I wanted a launcher that immediately shows the installed apps and has an option to categorize them. As I couldn't find one I liked, I decided to make Fast Draw.
It's basically an app drawer without support for widgets (but it does support shortcuts) and it's somewhat configurable. That's about it, it's a pretty simple little launcher.
Please give it a try and leave a comment (I have only tested it on two devices so far, please let me know of anything unusual).

Very fluid on my Oneplus One, currently running the SultanXDA Cm14.1 ROM. All the pref settings seem to work, no problem at all. A very nice launcher for anyone wanting to get right down to business when they turn on their phone, and can do without all the eye-candy of transitions and tons of widgets. Perhaps you might consider enabling just one or two widgets sometime in the future for display on the Home category tab.. All in all, I believe it to be a great start, for what it is.
As far as attaching image files of any sort, I believe all you need to do is to scroll to the bottom of the message pane in the "Additional Options" section, and select "Attach Files" manage attachments. I'll give it a test here to confirm...
Nevermind, I see you figured it out...
Nice job :good:
Works on my tablet with android 5.0.1.
It would be great if we could place the apps freely (to have them organized in way comfortable for us), since it's simple and clean it runs very smooth. It feels like the screen is bigger ?.
My only "worry" is that it consumes more than default (launcher3) even though it has less stuff, so idk, hope to see how you improve this app~

Could you tell me the numbers? I also noticed that it consumed a lot more RAM, until checking launcher3's memory use in Android Studio, and noticing it's a much bigger number than it says on the phone. In Android Studio's monitor both apps seemed to use about the same amount (if not using widgets in launcher3). I don't know why there's a difference.

Numbers? (Sorry I'm not very experienced with android related stuff) but well, I checked the ram usage as soon as I went home and it was consuming around 20mb, whereas launcher 3 was consuming 15mb. The difference is not much but as a simple launcher I thought it would consume less.
Maybe making an option to add the apps like the "shortcut" option on old androids 2.3.6 (like, holding tap then finding the app) that way it doesn't have to load all the app icons on the tab of "unmoved apps" ).

Features:
- simple/advanced mode
- presets
- settings reapply on boot (no init file hacking, i use a service)
- pages/mb views
come on, check the main thread.
0.8.2b is released
0.9b is out, go get it
Thank you for the app.
I have a few suggestions:
-Presets are applied automatically without having to press apply. This is an inconvenient way to see what the settings are.
-The statistics should be uploaded before app exit when settings are finalized as opposed to each time a setting is applied. (When switching through presets this is a double whammy)
-When the keyboard is flipped on the G1 it resets, settings are applied, and the Start up dialog is displayed.
I have v .09
Keep up the good work!
This software is really a godsend. I've never bothered with most of the "Task Killer" programs for exactly the reason AutoKiller was created: Android already has a way to manage memory.
Never occurred to me that the parameters were adjustable though, so thanks for thinking of it and making a useful utility!
Can we exclude apps from being killed, such as the Alarm Clock, etc? Super important for those of us that want to keep out jobs
Clock shouldn't be killed by this automatic killer.
It should be one of the most important tasks on android.

I would like to know too. It keeps killing the email app. Hence I never got any email notifications after a while
I would imagine that the idea of "excluding" apps fro this doesn't make any sense or is even feasible, since it isn't artificially killing apps, rather it is adjusting when Android kills apps, I guess you could add some sort of "keep in memory" option like most new launcher apps have but I doubt the efficacy of those options nor do I know if they can be set via an outside app or whether that must be coded into the app itself...
If its killing off apps you need and use frequently, it sounds like you should lower your presets a notch or two. ie. Optimal instead of Strict

I'll hedge my bets on the Google engineers..
Thats fine, you do that. Some of us like that we can do as we wish with our phones to make them even faster.
Why would you even bother posting? Maybe iPhone is the device for you if you like things handed to you and you just take it? ;-)
Don't pick on the poor guy. I mean, come on-- he has like one of the only unrooted nexus one's in existence. That obviously makes him special in the shortbus sort of way and you simply cannot make fun of special people.
Oh, and I love autokiller. Keep up the good work, Ratson!

