I saw Windows under that brackets, that's what got my attention in the first place hahahh
I hope you can integrate the ability to control the screen from the computer. Vysor Chrome extension is great for that, but these guys have ruined it now with their premium feature thingy ...
And Windows' Connect Application in windows 10 doesn't have ability to control the phone.

It already has the option to control the screen from linux but not on windows since I forked it from an abandoned project... I managed to port and I'm using it on Win 8.1 64bit but it's lagging right now with a lot of bugs..
I'll post the testing Win version and source later on and see if anyone could help

https://01.org/android-ia/documentation
Required materials:
•1GB or larger USB thumb drive
•A supported target device
•A laptop or PC running Linux, Windows, or Mac OS with working internet connection
Step 1: Back up your existing OS and all data on your device. The Android-IA installer will erase everything and repartition your hard drive automatically.
Step 2: Download the latest installer image for your device from the Downloads page.
Step 3: Prepare the USB thumb drive
Linux users:
•Unzip the downloaded file: `unzip your_installer_file.zip'
•Insert the USB thumb drive into your machine
•Open your terminal application and find the device name of the thumb drive. Run `dmesg' and look near the end for a name like "/dev/sdX" where X is a letter.
•Unmount any partitions that were automatically mounted: `sudo umount /dev/sdX*' (Where X is the letter from above)
•Write the live.img file from the extracted zip to the USB flash: `sudo dd if=live.img of=/dev/sdX bs=1M conv=fsync' (Where X is the letter from above)
Windows users:
•Extract the installer image from the downloaded zip file
•Download "Image Writer" application from https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/ and extract it to a folder of your chioce.
•Insert your USB drive into your computer.
•Find the drive letter of your USB drive by opening 'My Computer' on the desktop.
•Run Win32DiskImager.exe from Image Writer's directory.
•In Image Writer's window, select the installer.img you extracted from the downloaded zip
•In Image Writer's window, select your thumb drive's letter that you found in 'My Computer'
•Click "Write" and wait until the process is over.
Mac users:
•Extract the installer image from the downloaded zip file
•Open the Terminal (under Utilities)
•Execute `diskutil list' to get the current list of devices
•Insert your USB drive into your computer.
•Execute `diskutil list' again and determine the device node assigned to your flash media (e.g. /dev/diskN)
•Execute `diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN'
•Execute `sudo dd if=live.img of=/dev/diskN bs=1m'
•Execute `diskutil eject /dev/diskN' and remove your flash media when the command completes.
Step 4: Prepare device for installation:
•Set the device to boot from the USB thumb drive (device-specific instructions can be found on the devices page.
•Make sure "UEFI Boot Support" is enabled in the BIOS.
Step 5: Install the system.
• Plug in the USB thumb drive with the Android-IA installer image created in step 1
• Power on the device
• From the boot menu, choose "Install Android to hard disk"
• Wait until the installer finishes
• Unplug the USB thumb drive
• Power off the device by holding down on the power button for 10 sec., then power on the device and choose "Boot Android system" (or let the countdown timer expire)
You're done! Enjoy your Android-IA device.

Hello.
I installed the latest Android-IA (android-4.2.2_r1-ia1) on my Acer Iconia W700, and it works perfectly. The only downside (however, huge one) is the lack of libhoudini - without it half of android apps refuse to load on x86 processor. Which, by the way, scores ~70000 in Antutu (!)...
I searched everywhere, but there's just too little information on both libhoudini as well as Android-IA . Please, can anyone help in porting this library to Android-IA? I know it is not open source, but so are gapps, and Android-x86 already uses libhoudini. So there shouldn't be any real difficulties...

