No you need to flash it white stock recovery
@magicozero
Do you have the ze552kl or the ze520? I can try to do it for the ze552 since I have that model.
@Rasque
If you can flash with stock recovery, you can flash with twrp. It has been discussed many times, and I flashed Oreo with twrp so I am speaking from personal experience.

what do you mean by "put room"? If you don't want to unlock your boot loader, you can still flash the stock unmodified rom through stock recovery.
If you don't want to unlock, you can try booting (not flashing) twrp through fastboot and then flash magisk. I've never tried it so I'm not sure if it'll work.

No, just with the original recovery.
@kiq1702 @mcyorian
Yes, you can flash it with twrp. Edit the updater script, it works fine. I don't think I've ever used the stock recovery to flash anything, went straight to twrp and never looked back.

Yes, you can. No need to edit script or anything but before reboot you need to flash magisk or it wont boot.
You don't need any kind of recovery to install this update. Just download the rom file from asus website, put it in the main folder of your zenfone3 (remember the main folder, not the downloads. if you download the update from your phone it will directly go to downloads folder, so you have to move the update file to main folder) and in couple of seconds you will get a notification that says new update found. And it will update itself. You don't have to flash anything with any kind of recovery.
Only thing to pay attention is when you are downloading the update from official website which is HERE choose the World Wide (WW) version.

I have successfully unlocked my bootloader with the Xiaomi Unlock tool. I am new here and I want to know how I can root my Poco X3 Pro (I have 8GB 256GB Global Variant)? Can someone share the working TWRP and Magisk? I just want to root my phone if someone has any working version of Magisk to flash from Fastboot mode it will be enough.
You don't need flash TWRP to install magisk. You have to download the firmware you are using and copy the boot.img to the internal storage. Then install the latest version of the magisk app and select "patch boot.img" as the installation method. The generated file must be flashed by fastboot ("fastboot flash boot boot.img"). Congrats! You're root.

I just made an account to remind: This is the Xiaomi.eu rom based on the chinese version
It is not the stock rom officially for the EU, the name of that would be "RJUEUXM"
I believe this is important, in case one wants to lock the bootloader again. From what I have read, unlocking a bootloader of a global/EU based Phone and downloading a chinese based rom and locking the bootloader will brick the phone. At least that's what I've read

Upload and send me boot.img by pm, I'm going to try patch it to know if it is a problem with your magisk or the file.
it seems that Magisk 22.1 was the problem, uninstalled, and installed v22.0. This version was able to do its job.

I can do it with 22.1, I think something strange happened with your phone.
Do we have to patch vbmeta also??
Has anybody had any luck flashing the EU 12.0.5.0 (RJUEUXM)? My bootloader is unlocked and I put my device in fastboot mode, extracted all the files in archived in the rom into my adb folder (which contains the adb repositories) and double-clicked "flash_all.bat" and let the process complete. However, my device does a constant boot loop of the POC splash screen. I thought what I did would be sufficient, or would I need to use the Mi Flash tool to proceed w/ this process instead?

Whether I build from source 9 or 10 it will still work with your phone. Because the kernel used with twrp that it still supports oneui2 and it boots even after updating to oneui3.

Thank you for this! Since Magisk removed the option for OTA install, I was forced to do it the harder way... But you my friend made it much easier on me ! Thank you!!
Sorry for newbie's question, what's the difference between the two files? one is stock and one is patched?
Yes. Stock has to be flashed to take next ota. And patched is for root on current rom. Since op9 now uses google ota if any partitions are modified including the boot image ,it will fail.

Mine still there as well. But I like to flash stock boot image back. Take ota. Then fastboot boot patched.img. Dump current boot image to sd through shell. Then direct install in magisk. I've seen many users have issues taking ota's using the other method. As in not even being able to boot or booting back into old build . So I prefer this way. Wanna avoid the msm tool and not loose data on device/have to factory reset.

Edit- I got it, I had to flash original images and then updates showed up. Thanks for posting these images.
Hi, thanks for posting the images. I assume global as in the US AA model since that is the only model with OTA from googles server right? The reason I was asking is I am on 11.0.4.4 and never received the notification for the update yet, but using oxygen updater, when I go in settings and check advanced mode, it shows a incremental update. My system under local file of course can't see it or will not show the update. I figured I could fastboot boot the stock image and then maybe it system could see the update, but when I try, the device just hangs on the fastboot screen(right before normally booting). I tried with my image and it booted. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

You are correct my friend. One needs stock untouched boot image to be able to take next update. If your on 11.2.5.5 you need that boot image to get ota to install correctly. This 11.2.6.6 img if for next round of updates. Here is 11.2.5.5 for anyone that might still be on older build.

UPDATED POST
Alternatively, you could:
1. Go to Magisk manager, and tap Uninstall to unroot. And then regular reboot.*
2. Download and install partial OTA, reboot and confirm update. Reboot to bootloader.
3. Fastboot boot patched boot img**
4. Go to Magisk Manager and direct install for permanent root.
5. Reboot and profit.
*this step presupposes that Magisk has a STOCK boot.img to restore for the unroot procedure. If it does not have that, you're obligated to use the process described in post #11.
**you could actually use a recent previous version of patched boot img (like patched 11244) if the update's patched boot img is still unavailable, and then use Magisk manager to patch the update with a direct install

So doing it this method backs up stock untouched current boot image and reflashes during uninstall of magisk to allow ota to go through.? Since the op9 uses google ota all partitions have to be stock including boot image. Or it fails

If you make a backup of the boot partition, TWRP will create a file called boot.emmc.win that is nothing different than a boot.img file. You can then pass it to Magisk to patch it.

This worked for me but just boot it without flashing by using "fastboot boot boot.img", that way if it fails your boot partition is still in tact. Once booted you can use Magisk direct install to patch your c.36 boot.
