managed to repair. Reflashed oeminfo via TWRP and restore custom.bin via TWRP. Flashed NXT-AL10C00B562 via fastboot. Same error at dev options but at least it saw HiSuite. Downgraded to B386 via HiSuite and now everythink works

[SOLVED] Can flash but not configure the phone (country selection or wifi select)

Hello
i have rooted my Mate 8 with Rayglobe's method
i flashed the Simply google rom and tried the B156 and B162 version.
When the flash is finish (with no error), i reboot the Mate 8.
But when i'm on the country selection OR the wifi selection, when i click "next", i go back to the main menu, to select the country ...
Its a sort of bootloop... very strange.
I wipe everything in TWRP 3.0 (Rayglobe)
So i tried to flash the L29 rom for my phone (it came with this name) with the Rayglobe's method (with the "unbrick" section)
The flash is ok, then the Mate 8 reboot.
And i still with the same problem with the others rom.
Now, the recovery TWRP has disappared and i am with the Huawei stock recovery.
Can you help me please ?
I have the Mate 8 international version, L29
Thx
So, i solved my self the problem:
- wipe system/data from stock recovery
- use Rayglobe's tool with option number 5 and 1 (from AL10 to L29)
- stay patient ...
- and tadahhhhhhh : themes are back and all work fine.

Thanks ..
I might as well post this here -> -> How to: Root and repair data on the FRD-L04 - B320
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70266853&postcount=262
Will android pay stop working even if I use the official beta 7.0?
Thanks man, but is there any successful way to flash B324 so far?
Is Wi-Fi calling enabled in this beta?
Managed to do the same using Charles app (see https://forum.xda-developers.com/ho...-to-nougat-t3510275/post69885525#post69885525) without any unlocking and flashing.
I have the FRD-L04B567 phone. I installed the TWRP for the Honor 8. I have installed a different ROM (CM13.1 ROM) successfully. I followed your instructions to the "T" in post #1 . The install of update.zip stopped at /cust with an error. I tried wiping and rebooting but am stuck in the "honor" bootup screen. Unable to force back into TWRP or fastboot or ADB at this time. Still picking up the pieces....
UPDATE: I forced phone into Huawei eRecovery screen and selected factory reset/wipe That got Nougat running but there is no keyboard and Google will only allow voice for any input. Since my wifi is encrypted, I cant give Nougat a password to get on the internet. I am creating a temporary unencrypted network to see if I can get further.
UPDATE: TWRP was wiped so I will reinstall. Then I will try update the regional update (second update mentioned)
UPDATE: Reflashed TWRP 3.0.2.0 for Honor 8, I can get into the bootloader but not recovery, eRecovery works but...(worthless). I cant flash the second update.zip because I cant get TWRP started. Obviously 3.0.2.0 is not compatible with Nougat, I may try 3.0.3.0? why not...
UPDATE - Flashing TWRP 3.0.3.0 was dumb. Now ADB sees the device (good) but I can not get to bootloader or recovery. TWRP flashes (displays) once a second and will not start (bad) . Hopefully someone can learn from my quest.
So, can someone help me proceed from a state where ADB sees the device? thanks Maybe extract update.zip?

Thanks for the reply, I finally got TWRP 3.0.2.0 for Honor 8 flashed (but now it won't work), I believe Nougat and TWRP aren't compatible. Huawei Hisuite said that phone was fine and recovery not necessary??? I disagree. I think I will have to wait for TWRP that is Nougat compatible with FRD-L04

If you want to get back to any working state, i recovered from 7.0 unbootable to vanilla 6.0 like so (for frd-l09, but probably still applies):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/honor-8-bricked-t3521813/post70326674#post70326674
// edit, also for completeness, i then flashed twrp 3.0.2 (official) and installed the cm 7.1.1 from the other thread here. All working fine.
fuflo,
thank you for your reply, it helped me get my Honor 8 back up and running.... I am now running CM 14.1 and Nougat 7.1.1 on my FRD-L04
Cheers

Same problem as above, I could flash the update.zip, but not the USA package, maybe I didn't have the right TWRP version?

