume buttons were working. I then wiped cache and the factory reset and now the power and volume buttons and working perfectly in the os.

If you are still facing the problem, press & hold power + vol down button. It will turn your phone off briefly for 2-3 seconds & immediately again press & hold power + vol down button for about 5 seconds. Release it & this should take you to bootloader. And since you flashed twrp you might be familiar with pushing & flashing a rom from recovery.

No factory reset option

Hi
I just bought an used Flex 2, it seems to have been rooted (Super SU is present) but for me its is not an issue... what is weird is there is no Factory reset option in security menu and i cannot go to the recovery to do a factory reset (phone shuts down).
I want to do a factory reset because, each time i reboot i can see the LG wizard and it seems that notification bar cannot be pulled down too...
thank for your help
Factory reset is under "Backup & reset" not security.

Thanks, option is not present in this menu either...
I am downloadin package H95515c_00.kdz found in http://lg-phone-firmware.com/
and will attempt to flash with LG Flash Tool 2014, hope the strange behavior will be gone
I also stated that i cannot use volume buttons (but they are working) to go to dowload mode.
Everything seems to be OK after reflash
- notification bar can bee pulled down
- volume buttons are working
the phone is downloading missing apps...
