Purchased this head unit for my Kia Optima because it was the only one advertised as having a 7.1 OS. I've poured over these forums looking at various posts and think I have a general idea of how things work on these units. I've spent a fair amount of time rooting and romming android phones over the years so I get the gist of how this stuff works. I've gathered that my unit is a px3, MTCD, and KLD. I can't find much information on KLD, I do on KD, and one post somewhere said that KLD and KD are the same thing, but I haven't found any other information on that being correct. Despite my unit having 2gb of ram, I'm led to believe that running 7.1.2 on it is a bit of a stretch for it's hardware, so I was looking to downgrade it to an earlier OS version. I looked over malyask's https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...lopment/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-device-t3385309 and figured that would be a good place to start since it seems super popular. When I place the dupdate file on a SD and put it in the radio, I get an error in recovery stating that nupdate file not found. I tried renaming the file to simply update, still no luck. I changed it to nupdate and it found it, but it told me the firmware is incompatible. I've read in a few places that "N" units are still new and experimental, so there isn't really anything available for them. I thought since it states it's a MTCD that I'd be looking for that, but I can't find any threads anywhere that say anything about a nupdate.img instead of a dupdate.img. What sorcery is this?

hello, are there any progress for your search? Your head unit loks like same with mine. Except my unit "WLGK" type. and screen resolution is 800x480W. I'm looking for an easy rooting method to install Viper audio and Dolby Atmos. Without original firmware, I just don't wanna get in through on it. Do you have an original firmware for your head unit?

You need to create a lollipop recovery card to flash a lollipop ROM. Nougat uses a different partitioning system.
Download the Rockchip SD Card burning tool and use it to create a lollipop recovery SD card by pointing it at the dupdate file and it will create a lollipop recovery card you can boot from.

[Q] Trouble upgrading to Gingerbread

I'm getting an error when I try and ugprade my Android version. I'll start with the history and spec first:
Google Nexus One, bought in April 2010, it had Eclair (2.1) on it. I wanted Froyo 2.2 (for the hotspot/tethering) but the update delays being what they were I ended up rooting it, getting clockworkmod, and installing CyanogenMod 6 (based on 2.2). It's been the same ever since and I've been happy with it. It's only because a month or two ago it stopped being able to update any of the apps that I'm even wanting to upgrade, otherwise I'd be happy with CM6. I can no longer update or even search for apps. If I can't go back to plain Android because I've gone CyanogenMod, that's fine, I'll just go for a newer version of it.
I'm not wanting to live on the bleeding edge with ICS4 on this old-timer (yes I've heard it runs but with bugs), so if I can, I'll go for a plain vanilla Gingerbread 2.3.3.
I downloaded 2.3.3 from here and renamed it update.zip and put it in the root of my SD card. I shut the phone down and then followed the instructions I found here.
It seemed like it would be easy, but I'm getting this error after choosing "Apply sdcard: update.zip". After the error I show two screenshots of how I got to that point.

For anyone with the same issue, you could have posted the solution here.Dont promote other sites.
I think the problem was with the file.
Sometimes the browsers get bugged and they dont download the whole package.
I have had this error a couple of times and re-downloading the rom fixed the solution.

Verizon Galaxy Tab 7 Encryption Unsuccessful - Desperate!

I was using the AOSP ICS build posted by jt1134 (at rootzwiki dot com/topic/11697-rom-cdma-aosp-ics-cm9-build101-0418/) for the Galaxy Tab CDMA. The first couple of nightlies worked OK on the tablet, but the camera never worked right. Someone else insisted that the camera works correctly on new builds, so they suggested I use CWM to wipe system, and I took it to mean wipe everything so as to start from scratch, and I wiped /data too. Apparently this triggered the emmc erase bug or something, so now my internal SD is useless.
Nobody over in that thread appears to be willing to make a build that works around the issue. I've already tried partitioning my SD card and editing vold.fstab and updater.rc inside the ROM, but these are apparently useless unless init.rc in the boot image (zimage I guess) is changed. A person attempted that but seems to have gotten the filesystem type wrong in the build (ext2 instead of ext4), and is unwilling to make another attempt. I don't know anything about compiling a custom ROM myself. I've looked into decompressing/recompressing the zimage, but it's too much for me.
What I'm asking here is, can anyone help get a build of ICS to me that I can flash, that will ignore the internal SD and use the external? This site is awash with reports and fixes for Encryption Unsuccessful for other phones and tablets, so I'm hoping somene here can understand my frustration. I haven't been able to use the tablet for over a month now, I think, and I'm not getting anywhere on my own. TIA
Why not ask this great forums section for your device...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1081
And which thread are you referring to...the thread at the other site....? I bet if you present your question or request here at the XDA for your device you will get an answer. Thank you.

