Voice Checklist For Gear S3? - Samsung Gear S3

I used to own a Pebble Time Steel and it has a great app called Checklist. You could open the app, press a button, and a microphone symbol would appear. You could then add an item to the checklist by speaking the word for that item. You could even add several items at once by saying the words separated by "comma". So you I could say "milk comma bread" and two separate items would appear on the check list. Milk and bread.
Eliminating the items was also easy. Each item had a check box next to it. I could highlight the item, press a button, and a check would appear in the box. I could check as many items at one time as I wished. Then at the bottom of the list I could select "Clear Completed" and they would be erased from the list.
This was such an elegant and simple app, I am stunned there is nothing like it for the Gear S3. The only checklist apps I have seen are ones which are incredibly difficult and cumbersome to use, and none of them can add an item to the list by voice. They all require writing the list item letter by letter on the screen, backing up one screen and selecting "Done", and then hitting a plus symbol, writing the next item letter by letter, and so forth. This is ridiculous.
Does anyone know of a checklist which can be created by voice? The only "note" apps out there with voice recordings makes a separate recording for each item, and that is equally stupid.

Every time you have a keyboard, you have also a mic to write with voice recognition (Listonic, Shopping List..... and more) (I turn left and have voice input). On Gear you can correct the input, on pebble you must retry every time voice is not correct.

There is no keyboard or microphone in the Shopping Lists app. You have to write each letter by hand. I thought I already mentioned that.

None of those screens appear on the Gear S3 Shopping Lists app.
No keyboard. No mike. You have to write each list item letter by letter, by hand. A keyboard never appears. You have to write by hand. No keyboad. No mike.
I am asking about the Gear S3.
Not the Gear S2.

I just want to open an app on my watch, press a button, say a word, and have that word appear on a list. And when I open the app and press the button a few hours later, and say another word, I want that word to be added to the same list.
Then when I have purchased an item from the list, I'd like to be able to open the app and select the item and easily delete it.
This isn't hard to understand.
Does such an app exist or not?

Here is the Pebble app: https://apps.getpebble.com/en_US/application/5620e876768e7ada4e00007a
Is there anything like this for the Samsung Gear S3?

Yes. Shopping List app and Listonic exist even for Gear S3. And Samsung Keyboard exist also on S3.
Check your setting/installation for your S3.
You can see same screen I posted for the Gear S3.
Shopping List App (Gear1&2&S&S2&S3) Product list.
Press "+" to add item, press "x" to delete items
Listonic, items list
Press Gear menu (Gear S2/S3 feature) to show add/delete icon.
Really so hard to understand how start an app and use menu or icon to start menu or add/delete ?

[APP][1.6+] App Dialer 3.0 [update: better ordering, auto hide keyboard]

Hey, it's me again. You may be using my apps like Mario Live Wallpaper, Video Live Wallpaper, or WiimoteController. This time I come with a completly free (early) Christmas present to you guys at xda-devs and all other users of my apps!
I present to you... App Dialer
App dialer is an app launcher that can be used to find installed apps and start them very quickly. Today's Android devices have a lot of memory that users often spend on apps and games. Some users have as much as 400 applications installed on their device and navigating a list of apps or swiping between screens and screens of app icons just to find one can take a lot of time.
App Dialer can be used to quickly filter a large list of apps down to just a few or even just one item in just a few seconds.
There are a few app launching apps out there but what sets App Dialer from the rest is the way app list is filtered. Instead of using an awkward on-screen QWERTY keyboard, App Dialer comes with a built-in numeric keyboard. You can just dial out apps' names just like you would dial a spellable phone number. Button 2 represents A, B or C, button 3 represents D, E or F, and so on. Want the Browser? Dial 2769737 (spelled "browser"). Want the Gallery? Dial 4255379 (spelled "gallery"). It is that easy!
Having a numeric keyboard means having big, easy to hit buttons that can be hit quickly and accurately with only one hand. The app list updates and shrinks as you dial so there is a great chance that you will not have to dial the complete name before the app is already going to appear on the top of the list. With some practice (you might already have years of practice writing SMS messages this way) you will be able to launch any app on your device in three seconds or less, regardless of how many apps you have installed.
App Dialer highlights:
easy to use
can be started by long-pressing the search button (if your device has it)
can be started via a notification icon
starts fast, can be made even faster by turning off icons
quick dial for up to 10 favorite apps
pin selected apps to the top of the list
donation-supported, but otherwise free and ad-free!
This app is completly free. However it is donation-supported like all of my other apps. If you find it useful, please consider donating.

I've just made an update to this app. You can read all about it above. Changelog is in the second post.
Sorry about double posting, but I've just made another update. Details in the second post.
How is the importance order set? Does it keep a count of which app we choose more when we click them in app dialer? Great feature! It has really improved the speed and relevance of the result, I rarely use my app drawer thanks to this app

No, it's simpler than that. It is a combination of the alphabetical order and the position of the match (ie. the sooner the match is found in the app's name, the more important that app will be).
How can I make this the default app over the Google search box apk?. I move it to system and rename but still wants the long press to active the app.

