Help Rooting Doopro P2 Pro - General Questions and Answers

I recently bought this phone of Amazon, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Doopro-Smartphone-Quad-Core-Bluetooth-Cellphone-Black/dp/B071HN52FQ as I lost my OP3
I have been trying to root it for few hours with no luck, there seems to be no mention of this phone on XDA or anywhere else
I managed to get adb driver to work after some struggle, then followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684210 but didn't work at linux stage
I tried to sideload flashable SuperSU but that gives me error 255
So kinda stuck atm if anyone has any suggestions would be great
P.S I don't think TWRP or CWM recovery support this phone yet so can't root via recovery either
I have been able to unlock the bootloader via developer settings :0 so just need a compatible recovery any help is appreciated

bump anyone got any ideas??

Ads are constantly displayed on this smartphone
It's just too much overall. I would therefore be interested in how to rooted the device.

On Doopro P1 Pro I had to deactivate the preinstalled apps Turbo Battery, Touchpal Keyboard and some Fontstyle app. Hope this helps.

How is the camera sensor on P2 Pro? On my P1 Pro focus is just bad.

Turbo Battery, TouchPal, and Launcher3 are preinstalled apps on the Doopro P2 Pro that I believe are responsible for the many advertisements and unexpected web page views. Unfortunately, these apps can not be easily uninstalled
There is only the option "Disable" or "Force quit". I press the button "Disable" I get the following message:
Do you want to replace this app with the factory version?
Only the updates will be uninstalled and the app remains active in the factory version.

I finally managed to root it !!
Hi !
This post is a bit old, but the information can interest maybe other people looking for a way to root their Doopro P2 pro.
I managed to do it using the Doopro C1/P1 recovery rom you can find here => check rom provider "doopro-c1-pro-root-twrp" on google (i can't post urls yet)
1 - Download and extract the zip file
2 - Connect phone
3 - Enter the following commands :
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery <image_file_path>.img
fastboot reboot
<wait for reboot>
adb reboot recovery
=) from this custom recovery you will be able to install SuperSu in order to root your phone.
To do so :
1) I downloaded SuperSu apk,
2) transfered it to the phone
3) reboot in recovery using : adb reboot recovery
4) from recovery, install SuperSu apk
Hope it can help !! I worked perfectly for me
To remove ads, in preferences, you can check which app is allowed to draw over other apps and disable it.
(check on google it easy to find out, I cannot post url yet)

I successful rooted and I installed twrp on my device: Now I looking for a img rom for it.
Any link?

Nvidia Shield Portable Lollipop (Update 103) Root - Which CWM Version?

Hey Guys -
Today, I upgraded my Shield Portable to 103 / Lollipop from the last public update. As I have all my Android devices rooted, I am needing to do so, but have a question. I much prefer manual rooting over apps (like Kings) where i don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
After reading through posts, I read that TWRP (which I usually use) wasn't installing SuperSU, but that CWM was working properly. I went to CWM's site, but they didn't have a download specifically for the Shield so I searched everywhere for whatever the latest working version would be. I ended up downloading and flashing two separate recovery images, but they didn't work. For both, when attempting to enter recovery from the Bootloader menu it just quickly reloaded the Bootloader menu and when fully booted into OS and running "adb reboot recovery", it would boot to an error screen.
Which version of CWM should I be using with Update 103 / Lollipop for the Shield portable? If you have a link or if steps beyond flashing it using above methods are needed, what are they? Finally, I read in one post what seemed to say that SuperSU was integrated in CWM therefore there wasn't need to download a separate zip for it. If that's the case, great. If not, which version should i use - the latest Beta 2.49?
Thanks Guys!
You can install SuperSU (No Custom Recovery Required)
Actually you don't need any custom recovery to install SuperSU, All you need to do is the following :
-Install KingUser App to install root.
-Download any "Control Rotation App" (at Google Play Store) and set it as Portrait Mode (if it didn't work make sure that the Nvidia Shield Portable is in a sitting position and flip it , It should work , If not try installing other apps) {This step for the next App to get it work}
-Install "Super-Sume" (at Google Play Store) , Then touch the big blue button , After that wait until the process is done , You should see SuperSU, In the other hand Kinguser has already vanished (I'm not sure if SuperSU will open automatically or not), Install the binary, Reboot, Done.
Have a nice day
Thanks for the reply...
Well, the only reason I was trying to use this method was so that I wouldn't have to use KingUser since I didn't know what it would do on the system. Since I haven't gotten any other replies yet, it may be my only option currently. I'll probably go with it over manual root (using CWM) tomorrow morning unless I get another reply by morning.
Thanks
Newer TWRP builds install supersu fine. Use the TWRP in the multirom thread, not the one in the 2.8.5.0. In my recent development, I've installed supersu 2.49 several times without issue.
Thanks, I actually just found this out right before checking this post. I used "twrp-multirom-20150801-UNOFFICIAL-roth.img" which worked great.
Thanks!