Hi there
I'd also be glad to hear more about that...From what I could gather so far, there is no fully working ARM translator / libhoudini solutions for android IA. Hence the only solution would be to switch to android x86...
Change dpi and get bluetooth working with android and windows 8.1 at the same time
Do these changes if you are confident in your skills. I'm student and quite busy so if you ask something it can take some time for me to answer. Damages you might do to your system are your own responsibility. I have tested these instructions with Acer W700 on android-4.2.2_r1-ia3 and can confirm that they worked for me.
First changing dpi from original 213 to 160:
1. Get file manager on android like ES file Explorer
2. R/W rights to whole system on android
3. From root go to /system/etc/machine-props/
4. Open acer-w700.prop with ES Explorer and edit line "ro.sf.lcd_density = 213" and change 213 to 160
5. Reboot android and system should now be 160 dpi
Now about that bluetooth. I find it annoying that you have to pair your bluetooth mouse and keyboard again every time when you switch between android and windows 8.1. So I did research and found a way to fix this problem and here's how to do it. I can confirm that this works with Acer bluetooth/cover keyboard and MS Sculpt touch mouse.
1. Pair your bluetooth devices first with android and the with Windows
2. On Windows download PsExec
3.Then from downloaded file copy PsExec.exe in Windows to directory C:\Windows\System32 or to directory where your System32 folder is.
4. Write in the search cmd and run it as administrator
5. Then use command: psexec -s -i regedit.exe
6. Now go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Keys
7. From \Keys you can find your paired bluetooth devices. First there is the devices bluetooh mac address and 32 numbers long linkkey. Now write those linkeys and mac addresses up or copy them.
8. Now everything is set on Windows side. Next boot to android.
9. On android you need again for example ES file Explorer and R/W rights
10. With file Explorer fro root go to /data/misc/bluedroid/
11. Open file called BT_config.xml
12. From text find your devices using mac address
13. When you find you devices mac addres scroll down and you should see line with linkkey and 32 number code.
14. Now take that 32 number code you got from Windows
15 You have to change it little so the linkey works and here how it's done:
for example your Windows linkkey is "12345678qwertyuiasdfghjkpoiuytre" now set it as 8 number clusters like this
"12345678 qwertyui asdfghjk poiuytre"
Now you have to reverse those 8 number clusters
Take the set on far right "poiuytre" and mark it like this "po iu yt re"
Now reverse those pairs like this "re yt iu po"
Now "reytiupo" this is the first line in the new linkkey
Do the same for other three cluster. After it's done this example linkkey looks like this "reytiupojkghdfasuityerqw78563412"
16. When you have your modified Windows linkkey ready you can just replace the old one from the file BT_config.xml
17. Now just reboot android and your keyboard and mouse should work.
I've found that sometimes when switching from Windows to android bluetooth doesn't connect. Just reboot android and your bluetooth devices should connect.
I would have posted this on deveopers site where people visit more often but you need 10 posts and this is my first one so if you can you should link my post there so more people can enjoy these instructions.
Thank you for reading this and don't forget to like it :good:
Anyone know where to find the source code for this?

Problems: (in order of what makes me angry)
- Icon theme RED Icon network manager-- Fix here (sorry)

- Auto usb mount
- Cheap usb network adaptors driver installed dm9601
- Play, Next and back hot keys talk directly with gnome-mplayer.. So play your mp3s with that

Unpacks to 2.4gb on disk (Likely there is more cleaning I can do to move not needed files to make it smaller)
What is says on the box
Includes everything so you can point and shoot
Working fine::
-modules,WiFi,touchpad,touchegg,sound etc..
Ok here we go:
User: tf101
Password is: ubuntu
-please change this for your own piece of mind
HOW TO:
In Android..
Rename your current linuxroot if you have one using mv
Download and unpack into /data/linuxroot
Comannds:
Code:
su
busybox mount -o remount,rw /
--Rename old Linuxroot
mv /data/linuxroot /data/linuxroot-old
mkdir /data/linuxroot
chmod 755 /data/linuxroot
cd /data/linuxroot
tar -pxvzf /pathto/tf101-14.04-xubuntu-armhf.tar.gz
busybox mount -o remount,ro /
(This will take bloody ages maybe 40mins+ ... Go have a few coffees) - its faster if your going from micro SD
Reboot and you should be away
If you have any issues just delete /data/linuxroot and mv your old one back
The first time it maybe a bit slow to get going... Just wait... You maybe need to start without dock attached
-second boot should be better..
Problems:
Mine always loads with root file system needs to be checked.. Can get past it by pressing i ... I tried scanning it with the tools in this thread.. But no love for me.. I tired also formatting /data still coming up
As this is a 14.04 build it can't include the nvidia drivers.. So that's not so fun... I am planning to build a 12.04.4 one soon ... Maybe someone has a solution ? Last time I tried to get it working I had to reinstall
Also HDMI does not work.. I am guessing because the nvidia drivers are not installed..
Brightness buttons.. See post 41 - for a hack
Its in the Australia time zone use this to fix for you:
sudo dpkg --configure tzdata
Maybe Audio maybe not work in some apps... I tired to fix up pulseaudio .. By removing it... Anyway audio is working for me with mplayer -ao alsa something.wav
your may need to run alsamixer and enable speaker (3rd tab along) press M to enable it
Performance notice while using firefox chrome etc.. Using ABP helps speed uploading time for pages and helps using pages... Otherwise your loading flashy, gifs other useless things that slow down your TAB
Workaround for the below:
Screen saver turns screen off - This is very annoying -- You can turn off the screen saver or wait for me to fix it
If it goes black and you can turn it back on do this: Pressing power button first (screen will go a little bright).... Then ctrl + alt (search) then f1 (the second key along the top) .. Then alt+ Ctrl and f7 -- And then screen will be back........
see page 2 post 1 for fix for this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50399357&postcount=1
I have some code I am working on to get the power bind to do what we just did - will have a fix that can be easily applied
If anyone wants to have a look:
https://github.com/djdill/TF101/tree/hotkeys
... Yes I know I am not using git right
Super thanks to:
@jrohwer - for making / hacking together this kernel.. That makes this all possible