Corners
"4Corners" is an app designed to help you navigate your device and make calls while driving.
The app's screen is divided to four. The special thing about this driving app is that you can control the app in two ways, by pressing buttons or you can just press the middle button and voice recognition will be turned on and then all you'll need to do is to say the number of the corner of your wanted activity.
So lets say you want to get to your phone you just need to say "1" and it works the same inside the phone activity just say the corner of the contact you want to call. It designed like this so you wont need to look on the screen for a long time just press the middle button and say the number of the corner.
In "4Corners" you're able to get to your phone and make calls.
4Corners gets your favorite contacts list, so make sure you have some contacts marked as favorite.
When you make a call or receive a call the speaker will automatically be turned on.
There's also a very simple music player in "4Corners" with not so many buttons so you wont have to look too much on the screen.
Except these two you can get to "Google Maps" through "4Corners"(just make sure you have "Google Maps" installed) and "Google Voice Search" which will enable you to search your phone by voice .(make sure you have "Google Voice Search" installed)

You can tell me your ideas, I would like to get some more criticism.
Found 2 crashes :when going to phone, immediately click previous, you'll get an array out of bounds exception.
Playing music doesn't work at all for me, I hear about half a second of music and then it crashes, before I get to see anything.
Also, it only sees 3 contacts, the one on the upper left is the same as the lower right one. I have 6 favorite contacts in total, but when I press next, it says end of list.

Ok so send a crash report when it crashes so I can check why it crashes.
Regarding your contacts, make sure that their phone number is marked as a mobile type.
You probably see the same contacts twice because he has two phone numbers marked as mobile.

I fixed these bugs and it will be on the next update.
For now the phone will work properly if you'll change your contact's number type so your contact will have only one mobile.
I also recommend to you to go over the information page and arrange your favorite list and edit your contacts as written.

Gear 2 and Fleksy - My trick for making replying to texts easier.

There are a lot of posts here complaining about the beta, but...it's a beta. It's still in development. I was very vocal when the gear first came out without fleksy especially when they announced it with launch nearly 2 months before the release date. But it's here and I'm happy. here are some tips to make replying to sms easier.
1. Use the shortcut clock and put fleksy as one of the apps. One thing I love about the gear 2 is how easy it is to customize the interface by simply dragging and dropping from the watch.
2. If you have a group of lets say 5 or 10 people you text very frequently, simply put a "." in front of the contact name. When your watch syncs up, those contacts will be at the top eliminating the need to scroll through dozens (or in my case) hundreds of contacts) When you get notified of a txt, simply press the home button, click on fleksy on your shortcut watch face, select contacts at the top of the list and your all set. It's really very easy. I've attached the image to show you my setup. If anyone has any questions post away, I will be doing a video on youtube shortly.
Thank you for Fleksy for finally getting this out there. This app brings us a huge step closer to the smartwatch we all wanted!

Thank you for the tips/advice. Your suggestions are great and it works well to sort. My issue is that I thought Flesky would do autocorrects, especially with such a small keyboard to try and use, but mine does not. Does anyone know if this feature is coming?

The auto-correct feature works just fine on mine. It didn't work the first time I downloaded the application but after a delete and re-install it worked fine. You could try that.
Always worked on mine. You're right, it would be worthless if it didn't

Guess what? It does work, but I was typing one word tests at first and did not hit the space bar. You need to do this to have the autocorrect do its thing. Now when I type tsting, it corrects it to testing, or thrre to three. Thanks all.

Good point. I always have to hit the space bar after the last word, which is kind of weird
how i close off the autocorrect theme because i am from greece and i want to write greek with latin characters an the autocorrect make this thing impossible.
it may just be me or my phone, but it seems like after i send 1 or more messages with Flesky from my Gear neo, the "swipe" keyboard on my S5 stops working. I also lose my autocorrect feature unless i restart the phone (have not found another fix yet).
anyone else notice this? its almost like the S5 forgets it has Swype, and instead thinks its still using flesky.
I've setup my "Double Press" home button to open Fleksy. The "Double Press" command works from any screen on the Gear 2. After I read a text message I immediately "Double Press" and Fleksy appears showing my inbox.

Google Voice Search problem

It's been a while since I used voice to text on my phone (not since ICS). I have a project now that would be much easier with voice to text than typing so I was playing around with it today. What I found was kind of bitter sweet.
I use Swiftkey keyboard and it had me install Google Voice Search in order to do voice to text. It works and is very accurate but it doesn't add text to a field or input area as I speak. It waits until I finish and then gives a few options to select the string that most closely resembles what I said. Well, at least that is how it's supposed to work but in reality, it cuts me off mid word and sentence and usually only after 10 to 20 words. I then have to wait, select the text and then restart it to keep going. Also there is no option to download offline language packs, which will be problematic.
This is not how the voice to text functioned on ICS. I believe it was called Google Voice Typing? It stayed on, didn't cut me off and inputted the text while I spoke. Although I do remember that it was not as accurate. I also remember downloading offline language packs.
I thought it might be to do with Swiftkey so I installed the Google Keyboard but the mic icon on it did nothing at all. Is there a way to get back useable voice to text functionality on kitkat? Can I just flash Google Voice Typing?
Cheers!
Just go and paste apk in priv-app folder and .so in lib folder in your /system.
After pasting them please set permissions using es file explorer as disable all exucitables and disable last two write option.
Reboot and mark the new keyboard as default.

