I have the Wifi model of the 12.2 in tablet and i am looking for a new rom. I am rocking stock 4.4.2 and the only reason i have not swapped roms is because i love the touch wiz keyboard on my tablet. So is there any rom with the touch wiz keyboard that is running a newer version of android.

Just checking have you thought about this one? I have been thinking about trying it, I didnt see much feedback on it. Lineage 14.1 seems to have a lot of issues, I dont about 12 and 13 if they are stable or not. so I am looking for a good Rom as well.

Lineage is OK

I'm using Lineage 14.1 (v7.1.2 Android) and I like it so far. I had a problem at one point in the procedure (see my earlier post titled "Cannot root & flash LineageOS 14.1 (v1awifi) with sequence in LineageOS wiki page"). But I got that resolved. I'm pretty happy with the Android Keyboard.

Hello, I just rooted my Galaxy S3 for Verizon for the first time yesterday, therefore I am fairly new to this. After I flashed CM10 using TWRP, my Google apps are gone. I've tried flashing gapps on TWRP but it gives me a message saying "unfortunately, Google Play has stopped working." I know that this is due to the licensing issues and all, so my question is, what ROMS can I flash that has GApps available in it?
Thanks in advance!

To answer your question, any TW based roms will have Gapps with it. So practically any rom in the Verizon Galaxy S III Android Development forum would have it. To your issue, are you sure you flashed the right Gapps version? Just as reference you can get any version from here http://goo.im/gapps I assumed you flashed 10.1 version of CM since they are the latest which you should be using the 20130301 version of Gapps following the table that is on that website.
This might be a stupid question, but where can I find this forum? And yes, I did flash that version of Gapps... And correction; I have the 10.0.0-d2vzw version of CM. Am I supposed to get another version of Gapps? I really like this ROM and I want to try it out for a few weeks until I switch to a new one.

Forum section for us is http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1708 Go there and click on Verizon Galaxy S III Android Development forum. If you look at the website link I gave you, they have a table. On the left, it shows the CM versions and on the right shows the corresponding Gapps version you are suppose to use with that CM version. Since you are using 10.0.0, if you look on the left you will see 10.0.x and on the right, you will see the corresponding gapps version 20121011. You use that version for CM 10. Btw if you find CM 10 interesting go to the Verizon Galaxy S III Original Android Development forum. They have roms based on CM, AOSP, AOKP, etc. Be sure to read up more on flashing since you are pretty new to this. Bricking phones isn't fun lol
What ROMS do you personally recommend? And I know! I almost bricked it yesterday, and trust me, it was not fun at all.

Depends on your preference. If you are into the Stock TouchWiz look but without the bloat that verizon puts, I recommend CleanRom. I also recommend it to people who are new to flashing since it is a pretty simple rom. This rom is pretty much as close as you can get to getting stock reliability. If you want to go into a more customize it yourself TouchWiz roms, I would suggest SynergyROM, Jelly 'Beans' Rom, Hyperdrive, or Axis. Besides each having their own tweaks and sometimes themes, during install, you get to choose which apps/settings/kernel/theme, you want to have, so pretty much you get to customize almost all aspects of the rom to your liking. They all also get updated on a somewhat regular basis. You will have to flash all of them and play with them to see which one is to your liking.
For CM 10.1 based roms, CM 10.1 Nightlies, Slimbean, Carbon Rom. I would be careful with these roms, as they are a bit temperamental with some phones. Most of the time you are fine and you won't get into an issue but the times that you do, you will have to read through the threads to see if there is a solution to it.
There are also the PARANOIDANDROID and ParanoidKANGdroid roms, I haven't personally tried them but heard good things, they are also based on CM 10.1
I really appreciate your help, bro. For now, I'll stick to the CM 10.1 ROM that I just flashed. It's good so far, and I finally got t solve my issue of gapps thanks to you.
Great example of helping someone! Posts like this are the reason why I became a member of this site and fell in love with it (actually my wife calls it addiction)! I wish there were more people helping others like this, it would only make this forum better.
I know there's no such thing as a "best ROM", so I'm not going to ask for something like that.
But is there some 4.x ROM commonly accepted to be stable and recommended for Galaxy Fit?
I'd simply like to get from the 2.3.6 version to a 4.x version without any trouble...
I see that there's an Alpha version for 4.4, some unfinished 4.3 version and a couple of different 4.2.2 versions... It's absolutely unclear to me which one to take. Which one would you?
Thanks!