Yep, some people have real work to do with their phone, not install random things on it.. So far my "need to root" list is pretty short.
Shortbus.. Not even going to bother on that one.
I forgot, you're too busy trolling and making blackmoor uglier. If you don't like the guy's work, then gtfo because apparently several things are shorter than your list of reasons to root like your imagination, charm, and the micro mini between your legs that causes you to tear down legitimate work that apparently you don't understand. Google didn't engineer a one size fits all solution-- they created an ingenious flexible, scalable open source platform that could be modified into a near infinite combination of solutions to fit any need based on the requirements of oem, carrier, and the hardware itself.
Can we get back on the topic?, which is the app. not who like what how.

anyone knows how to exclude the alarmclock from the killing? I need it to wake me up.....
Updated and nicer
I once had an idea for this app, so i started learning Java to make it happen.
I had a need to keep important information from my clipboard at the front of my attention (e.g text message, email etc) so I added some features and the result is NClip

OMG, this is exactly the app i was looking for.
I had the idea of such an app for months!
Thanks for it!
the cat ran across the road?!
wow! m already starting to like this app,
xD
pretty cool,i've been looking for somthing like this.
Suggestions
This is a great great app and a really good idea.. but I wanna give you some suggestions. The GUI is messy and doesn't properly use space.
On the very top is the Clipboard entry area (this should be at the bottom as its not usually used) it occupies immediately 1/2 of the screen with a large area that is totally wasted. Then, if there are contents on the clipboard they are not displayed nicely in the window (really ugly).
Then because of large unused area for the clipboard, now the Custom entry are is hidden when the keyboard is pulled-up (which by the way should pop-up immediately and it doesn't). Then if I want to add an icon, that menu selection is at the very bottom, so I have to close the keyboard to get there and, that menu doesn't have icon previews, just bullets (it needs icon previews as like the PICK ICON menu item). Finally the NOTE CUSTOM MESSAGE is at the very bottom (worse place), needs to be at the top.
All this makes a single entry an endless effort of way too many clicks to get anything done. I'm on a 7" Galaxy Tab. Look at the screenshots and get inspired
Finally, for this app to make ANY SENSE, it needs to be AS EASY TO ACCESS AS THE NOTES IT CREATES!!!!!!!!!! So, make it run as a hidden notification so it can be pulled down from the taskbar and activated (like the app Clipper - Clipboard manager for example.. you can check it out on the market if you are not sure what I mean)
Really nice app though. I want to love it.. you just need to make it right now
I've already added some features to the program, including the short cut you suggested, just my keystore is 100+ miles away on my desktop so I cant yet publish the update (its been sitting around for over a month).
I have also updated the gui, it shows only what is relevant at a given moment and keyboard no longer poses an issue on my nexus s, literally the app has everything you want (its just not published), i'm working on it

havok123, thanks for the feedback, this is great news! I didn't mean at all to be harsh or overly criticizing.. think your app is truly fantastic and therefor I just would like it you to get it perfect! I'm happy you decided to learn Java just to program this... totally worth it!
When you have an update for the or if you want me to help you beta test/trouble shoot an updated version, post the info here on the thread or PM me. Id love to help you if I can.
Keep up the great work and when its perfect make a paid version. It will be worth it and I think many people would buy it. You can definitely count me in and your work should be rewarded!
Just uploaded update finally.
Updated to 3.0
Changelog:
What's in this version:
N Clip Shortcut
Edit notifications on click
Updated GUI
Bug fixes
Great update, interface much more workable & cleaner.
One suggestion that immediately comes 2mind is, get rid of the sticky app icon that shows up on taskbar when selecting the enable shortcut option. No ned & cluttery. IfU add a note without chooding custom icon, now there are DOUBLE app icons on the taskbar being displayed one of which is NOT a note.. very confusing and unecessary.
If the enable shortcut opion is chosen, we know its there in the pulldown menu already, thats enough &keeps taskbar cleaner for actual notifications only
going to get on it over christmas break xD
Task'd is the premiere task manager and to-do list app for Android™ devices. It was designed with the user in mind to be beautiful, functional, and simple. The goal is to help you, the user, better manage your priorities and schedule.
The user interface is intuitive, with clearly marked and recognizable icons. Everything is right at your fingers, not hidden inside some obscure menu or tab. Editing a task is as simple as clicking it in the main list. Want to delete a task? Just long-press it and click delete.
Each task you create must have a name and a priority. Optionally, it can also have a due date and a description containing more details.
You can sort your tasks by priority (default), due date, order added, and alphabetically. You can also change the date format if you use a different standard than the default MM-DD-YYYY.
The full version of Task'd also includes a 4x1 homescreen widget that allows you to see all your tasks, or create a new one.
The free version will always remain one update behind the full version. Currently, it is only lacking the widget. Once the full version receives an update, the free version will get the widget, but not the new features. Bug fixes will still be rolled out as necessary.
Of course, the obligatory screenshots are attached at the end of the post. As for the QR codes with Market links:

