Formatting data sometimes fails, I don't know why or exactly how to fix it. Sometimes reboot phone and then back to TWRP is enough to be able to format.
Oh and if you didn't know the encryption of EMUI 4.1 roms causes "unable to mount data". Just mentioned in case you could find something from settings to un-encrypt.
One way I have made formatting able is:
1. Flash stock recovery of your current firmware. (Or maybe re-flashing firmware in TWRP might work too)
2. Do factory reset.
3. Flash TWRP
4. Try again to format data
flashing stock recovery and firmware and then do the procedure again

Hi everyone,
I have a Huawei Mate 7 LT-09 16 gig, and I recently did these works:
1. The installed rom was android 6 B513.
2. I read a post in this forum (that is closed now) and updated it to B553 KingVIP Chinese through restoring nandroid TWRP backup.
3. After install I saw lots of bugs, so I wipe all partitions through advanced wipe in TWRP.
4. Then install marshmallow stock recovery using mobopx tool.
after that nothing works.
The USB drive just show hisuite CD-Rom and device not recognize for ADB Options in windows 7,8,8.1 and 10.
There is no recovery,
There is no option using combinations of the buttons vol+,Vol- and power.
I tried installing stock ROM through .app file and dload folder and still nothing works.
I tried Jtag and after lots of work, fastboot screen appears and reinstalling all versions of different recoveries and looks like the software is installing nowhere in neverland!, there is nothing!
I take my device to a technician and he said there is maybe no way to re-run the device. I really need help.
Apologize for poor English and thanks in advance help.
First try flash twrp for 6.0 mobopx and then try restore backup b513 frome here
https://mega.nz/#!UsJh1YAb!A41FoZnuzWAcNdN0TaHN0pyA6AmDPQqz8vwYULxO0-8
And if work we work later to restore your MT to lp
Send from ?
First thanks for reply and then,
I tried all recoveries already, including twrp, cwm and stock, all versions of android (4,5.1,6). I have my twrp backup. My problem is that there is nothing comes, no recovery, no fastboot, just huawei logo. No USB detecting by computer, no adb device detection, nothing. Last time, before hard brick, I restored twrp backup and there was a 255 error by twrp in system partition.

I tried and could install twrp. When I try to restore backup using twrp it says "extracttarfork() process ended with error=255" and restoring fails. As I see there is 1200 MB in my system partition and twrp can not wipe it and this is the problem. I try to erase partition using fastboot and it says there is no permission to do that. thanks in advance if any help.
Something similar happened to me, too. What fixed it for me was this:
1) Go into bootloader mode (-Vol and Power)
2) Flash Marshmallow TWRP
3) Wipe CACHE, DALVIK, SYSTEM, CUST, DATA
4) Restore the Marshmallow KANG backup or flash one the KANG roms
Hope these steps help. I was on wits end and followed these steps after a lot of research and it helped. Good luck!

can you link me to 2) Marshmallow TWRP ?
At last I could fix my problem with my phone. I download Kang B553 zip, install it through twrp and then I could re-format system partition and I use B511 nandroid backup to restore everything and now the phone works like a charm.
Hi, I tried installing a CM 14 on my Honor 8 through TWRP. It didn't work (error 7 or something) so I wiped everything in advanced wipe (System, cust, OEM, data, vendor, etc.) The CM14 flash still didn't work so I thought I should reset it. Now there's no TWRP and I have to unlock the bootloader to flash anything but I can't do that without the Product ID. I can't enter the number because I can't access anything except ****ty erecovery which doesn't connect to any wifi and bootloader. Please Help, any coments are appreciated.
EDIT: Dload doesn't seem to be working
while flashing cm14 ...you done a wrong step by advance wipe and wiped the system and cust other ..
you just have to wipe the data in advanced wipe if you got error in format data option (( i also faced the same problem when i format the data it show error 7 and i just go to the advanced wipe and wiped the data thats it , i flashed again it works neatly..
now in this stage u have to get a roll back package of nougat of your device and copy the dload in sd card and
power off the devcie and press all the three buttons..u will be on emui 4.1.
again do the process to cm14 but you have to apply the rom on the system but dont advance wipe the system, cust ..etc

