Galaxy J7 2015 locked after installing custom ROM - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I got my J7 by second-hand 6 months ago, it was "unlocked" and i dont really remember the original firmware it had (to which Company it belong) because as soon as i got it i installed a custom ROM, the ENIGMA V3.
It was all cool until the music app started to stop so i decided it was time to try another ROM so i downloaded the Revolution OS V4.5... by that time i didnt realize it was based on Android 7.0, i flashed it via TWRP and as soon as it booted it requested Network Unlock PIN :C and since then my suffering has begun.
At first i saw it had another IMEI number so I flashed ENiGMA again, it booted but it still request the network unlock PIN
I dont know what else to do and im not gonna take it to tech support since it was already unlocked and i messed it up so i have to fix it!!!!
any ideas, advice on what to try?

Bumpy help helpy :c

The original firmware was full of trash apps so I wanted to debloat the system, after using ENIGMA for a while the music app started closing unexpectedly so I Googled a random ROM and revolution was there but it looks like its running on android 7.0 maybe it modified something about the baseband, I don't really understand that far.

Thanks lumin30
Both of you, bug Mobilicity for a stock image to restore your phone. lol. Wind won't give me one but maybe Mobilicity will.
I can get it to about 90% stock right now and I'm sure I'll get it almost there. The problem is this. To dump the stock phone, we need it rooted to gain access but the only way to get root on 2.3.6 with the latest patches, is to flash a rooted kernel, which is great but then prevents us from dumping the stock kernel. It's a catch 22. Need a hacked kernel to dump the kernel but flashing the hacked kernel erases the stock kernel. lol.
The package linked by lumin30 will get you rooted, and all the options from there are explained.
tnx

Hi,
I will check with mobilicity and see what i can do to get the files from there. I really doubt if they would do it for us.
Meanwhile i am trying to get the files from someone who has a official unlocked phone purchased which is carrier free.
He hasn't tampered with it yet.
let me see what he can do for us.
Thanks

[Q] No lollipop yet on my G3

Hello there,
Its been a while lollipop is out abd almost everyone is kind of enjoying it but I am really unfortunate that I haven't got it yet...dunno what is wrong with my device or if I can get it manually. Everytime I ask it to update, it says...you are running the latest one...it sucks
Any help here will be highly appreciated

First of all are you using the phone on AT&T or is it unlocked and your using it on another carrier?
If your on AT&T then make sure you device is registered on your account properly.
And lastly your in the wrong section
You are not missing much. It lags and there is no root

Kinda agree. It's not ready for prime-time. Simple acts such as using the keyboard become a hit and miss proposition. Stay 4.4.2/4.4.4 unless you just really feel the need to be on the bleeding edge.

If you're using it on AT&T, you can get my dlpkgfile from my post about it. Place that and the fota_script in the /cache/fota folder on your G3, then look up how to update using a dlpkgfile.

LG H900 ROMs

Hey, I heard somewhere that if you build a ROM off the stock kernel it would work even if you had a locked bootloader, I am going to try to learn how to make ROMs because it sounds intresting. Just a question.
can't we use flashfire to install ROMs?
Now that we have root I'm sure all these options are being looked at by the devs. Its a waiting game less you have the drive to learn how to become a dev yourself. Me personally I don't have what it takes so I'm just checking the forums daily.
Any luck on cm roms

Got a V10 from AT&T today
Hey guys,
We got a V10 from AT&T today in exchange for a G3 that crapped out. I hadn't heard of this phone until I took it out of the box (was expecting a G5). I saw there wasn't a CM release for the H900 and this thread is the most active one I found. I'm a software engineer and have rooted/rom'd several android phones, most recently the G3.
Short story long, I'd like to get CM working/supported on this thing. I saw a guide on stechguide.com for rooting and getting TWRP loaded via lgup/tot method that I'm going to try out. I was also wondering if any of you guys have done this, and if there are any rumors or news for cm support.

If you are on Lollipop you can root using the Tungkick method, but there is no TWRP available for the H900. The bootloader is locked and there is no unlock available for it yet. I wouldn't trust that guide.
If you are on MarshMallow there is no root available yet. Keep an eye out on this forum though, chances are it will break here first.
Hey all! Good news! A 9-year-old bug called the "Dirty Cow" exploit still exists in the Linux/Android kernel can easily grant root on any Android phone!!! See the video below.
http://www.xda-developers.com/9-year...on-of-android/
So there's another bug to exploit for root and even possibly unlocking the bootloader! The bug has been fixed recently in Linux but hasn't been rolled into Android yet. If anyone can get this working on my AT&T LG V10 (running Marshmallow) I'll give a reward of $50! Plus you'll be my hero! Now get crackin!
Have anyone figure it out yet??
Please let me know if you got it

There is interest in this. We simply don't have enough devs. We used to, until someone pissed off JCase and he refused to work on the V10.

The key to unlocking their bootloader would be nice
Right, of course. But can I ask for something else that allows the unlock? In other words, can I reword it?
EDIT- I emailed him asking flat out for a way or a contact of his that might be willing to help unlock the bootloader. Let's keep holding our breaths.

I think they mean to say he can't find the firmware for his phone. I personally haven't heard of Cspire so this may be why. The MetroPCS firmware took a while to be found. In any case, find your firmware HERE but I can't be sure it may be there. Good luck.

If your model number happens to be a SM-G930R7, I happened to find a working stock firmware to recover the OS back to working order. If you do have said model, I can set the files up somewhere for download and you just do the usual with Odin.