Nice I think you can rename your thread to be more general and add more img ? What do you think ?
( I mean like a img repository for rootbind kernel )
I'll try to do a img with different DE and things.
Thanks for your work anyway, really appreciated !
BTW, x3maniac, if you read this, glad to see you again around here
For our discussion about 13.10 and 12.04, I think I'll make a 13.10 then, like this we got plenty of choice Nvidia driver are supported until 13.10, and not supported anymore since 14.04

@Kingzak34 Good idea! .. OK so I have renamed it now.. let me know what you think.. If you can thank of a better name.. Just paste it and I will change it
OK didn't know about the support up until 13.10.. I was never able to get it to work past 12.10.. Maybe I am doing something wrong.. I was looking and your thread about installing the drivers.. Or is it better just to do it via the software centre?
Somehow I magically fixed the libgl.... Its even fixed in the tar.gz that I uploaded .... Don't know how I did that.. But now I can run Midori (browser).. Faster then FF on the tablets and lighter
I am going to be building more from Monday.. I want to get more fixed with this image (I think it can start quicker and fix some of the errors in syslog)
And I want to fully remove pulseaudio and get ALSA working by default .. Currently in the img.. Audioapps are trying to load to pulseaudio... Even when its full removed.... NFI why that is happening.. anyway more fun time fixing
Oh and the screen fixes for idle .. never turn the screen off correctly
re x3maniac he PMed me a few times today! He working on a another kernel ... But he does not have much free time so its likely going to be a long process .. Anyway this kernal appears to be working fine for me..

For 13.10, the better way to get nvidia driver is through software center I think. But you maybe right, maybe 12.04 as LTS version can be better, I'll try too.
Anyway, thanks for your work, I'll try to do some too, when I'll got more free time

For whatever reason I could not get the 12.04 core to upgrade to 12.04.4 .. My next plan to to use the pre installed desktop image and roll the 12.04.4 over the top and see how much it breaks .... Then it will be current LTS with support for a little while longer.... If they fixed (didn't drop nivida support) in 14.04 it would be perfect

The ability to install nvidia drivers depends on whether nvidia will release the appropriate versions. It depends on the Xorg video abi, which has to match the version that is installed on your system. (Ubuntu 13.10 is abi-14, 14.04 is abi-15). Abi-14 has been released so there is an nvidia-tegra package in Ubuntu 13.10. It remains to be seen whether nvidia will release the abi-15 driver for ventana (tegra2 cpus). Even if Ubuntu does not provide the package you can still download the driver from Nvidia directly and install it yourself.
https://developer.nvidia.com/linux-tegra-rel-16
(Read at the bottom - Additional software).
I would revisit this page once 14.04 has been "officially released" and if nvidia provides the binary driver for abi-15 then that should be no problem.
I don't think they will as stated in 16.3 changelog ventana driver will not be updated in future release
R16.3
Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Support
U-Boot is officially supported
This is the final release supporting Ventana. T20 support will not be included in future releases.

Sure, but they have updated the abi-14 support for 16.3 after its release (see Additional Software), this is not a new release of the drivers, it is just providing updated xorg abi support. So that may well happen for abi-15 as well.