[Q] No service after formatting the yl-parames and NVram partitions on coolpad 7295

I've bought this Coolpad 7295 phone for less than three days from China.
It seems that I couldn't flash my phone back to the state where I could get the service for calling the first day.
After the second rom flashing with my flash tool. I kind of formated the Yl-parames and NVRAM section of the phone.
I don't know these two mean! Could someone explain how they work? Are they related to the hardware or the motherboard of the phone?
After the wrong formatting action, my phone could not make any calls. (But everything works, and network works also. And later I flashed many roms, all of them work, just no signal)
So the third picture shows that this device has a different partition compared to the most smartphones in the hardware called "YL-parames".
My friend who is good at making custom roms in Taiwan said I might accidentally screw up with the hardware partition.
I just want to know with this problem appearing, is there any other way that I could get my signal back?
I've tried several methods like rewriting IMEIs, reinstalling the official roms, but none of them work.
Or should I just send it back to the dealer to get it fixed? (I'm doing it right now...)
Just want to know in case the phone is back, how should I operate this flashing tool because I'm really a tech-savy
1) The first picture represents what i chose for the outcome of no signals later on.
2) The next one is its interface
3) The next one is the official flashing tool, but I still can not flash the CPB provided by the official since my hardware seems to be broken.

I would really like somebody to develop the custom rom in the English version for this device, this device is pretty good!
Or is there anybody using this phone as well? It's nice to have someone to exchange info with!!

The unit stop working for some reason (blank screen) so i purchased a new core board from seller and he send me one with wrong firmware inside not adopted for my model, part of screen is not touchable
because of wrong resolution i guess and i cannot access some function even with a mouse
i ask for correct firmware and seller send me one hct4_PX5_9.0_ota(20190815)(cannot post link [new_user]), i extracted it and put it to the usb disk, push reset and nothing happened
i pushed reset again and start finger the screen many times until it show detected but it say cannot find update files as shown bellow
I searched this forums and find many updates for model MT 3561, updates works but none of them solve the screen resolution issue, i tried to access recovery mode using many methods without success
i also tried to update with wrong files so the system auto reboot to recovery mode but i cannot select any option with no buttons, tried to attach a usb keyboard to it but it did not works too.
i read here that i can flash core board off of the unit with otg usb but the core bord is different as shown on picture and i think that apply only to Rockchip corebord
seller support is terrible, he reply only once per week with useless information like "are you able to extract the zip file i sent ?" and then i have to wait for the next week to tell him "yes"
any suggestions ?
Thanks
Unit is not an MTC(x) and SOM is not rockchip.

Problems with android car navigation

Hello. I'm new to the forum and I don't know if I posted where I should (please excuse me and a moderator to move to the appropriate topic). I hope to find the problem and help me, please. I have an android px5 car navigation and I have a pretty serious problem. Often USB or Wi-Fi does not work and another problem is that when I turn on the car the music or radio volume starts at maximum and I have to restart it every time. I asked the sellers and they told me that I need to update the system. The idea is that I tried a few updates on the forum but they didn't work, at one point the navigation didn't even start, now it works but with the above problems but it doesn't read can bus anymore. Please, if you can help me I would be grateful with a software update. I mention that I don't know how, I will attach images with what navigation I have. I hope you don't make jokes, I repeat, I'm new and I don't know how.

Not Android auto, wrong forum. Will request mod moves to Android head units forum, when moving threads is resolved.
Perhaps spend a little time undertaking what you have, the unit is an MTCD for which there is a wealth of information in the MTCD sub forums.
Just reading your issue, you have a hardware issue, send it back.
I specified that I looked through the whole forum and I didn't know where to post the problem, I'm sorry.
So it can't be solved from update to MCU or update to Android?
You can try to update youre MCU , the last version is 3.44
Download from here
you can also can update to Android,
Download here
i dont know if that slove the problem,
but ask the seller to send you the last MCU and Android
I updated the MCU, it worked, it didn't give an error. I received an error on the Android update. I'm wodering why?
Do you try to update from android 8 to android 10?
I tried to update Android from the link you posted. There are two files, I will try to install the other one. I will be back with an answer. I tried to install only GS15 px5. I will try to install GS7 as well.
EDIT: I tried to install Android and I get the same error. Am I doing something wrong? I formatted USB and added the downloaded file. Do I have to do anything else? I successfully updated the MCU but I didn't manage the Android.
Find some frimware with end as IMG,
Or you need first to load recovery for android 10
