About the ROM
This is a build of LineageOS 14.1 (Nougat) for the Samsung Galaxy SL (GT-I9003)
Things to take a note of
This ROM is still a Work In Progress. As such, some features do not work, as listed ahead
Make sure you keep a backup of your files. This update WILL wipe every partition (/system, /cache, /data, /sdcard).
IMPORTANT: Returning to an older ROM is non-trivial because this update applies a different partitioning scheme. To return to another version, flash the boot.img (possibly using heimdall or bml_over_mtd) of the ROM you wish to install, reboot to recovery, and flash.
ADB does not authenticate any requests. Hence, ensure you disable ADB if you're not a developer.
Steps to flash
Reboot to Recovery.
Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash. It will reboot to TWRP.
Flash the ROM zip again. It WILL fail on this flash to let you go back to an older boot.img to stop installation if you wish to. Flash again to continue.
Flash GApps (OpenGApps pico package recommended).
Reboot. First boot can take 15mins or so.
NOTE: When upgrading from an older version of this ROM, it's recommended to wipe /system due to certain issues with the installer not updating the boot image correctly.

You don't have to double post
This ROM is *somewhat* stable, however there are features missing (mobile data, GPS, video playback, etc.). Alpha and Beta are measures of how stable a version is (Alpha < Beta < Stable, in order of stability).
The reason you cannot go to a previous Android version is because I have repartitioned the phone's internal storage for a bigger /system partition and no internal /sdcard storage (it is now emulated storage). You can return to a previous ROM by flashing the stock ROM (to be more specific, the boot.img), rebooting to recovery and restoring your ROM backup.
I can post some screenshots soon, if needed
I started by porting Omni to our phone, to see if it was possible. Then I went for Lineage because it contains more features. So the Omni port is no longer active, It's recommended to use this LineageOS port.
Also, the Omni port uses the same partitioning format as older ROMs but at the disadvantage of having no system partition space for GApps and lesser fixes.
Cheers!
Thanks fr the reply!!!!
YES!!! i would love to see some screenshots.......
sorry but iam a noob at all this......I actually have another doubt too......
As u said that i should flash the stock rom..... here wt does a BOOT.IMG mean??
If u reply to this As soon as possible i would like to know wat all precautions should i take before flashing this rom.....
Bcoz this is the frst time iam seeing that u can't go back to the previous rom....
Usually i would take a nand. backup and test out a new rom nd then i wld go back to my previous backup......
Iam askin all these because the first time i flashed the Omni Rom a month before....... Nd i actually bricked my phone......
I got this "phone -exclamation-pc" icon everytime i try to get into BOOT mode or RECOVERY........
Then i recoverd safely after flashing the stock rom.......
Nd Instead of 7.1.2 for i9003 I would love to see 5.0 or 6.0 for this device......
Cant find any Lollipop or Marshmellow ROMS for the SL......
And i sincerely thank you for creating this NEW ROM for the SL.....
Have'nt seen any new ROMS lately after the CM11
(nd plssssss once think abt making a 5.0 ROM fr the SL.......What is ur opinion abt it......?? Iam sure it would look great on the SL.....)
Once again thank u for the reply.....
(ppl on xda surely are pretty friendly..... )

Will send screenshots soon
You can ignore that and just go ahead with flashing the stock ROM. The boot.img file is essentially the file that contains the boot code and recovery of the phone (in simplified terms)
The main precautions you should keep in mind are that the Internal SD card is now emulated, so wiping data will wipe any photos/music stored in internal storage. The safest place to keep your files are on an external SD card (keep your CM11 backup there, too)
The exclamation mark error is when the phone can't find the boot code, that might've been the ROM flash geting stopped partway. You can recover from that using Odin.
I actually did make a 5.0.2 NamelessROM build, but it's not very usable as such. Lollipop had an issue which used up phone RAM too much. Our phone having 512MB of RAM just made it worse. In between I was away on other tasks and so, by the time I returned, Nougat was latest. Hence, it didn't make sense (atleast to me ) to make a Marshmallow ROM when Nougat was the one in development.
You're welcome
As said above, a 5.0.2 build exists, which isn't very usable. A Marshmallow ROM doesn't exist for our phone but if one wishes to build CyanogenMod 13.0 for our device, I can give help
XDA and other internet forums are not all that friendly, just make sure you follow the rules of the forum
Cheers!