and flash this kernel after rom flash: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50353899&postcount=71
Pls,Give me feedback about battery/stabilty after flash, thank you
a stable 4.x rom which I have experienced were
aosp #3 by #root
nd
elementary v1.8 by alin.p
use MIUI V4 caspain series ,, its the fast and bug less rom ,, i have experienced
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543086
Thanks for all your suggestions so far!!
Right now my favorites from the suggestions are MIUI V4 and elementaryUX. Based on the comments in their threads they feel to be the most reliable.
The device that I'm going to flash is not mine so I can only do this on weekends. The most important thing is that it runs stable and smoothly afterwards. I'll decide until next weekend which of the two roms to go with and will post my results. Until then I'm still open for ideas and suggestions.
Some feedback:
I tried MIUI first but after playing around with it for half an hour I decided that it's not suitable for our case. It's way too different from a normal Android look and feel. I even didn't find the app drawer...
So I flashed elementaryUX 1.8 and liked it's usability. However in the beginning there were some problems (like touch screen didn't respond well in the upper area of the screen, and tapping quickly on delete in the keyboard closed the current app and went straight to the lock screen...), but after flashing "cm9-9.2-AOSP-kernel-Paul.zip" as amedra suggested those problems luckily went away! Initially I thought that kernel will only do some performance optimizations but apparently it's generally very important.
I still have some issues (like QuickShortcutMaker doesn't work, AFWall+ doesn't seem to work properly, I can't get rid of the brighness control bar in the notification area, etc.) but for the moment I'm happy that the operation suceeded. The device is now running Android 4.x very smoothly. We'll have to see about battery live and stability.
Big thanks to you all!
Hello.
I've got a Tab2 7" for about 2 years, allways hoped it would be updated but I guess Samsung never cared... Still in 4.1.2
In your opinion what is the best rom for a daily usage based in speed and stability?
Can someone point me in the right direction please?

All tabs are different, just as people are. Just download and install. Your opinion is the one that will matter to you. Flashing is fun! Just have fun.[emoji4]

As user above said, different peiple prefer different ROMs. But, if you are looking for a light ROM that is stable, try SlimKat. If you want Lollipop, there is SlimLP and CM12.1, but they will have some bugs that KK doesn't.
Thanks
Will take a look at that rom.
Im kind of new here, so hi Im looking for a good custom rom to flash on my GTab 2 P3110.
Im planning to use it on my car (already got a mount for it), so I need the rom to have a working gps and have compatibility with Here Maps.
Also, it would be good if it was the latest version (Lollipop), but it can be KitKat for the sake of stability and compatibility!
I had a Nexus 7 with AutoDroid installed, but my small cousin managed to crack the screen
So yeah, that's about it. Hope you guys can help me!

Look in the Development thread for 7" tab 2. Either I've tried SlimLP and CM12.1 on my tablet as far as Lollipop goes. If you want a KitKat ROM, SlimKat is a good choice. Be sure to click thanks on @Android-Andi in the ROM thread if you choose one of those. (Always click thanks on the ROM developers OP in the ROM thread)

I've tried both Lollipop ROMs. SlimLP causes Here to crash rly often (an user also reported that on the thread). So far, CM 12.1 is being stable as I needed. Thanked Andi already, he's an incredible guy! Also, thx for the suggestion, my friend

No problem! I am also running CM12.1 at the moment. Make sure you edit the thread title and add "[SOLVED]" to the beginning of it before "[Q]".
Have a great weekend!
Hello everyone i got a couple questions,
my good old (well not that good) galaxy tab 2 10.1 (P5110) is running LineageOS 14.1 atm. i moved from stock 4.2.1 to his custom rom.
but there are a couple things that i do not like about all the current roms (not trying to bash the great development teams over here) but it feels like i am holding a phone instead of a tablet.
Is there any rom out there that has the stock UI? and still be on android 6, 7+ ?
I tried OmniROM, SLIMROM, REsurrection, LineageOS but they all look the same (phone look).
thanks in advance, and keep up the good work

If you mean the launcher you can probably find some custom launcher in playstore that looks like the one in stock rom. If you mean the dropdown menu with the quick settings tiles as well, I dont think you can do anything about it.
I suggest you let it be as it is now. Once you get used to it you might actually like it more than the old. After all there is no "phone" or "tablet" look. They both run the same os. Their only difference is the size of the screen.