Yay another one, I think this is the fourth of this same exact thread
You might want to mention how kingroot/kingoroot send your personal data to Chinese servers and the twrp builds you linked to only work fur the SM-T230, SM-T230NU, and SM-T231, and will not work for any of the several other Tab 4 7" variants

I dont think that if you install first supersu me and then kingroot your tab, after root turn wifi off and use supersu me, no data sent to anyone........ anyways it doesnt send your passowords etc to china, just like browser data and few app datas.... but theres no way to get passwords.... all are crypted or hidden well in smali

I wouldn't be sure about that. If you type in your password, once rooted, anything can easily capture the keyboard input and log it or send it out. Let me elaborate. It's like the guys who say, "Hey I have a firewall installed so it cannot communicate out." Yeah, o.k., so all the firewalls do is manage IPTABLES, so if I am an application and have root access, I can do what I want to avoid your firewall rules quite easily. Just a thought.
Hmm, updating the binary will remove the @#$%&* thing , we're just going to use the app to root our phone, and I guess wiping cache and dalvik is necessary
BTW tab 4 is best for gaming because of it looks and size but due to a stupid Samsung company, 1.2ghz + vivante gc1000 expect lagging, I hope some kind hearted will make a custom kernel for overclocking this tab.
BTW There's no Tex plugin on gltools, installing default will not work, so you have to find a cracked version of gltools, well if you do that... R.I.P expect force closes

Well i didnt say anything about firewalls i was daying if you manually disable wifi and use king root, it wont be able to connect anywhere to send any data.... also you can search by date and time files made during root session and remove everything to prevent any keyloger to work
Have ODIN and a stock image ready!!!
Be careful with this root process! The sm-t237p 5.1.1 OH7 boot loops and won't hold the root or Philz recovery... Yet!:cyclops:

No. I can easily change the file and date stamp to match any given system file you already have so that it is not easy to find. Also, Kingroot will not run correctly and root your device properly if it cannot contact it's servers to download the proper exploit for your device. Now, if you are talking about disabling wifi only so that Kingroot cannot contact it's servers after you are rooted, well, if you use any data what so ever, it can use that same data connection. As an example, I have to have data of some type to login to my bank site, etc..
SM-T237P Specific maybe others with PhilZ recovery...

Flashing recovery trips KNOX (no warranty or OTA updates) and the other method sometimes doesn't... Also, the recovery/zip method stopped working on lollipop and marshmallow with the older SuperSU builds but... Chainfire has a new BETA SuperSU 2.6X that is a systemless root and now working on the newer Android builds using the recovery/zip method. This seems to work for mostly ALL Samsung and Nexus devices... Read about it here:

OTA 4.2 Installation Error on rootet Shield

Hello!
I need some Help with my Shield Tablet. I own the "Nvidia Shield 32GB LTE" Version and did root it 2 or 3 Days ago. Now i got the Message for the new "4.2 Upgrade" but after trying to install said Upgrade, i get the laying Android with an "Error". I tried the Installation 2 Times with the same Result. Do i have to Factory Reset my Shield to be able to install OTA 4.2?
I have no Experience with anything related to Software modification and got my root with a YouTube Tutorial on the Shield. I'd like to keep the root, and would reroot if necessary.
Any Help is appreciated!
Informations that may be helpfull:
- I have the Nvidia Family Drivers installed
- I have "minimal ADB and Fastboot "
- I own the "32GB LTE P1761" Model
- I have Android 6.0.1 installed with the Security Patch from 1. March 2016 and Shield 4.1 (24.3.67.35) Software
- I used the "TUTORIAL - Root NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet / K1 - Android 6.0" Tutorial on YouTube
Once you're rooted, you cannot update via normal means as the regular OTA update will check the system partition to make sure it is untouched.
The easiest way to update is to simply have the updater download the Full OTA and install. Go to Settings -> About tablet -> System upgrade -> 3 vertical dots on top right -> Advanced -> Check full upgrade (check it).
When it updates, it will remove root and very likely the TWRP recovery.
After it's updated, you can then go back and flash TWRP 3.0.2-2 to the recovery partition and then flash SuperSU 2.76 within TWRP. You may have older versions of TWRP and SuperSU if you used the YouTube tutorial, so be sure to get these newer versions.
Thanks for the the Advice, it helped!
Now im facing another Problem. After updating and rerooting, i can't use Lucky Patcher to install FakeGPS as an System App. I get the Error "there is not enough space within the system partition to move the application. please free up space in /system then try again.". I should have plenty of Space left on Internal and the full 180GB on my SDXC but it doesn't want to install. :I Any Suggestions?
Also "Hide my root" tell's me that it can't finde the "su binary".
Damn i want a one-push-do-it-for-me button. :crying:

Your not allowed to discuss LP here so I can't help with that. But if I were you I'd look at enabling compatibility mode in supersu. This helps with programs that haven't been updated to work with systemless su. I think the reason you can't install as a system app is because the program isn't properly calling su.

Yes I have busybox installed, but didn't help much. I will look in to Factory reset since I don't have private Data on this Tablet and I belive i may have done something wrong with the reroot.
I did a quick search on the supersu compatibility mode bit with no useful Results.

Problems with installation of Marshmallow on a Tab 2 5113 with 4.1.1

I hired someone not super familiar with flashing a custom rom, but who knew more than me. We got MM installed but I am having some problems. First, the only reason, I updated the rom was to get mirroring. However: 1. there is no mirroring, but there is cast. I have a Tab 4 and mirroring works perfectly with it and KitKat. I tried about 5 mirroring apps from the Play Store and they all require that the Smart TVs I have (Samsung and LG) be connected to the Internet because using the TV's internet connection is a major nuisance for me. That is not required with my KK Mirroring, and I am wondering whether I should get rid of MM and flash KK. Or, is there an app that will work without mirroring. 2. My SD card is now invisible. When I link my Tab to my windows 7 computer, my SD card doesn't show. (Additionally, come to think of it, none of my files show. All I get is an image of 5100, but when I click on it nothing shows on my windows 7 computer.) 3. Probably related to No. 2 -- Some apps seem to install, but I have no way to access them because no shortcut is placed on the screen and I have no tree of files. (Titanium Backup for instance, can't be accessed. However, when I downloaded ai-keyboard, it mostly worked)
Hate to ask so many questions, but this is what I now have. Would call the person who did the flash, but his wife is due any day, and for all I know, gave birth yesterday.
which M Rom did you installed? kindly mention Rom and recovery build number as well.
are you using any other home launcher than the default? how did you installed titanium backup? normal or copy pasted apk to the system partition?
have you checked the luncher setting? for instance I can hide some apps from the nova launcher but can find it with it's search bar.
check with the default launcher or any other.
did you unlocked the tab while it was connected to your pc? did you changed the mode to MTP?
I haven't tested screen mirroring with this device. although I checked briefly with a Samsung S, S4 and a G3 on a LG smart tv with webOS 3 using LG TV plus app, I had to be on a same network with wifi hotspot enabled from my device (didn't required a working internet) and selecting LG tv plus option from the TV.
I still haven't been used to with screen mirroring and cast. so others can help.
Hi Billys,
Thanks a lot for your response. My Internet has been down for about 2.5 days and that is the reason I am late responding to you. The CM version was 13.0.20160222-2140-UNOFFICIAL -P5110. The CM Recovery Version was GT-P5113 CM Recovery 6.0.1.0.tar.
The Launcher is the default that comes with MM. I installed Titanium Backup through the Google Play Store. I have been fooling around with the device and Root checker basic says that root access is not properly installed, which might explain why Titanium Backup is not working. Also, SuperSu won't open.
You asked me: "did you unlocked the tab while it was connected to your pc? did you changed the mode to MTP?" Don't understand the questions, particularly the second one. If you could be more explicit maybe I could answer the question. Thanks again for your help.