In the i9003 and other Samsung devices, the recovery is part of the boot partition. You can't switch recoveries independently of the current ROM (unless the main reason you want the recovery is just for the recovery or you patch the boot.img)
If you want to run a recovery, you have to get the boot.img file (taken from a ROM or otherwise) and flash it to the phone using heimdall/odin/flash_image. You'll have a recovery but it won't boot into Android.

Hi,
I have the same problem. Is there a solution ?
When , i choose "Toggle script asserts" on CWM , this error disappear and the installation continue.
But at the end, the phone has a loop reboot on TWRP . No way to boot on LineageOS.

@Technohacker1995 , do you plan to support LineageOS 15.1 Oreo (Go edition) for our devices ?
I Think it will be a great idea to get this device to work with "LineageOS 15.1 Oreo (Go edition)".
The OS is built to deal with a device with low ram and with optimized apps for better performance and lower space

I'm thinking of doing that, actually (more for Project Treble, rather). I can't guarantee anything though
If I get enough time, I'll try porting it over
What remains to be fixed in the 7.1 port, however, is Mobile Data, GPS, H/W Video acceleration and other features listed in the main post. The same pains would be applicable here too.

This ROM uses LVM partitions for a bigger /system partition. Hence it isn't compatible with previous partitioning schemes. I've actually added a part in the script to make sure it flashes and boots into TWRP first, because it acts as an intermediary for the actual install. You'll want to flash the ROM thrice: 1) Install LVM-partitioned TWRP (Reboots), 2) Act as a confirmation step (fails) 3) Actual install by wiping everything (should succeed) (there were supposed to be messages for each flash) .
As for a solution, if you're comfortable with Heimdall, flash the NORMALBOOT partition in download mode with the boot.img in the zip file. Then boot into recovery (TWRP) to continue for the two flashes.
Download mode is ALWAYS accessible, so don't worry, your phone isn't dead.

There's been some discussion recently of the leaked ICS ROM for the Lenovo A1, which is a little difficult to install, because Clockworkmod won't flash it due to failed assertions. I've modified it so that it can be flashed through CWM.
Be warned that it will overwrite U-Boot, the kernel, and the RAMdisk (these are not usually backed up by CWM 5.0.2.7). If you've installed it, and you want to go back to your old backup (very likely as you'll soon get tired of nothing working properly), use the following steps:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Restore your backup using the normal CWM functionality
3. Install ub-fastboot.zip from this post.
4. Reboot into fastboot mode and restore the correct kernel and ramdisk for your ROM with:
Code:
fastboot flash inand-kernel <kernel>
fastboot flash inand-ramdisk <ramdisk>
5. Reboot.
If you don't know what the correct kernel/ramdisk is for your ROM then I'd advise you not to try using this ROM.
DISCLAIMER
There is no guarantee of anything going right if you install this ROM. I'll try and help with problems (and I'm sure other people will too) but if things get messed up it'll be your fault. Don't take the risk without understanding it and being comfortable with it.
Download: here.
So now you've flashed ICS to your A1, but you can't use it. Duh. Everything is broken right now.
For those scared of using ADB commands during a restore to CM7/Stock gingerbread... Here's the stock RAMDISKS, and Kernel as CWM .Zips... [Links taken from the other A1 threads, stock kernel .zip by yours truly. ;-) ] Flash ONLY the ones you need before you flash your Stock rom/CM7 rom/nandroid restore. In this order.
ROW 2375 / ROW 2525 builds ONLY RAMDISK
(1.){^^vv If you don't know which you're supposed to have, DO RESEARCH FIRST
ROW 2643 build only RAMDISK
(2.)Stock Kernel
(3.) Then Stock ROM/CM7 ROM (your choice) (skip step 2 if flashing a 4/28 or later CM7 build it includes a kernel.)
(4.)Fastboot bootloader mod

Now if only we could get Wifi and USB working... That would be a decent start...
Weird part is, on the leaked one, the device name under settings is "Zoom2"
(haven't flashed this one yet, but I assume it's the same)
Makes me wonder if this is infact the real deal... or at least an attempt by a third party? (see post below)
Though it's nice to see it being possible.

It says "Zoom2" - that's an OMAP3 development kit that the hardware in the A1 is very similar to - they'll have started with the device-specific files for the Zoom2, and haven't bothered to change them yet. See http://www.omapworld.com/zoom.html

It's not worth trying to fix with this ROM. It'd be better to work on a proper build of ICS instead of wasting time augmenting this early build.
Anyone trying this rom - can you take a look if /proc/config.gz exist and if so - make an upload. I'm just curious, but don't want to waste my time ....