Android is a trademark of Google Inc.
Does it sync with google tasks?
Currently no, however sync with Google Tasks and proper Honeycomb support are the next two things on my list.
Really liking the look of this, am constantly on the lookout for a nicer task manager.
I love the simplistic approach and UI. One suggestion might be an option to turn off the custom font? It is pretty funky but a little overwhelming on the eyes when used everywhere..
Also like your idea of keeping the free version one behind the paid, an approach I haven't seen before Looking forward to see what the widget it like, if Im still using this in a couple of days will definitely get the pro version. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely add in an option for the custom font. I can't get rid of it everywhere (specifically the buttons) but the option will let you ditch it in the task list and the edit/create screen.
I believe I've only seen the free behind paid model one or two other times, and I really liked it. It lets users see what they're getting in its entirety, yet still give them an incentive to upgrade.
Is there a way to sync between two users? Like myself and my girlfriend are looking for a syncing task list so we can put to-dos for each other without any manual effort.

If you set up Google Tasks sync with the same email account in the app, then they'll sync between devices. You don't need to use the same Google account on the phone itself, or on other devices, only when you set up sync in Task'd. I'll be sure to update this post once I get it updated.

A new launcher for Android is available as a beta version. Simple Launcher enables to access all the main functionalities in maximum two clicks. It very easy to use and doesn’t need any configuring except wallpaper.
The lower icons give direct acces to the main functions like camera, music player or internet browser. A simplified parameter screen enables to access quickly to the phone setup
The top line gives access to selected applications pages. While calling an application, if this one is not installed on the phone, it is proposed to install it with Android Market
This Launcher is very different from the other available launchers, all working on the same model. They are very powerful in term of tuning. To be able to use them needs at least to have been initiated. The version 1.0 Beta works without advertisement till the first of February and is available on the Market
Upgrade:
Version Beta 2:
Add a navigation bar
Improving ergonomy
Improving Speed
Optimizing application size
Version 1.1
Correction of permissions in order to improve the number of compatible phones

It's good, but IMO there's a lot of work in front of developer.
First bug I've noticed:
In "phone setup" (2nd screenshot) I cannot access "Data mode" settings - I see notice with:
Code:
android.settingsDATA_ROAMING_SETTINGS
Other options work well.
Right now I'll stay with Zeam
Wow this looks really slick!
thanks like theese minimalistic things!

I have made a new version available on the same link on the market which should be compatible with more phone.
Thank you for your help
Thanks, I can download it now. Still doesn' t appear on market search from pc though(didn't check it from device)
I like the concept and ui but I'm not sure why I'd want a launcher that shows me a bunch of apps that I don't have installed and then asks me to install 2/3rds of what I click on. It's basically spam in the form of a launcher.
A new version with improved speed and size is now available. Thank you for your feed back
Since years i was quite baffled that even most third-party launchers were refusing to offer a way to display frozen apps in a distinguishable way but i was never bothered to do any actual research into why and if there might be something out there that does it.
Today i was finally having enough and tried searching google for a solution with no avail. Only a stackexchange question that resulted in a definition war rather than pointing to solutions and a reddit thread from 9 months ago with no upvotes and no answer.
Thanks to the mentioned stackexchange question i downloaded Nova Launcher today and tried that, but although i really like the design, performance and customizability it does not seem to offer the key feature i was looking for.
What the launcher i'm searching for should offer:
A toggle to enable showing frozen apps in the app drawer (Like actually "pm disable" frozen, not some kind of workaround island type or greenified "hibernated")
When device rooted, tapping a frozen app will unfreeze and start it
When device unrooted it should just open the manage app screen for that device where android itself will offer an unfreeze button
Customizability; Show frozen apps semi-translucent, Show frozen apps in grayscale, Move frozen apps to the bottom of the list or in its own section/group
I forgot to mention that Lucky Patcher actually offers custom widgets to toggle apps but that has to be done manually for every app and is quite lacking in terms of looks and comfort
One last thing; I was even thinking about manually syncing the shortcuts via something like Tasker or Automagic4Android. But to be honest, even if it worked it would still be jank and more of a workaround than a solution

Never heard of or seen anything like that in my almost 10 years on this site and other sites, I'm pretty sure you won't find anything that can natively do what you want, you will probably have to end up settling for "janky workarounds".
interesting...and I was happy with Shortcut Maker apk lol
SDmaid still needs 4 taps to freeze/unfreeze apps while Andoid does that in about same number of taps. There is so much more customization that can be asked from Andoid.