This is what worked for me:
I could not access my phone or even boot into Android to get the Product ID to get the UNlock code for the bootloader etc.
1. Initially my phone was in a boot-loop where it stops at the Huawei eRecovery screen and would not download or update via WiFi.
2. So the 1st step was to download a rollback package for my specific model - FRD-AL10. Then I used the "dload" method (SD Card > "dload" folder, Pwr+Vol UP+ Vol Down) to apply the rollback from whatever it was to FRD-AL10...B135. Succeeded perfectly.
3. Then I downloaded the stock firmware for FRD-AL10, Chinese model, non-specific and again used used the "dload" method to flash the stock firmware to the phone. Succeeded perfectly.
4. The phone rebooted to a 'out-of-the-box' first start-up screen prompting me to select the the Region. Thereafter the Language, WiFi, Agreement, etc and then started looping again to where it went back to the "Selection" screens > Region, Language, WiFi, Agreement, etc. > loop again back to Region, Language, etc.
5. I flashed the firmware again using the "dload" method with the same result.
Note: All other posts suggested I had to 'unlock' the bootloader, root the phone, etc. Unfortunately I did not have access to Android on the phone to get the Product ID, to get the UNlock code, etc. This is where I got stuck. I used different tools, but none would work as the bootloader / phone was LOCKED & the phone UNrooted, FRP was locked.
6. Then I used "Huawei DC Unlocker". I had to buy credits first - 15 Euros. Then used "Huawei DC Unlocker" to essentially "UNLOCK" the phone, it did not "UNLOCK" the bootloader, but it did something the the "FRP" locked issue.
7. I restarted the phone in "SAFE" mode. I was again presented with the "Selection" screens > Region, Language, etc, BUT this time the phone booted into Android.
8. Rebooted the phone in "Normal" mode and it booted into Android. NOW I had access to the dial-pad and could now get access to "Developer" options like USB debugging, get the Product ID of the phone to get the UNLOCK code from Huawei, etc.
9. Once I had all the information I needed, I then 'unlocked' the bootloader by following the instructions from Huawei's website using "fastboot.exe" etc.
I hope this information will help someone.
I have j710F with stock android 6.0.1,I flashed latest twrp3.1.x. but when i booted into recovery I was facing the problem of 0 mb internal storage so I formatted the data and the problem was fixed but when I rebooted my phone into system and made the whole setup again. After that I again booted into recovery the problem was again the same so i again repeated the whole process and the result is same....
I wamt to flash a custom rom but couldn't due to this problem can anybody help me?
Sorry for bad english

U have to wipe the internal storage once to use internal storage is encrypted ..cwrp will solve this problem ..u have to wipe first internal storage
Recovery TWRP 3.1.1-0
Root + Xposed Installer
* J710MN *
Format Data and reboot in to recovery and see if it will work...
look ... i got the same problem as yours i got j710f and i have tried a lot of custom roms but the problem is that this model doesn't accept or have a custom rom due to it's kernel and i ended with bootloop or a broken device , because the stock kernel of the this model doesn't attache or mount with the custom recovery like twrp so you have to format data every time you use twrp or any custom recovery when you flash any zip file.
recently they developed a custom rom called Enigma V5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/rom-enigma-n7-s8-romallooosh98-j76-t3609504
but it has a major issue for the j710f model which is the wifi and cellular data not working due to the modified kernel of the rom it self so have to reboot into recovery then format data and do a full wipe , cash , system , internal storage but not the SD card then flash the Enigma V5 rom , reboot agian to recovery , format data " dont not wipe anything " , then you have to flash the STOCK boot.img of your stock frimware to get this rom work fine .
Hi,
I recently tried to install a custom rom (Resurrection Remix) on the latest EMUI version which resulted in my device not booting anymore.
After several tries I gave up and wanted to simply use stock with root.
I installed SuperSU, but that did not show up in the application menu.
After that I recovered system and boot from a recent full backup and installed magisk.
That resulted in the device not booting anymore at all. This condition stays now.
I then reinstalled the stock rom via dload method, with a factory reset after, but it then started to be stuck in the blue screen with the honor logo.
Is there anything I can do? TWRP is gone, I only get the stock EMUI recovery.
This happened to mee too. You should try a wipe data and cache from recovery, then reboot. It worked for me.
P.s i flashed a stock recovery don't know if TWRP will work the same, try.
After the dload update the stock recovery is installed again, I wiped data and cache already, but that didnt make it work too :/
EDIT: Found the error: The /data partition is unusable in it's current state (f2fs). Is F2FS the default filesystem for /data or do I need to change it to ext4 or something?

Hey,
I have a problem,
I did full wipe and changed TWRP 3.0.2 recovery
Modified roms did not want to install, ended up with Huawei stamps.
I can not also after reinstalling on Huawei Recovery to run the installation of the dload folder also does not work because it does not cover up recovery try recovery.
All I can do is enter bootloader mode and upload TWRP 3.0.2 recovery.
I have backup in TWRP but during recovery I have error / cust extracttatfork () error = 255
Please help me.
I would like any rom to run so the phone is in a usable state.
Sorry for my english, i support google translate.
Thanks
try this universal TWRP backup and use it to restore to your phone
http://ministryofsolutions.com/2016/07/huawei-mate7-marshmallow-upgrade-b571.html
Try wipe /cust partition again
I think it because your cust is full (not fully wipe)
Check by click on backup , you will see if it fully wiped or nah .
If it still full , you have manually delete that cust
Go to advance->file manager
And delete everything in cust
And do a wipe
And then do your restore .
Hope it work
