Can't unlock bootloader - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Hello. I have BLN-AL30 running BLN-AL30C00B130 EMUI 5.0 Nougat and i want to unlock bootloader. I used the official way to get my unlock code but when i reboot to bootloader and type fastboot oem unlock <code> it simply says wrong password. I've tried both IMEIs and MEID but the site keeps giving the same code. I triple checked for typos and i'm 100% sure it's typed well. How do i proceed? Thanks in advance.

Since you are pretty sure, ask them again while explaining what happened (include screenshots to them)

Are you sure you ticked the OEM Unlock in Developer Options?

That's a thing that I've already seen on at least another thread between various help threads, if i don't remember bad the option could disappear if OEM unlock is leaved active before doing something else through adb/fastboot or meanwhile updating the software... But i can't confirm that my memories are correct. @Rommco05, if i remember well you was in that thread too; you remember the case where OEM unlock disappeared from developer options menu??

Absolutely not, pal. Check these screenshots. I'm on EMUI 5 and the OEM unlock option never disappeared on my phone. It's Italian language, but I'm sure that you remember the position of the option, is the 2nd one activated.

Yes is in developer menu on emui5/Nougat (don't remember if was in emui4/M), is save to take always enabled because if u somehow brick phone, is easy to repair when is FRP unlocked (OEM enabled). Thats the think which I always check after update or factory reset
---------- Post added at 18:35 ---------- Previous post was at 18:33 ----------
Is on top this menu, can u post whole screenshot from developre menu? It is Chines model, because Chines models don't have FRP/OEM?

Yeah, if you leave that option deactivated and your phone gets hard-bricked, you can't factory reset the phone due to Factory Reset Protection. A tricky option indeed.

Yes, your bootloader is locked.. try again via fastboot to unlock it.
You'll need the original key when you are trying it
the Command is something like "fastboot oem unlock *key*".
I know that. Have you seen my problem?? but, thank you anyway! I need to no why i get "wrong password" and what means "frp unlock".

I have taken 4 picures when i tried it. Can you find an issue? I don't think that i have made something wrong...
Thank you
I've had the same problem and it turned out that the first bootloader code i used ( with DC unlocker) is different from the one i got on the Huawei website.
So what i did eventually was to pay for the DC unlocker again.
I also downgraded back to MM, because i did not manually relock the bootloader before updating to N, which apparently locks the bootloader in a different way.
So I suggest dowgrading to MM and unlocking there plus relocking it before updating again,
IF you are sure you have the right / original bootloader code you used before,
or
use a 3rd party tool like DC unlocker to get the code.
You might have to downgrade to MM as well with this method . Not sure
Edit: Fyi, never post your IMEI online

It should either be an exe somewhere or just a bat file.
This tool does the same thing as a command window in the sense of unlocking the bootloader.
As far as I know it won't help with your problem.
Frp ( Factory reset protection) requires you to sign with your google account if enabled or you can't use the phone. ( Theoretically that is, I'm i noob myself so no idea)
But it was "locked" ( same as in your pics that is ) for me as well anf I didn't have a problem with it.

Safety is the enemy of freedom!! -.- Sounds very complicated! (sorry for my bad english). So, i was on android 6.1 and unlocked and rooted it. Than had my problems with root again (maybe the wrong supersu file, or something) Then i have downloaded update.app from hihonor and installed it from the external sd card and everything is working fine on my phone. but i can not unlock it. maybe i have the wrong software for my location ore something like that?
FRP unlock means "You have to unlock"? if its unlocked there will be "FRP unlocked"? i am right?
Maybe i should try the whole procedure from beginning. rollback, update etc.. and then try to unlock. or should i contact huawei?
Thank you and a nice evening *cheers* ^^

For downgrade you need a rollback package..
What is your model number and build number??
I have an honor FRD-L09 with build FRD-L09C432B394
I understood that I nned to rollback to emui 4.1 (android MM), then unlock, but after this step I cannot receive ota's so how can I return back to Nougat stock? And you have a trusted download for the needed packages?
I just want to use Titanium Backup to restore all my stuff... and some modifications (pixel launcher, magisk with some modules, viper audio, ad block, something this simple), nothing usually complex!
Thank you!

For downgrade process you don't need to unlock bootloader..when you downgrade you will receive OTA updates..
To use TB you need root..which is required unlock bootloader..
Why you want to go back to MM BTW??

Can't Unlock Bootloader

I tried using OEM unlock with my passcode (received from official Huawei website) using fastboot, but it responds failed everytime. Just recently, I realized that OEM unlock isn't actually there under Developer Options, so could that be causing it? My model number is LON-AL00, so I'm not sure if the bootloader is unlockable.

If you have AL00, so you should have Chinese ROM, cause it's stock. Chinese stock ROMs do not have option "oem unlock".
In this case you should do factory reset before unlock (something messed up and prevent unlock)
But if you have international ROM (rebranded by someone), you should turn option "oem unlock" on.

It does keep it as a Chinese stock rom, but it removes your Google account and that's probably what triggers FRP lock. You might even have to remove pin/fingerprint as well.

You won't see that option, it doesn't exist in the chinese ROM. What I mean is that FRP prevents you from unlocking bootloader. If you've added a Google account / pin / fingerprint you need to factory reset from recovery before trying to to unlock bootloader.

Then I'm stumped. Try contacting Huawei? You might receive an answer. Probably best to just call them. I've tried with emails 3 times, though it was for the kernel source so it might be why they never replied.

Thanks, I'll try that. The last time I contacted Huawei about why OEM unlock was missing, they told me they won't assist me in any bootloader-unlocking process. Hopefully I can get the correct code this time.