Black screen hack
...After lots of googling and head banging I managed to get a fix for the black screen... Its a hell of a hack.. But for now I am running with it..
So what is happening when the screen goes black is the keyboard and touchpad stop responding (don't think I can fix that)
So we use the power button soft press to get the screen back, but it still stays black... (little bit of brightness can be seen after pressing) - After that the keyboard and touchpad work.. OK good... so then we use ALT CTRL F1 then back to F7.. yah back to it.. But thats too much pressing in my mind.. So I have got this below commands to so that work..
Some other background to this.. Lubuntu and use another config to bind commands so its a little easier but Xubuntu uses xfce what is harder
SO you don't have to wait for your screensaver you can use this to test:
xset dpms force off
---Steps
sudo apt-get install xbinekeys
xbindkeys --defaults > /home/tf101/.xbindkeysrc
vim /home/tf101/.xbindkeysrc
Add the below to the file just below line 51 or just below this: control + b:2
Code:
# turn screen back on agian
"/usr/bin/turnscreenon"
m:0x0 + c:124
Then:
sudo vim /usr/bin/turnscreenon
Code:
echo "ubuntu" | sudo -S chvt 1
wait 1190
echo "ubuntu" | sudo -S chvt 7
sudo chmod a+x /usr/bin/turnscreenon
I also needed to remove all the commands on line 124 in this file and log out and back in
vim .Xmodmap
-----
There must be a better way of doing this.. As this requires your user password ... to run SUDO..
I sure there is a clean way of getting around the blackscreen bug.. But I can't get it fixed with my skill set so this workaround I am sticking with for now...
I'm just starting trying your IMG, will give you some feedback when I can

The abi15 drivers have also not yet been released for the latest Linux for Tegra R17.1 from Nvidia (which only supports Tegra4 devices). So I would not write this off completely yet. If they release them for 17.1 but not for 16.3 then that would be the final nail in the coffin I guess...

See phone's battery status on computer screen

I have made a program to display the percentage of your phone on your computer. Requirements:
[*]Computer that can run bash - Linux WILL work, Mac might.
[*]USB-to-phone cable
[*]ADB enabled on phone
Has been tested on the following:
LG P716 Jelly bean stock- One Works the other doesn't
LG P716 KitKat - Works
LG P500 with CM11 (by mukulsoni)and rooted- Works
Samsung S3 stock - Doesn't work
HTC One S (Thanks LS.xD)
Samsung Galaxy Ace II (Thanks LS.xD)
To run, use
Code:
cd,
to navigate to the folder containing the files then the Terminal folder. After that run
Code:
./BatteryStatus.sh
Your help is greatly appreciated to porting it to Windows/Mac and adding new devices. If you have got screenshots or working devices, feel free to tell me or pm me about these. I will add them to this list.

I'll give other linux versions a try later this day helping you to figure out on which linux environments it works. Read out the battery level (with terminal) works on both of my phones, so you could add them to the supported list as found in my signature.
On 32bit Linux Mint KDE: CMD + GUI (find all libs but crashes) work with both phones. So the error occured as the 32bit libs can't be handled correctly on a 64bit os for GTK even with multiarch activated.

The graphics is done through Zenity. I just checked, Zenity has problems running on 64-bit systems. You might want to try installing zenity like this:
Code:
sudo apt-get install zenity:i386
and then changing the code in the .sh file from ./zenity to zenity. Might work, might not. My computers are all 32-bit.

JDownloader runs in Raspberry Pi and a bunch of other SBCs and NAS devices which are mostly ARM and run Linux. So I guess it's doable?
LibreOffice can now be installed on a PinePhone running PostmarketOS. The Pocophone F1 is faster than the first PinePhone. To have LibreOffice on a PostmarketOS Poco F1 would be highly desirable.
An Instruction how to install LibreOffice on a PinePhone with PostmarketOS can be found on my personal website. The instruction can eventually be used to install LibreOffice on a PostmarketOS Poco F1:

It's not that complicated actually, try to follow this after installing pmbootstrap:
postmarketOS - Mate
-pmbootstrap init
-pmbootstrap install
-pmbootstrap flasher flash_rootfs --partition userdata
-Fist thing that I recommend after installation is to move the top bar to the bottom due to the notch covering it, than you can persoalise as you want.
Display
set display scaling to 200%, apply and logout
On our pocof1 I don't recommend yet to change screen rotation unless you know what you are doing, turning the screen to landscape via the displays settings will make your touch screen not follow the screen rotation and you will have hard time to put it back.
Store app
-Install "Discover" store (sudo apk add discover)
-sudo apk update, to make Discovery work you should open a KDE installation link from web browser or "Discover" will close itself when opened (e.g. search for kde clock on google and open the first link "Clock - KDE Applications") hit the "Install on linux blue icon" hit open link and Discover will open, this time you will have lots of apps available.
obs: launch apps from Discovery does not work however you can uninstall apps from it.

Since postmarketos is Linux, not Android, you'll either need to use the web whatsapp version or run it through Waydroid