After doing so go to settings of keyboard and select english uk and us both in the menu.
Next time you open your keyboard. You will have an icon on your status bar. To switch to voice typing just click that notification and select google voice typing and you are done. First five or six time it will need a network but later on it will be offline.
Thanks droid_god. I installed the Google Keyboard manually as per your instructions but it doesn't have the voice input icon. Funny thing is that I had the mic icon on the Google Keyboard I installed from the play store, it just didn't do anything accept vibrate when I selected it. In the keyboard settings of the manually installed keyboard the menu and tick box for voice input key is greyed out and says "No voice input methods enabled. Check Languages & input settings." There is no setting for voice input in my system settings, just the Google Voice Search settings which is on.
I suspect that I do not have Google Voice Typing (or whatever it's called) on my phone at all. Is it possible that this should have been part of gApps but was missing? Is it possible to flash just the missing stuff?
Cheers
Yes voice typing is a part of google search app which you get as a widget on main screen when you buy a phone.

Go to top and hit input languages and
And next time you open keyboard just look at status notification click on that and select voice typing
Sorry, I'm not quite sure what you mean. I already had the english uk and us selected if that was what you meant?
Yes and did you check the status bar icon of keyboard when you open keyboard to type.
Just hit that icon and select voive typing
There Is no voice typing option available. The input options are English UK, English US, Huawei Swype, or Swiftkey Keyboard. I don't understand how anything I have done yet could make Google Voice Typing work as it doesn't appear to be installed on the phone. Well if it is actually installed, it isn't in the settings, language and input menu. Is there a way to check, i.e. look for a certain file in system folder?
If you own a kitkat device look for an app named velvet in your priv-apps. If its there then you have voice typing installed. If its not there then i can manage to swnd you the app.
No worries, and thank you. I have 2 devices running on slimkat roms. I'm away for a while now but will check them when I get home. Velvet isn't in the priv-app folder on the phone I am having trouble with, although it is kitkat too.
The velvet app is essential for voice typing i will providd you the link for one
---------- Post added at 10:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:36 AM ----------
Download the app named as google search from play store and then inmstall it. Reboot your device and you are done now you can use the voice typing.
Give it a try
Thanks droid_god, that did it. The app is just called Google in the play store though. They must have dropped search from the name somewhere along the way. Now to work out why it has so much trouble contacting the Google servers.... Probably just best to download the offline language packs. Thanks again!
Hmm i will be having a blue square and a white g on it.
Thats named velvet in system.of my device and google search in my application manager. God knows is there a hole in google play bag which brought the apps name.
The tread was usefull for me to thank you

Question Name in Contact list but can't find it to send text message

When I open my contacts I have a name for John Jones. But when I open the messaging app John Jones is not in the list of available names. How can I fix this.
Do it directly from contacts...
Do what directly from contacts? I would like see John Jones' in the list of recipients when I open the 'Messages' icon. When I click on the 'blue' Messages icon on the main screen I see a list of the text messages I have. In addition, near the bottom there is an outline of a message box. Below that are the words 'Conversations' and 'Contacts'. When I click on the Contacts the name for John Jones does not appear. When I click on the outlined message box and proceed to select a recipient I get a list that looks very much like my list of Contacts except John Jones is not in the list.
It is only when I click on the Contacts icon on the main screen that John Jones appears.

There should be a pop up if you tap on the contact or at least there is with Pie. It's a little touchy if you don't hit it right and then you need to hit the back button to try over.

I don't upgrade as I like Android 9's core functionality and usability; even after over 3 years I'm still learning about it. Android's lack of version continuity is a true pain... which I choose to avoid.
Does the contact saved have a phone number that you can text, or is it perhaps saved with email only?
Ok. I see what you're both talking about now. I randomly selected several contacts and found they don't all appear the same. I must have a different version of the OS but I see the same icons on some as you do but in a different location. To clarify, I selected Contacts from the main screen. If I click on certain contacts I get your circled list, horizontally, just below the contact name and number. (There is a spot for a picture above the name.) But for some contacts, such a John Johns (fictitious name, BTW) I get none of this. I only get "History" and "Storage Location". It seems all contacts have these last two items. But some contacts have much more e.g. email address, home address, etc. There must be a way to configure the contact. I'll keep looking. Thanks.

If I go through the Samsung phone app and select contacts I get the version I posted previously.
If I go directly to Contacts I get this:
Like Windows there's usually 2 or 3 ways to do the same action in Android.
Well duh!! At some point I clicked to have the contact added and it did just that - it added the name but no number. So just now I manually added a number to John Jones and a miracle happen. John Johns now appears in my list of available recipients under the Messages icon. I know there is a reason I have avoided using cell phones.

Well duh!! At some point I clicked to have the contact added and it did just that - it added the name but no number. So just now I manually added a number to John Jones and a miracle happen. John Johns now appears in my list of available recipients under the Messages icon. I know there is a reason I have avoided using cell phones.
