There are only few good apps available on Gear S3. Very difficult to find best apps. Any suggestions?
Depends on what you're looking for, for me some of the best are Gear navigator, gopro remote app , flashlight app, uber , find my car , memory vault and chat hub

Not sure how many of your boxes it will tick, but I have the Endomondo app on my S3. Works well as a companion to the phone app.
I like Whats History app because it keeps a history of my WhatsApp messages received by the gear. Otherwise, I can see only the last message from a contact (if more were sent)

Hey all,
I have been enjoying the gear s3, but I was looking for an app that can function as a shopping list.
I bought My Notes in Gear, but it seems be unable to install on my gear s3 paired with a Nexus 6p . Do any you know a solution for this or have an alternative app that you recommend?

I have been using the Shopping List Gear Voice app. It is only used for shopping and does cost $1.50. I have a rooted Nexus 6.
I have the Frontier and S7 edge. My Notes in Gear works perfect just like Google Keep.

Me too, surprised no free samsung apps to sync text notes.
Many apps for shopping list (or todo)
- Listonic
- Lister
- My Tasks (Google tasks)
- ENoteGear (Evernote)
- Your Grocery List (ourGroceries client)
- Shopping Lists (standalone app)
-Notepad+ (Notes standalone app)
I'm using reminders
Reminders has a built-in checklist as well. No need to buy a third-side app which may sniff your notes. Do you need that?
For some reason I don't have it on my watch. Want there supposed to be an app for messages? I'm on the Wi-Fi version paired with the Google Pixel XL.

I believe you need a samsung phone to have the messages and email apps on the watch. It's one of the limited functions of using the Gear S3 with a non samsung phone.
You can use other messaging apps like Textra, they just don't fully work the same. You will get messages though.

Textra seems to be an s2 app. I cant find any messaging apps for s3.
Well it's not going to install on the watch either way. However Textra does work. Download it on your phone and enable notifications in Gear Manager. I know it works as I have used it. However unless you use stock Samsung apps you don't get full use of the app. It's the same thing I'm dealing with for emails. I hate the stock app, but can't fully use a substitute because that is how Samsung has designed the system to be.

Ahhh I see. Yes, have found that gmail allows notifications to be replied to and read whereas the android mail app only allows a short preview/header of emails with no reply option.
Try Bluemail email app. Shows full email. They're quick to respond and the phone app is very customizeable and full featured as any email app.
Aqua Mail also has a setting for Smart Watch Enhancement which includes Gear.

I tried this and it worked a handful of times yesterday. Somehow I am not receiving notifications anymore from Textra and I am getting prompted to switch to the stock messaging app. Any idea why this is happening? Any recommendations on a solution/s? Thanks!

not true... I have a mate 9 and have the stock message app on my watch.
gear s3
Is it possible to trick the samsung default messaging app to show all your texts and let the watch show you messages while in reality I would actually be using textra as the default app?
same boat here... using the new galaxy watch with pixel 2 XL. would love to get a messaging app on the watch.
Hi all,
I just got a Gear S3 and I use it with a Google Pixel XL. I like the watch but there are three things that I miss a lot and I have not manage to find them. These are, my twitter and facebook walls, as well as news app (only a couple of things for UK on the apps store). For the news I was thinking RSS might be a good idea, and I although I have found an app that is suppose to show RSS feeds, after installing it, it does not even show on the S3 and the S3 Gear app on my phone..
Any suggestions on how I can access to these three things would be appreciated.
Thank you.
For now you can't access Facebook, Twitter or RSS feed on your Gear S3, but you can use Messenger app or other usefull app on your Gear S3 smartwatch...here's are some best Gear S3 apps and games
Endomondo App
Map My Run app
MyFitnessPal App
Uber App
Fruit Ninja Game
Sleep As Android App
Glympse Location tracker App
White Light and Here WeGo App
Find My Car App
Flipboard News Briefing App
Gear for Nest App
Pear App
Camera Gear App
Samsung S Health App
Rolling Hams Game
AwayYouGo App
You can get Facebook on the mini browser but you're going to need reading glasses

Visit FB on Chrome and enable notifications. These notifications will now show in s3. I do this as I have disabled the FB app completely as it is a battery sucker. I have Twitter on my phone and I can view and respond to all the tweets I get. I am using lgv20 990DS made in India.

A smartwatch without a RSS reader and Podcast is not a real smartwatch. Why did I purchase my Gear S3?

I'm here asking myself that.
Hi everyone
Just got my new S3 Frontier. can anyone tell me how I can view future events on the calendar app.
I can scroll the through the next 27 days events but if I want to view or add an event say in 3 months time there does not seem to be any way to do it??
Seems daft that I can look at the calendar but not see my events etc in the future?
I must be doing something stupid as I cannot find anyone else in the history of the internet who has the same issue ?
please help...
Most of watch show just current day events, over show 1 week or 3 days. So if you have a month on Gear it is very well. It is just a quick method to see what happen next. Otherwise for total operation it is always a phone job.
Do more use more memory more time to transfer so more batt so not for a small wearable device

The watch isn't meant to replace a smartphone, I don't think. You can't surf the net or get to Google for example. For longer range activities you need a phone or computer and I'm good with that.
Assuming you are running tizen 3.0, go into the calendar app by launching the app or tapping the calendar widget. In the main screen of the calendar app on the watch, tap the three dots on the right side of the calendar screen. There should be an option called "create a new event"
Hello,
so I have fully updated Samsung Gear S2 (not classic one), and before the update, I could see the message and mail app.
Now I cannot find them either on the phone or on the Samsung Shop.
I have Xiaomi Redmi 4X.
Is there an option to instal this .apk NOT from Samsung Shop?
Regards,
F22
Mail (and I think message) works only with a Samsung phone. The Watch can not know what mail app the user can have on the 100 000 others phones type/brand

I'm using just Gmail app, like most of the ppl.
How about installing apps, not from the Samsung Store on watch?