If you can still boot into recovery, flash an OTA zip file.
If you can't, then follow these instructions.

I'm not running the ROM right now, but I tried extract-ikconfig on the kernel and it didn't find a config - I don't know how reliable that tool is though, since I've never used it before.
An update for the ICS ROM was posted in a German forum. Wifi is said to be working now. You can download it here. To use it, you need to flash the original ICS firmware (A107_.rar) and then install the update.zip with the stock recovery from an external sd card.
I've tested the update on my device. Wifi and sound output are working now. The build props show a Lenovo device now (ro.build.fingerprint=Lenovo/IdeaTab_A1107/A1107:4.0.4/MR1/eng.user.20120503.193509:eng/test-keys). The main issue seems to be that the Google Apps are not working (including Play).
EDIT: The problem with Google Play seems to be caused by the file permissions of drmserver. After this, I can download apps from Play Store (but only until rebooting):
Code:
adb remount
chmod 777 /system/bin/drmserver
./system/bin/drmserver&
Confirmed wifi works and sound works fine.
Google store not so much but looks to be a quick fix.
Gps seems to be working but haven't had time to test.
Mounting sd card and usb mounting are messed up.
Also for anyone considering this 4.03 they should know its based on a phones os and not a tablet os.
I can't update on 2GB A1 - there is an error in the middle of process.
The first version was running ok.
Pls!
Dear gmarkall,
I redownloaded and flashed again and now it's running OK.
Now from the above posts, i see that an update that fixes wifi and sound 's available to download again here.https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=56E49CF4B3C46641&id=56E49CF4B3C46641!106&action=Download
So pls tell me what i've to do again. Can i flash this update from CWM ?
Thanks !
Plaease help! Not work on IdeaPad A1 2GB
CWM log:
size:3833856assert failed: run_program("/tmp/fuse:, "mbr", "/tmp/mbr2GB.img")
E;Error in /sdcard/update.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
Can you help me?
This Update doesn't work with cwm and I wouldn't recommend to anyone flashing it. It screwed up my whole file system including rescue partition and took me several hours to get rid of it. On top, it doesn't contain config.gz.
If you are using CWM, you can go back to stock recovery in just a few minutes. It is described here. This shouldn't be an issue?
Clearly this is not a actually preview from lenovo but rather a home-brew that does a decent job of getting many things working.
The first preview had a tablet based 4.03 and this supposed update has a phone 4.03 layout.
Still not bad just not from lenovo.

It's stuck on the blue robot face with a white transparent circle growing and disappearing. Tried to flash again with odin but same. And i've no access to recovery.
EDIT: I do have access to recovery if I restart the phone
Gonna try flashing it now.
Following advice in AndroidGX's other ROM thread, I'm gonna do a data, cache and dalvik wipe before flashing my carriers latest firmware which is ANK5 from the EE network in the UK.
After I've flashed that, I'll do another full data, cache and dalvik wipe before flashing this ROM in order to minimise any errors.

It bootlooped. Looking at every other CM12 install video, they all use a .zip that is flashed from the phone itself.
Could Odin be causing these bootloops?
Flash to stock was successful, no damage done other than Knox 0x1 but I already had that anyway and I don't care about it.
PHONE WILL NOT BOOT PAST SAMSUNG LOGO AT ALL NOW D:
UPDATE: Phone initially bootlooped, battery pulled, reset data/cache in Recovery and now it booted stock.

It was 0x1 before I flashed this ROM. I don't care at all about my Knox counter, my warranty covers my phone regardless of it's Knox state so I'm more than happy to flash this, that and anything else regardless of it's effect on my Knox counter if it means it would be produce results for getting CM12 on our phones.
I'm dying for the Stock Lollipop experience with this phone.