when you connect the tab to PC, there is a logo of CM in the status bar, drag the notification menu, and tap the CM menu, there, check If MTP is enabled or it's set on charging only mode. you can also set this in setting-developer. make sure the keypad is not locked as well

I did the recovery boot, and it shows CWM v. 6.0.1.0. It also shows install zip from sd card. However, I have multiple zips on my sd card. How can I be sure that it is installing the right zip? Will it automatically grab the right zip file.?

It won't automatically get the zip file because you select the zip you flash. Just navigate to whet you put the zip and flash that

To make a long story short, it appears that my Superuser is misbehaving. Used root checker to analyze and it found that Superuser was installed and that SU Binary files were installed. However, it found a Root User Account Error. (Error: stderr: null, stdout: null, exit..value: 1) It suggested that I reinstall Superuser app from TWRP. .
After much experimentation, I can get into TWRP when I reboot in the recovery mode. (not when I hit the icon on home page -- tells me I need root access) When I hit install, I see CWM 13, An android 4.4 (omni-4-4-4-20160305-1323 expresso-HOMEMADE.zip) and a gapp 6 --- a long time ago when I downloaded 4.4, I didn't know how to get to the corresponding gapp, so I didn't do so. Also, SuperUser doesn't show up at this place, so I don't know how to reinstall it.
Can anyone tell me how to reinstall Superuser and get full SuperUser access?
Also, I am thinking of going back to Android 4.4 to get mirroring. Can someone point me to the gapp file for that. Additionally, when I possibly would be installing 4.4, would I first install 4.4 and then reboot and install gapps. Or should 4.4 and gapps be installed at the same time?
Thanks for everyone's help. Sorry to ask so many questions. However, have gone to youtube and web many times and still am confused about what is going on.

If you installed CM13, is actually pre rooted. Just enable it from the developer settings

Finally figured out that I could transfer SuperSu zip file to my Tab and then install it from TWRP. Did so and also wiped clean the cache and now SuperSu is functional and I can get rid of the bloatware and speed up the Tab. Thanks for everyone's help.

Question Poco x3 pro can't get root

Hi everyone.
to see if anyone can help me get full root please.
I have tried to root my "poco x3 pro" many times but to no avail.
According to magisk and root checker they say that if there is root but when using the apps, they request root access and according to magisk it grants it but then it says that the option is temporarily unavailable.
this happens to me with "es file Explorer", "root Essentials" "sixaxis controller" etc ,.
I already tried it with the global official miui, miui.eu and xperience rom, I installed it with twrp and with orangefox. Thank you very much and greetings.
Edit:
Well, it's appear that the apps I used, are incompatible and obsolete on android 11.
Magisk can grants root very well.
Thanks everyone
What magisk versions are you using
Try some other versions

I already flash the stock rom and it remains the same
Not surprising me: don't think phone's Stock ROM ( Android 10 MIUI 12 ) is pre-rooted.
BTW:
To root phone's Android TWRP isn't needed, you achieve this by means of Magisk. How-to in detail is described here

Do you have other apps that can use root access?
For example: root explorer, MiXplorer, termux, terminal emulator... any apps that can use root.
Try them and see if those apps can get root access.
A) If those example apps can get root permission and works properly, then the problems are within those apps that does not work properly with root.
es file Explorer : original ones cannot be found on Play store, suspect lack of maintenance for new Android version
root Essentials : last update : October 27, 2017, some comment on Play store states issues for Android 10
sixaxis controller : can't find on Play store, last update found was 2017
B) If those example apps cannot get root permission, then prepare to do a clean flash, which will completely wipe data. Do backup of the data on your own.