Bricked Honor 8

Hallo all,
I’ve bricked my Honor 8. I’ve tried to fix the “failed to mount ´/data´”
problem (if i remember it right) by changing the data format with twrp
3.1.1.0 from F2FS to ext4 back to F2FS. After that I got “failed to mount
´/cust´ - ´/vendor´ - ´/system´ and ´/product´ (invalid argument)
What doesn´t work to unbrick:
The HiSuite sytem-recovery – system is not supported
The Huawei – eRecovery: after connect Wifi: Package not found - Package data failed (something like that)
Rollback to Android 6.0: works - rebooted in eRecovery mode and changed emui to "cant connect to Wifi".
ADB fastboot:
Trying to flash the
- boot.img (works)
- recovery.img (works)
- system.img - > FAILED (remote: spare flash write failure) WHY?
The dload-method:
trying the Stock Rom Honor 8_Firmware_FRD-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI
4.1_C432B131_Western Europe.zip – chrashed at 5%
Would be very thankful for help.
Update
After a lot frustration and my last hope to send it to a repair service I remembered the first problem, when i´ve tried to install a custom rom with the error message that includes: “This package is for: FRD L09….. blabla. THIS DEVICE IS EVA” EVA stands for Honor P9.
So I´ve tried to install “HUAWEI_P9_Firmware_EVA-L09_Android 6.0_EMUI 4.1.1_C432B182_Western Europe.zip” with the dload-SDcard method.
And…. it works. So, now I’ve a Honor 8 that says “I’m a P9”
Can please someone explain what happened to my smartphone and is there a chance to install custom rom or stock based on Honor 8? :cyclops:

Basically twrp took over the recovery partition, so erecovery couldn't do it's thing and activate wifi what you can do is use the rollback package, then flash the regular recovery (from the full package) and use that to fully recover your device.

I only can use the rollback package from the Honor P9 und i´ve did. But it doesn´t change my phone back into a Honor 8 rom device and doesn´t reactivate the WIFI.
I think you are right and twrp_3.1.0. changed from LRP to EVA. There are not many steps i´ve done. I´ve unlocked it and flashed twrp. But why and how and how change it back to LRP?

Alright. If I were you I'd try something, download the emui 4 full package for the honor 8, use the update extractor to pull recovery off of it.
Plug the phone in and hold power+volume down to access fastboot, and flash the recovery image, now use the roll back honor 8 package or see if you can flash the regular honor 8 package with dload.

I accidentally installed a wrong TWRP as my eRecovery partition

Hi guys! In Huawei MultiTool, I accidentally installed a Nougat TWRP to my eRecovery partition with the default EMUI 2-5 option and accidentally hit the 'Flash as eRecovery' option. I tried flashing it back via fastboot, I also tried Huawei MultiTool and HiSuite's Recovery options, but all of them failed. How can I fix it?
UPDATE: I used the MultiTool's Unbrick option and eRecovery is now back!
Hello, same thing happend to me a time ago. You must download an original firmware same as already installed, then download huawei firmware extractor and flash the original recovery via huawei multitool method. it works well for me. Im on FRD-L02C432B407 EU version. Hope it would be helpful. Good luck !

Need Help to Unbrick Honor 6x

Hello Friends,
i need help after bricked my Honor 6x. I can not flash TWRP recovery anymore. The smartphone was on EMUI 8 (India version). Now I can only go into the StockRecovery or the eRecovery. Attached is a picture of the information from the smartphone. I urgently need help.

Can you enter fastboot? Try dload method. It works. What were you doing that caused the brick

I tested dload- methode but after 5% it failed. I don't know which Firmware i must use. For the BLN-L21 no Oreo oder Pie available. I have India Version of Oreo on my phone, then i installed Elemental Rom V2 from this forum.
What exactly did you do? To cause this brick. After flashing Elemental and Data did you run kernel? Unzip the small archive UpdateKernal and run update.bat Where did you go wrong?

I have the same problem: Honor 6x bricked and dload metod doesnt work. PHONE and FRP are locked I need help
I don't know exactly why it was. I first used the Huawei Multi Tool to see what it showed me. There he showed it to me with firmware version "System 8.0.0.046(0EFK)". After that I connected to the internet via a friend's hotspot and tried to recover everything via eRecovery, but it didn't work. Then I switched off the phone, flashed the StockRecovery again via Fastboot, set it to factory settings and rebooted it. Then again into eRecovery and there to Shutdown. Then I installed the twrp-recovery, Wipe -> Format Data (yes), Reboot to Recovery, Wipe -> Data/Cache, Dalvik Cache and then the EMUI 8 from the India version was installed again via the HuRupdater. Now I have RROS from OpenKirin on it. Everything at your own risk. All data without guarantee. I am not responsible for errors or damages on your devices.