Samsung firmwares are based on their own android source code. Cyanogenmod is based on pure AOSP... So completely different. Although now Samsung has released the kernel source code for 5.0 g901f along with binaries it should be easier to build CM12 now.
Edit: actually they haven't released the source code just yet

ahh, I didn't know they hadn't released source yet. that's kinda what I meant though.
still sounds like a step in the right direction. imagine a 5.02 build, bloat-free on that hardware. should fly.
I'm currently running the feb14 build cm12 of daniel_hk, and I'm experiencing lots of hangs and lags now and then... Apps dont run as smooth as when I was on 4.1.2 especially CoC. Really don't know why (but still cheers to the dev for all the effort)
I'm now planning on changing the rom temporarily, while I wait for a few updates. Especially a Kitkat one. What kitkat rom for my P6200 will be the most stable? CarbonRom or Omni?
I recall trying both and was getting more hangs / reboots in carbon, so I'd say try omni. However nothing more stable than stock JB imo, probably due to full sources never being made available for this model.
Have you try CM 12.1 latest build? I use it as my daily, much more stable than the 14 Feb build, using it for CoC without any issues (no sudden reboots). As for kitkat, i agreed with skurys, better use stock JB than kitkat carbon or omni. Cheers

Hi,
I have read the post from Daniel for CM 12.1. It seems very interesting and promising especially after reading the comments from different members about the stability and speed of this ROM. I have followed the procedure to install this ROM as below:
1. Rooted my P6200
2. Flashed cwm-6.0.4.5-p6200.tar via. ODIN as TWRP .zip was giving problem. This was also mentioned in a suggestion from another member in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41214833&postcount=215
3. Once rooted I installed SuperSU and BusyBox without any problems
4. Wipe the data
5. WIpe the cache
6. Npw when I tried to flash the latest build of CM12.1 i.e. available here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=33760, I am getting error. Here is the error message :
"ApplyPArsedPerms: lsetfilecon of /system/lost+found to ubject_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supporoted on transport endpoint".
E:Error in /storage/sdcard1/<filepath>
(Status 7)
Installation aborted."
I am also attaching a screen shot of the error message for easy understanding and reference. Is this something related to my SD Card/Storage?
I created a back up before flashing so I have restored back to stock with that backup but no luck flashing this ROM. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, since I am junior member I am not allowed to post OR reply directly to that thread.
I cannot finish before appreciating and thanking Daniel for his gr8/wonderful work for the Galaxy Tab throughout his projects. We can use these tabs for some more time now. Thanks you so much.
Please help me..
i think i wanna revert back to stock .. cause so far i install to many version of OS, no such as 1 stable..
included latest release of carbon rom, still have an issue with WiFi can't stored password as well, each time on the signal, need to re-enter the password..

Nice, hope to see more people test it and fix the existing bugs..
plz re-upload with compressed rom for poor internet users
Sounds like an interesting attempt to try and get this ROM to work. It doesn't sound like it's too far off either.
Here's some of my thoughts on it:
- Maybe try replacing the Fingerprint app with a 5.0.2 version, if the bootloader is the same it might solve the issue.
- Did you root before testing Wifi? Maybe trying to do this may have caused the problem. However the main thing is it works, just needs adjustment.
- With rooting, I'm thinking that this firmware is possibly higher in API version than what SuperSU is, out of curiosity, what API is this ROM?
I'm willing to try and help out where I can (CWM Building, testing), but I can only do so much of it since my S5 is my main phone.
Another fun thing to find out is how it goes with Deodexing.
The only thing we would have to sort out is a G900I fix for NFC and we might be good to go. One thing worth testing too is how a current custom kernel goes with this (KT-SGS5 or Boeffla). If it's the same bootloader, we might be lucky enough for these kernels to work. This could help with rooting issues too.
yes the rom have an higher api and i cant find any root that works with it. wifi works but it only dont remember the password after a reboot. replacing the app for fingerprint is not tested but i can test that

Test custom kernels too, it might end up being useless but still something to test anyways.
Unfortunately with root I think we'll have to wait for a newer version of SuperSU to come out, unless the custom kernel helps.
If a custom kernel works, I could try and build a CWM using a custom kernel and rooting it via installation.
I'm downloading the ROM now as I speak and I'm gonna see if I have any luck with a deodex / root
Geiti you are a mastermind....thx for all ur work

i tried all custom kernels for g900f but no one works because they are not for 5.1.1. thats why the rom uses the stock tmobile kernel

I know how to do some small modifications to kernels via the ramdisk level, can root be done via just the default.prop or do i need to recompile the zImage ??
Let me have a go at it
Why cant it be rooted cm12.1 is 5.1.1 and that can be.Excuse my ignorance
Sim card not found
I've installed the rom but i've no network
OK I'm calling it tonight for now....
I've got a CWM ready to test and a tweaked kernel to test, but I'm getting some sleep for now lol.
I'll test what I've done in the morning
BTW, Thanks!
if you compressed the file it will be appreciated.
best regards.

