Hello. My OPO freezing when i'm in the basement or other places without GSM. Always freeze when i havent phone in hands, for example when i have phone in pocket and dont use him. When i want to use my phone, i trying to wake by double tape to display or use power button, my phone doesn't react. To turn on my phone, i must connect it to charger and keep pressed volume down key, to start recovery, and from recovery i must reboot to system.
How can i debug reason? Maybe is any method to write to memory logcat?

Firmware doesn't matter since even if you've no data or WiFi your device shouldn't freeze. Please try reflashing tugapower.

I don't want reflash, I have too many settings in apps, and I thinks that don't help. Do you have idea how to debug this?

Just backup all apps+data using titanium backup and reflash the ROM.

Hi, i have been looking for answers on the forum, and i learn new things but not how to fix this or what is causing it.
I have buyed i997 from a reseller. He sayd it doesnt work because it have bootloop, but i thinks that is not too much problem getting it working again, so i started searching for the pc drivers n software, then i find here in the forum the stock rom with and without root, i tested them both with odin and the bootloop stills present. I wipe cache and do a factory reset but it keep bootlooping, then think maybe if i update to latest AT&T rom, but no luck.Sometimes the phone just start and theres no bootloop but its very rare and most of the time when i get to the lock screen or setup manager suddently a gapps or something crash and my phome freezes and reboot. I flashed the carbon-jb-v1.6 and suddently it worked fine, no more bootloop and everything smooth,no crashes etc.. then i installed Facebook app and when i was ttyping a message the phone froze up and then restarts, and the bootloop came again, and im stuck on it, and when i pass it, which is very rare, i start typing info in the startup manager and the phone freezes and reboot.. I wipe/format cache, dalvik, factory reset, formated system and data before and after flashing the carbon rom again and it keeps bootlooping. Somebody have similar problems or know how to fix it?
Thanks
P.d. sorry for my bad english.

Thanks man, but you think it can be the power button? When i unplug the battery and put it again the phone doesnt turn on or something, and when it boot up when i lock the screen with the power button it works fine. I set the cpu governor to conservative and since yesterday i didnt have any problem, but sometimes the phone reboots when typing, i think its someting with the processor or when the phone have little ram or something.
Thanks.

If you ran the phone on complete stock GB or FROYO and you are getting boot loops, it may be a hardware issue.
One of the few things that will give you boot loop with the samsung logo while using the phone is the power button.
Either way, it's no big deal to open it and clean it up to see if the problem goes away.

Thanks bud, I will try cleaning the button. Also I want to ask, is there something to log everything when the phone start? Or something to test the hardware functionality?
Thank you for your time

Bootlog Uptime will keep a record of all boots from an Android OS perspective ... It will also track crashes... It won't track events outside of a complete restart (i.e. power button bootloops.. But those are pretty obvious when they occur)
For hardware testing, try Z Device Test... That won't tell you about the buttons though... If your screen turns on without pressing power button or from any other standard event (like receiving a text or a phone call), or the phone restarts by itself, time to get cleaning..

Hey thanks, that was very useful.. i risky miself to do a stock flrom flashing with pit checking the Nand erase all option in Odin 3.07, and the random reboots are gone . Now i have one question, Do i need an special kernel for JB 4.2.2? i plan to flash the Carbon-jb-v1.6 rom but i dont know if i need another kernel
I'm glad to hear you solved your issue.
For JB, use the kernel provided with the rom.

Same fw, same problem
Stamina is off, I made factory reset and repair in PC companion and problem is still here Before .17 was this ok
In Settings / Apps / All try to find com.sonyericsson.illumination service and clear it's data... not sure if it will help (as you already did full reset)
I just had a bootloop changing dalvik to art. Then it shutdown suddenly and there is no way to turn it on, i can't access to recovery or download mode, and it isn't recognized by the computer. Sorry for my english... Any advice?
I had the Nexus g beta 4 rom, with a clean installation, and it works fine with dalvik
Sure that the Battery is not completely drained?
Try this:

According to Motorola Mobility, the solution to a fully discharged battery not restarting is to plug it in to charger and press & hold the power button for 18+ seconds, when the battery should resume charging.

Did you do anythigh else than switching to ART? I am asking, because you cannot brick your phone with ART. When you turn the phone on, it first runs the bootloader, the bootloader loads the kernel and only after that is the ROM loaded, which is the step where ART can cause problems.
In short - there is no way ART could have done anything to the bootloader or the kernel and thus it couldn´t have bricked the phone.

Freeze the phone worked!!! Thank you sir, you save my phone!
Hi i searched for days the forum but didnt found a solution to my problem.
I have a Sony Xperia E (c1505). I did let my little brother used it for some days cause his phone was broken and he entered a pattern lock which he does not remember anymore. I cannot unlock it with adb cause the Usb debugging is not on. I cannot use my Google Account cause it only asks me a question where i was born, which my brother also dont remember what he actually wrote there. Also i cannot fastboot to hard reset the device. I would prefere to somehow unlock the pattern without loosing my data, cause of the contacts and documents i have in the device.

Do you have a custom recovery (like CWM or TWRP)?
If you do, then I can help you unlock your device.

Then I guess it is not possible to go any further..
Atleast, if you had your Bootloader unlocked, we could flash a kernel with recovery and would have tried to break the pattern..

Nope! You cannot unlock your device with that code.
For your information, it's for Service Menu..

Look I had somewat d same phone but while unlocking boot loader my phone stuck in a boot cycle.
So wat I did was flashed the stock Rom with the help of flashtool by androxine(or like that)
All u need is
1. Stock firmware (ftf file)
2. Laptop or desktop
3. Flastool
Open flashtool click on the thunder button, select flashmode, now select the ftf file.
Now connect the cord to pc and now the important part
Turn off ur phone
Remove battery
After 5 sec insert battery
*** HOLD VOLUME DOWN KEY AND INSERT THE CORD INTO PHONE ***
Notification light will glow green this means u have entered flash mode ( in ur phone)
Now flashtool will identify that u have connected a phone into flash mode.
It will flash the file and u will see ur phobe factory reseted

When the probe reaches some numbers ram it to restart Test
My problem is my device does restarting for no reason

Try booting in safe mode. If it still reboots, then flash a factory image with fastboot. If it still reboots then, you've got a hardware problem.

If you flashed a factory image and it still does it, then it is likely a hardware issue.
Replying to your PM- Boot into safe mode by pressing the power button, and when the reboot menu comes up, press and hold "Power off" until the option to reboot to safe mode pops up. Then just hit OK.

Safe mode boots your phone without any 3rd party apps or non essential software. It basically only loads the stuff your phone needs to run which will help to eliminate any apps as the culprit. Yes you'll still get calls, but any apps you use won't be accessible. It's not something that's meant to be used all the time, just for troubleshooting. So, if you still get reboots while in safe mode, that means you either have a hardware problem, or a firmware glitch. But since you said you already flashed the factory image that pretty much rules out the firmware, leaving hardware as being your issue.