I struggled for a few days until someone suggested this solution to me. I worked instantly. Don't ask me why.
I suppose you can enable Find my Phone after unlock but I didn't do that.
Anyways, a little update: I've managed to unlock the bootloader. The actual code I used wasn't from the Huawei, but DC Unlocker instead. The strange part of this is that the DC code was 16 numerical digits, whereas the code Huawei provided me had a mixture of both numbers and alphebets. Hope this helps anyone who encounters this issue in the future!

Bottloader Unlock + Nougat update Help

hello guys... I want to unlock bootloader of my BLN-L21 model. I have a few questions before doing anything.
1. If I unlock BL on Marshmallow, will I be able to update to nougat through OTA UPDATE?
2. I have BL unlock code (Obtained through website selecting BEFORE EMUI5.0). Can I use the same code to unlock BL after updating to nougat?
3. I want to download official update package using Firmware Finder. It show 2 firmwares with same serial but one of them is MF and other one is MF-PV. What is the difference b/w the two?

Yes dload is the easiest way if the Settings app is not alerting you of an update. Some users reported that flashing the firmware through TWRP doesn't work. But for me, I tried it before in Marshmallow and it worked. I do not recommend this though. Stick to dload. :highfive:

Actually I can't exactly remember. But yeah I think the update is saved in internal storage. Because once it's downloaded, you can either install it now or later. While downloading the update, check inside the dload folder or any other folder with HW in its name. Check if there is a file there that grows in size as the download progresses.

No it wasn't for me, mine was unlocked by Ntool signature bin. And the phone was with security patch August first and oreo 8.1.

"If you've updated to August, you can use fastboot command to switch to previous version which is July"

Thanks

yeah, my phone was updated automatically, and I had no control over it to stop it, and after it updated to August 1st, I disconnected the phone from any wifi and internet
I went through an eligible channel, got registered, and they provided me a username and password to access Ntool, I received my unlock signature and flashed it and everything went
perfectly so far, however, I strongly recommend you, don't execute the command : fastboot flashing unlock_critical
as it bricked my phone and made me to use every possible tools on my disposal to get it back to life again.

Oh, it`s good. About unlock_critical - I did it, I have unlocked the phone completely and rolled back to Android Nougat (7.1.1) with help of unlock_critical and it`s work fine, had no problems. Anyway thanks for good news.
How to use that and where u get the firmware?

No harm in trying my friend. If we don't pressure HMD Global then forget about custom ROMS on a Nokia phone

I agree with that. The only solution seems like pressuring -we don't want to do-. I say again, don't be hopeless.

Pressuring unfortunately is the only thing we can do. Nokia themselves said that unlocking bootloader is the least of their concerns or rather they don't wanna bother with it at all. I'm not going to let my $$$ go to waste and I think we all should have the freedom to do whatever with our phone as we wish.

Er, I just know this is an incredibly naive and ill-informed comment to make but under "Developer options" on my brand new Nokia 8 it has the following switch:
"OEM unlocking" beneath which it says, "Allow the bootloader to be unlocked"
I haven't a clue what it means or what it does (not yet, anyway) but are you guys talking about else?
NB I'm running Android 8.1.0 with the 1st of August security patch installed.

That button is useless. It doesnt do anything as when you put the command in adb to unlock while being in bootloader it doesnt do anything.

That switch that you have mentioned has to be in unlock state in order for fastboot unlocking procedure to be working properly.
As far as I remember in the unofficial unlocking bootloaders in all articles I have seen, turning the OEM UNLOCK is mentioned to be in ON state.
I refer you to this website

Thanks, error. I note the "Workaround for devices upgraded to August 2018 security release" doesn't include the Nokia 8 but I'm not looking to unlock my boot loader just yet (I'm primarily interested in what improvements can be made to the camera app and whether or not Nokia are going to provide a solution themselves.)
As I understood an SP only changes the method of unlocking, some thing like another unlock key generation algorythm, right? I mean that unlocking will still available but another way. If so then we can hope to do unlock. My boot is unlocked and I don`t care about it very much, besides I disabled the updates, but I look into the future and it is not excluded that I will upgrade to newer FW.

Latest FW for C432 region CLT-L29 10.0.0.161(C432E3R1P3)

New firmware for C432 region is available for installation.
Any feedback?

Lucky You.
Btw. I've got a warning to all of you who installed 195.
I
hard bricked my P20 Pro (L29 C432 locked) when I tried to downgrade from 195 to Oreo 161 using hisuite and rollback firmware 161.
IT's totally bricked, cannot boot to any mode whatsoever. I'll ship it to service today.

Android security patch is from January 1, 2019

DO NOT INSTALL IT. There are rumors going around that it really messes with the bootloader. Some people reported it being locked after upgrading and it not being unlockable anymore with any known method
EDIT: Seems to be a false alarm. I've heard it from some people who run these unlocking sites. Better safe than sorry, I guess

I can't confirm that, installed, still unlocked and root via canary magisk still works. The one change that I noted is that Huawei finally fixed the home gesture, it now works like the mate 20 pro

Thank you. If you have a time later in night could you take some Night mode pictures and share with us? Because the camera performance is not the same since from the .128 fw which is really good.

I used the Firmware Finder pc application and my C432 P20 Pro is not yet approved for 195. That sucks

Do you use magisk modules like CallRecorder or something?
Did the shutter mode option returned to camera setting ? ( Volume Button as focus lock , not the burst mode )
Is it safe to make a factory reset on 9.0.0.195 if my bootloader and FRP are unlocked?

Yes, it was for me.
I did it a factory reset lowlevel and the device remain with BL and FRP unlock.
No issues with OEM unlock enable/disable.