Only 1.3GB rather than 2.4GB. If any trouble I shall remove
which benefits are of 5.1.1 instead 5.0?
smoother, faster ?
antutu score?
Does it come with the new Touchwiz, like s6 ? And raw format for the camera ?
Here are my 2 cents:
Once kernel is SELinux permissive, root will be possible like in the M preview.
However, Samsung have not released 5.1.1 kernel source yet, so there is nothing to do regarding it.
Don't rush installing it because it is full of TMobile junk(not just apps, also in codes and carrier iq). G900F would probably get it in 2 weeks maybe less.
According to people reports, there is nothing from S6, but improvements of speed.
Waiting is the key here.

"nothing from S6, but improvements of speed." this is kind of sad to hear .. :L i would so much wish for the same thing, like the theme engine of the S6 tw. damn Sammy.. doing this so we go and buy the S6 >_> Well im sticking to my S5 for another 2 years or so until it breaks =-=' .
Hello everyone, I've been doing research for about 5 days trying to get my Tab rooted with a custom ROM and Xposed working. I've finally got everything 100% and just want to share how I did it so that others with this model can have a simple guide to get them started. I take no credit for the ROM / Firmware / Framework / Apps in this guide. And this is my first guide.. So I’m open to all advice.. be gentle
First, get a custom recovery. I used TWRP; The GUI is very user friendly and easy to use. Flash TWRP using Odin. This custom recovery is a must have to continue. Use THIS guide to flash TWRP the first time. @thisisapoorusernamechoice does an amazing job at walking you through it.
Put all the following files onto an external SD on your tab
Next we get a stable custom ROM that's deodexed so you can use Xposed. From your Tablet go download the latest Bliss Pop and here is the guide and thread for this ROM.
Before you flash Bliss Pop with your custom recovery go get the Gapps that will work for your tablet from opengapps.org
The Gapps version that worked for me and is completely stable is going to be:
Platform: ARM Android: 6.0 (Bliss Pop upgrades you to 6.0) Variant: Stock (I'm sure you can pick any variant you want but this is what worked for me.)
Next head to the Xposed thread here and read it over to make sure you're familiar with how it works. The framework you need to download is xposed-v86-sdk23-arm.zip
Again, please make sure these files are all on your SD card because what we’re going to do will do a full wipe
Lastly boot to recovery (HOME+VOL down+POWER) , create a full back up using TWRP (on your External SD card) using the Backup tab. This will take a few minutes to complete.
Now we begin.
*Go to Wipe tab
** swipe Factory reset
*** go to Advanced wipe tab
**** Select Dalvik / ART Cache, Cache, System, and data (make sure all those boxes are selected.)
***** swipe to wipe
****** go to Install tab
******* select and flash Bliss Pop
******** clear Dalvik / ART Cache
********* select and Flash Gapps
**********clear Dalvik / ART Cache
***********Select and flash Xposed
************clear Dalvik / ART Cache
************* Reboot
It can take up to 10 mins to reboot and optimize all the apps so don’t think it's on a loop or bricked.
and congrats.. You now have a dope custom ROM with working Gapps and Xposed on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 SM-T530NU :good:
Which version of android and IR blaster...?
Is Blisspop6.0 based from android 6.0 or is that simply the version number of the Rom with an older version of android...I have seen that happen before. If it is android6 then does the IR blaster work? I have downloaded 6.0 rooms in the past the were specifically for the 530 that still worked fine for the NU just without blaster support. I enjoyed the look and feel of the 6.0 roms as well as the customization options they come with but the blaster is a deal breaker for me. No offense at all the the very talented and hard working developers...I just use out regularly.
Thanks!
No SD card
Hi, I don't have an SD card to use- is there any other way to do these steps without an SD card? Could I put the files on the PC and transfer it to the Tab? Please help.
I know this thread is old, but just a question:
- My SM-T530NU never received any android 5 update. The thread for the ROM states having Android 5 as a requirement. WiIl this work coming from 4.4? What version were you running prior?

Don't know about what was before, but if you are worried, update your tablet manually to 5.02 through fastboot
FYI, for anyone thinking about installing this rom, the IR blaster does not work and neither do the front or rear camera's.
