Urgent: VSCO eating up all storage space on my Moto G phone. Please help!!!! - General Topics

I transferred all my images from phone gallery to VSCO on my Moto G 4 plus. Since then I have been extremely troubled as VSCO has eaten up all my storage space. I extended my storage space by 32 GB thinking that I could transfer my 4000 photos to the external card. But it is not allowing that either. And my phone constantly shows No storage space, despite putting 32 GB external card. I have deleted everything including Whatsapp. This is so heart rendering. I love VSCO but the trauma it is putting me through for the past few days is seriously not funny. Can anyone please help.

[Q] Limited Internal Storage

Hi,
I got a device that has the 8GB of space but its internal storage for apps etc is only 1GB, leaving the other 5GB up unused. See the picture attached. It also follow that you cannot install more apps as it is filled quickly.
Is there anyway to work around this?
thanks

novice storage question

Hey guys,
I would like to buy 16GB version, but it's on long delay on Moto site and I need to ship this phone to my nieces in Ukraine by the end of August. So I bought 8GB version from Amazon to play with it and see how it works and really love the phone. The storage is the only sour point. 8 GB just does not cut it and Moto does not allow to use SD card storage for app installation. Moving apps to SD card works only for some apps and even then most of the storage being used is Internal, so 3-4 large games and this phone would be out of storage.
Is there is a way to force apps to install fully to SD card? Root + App2SD maybe? I do not have much experience with rooting and would like to avoid it, if possible due to desire to stay on OTA updates schedule.
Any advise?
To be honest rooting is your best bet for an optimal experience. I'm using CM and this phone can move more apps of you install the smaller version of google apps if it is really a big problem your only bet is to order the 16 and wait.
Transfer app to SD Card to free up space
Currently, there seems no tool can help you to move apps to SD card to free up space, but there indeed tools can be used to transfer photos, pictures, music, videos, contacts etc. to the SD card. If you are interest in it, you can read some tutorial for help
Transferring music and photos works wonderfully. And Google Play Music as well as Google Photos supports saving files on SD Card as default which makes it even easier to manage your storage. The apps though is a huge issue. I installed yesterday Walking Dead and it ate more then 1GB of storage of the puny 3GB available out of the box. Add here the app cache as well as storage required to do OTA updates and you really will struggle to install any large apps on the phone without running in 'out of memory' error messages.
The phone is wonderful otherwise - light, bright screen with excellent auto-dimming, good speaker and even better camera, responsive, waterproof (yes, I tested ), pure Lollipop Android experience , etc. etc.

Constant lack of internal storage

My wife has an 8gb Moto G and it's showing that at the moment has used 7.05gb of that.
3.15 GB is on the Android OS (just updated to 6.0) and 3.90gb has somehow been used on apps? All that's on it is the likes of Whatsapp and Facebook and I moved all photos/videos onto ext sd card. Is there any way to free up some space, I've tried CCleaner but it won't make anymore room.
It's a constant struggle clearing ****e and trying to make a measly few hundred mb spare just so the phone doesn't lag too much.
It's totally stock phone.
Anyone offer some advice please.....

Save WhatsApp media to SD card and Galley items

Am still losing storage space on my S7. I regularly clear my cache (often more than once a day), I keep clearing my WhatsApp messages and media from my Internal drive.
I have moved as many of my apps that I can to my SD card.
I use an S7 Edge with 32gb internal hard drive of which I have only 14GB left and this keeps reducing my 0.1 GB daily.
Software is Android 7 (nougat)
any other solutions?
thank you
ozomedia
Without root there's no way for WhatsApp at the moment, same for obb files. (I can't think of anything else what may take up so much space)
Thanks for the advice but am I the person that seems to be losing internal drive space so rapidly ?

Lg g5 not moving apps

I have a gold tmobile LG g5 that I just got second hand. Not rooted or modified in any way, and I have a Samsung micro sd 32gb class 10. Normally you can go to storage, format, and format as internal, but here it just says format as portable. And I can't move apps to it. Is this normal
If you're still following this thread, Most apps (due to the way they're written) won't run from the SD card, so the developers turn that option off (so that they don't have to answer all the "how come your app stopped working after I moved it to my SD card?" questions). Besides, you don't move the app, you move small pieces of it, and there's a link left in internal storage pointing to each piece. Many times that results in the links taking up more total space than the app, so you actually lose storage space.
Adoptable storage (using the SD card as internal storage) was actually developed for those little 8GB phones. (After loading the OS, the recovery partition and the download partition, there's not much space left for apps.) I've been running a 32GB phone for over 4 years now, I'm a software develop, a software junky and I help people with app problems [so I install a lot of apps just to see what the problem is, then I forget to uninstall them] and at the moment, I have 20.88GB available in internal storage - Of course I don't keep a lot of 6GB movies on the phone, but if you do, you can store over 40 full-length movies on one 256GB card - and that's what should be on the SD card - videos, music, documents, etc - anything that's not an app [oe widget, which is the same thing]).
