I'm not here for anything more than to say good on you two XDA members, @jerrycoffman45 and @blane3298 who responded to the OP.
I see more and more unfriendly, uncool and typically completely unhelpful responses to questions that are similar to the OP's. Which is understandable in certain cases but ultimately it does no one any good.
I admit I clicked on the thread expecting to see a mess which sadly makes me a bit of the ambulance chaser type I guess...
Back to my point I did not see anything close to what I have been seeing a lot of lately. You guys are to be commended. You easily could have fallen in line with the norm and been, oh for lack of a better and still anti-inflammatory word very offputting? Instead you just stated facts and gave a little direction.
Good on you

Didnt know if anyone happened to see this today or not...HTC CEO announced no more locked bootloaders on upcoming HTC phones. not sure if this will impact the 2.20 update or if AT&T will allow it but, nice none the less
sorry cant post links, but the article is on techspot . com
They said the same thing before....I won't hold my breath

Yeah that statement sounds awfully familiar
I'll believe it when I see it.
Nothing I can find on tech spot regarding htc and bootloader except for last year's lie.
their ceo is high everytime he releases such statement, dont believe him.
omg again? lol he said the same thing last year and they locked them down even more

I'm thinking you read an old article. I searched techspot and like gunny, all I found was last years announcement that they failed to make good on.
Was this the article you read? You should really learn to check the dates on these things- http://www.techspot.com/news/43977-htc-ceo-says-future-phones-will-be-more-root-friendly.html

Hi guys! I have a question: is the D850 model simlocked to AT&T? Sorry if this question has been answered before but I want to be completely sure because I have a great deal of buying one but I wonder if it will be working here, with Polish operators. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the fast reply but the problem is that I am going to buy it from aliexpress and honestly I assume that they aren't unlocking them. But if I would buy It directly and new from the Carrier itself, It would be locked yeah?
Cheers
Edit. Okay, I have educated myself on that topic, thx for all
Anyone know what the Verizon developer edition is even worth these days? Can't find any on swappa or eBay. Seems like this is the last unlocked Samsung phone that Verizon released. Before I sell mine, I just want to know what I could get for it.

I know it's a late reply but they seemed to be fetching around $250 USD when I was looking a month ago. I cannot remember the model now but on an actual developer phone under the battery the model number is different so make sure you put that full model number in the title of your listing on whatever site you use.
I just threw mine up on eBay with a best offer option since I really have no idea what it's worth. I'm gonna let it sit there until I get what I feel is a reasonable price.

Dude, we really need your device for development right now. Some devs are close to unlocking the bootloader. Use this thread to generate a dump. Then upload the files to a public place. Please! All we need is the tar file with aboot.mbn.

Makes perfect sense that while I'm trying to sell my device, I would render it worthless or decrease the value and make it equal to all the other Verizon S5 phones by unlocking their bootloaders...

You think dumping would negatively affect your phone? You really don't get it, you selfish tosser. Welcome to blocksville...
Lol you guys in this thread dont get it. He doesn't owe us anything. It would however greatly benefit all of us if it were released though.
Same thing when the video of the b/l being unlocked by Beaups
Thread Closed
Closing this before it gets out of hand.
Some of you may remember me from the unlock Bootloader thread. I thought I got close a couple times but never had success.
Verizon also offers the OnePlus 8 pro with the customary locked bootloader. One of the users in that forum has figured out how to unlock the bootloader, but his method is not being made public. Don't ask why but there are obvious reasons why to not make it public and I understand and somewhat agree.
Anyway if anyone still has the Verizon pixel 3 XL and is still interested in bootloader unlocking you may want to reach out to the user and this thread. I don't know if he has something that will work on the pixel or not, but he may share knowledge or point somebody in the right direction

Slightly off topic but due to the fact there's no subsidized phones anymore why would anybody put money in Verizon's pocket. Locked boot loader or not I will never buy another phone from their store as long as I live!

Apparently his method will not work for our phone
Well, it was worth a shot. Did he divulge any info or just say it won't work? I was unable to get any details......

Yes, that's what I was thinking.. Was going to try and get some info from him, but he was extremely short with his reply so I didnt feel like he was going to give me anything... Especially since my post count is so low and it doesn't look like I am very active.
Have you tried to get any details from him? He might give you a little more?
He seemed to not want to share with me either, which is his choice and right to not do so. First time I asked his reply was, and I quote, "It won't work on the Pixel".
Sent from my IN2025 using Tapatalk
Aww man I wish he would give us a hint on how he did it. It must be something that can be adaptable to our freaking locked phone. Or at least worth a shot to try.
Anyone had any luck contacting him again?
Does anyone know how to unlock the bootloader? Or does anyone have the source to root a galaxy note 20 ultra (snapdragon)? I've seen the link saying why someone did it but it doesn't explain how they did it, or where. I understand i might have to pay but honestly it's worth it.

Currently, the only way is via that method. It's done through an unlocking method that only they're able to do. Otherwise, it would have been discussed by now

You've got to search around for it, it's not really meant to be posted or talked about since it's a paid service and XDA isn't really about paid services...

SamPWND unlocks bootloader on Snapdragon GalaxySamPWND is a paid service that (remotely) helps you unlock the bootloader on Snapdragon Galaxy devices sold in the USA and Canada. This service is provided by XDA Recognized Developer and long-time community member elliwigy. He first announced this service over at XDA in December 2020.
He is the same developer who found an exploit that led to root solutions for various Snapdragon devices including Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9/S9+, and Galaxy Note 9.
Here’s the old direct link to SamPWND’s official website: https://www.sampwnd.com/... but unfortunately the site is down.
You can contact elliwigy here though and ask.
