I own a Lenovo a390. It shares everything with the Micromax a110 Canvas 2-processor, ram, chipset, Android version etc.
And there are many recoveries available for Canvas 2; I want to try this one-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204785
So, my question is: The only difference being screen size (insignificant) and OS builds, can the recovery hurt the stock Android ROM which Lenovo has provided? Just asking because maybe the recovery may be optimised to work with Micromax's build of Canvas 2.

I am using Suvi ROM V16 on my Micromax device a110 , its really awesome ROM i can feel the smoothness of the ROM in my hand while using the phone.
I need some fix or changes required on this ROM ;
1. On Call screen need to be changed to any new version not stock Micromax
2. Lock screen edit option like adding camera and messaging options in there? Ans : It can be done using Gravity box application.
3.Can i get some designed icon pack as well?
4. After installing the patches the lock screen sound not working can you please help me on it?
Can anyone please tell me where i can find these pathces for my device and also how to install those.

Credits to the guy from the forum 4pda.ru .... that modified the lib.

That's available for like 3 or 4 months now, all he did was hex editing that lib, mainly the last lines concerning camera type .
Also that lib, is available on my ZTE v970 4.2.2 Rom since he release it.

i have manually hex edited this lib to replace OV8825AF with FM50AF and BU64AF.
and i had always said (in 4.2.2 dev thread), if there is no kernel possible (for canvas music) then we need to edit framework files or patch the cam libs.
adding more to this, the fix you just posted do not fix af for canvas music (do not know about other mt6577)

Your file fixed the autofocus problem, but it made the front cam on my phone get no thumbnails(the one where you take a picture, then a few seconds a greed color appears on the screen). Is there a way to fix that?

two different mobiles having same chipset, does it means that rom or custum rom or kernel made for one will also work in another?
or we have to modify them?
for example Wiko Darkmoon, Karbonn Machfive, Micromax A106 Unite 2 all have Mediatek MT6582 chip, so can we flash another mobile rom on another easily or with little modification?

You have to modify(I,e port) before flashing a ROM for dffnrt phone even though you have the same chipset.
The same goes for kernel which is located in the boot.IMG ,one would have to unpack the boot.IMG of your phone and also the one you want to port and replace zimage/kernel from your boot.img to port boot.img

okay, just wanna ask one more thing that Wiko Darkmoon and Micromax unite 2 both have same chip i.e. mt6582 and both supports USB host mode, so kernels of these two mobiles would be useful in anyway to add USB host support in Karbonn Machfive which do not supports by default?
If yes then can u please suggest me tools and procedure for doing this.

You can't make use of another phones kernels, the best you can you do is make custom kernel for your phone that supports the things you want (this I don't know ,I usually search 4pda for this)
As for porting ,tools needed will be
1)a setted up android kitchen-decompiling boot.img (thers a relatively eaiser way ,look up on darkcyanide devs)
2)winrar or the like for extracting
3)base rom-the ROM which you port from(stock or other custom ROM already made for your phone)
4)port ROM which is the ROM you want to make usable for your phone model(ROMs with same kernel version and same chipsets will do )sometimes you can cross port eg 6582 to 6592.
Basically what your doing is extracting both base and port ROM ,replacing some files and zipping it back to a .zip and flashing in recovery.
There are many guides for this in xda so I won't go further.
Do feel free to ank if you find some bugs or have trouble understanding.

hello i have a micromax a106 ,i tried to flash it with sp tool (format+download) but after format it shows some error. after trying 4 or 5 versions it is still dead. After that i got to know that it was a copy of micromax a106, not original. i just need the flash file. it had mt6572 processor. please help me ..........

Luckily i have Micromax A106 MT6572 (china clone) stock firmware files, ready to flash from SPFLASH tool. if U want i can provide..
